Turns out CTV and CBC not surprisingly have sanitized this story quite a bit, omitting more onerous demands that men not face her etc. in the class. This women clearly went in with the intention of agitating and eventually going to the HRC. The plain fact is, this was tactical. The women never intended to go there to learn French, but to teach sharia for control and profit. Another thing that really annoys me about the Canadian attitude. In the CTV video below, you see some professional Canadian from some Multi-Culti board or another use the usual platitudes of compromise and balance. Utterly emetic.. To these spoiled civil servants, when a Muslim demands that all Jews in Canada be dead, they believe that it would be a satisfying decision just to make them all really really sick.

An unidentifed woman wears a niqab. A judge’s decision not to allow a woman to wear the Muslim head covering has sparked a legal and religious debate.

Quebec Immigration Minister Yolande James authorized the expulsion of a Muslim woman from a government-sponsored French class at Cégep St. Laurent, a report said Tuesday.
The student, an Egyptian who is a permanent resident of Canada and who wears a veil over her face known as a niqab, apparently refused to reveal her face in class and insisted male students not face her, according to La Presse.
The Cégep tried various ways to accommodate the woman between February and November 2009. But the situation became tense and created problems at the school.
Roger Giroux, the director of francization with the Quebec Department of Immigration, made several requests to the woman for her to remove the veil at the risk of being expelled. She refused and insisted that Giroux’s ultimatum be confirmed in writing. Giroux informed the woman in a letter that she was indeed required to remove her niqab in order to participate in the class, since part of the objective of the class is to encourage interaction with other students.
The woman was informed, however, that she could take the same class on the Internet.
The woman has since then apparently complained to the Canadian Human Rights Commission, which will study the complaint in the coming months, La Presse said.
The woman initially agreed to remove her niqab when meeting with a female student advisor and when posing for her school ID card. She also agreed to receive some instruction without the niqab from a female teacher in an isolated area of the school.
The school’s accommodations extended to allowing the woman to give an oral presentation at the far end of the classroom facing away from other students. It became difficult to provide the woman with the instuction that is part of the curriculum, the La Presse report explained, because it involves teaching proper elocution and seeing how a person pronounces words in French.
The report notes that although there are regular requests for special accommodations in French classes for cultural reasons – some of which are deemed acceptable and some not – the cases rarely lead to expulsion. This was the only student expelled because of that among 39,000 students last year.

Quebec’s Human Rights Commission is studying a complaint from a permanent resident expelled from a French college class last year after she refused to remove her niqab veil.
The Egyptian woman was enrolled in a language class for new immigrants at the CÉGEP St-Laurent in northwest Montreal when she was asked to remove the religious clothing.
She claims school officials violated her freedom of religion by requesting she not wear her modest dress, which covers the entire face and body and leaves only the eyes exposed.
The school says it tried to accommodate her on several occasions. Officials say she was not wearing her niqab veil when she applied for the program, nor when she met with school representatives for the first time prior to the 10-month course.
But when she showed up for class, she was wearing a niqab because of the presence of male students.
The school said the teacher allowed her to do her oral tests alone in a separate room, and present her assignments with her back turned to the class.
The teacher told her it was important when learning a new language to be able to see others’ faces.
The woman’s demands created tension in the class, school officials said.
“For the teacher it was more difficult to hear her, and it was more difficult for all the people to understand what she has to say,” said the school’s director, Paul-Émile Bourque.
But one Montrealer who wears a niqab said she doesn’t understand how it could be a problem in the classroom.
“I went through four years of university in engineering and I graduated with distinction,” said Afifa Naz. “It didn’t affect my grades. I participated in projects with my group and really I had no problems.”
But the government is sticking by its guns.

Vlad has to a small degree, focused on how Islam is antipathetic to the arts and music and musicians in particular. There are many reasons for this not the least of which is that artists tend to be the most sanctimonious of the leftists, not to mention strident advocates of multiculturalism. The other is that supporters and producers of the arts need to know, that other cultures, specifically Islam, do not see the arts as Americans do.
Celebrity culture is uniquely an American experience even if it has been exported to many western nations. Rome for example, loved and admired the arts but felt Artists overall, were considerably lower in status than people in the trades. I tend to agree with the Romans.
In any case, now cyclists have been targeted in Saudi not so much because they are cyclists, but because they are infidels. The trial, if there is one, and the sentence, if there is one, will be very revealing as to how sharia law will view this, if indeed it is a crime at all.
The bigger point is, that in a world with increasingly higher numbers of Muslims being brought into western nations, nations which have a profound culture of their own but are in denial of it, we will start to see the following.
Our culture, which allows for people to make themselves very vulnerable to strangers from time to time, will begin to change those behaviours. That we will have to start to examine our food and where it is from more. To not use bicycles trivially for exercise and sport where we may be vulnerable to strangers in cars.
‘Situational awareness’ will become something people learning more and more circumstances and not just something taught to spies and security personnel. We already see this in aviation to a very large degree. Aviation is merely the first area where western civilization has grudgingly changed its sense of security to accommodate the multi cultural fantasy. But it will not be the last.
Our refusal to accept the fact that we are indeed at war with Islam, as we have been historically more often than not, means we will have to come up with more and more creative reasons why we are losing and why its somehow OK, or more likely, our own fault. Civilization has already thrown Israel and by extension Jewish people, under the bus. Israel’s foreign policy has aggravated the peaceful Muslims and made victims of the ‘Palestinians’ and they deserve what they get or some other rationalization.
There is also of course, massive denial of the facts on the ground for Jewish people world wide and especially in universities. Have a look at this stunning case of selective enforcement at York U. This is a very serious matter. This means that York has allowed the most vicious and hostile people to western ideas, the very ideas a university is supposed to perpetuate, to set the agenda, and the parameters of who may and may not speak, and what ideas may or may not be presented to the student body.
Granted this example of the cyclist was in Saudi Arabia but this is about stages. With larger numbers of Muslims, you get a larger demand for more and more strict applications of sharia law. Already at Carleton U. in Canada, the main bar, Roosters Pub, which was rumoured to be one of the largest beer outlets in North America, was forced to go booze free to accommodate Muslim ‘students’* who felt they had a right to be in there without being offended by the presence of infidels drinking.
Much more disturbingly, the facts, which at the time where printed in local newspapers etc. where hushed up and its very difficult to find evdience of this now. This by the way, was in the 1990s or earlier. I went in and interviewed staff members myself who refused to speak on the matter or denied knowing anything about why a massively profitable institution became dry.
It will be well worth watching the trial of those arrested for deliberately running over foreign workers in the KSA who were cycling. It is the future of our own nations. First in the behaviour, the attacking of the vulnerable in any way possible in order to destroy our trust based culture, and then in the judicial process that follows. All this I guarantee until and unless we admit in the west, that we are indeed at war, with Islam.

On Whitechapel Road in the heart of the East End stands the East London Mosque.

For most of the 15,000 ordinary Muslims who pray there each week, it is simply a place of worship. For many, it provides valuable social facilities, and creche and outreach services.
But for a small number, the mosque is the headquarters of a secretive, fundamentalist political network. The Islamic Forum of Europe is dedicated, in its own words, to changing the “very infrastructure of society, its institutions, its culture, its political order and its creed … from ignorance to Islam”.
The mosque and IFE are inextricably intertwined. Dr Mohammed Abdul Bari, the chairman of the mosque, and its vice-chairman are former IFE presidents.
The director and imam of the mosque are trustees of the group. Of 22 IFE trustees in recent years, only five have not also been trustees or officeholders of the religious centre.
The mosque calls the IFE a “social welfare organisation” and the IFE presents itself as committed to “community cohesion” and “tolerance”.
But the undercover reporters discovered that it was also a sophisticated political group with a structured rank system and hardline goals.

Another Toronto 18 member goes free
National Post… BRAMPTON — After a surprise guilty plea yesterday, Toronto 18 member Jahmaal James is a free man.
James, 27, pleaded guilty in Superior Court to one count of participating in a terrorist group, an offence that carries a maximum 10-year jail term. He received seven years plus a day, but with time served taken into account on the customary two-for-one basis, he was to be freed from Maplehurst prison shortly after leaving court.
“[James] actually disassociated himself with the group before the arrests and moved in a different direction,” Justice Bruce Durno [aka dhimmi scumbag] said in approving the joint Crown-defence sentencing submission.
James, who spent just under three years and nine months in pretrial custody, was also handed three years probation, a lifetime weapons ban and an order requiring he submit a sample to the national DNA databank.
James, in a dark hoodie, blue shirt and close-cropped hair, chose to say nothing when asked by the judge if he wanted to make a statement.
James became involved with the terrorist group in 2005, Crown attorney Jason Wakely noted during his sentencing submission. In November of that year, James traveled from Toronto to Lahore, Pakistan, to obtain paramilitary training from one of the jihadist camps in Waziristan or the Northwest Frontier Province.
“His purpose was to later use his paramilitary training for the benefit of [the terrorist group],” Mr. Wakely told the court, noting the group’s goal was to further the cause of violent jihad.
But while in Pakistan, James contracted a serious medical condition that limited his health and mobility, the judge heard.
“This disrupted his plan,” Mr. Wakely said. “The Crown does not allege that James actually received paramilitary training.”
While overseas, James kept in frequent contact with a member of the terrorist group, speaking in “guarded language” because he was conscious of surveillance, Mr. Wakely said. But weeks after returning to Toronto in March 2006, he became “disgruntled” with the way the group was operating, and gradually severed ties.
He was arrested that June.
Defence lawyer Donald McLeod said his client “saw the light” after his return from Pakistan, realizing the terrorist group’s goals did not line up with his view of the Muslim religion.
James had mixed emotions about yesterday’s proceedings, Mr. McLeod said, “but I think now he can look forward to sort of doing things differently, better.”

Danish newspaper apologises in Muhammad cartoons row

Politiken widely condemned for agreeing to publish apology in return for Muslim organisations dropping legal action
A Danish newspaper apologised today to eight Muslim organisations for the offence it caused by reprinting controversial cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad, in exchange for their dropping legal action against the newspaper.
Politiken reached a settlement with the groups, which represent 94,923 of Muhammad’s descendants, in which it agreed to print an apology for the affront the cartoons caused. The newspaper has not given up its right to publish the cartoons and has not apologised for having printed them as part of its news coverage.
In a joint statement, the two sides said they wanted to “express their satisfaction with this amicable understanding and settlement, and express the hope that it may in some degree contribute to defusing the present tense situation”.
The decision to issue an apology for the offence caused has been met, however, by widespread condemnation from the Danish media and political parties.
The editor of Jyllands-Posten, which originally printed the cartoons in 2005 and is published by the same media company as Politiken, said that its sister paper had failed in the fight for freedom of speech and called it a “sad day” for the Danish press. Continue Reading →

Several weeks ago a Dutch reader sent us a set of essays by an expatriate Dutch writer named Arthur Legger. I forwarded two of them — one from The Wall Street Journal and the other from IFPS — to our Flemish correspondent VH, and asked his opinion of them.
As regular readers know, VH is very well-informed on both Belgian and Dutch affairs, and documents his opinions copiously using multiple sources. His reply to me was so thoughtfully pessimistic that I was taken by surprise — VH has an invariably sunny and optimistic disposition, but his outlook for the Netherlands was startlingly gloomy.
With his kind permission, I have merged and edited two of his emails into the essay below. My questions to VH have been interpolated in italics:
The “traditional Dutch liberties” that according to the WSJ existed from 1997 until 2005 had in fact already ceased to exist since the immigration flow started to boom in the mid-1970s. Many non-left-wing and conservative Dutch people learned to be careful after that, to go with the flow, and to share real opinions only with the most trusted friends, and in private.
In the eighties a politician was convicted for stating: “When we have the chance, we will abolish the multicultural society”. And when Frits Bolkestein of the VVD expressed his critique of multiculture and mass immigration in parliament in the early 1990s, a very silent electorate rewarded him with a substantial increase in votes, only to be betrayed by Bolkestein being kicked upstairs to Brussels, to the EU…
In Arthur Legger’s excellent essay, he quotes Dr. Hans Daudt: “Via the main political parties the traditional regent families are still in power.” That, however, may be only partly the case with the royalty and its entourage.
For among that “entourage” is the multicultural elite, and they influence each other and hold power. Princess Maxima — who in 2002 was introduced to the ins and outs of Dutch society by extreme left-wingers and multiculturalists and ex-DDR admirers like Andrée van Es (now Secretary General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs) and Paul Rosenmöller (ex Pol Pot propagandist who, as a GreenLeft, easily got away with that) — once stated to Gretta Duisenberg (maybe the most notorious Arafat- and Hamas-admirer and anti-Semite in the Netherlands) that Dutch identity does not exist. Duisenberg: “One time Princess Maxima was there at a reception, and I passed by her, and she called me and said: ‘I want to say that I really admire you’.”

New York City Terrorism Suspect to Plead Guilty
FOXNEWS… The key suspect in an alleged plot to attack New York City with homemade bombs has begun cooperating with investigators and is preparing to enter a guilty plea, Fox News has confirmed.
Najibullah Zazi, 24, has begun talking to authorities and plans a guilty plea that could come as early as Monday, according to law enforcement officials speaking on condition of anonymity.
As important as a plea would be, Zazi may be far more valuable to investigators as a source for information about co-conspirators in the United States and Pakistan.
Three people with inside knowledge of the investigation confirmed that the jailed Zazi recently volunteered information about the alleged bomb plot during a meeting with his attorney and federal prosecutors in Brooklyn. The sit-down, known as a proffer session, typically signals that a defendant has begun cooperating in a bid for a plea deal.
Zazi — accused of receiving explosives training in an Al Qaeda terrorism camp in Pakistan — told prosecutors that he was armed with bomb-making components while en route to New York City last year, but flushed them down the toilet in a New York City apartment after getting spooked by a traffic stop on the George Washington Bridge while entering the city, the people said.
Zazi had driven a rented car from Denver to New York, arriving Sept. 10, 2009, the day before the eighth anniversary of the 2001 attacks.
He was allowed to go free after what was described as a routine traffic stop on the bridge, which connects New Jersey and New York. Authorities days later raided several Queens apartments, including a friend’s home where Zazi had stayed.
The government alleges that the airport driver and others bought beauty supplies in Colorado to make peroxide-based bombs before he tried to mix the explosives in a hotel room there, then set out cross-country by car in September. Searches of his car after he arrived turned up bomb-making plans on a laptop computer, but no actual devices or materials.
The cooperation by Zazi suggests prosecutors hope to expand the case and bring charges against other suspects in his case and possibly other terrorism probes. Defence chiefs fight plans to build £3m giant mosque that ‘will loom over Sandhurst’
MAILONLINE… Generals are trying to block plans to build a mosque with two 100ft minarets next to Sandhurst.
The £3million building would have a clear view over the military academy and is just 400 yards from its parade ground.
Senior officers oppose the project saying it could pose a security threat to cadets.
Yesterday an Army source said: ‘This has gone right to the top of the chain of command.
‘There is very real concern that if this thing gets built then soldiers could be put at risk.
‘It is outrageous to even think that the officers of the future would have to watch their backs while they are still in training.’
Hundreds of newly-commissioned Army officers take to the parade ground each year for the academy’s passing out ceremony.
The event attracts senior members of the Royal Family, including the Queen when her grandson Prince Harry was commissioned in 2006.
The gigantic mosque is the idea of the Bengali Welfare Association, which worships at the al-Kharafi Islamic Centre in Camberley, Surrey.
The group wants to demolish a listed Victorian school building in use as a mosque at the centre and replace it with a sprawling Saudi Arabian-style building.
Planning papers reveal that the massive structure would tower over local buildings.
As well as the two minarets, it would feature a large central dome, five smaller outlying domes, a morgue, a library and a separate worship area for women.
The first attempt at securing planning approval led to objections from 1,000 locals. Planning officers were also opposed but Conservative-dominated Surrey Heath gave the mosque the go-ahead last month.
However, a procedural error means the application now needs to go to a full council meeting for approval.
And the Ministry of Defence – which initially had no objections – has its mind to insist that the minarets are not built.
Local MEP Nigel Farage of UKIP, who is battling the plans, said: ‘I am appalled that a local council can totally ignore the wishes of the overwhelming majority of the electorate of Camberley and overturn the recommendations of planning officers.
‘This building is quite simply inappropriate and gives rise to genuine security concerns.
‘I know that senior military officers are extremely concerned about this. It simply cannot be allowed to go ahead.’
Alan Kirkland, a local campaigner, said: ‘Local people are simply flabbergasted that 100ft high minarets can be built right next to the Royal Military Academy.
‘There is obviously a security risk and there is no way that it should be built.’
A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: ‘Defence Estates has objected to the plans as such a tall building would give oversight into Defence property which could prove a security risk.’
Arizona Prosecutors Won’t Seek Death Penalty in Honor Killing

PAJAMASMEDIA… Remember the case in which Faleh al-Maleki, an Iraqi-American father brutally ran over his daughter, Noor, in Arizona, then attempted to escape but was apprehended in Britain and returned to face justice?
Guess what’s just happened? The Arizona prosecutors have been scared off seeking the death penalty. Public defender Billy Little raised the specter of “How will it look for Christians to execute a Muslim?”
I kid you not.
Billy Little asked the judge to “take special precautions to ensure the County Attorney’s Office wouldn’t wrongly seek the death penalty because Almaleki is a Muslim.” Little called for an “open process (to) provide some level of assurance that there is no appearance that a Christian is seeking to execute a Muslim for racial, political, religious or cultural beliefs,” referring to County Attorney Andrew Thomas’ Christian faith.
Whoa!
Words fail me here. Are Christian lawyers, by definition, hopelessly biased against Muslims? This is a fact not in evidence. Is the public defender Christian? Why should this matter in America? What if the judge is Christian? Does Billy Little understand that Muslim judges do not usually prosecute men who honor murder their wives, sisters, or daughters?
But prithee pause. Allow me to take another approach. If Billy Little is that concerned with not shedding Muslim blood: Faleh al-Maleki is a Muslim who also killed a Muslim; he rode right over his daughter with a two-ton jeep. Is her female Muslim blood cheaper than his male Muslim blood? And, let’s not forget: Al-Maleki attempted to murder another Muslim woman who was sheltering his daughter.
Little also rattled his sword about the importance of keeping “religion” out of the proceeding…while simultaneously using the defendant’s religion to insist that his life be spared! In any event, even most Islamists insist that Islam has nothing to do with honor killings, that it is a tribal custom, one that existed long before Islam arose. (And, I must add, a custom which all-mighty Islam has been unable or unwilling to abolish).
Fine. Keep religion out of it if you must. Call it a dirty tribal custom. But let’s be honest. You just don’t see many Buddhists, Jews, or Christians killing their daughters because they refuse to remain in arranged marriages or because they want to lead independent lives. This was precisely why al-Maleki killed his daughter.
According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, Al Maleki is still being charged with first degree murder, aggravated assault, and two counts of leaving the scene of a serious accident.
So: Why have the prosecutors backed down? Has the same politically correct culture that has so fatally infected the American military (Fort Hood, etc.) infected the prosecutor’s office as well? Are Arizonians unconsciously guilty about living on indigenous Apache and Navajo land and see al-Maleki as a symbol of indigenous cultures?
I am not a huge fan of the death penalty; it is applied in racially biased ways and innocent people have been executed. And yet: Do the prosecutors really believe that being sentenced to life in prison (as an “honorable” man) will deter the next dishonorable honor killer in our midst, to whom his miserable, misogynist concept of “honor” is more important than life? Certainly, far more important than female life.
