Düsseldorf – a Kurdish November 4 protest with some 20,000 participants is turning into major clashes with police, as participants insist on displaying flags of the banned organization PKK (Kurdish Workers’ Party), violating German law. Apparently, the police have now had to bring in anti-riot water cannon vehicles.

Several thousand Kurds congregated in Düsseldorf at a demonstration for releasing the captive PKK chief Abdullah Öcalan. They displayed his portraits, which is illegal. Clashes ensued.
The Kurdish demonstration in Düsseldorf on Saturday saw clashes with the police, after numerous participants displayed illegal flags with the portrait of the PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan. The officers were attacked with flagpoles, and upon that had to use pepper spray, said a police spokesman. The police had stopped the two protest marches, as they were displaying the illegal flags.
A photo reporter confirms that the officers repeatedly asked over loudspeakers to roll up the illegal flags, to no avail. Several protesters were taken into initial custody.
The protest was organized by an alliance of several groups, including organizations like NAV-DEM (Kurdisches Democratic Society Centre), who are close to the banned Turkish Workers’ Party PKK.
The participants came with busses from all across Europe, a speaker of the event said. They were expecting 25,000 participants.
Friday evening, the Superior District Court North Rhine Westphalia had, in an express hearing, explicitly confirmed the established jurisdiction that demonstrations may not display flags and banners with portraits of Öcalan (File.: 15 B 1371/17). The PKK is classified a terrorist organization in Germany, the European Union, and Turkey..
In mid September, a Kurdish festival organized by NAV-DEM caused dismay in Cologne. The German embassador in Ankara was summoned to the Turkish foreign ministry.
The organizers of the demonstration in Düsseldorf demand the release of the PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, who serves a life sentence in Turkey. The PKK is classified a terrorist organization in Germany, the European Union, and Turkey. As they are close to the PKK, the NAV-DEM is on the watch list of the Office For The Protection Of The Constitution in Germany.

OTTAWA — Canada ought to go a step beyond simply denouncing the ironic appointment of North Korea to the United Nations Conference on Disarmament, a leading foreign policy expert said Thursday.
Fen Hampson, the director of Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University in Ottawa, suggested Canada temporarily withdraw from the conference as a symbol of dissent.
Given North Korea’s track record on nuclear proliferation, at the very least Canada should launch an internal review of the conference which he described as a “Mad Hatter’s Tea Party” under the leadership of So Se Pyong.
“This is kind of beyond the pale,” Hampson said. “North Korea has clearly shown that it doesn’t play by the rules when it comes to arms control and the obligations of member states.” Continue Reading →

You’ve probably never heard of Chris Harman. But his ideas on Islamism have proved highly influential.
A long-term editor for the Socialist Worker and International Socialism magazines, and a member of the Central Committee of the Socialist Workers Party, Harman has been credited with creating the ideology that allowed the militant-Left to form an alliance with radical Islamists.
The Left which talked of women’s right and gay rights one day would happily keep silent on these issues the next, as they met with, and marched alongside, Islamist extremists who hated gays and considered women to be inferior.
Those who stood up for human rights even in the face of Islamist aggression were to be described as “racist” and “Islamophobic”. Where did this come from?
Islamists: the New Vanguard of a Socialist Revolution:
Far-Leftism was transformed during the 20th century. Karl Marx, the father of “scientific socialism”, had predicted that war would one day sweep across Europe. The working classes, or the “proletariat”, he predicted, would then realise their “class consciousness” and overthrow their own governments, transforming Europe into a socialist state.
Marx, it turned out, was only partly correct. From 1914 to 1918 Europe was engulfed by the First World War. However, the working classes fought for their countries. British soldiers went to war to fight for the freedom of their families and fellow countrymen.
Marxists were left confused. Although socialists attempted to take over some European cities, no lasting socialist state was established. The question Marxists were asking themselves was what went wrong?
The far-Left eventually came to believe that, because the working class respected its national traditions, it was not “revolutionary” enough to serve as the “vanguard” of a Marxist revolution.
It was decided that the way forward was to (1) find a new “vanguard” to take the traditional place of Marx’s proletariat, and (2) to attack and undermine national culture, making it appear to be not worth defending.
The result was what is sometimes called “Cultural Marxism”. This began to emerge in the 1960s. The far-Left decided that if the “proletariat” would not instigate a revolution for them, then other disenfranchised groups might. Women, ethnic and religious minorities, and gays all became the target of the New Left. However, as it later revealed, minorities were only of importance to the New Left so long as they could be used to make the West look oppressive. Today we see socialist and “anti-racist” groups aligning themselves with anti-Semitic, homophobic, Islamist organisations, because far-Left-wing organizations believe that these are more aggressive, anti-Western, and, as such, more “revolutionary”.

Every-time you think you understand the depth and breadth of human cruelty, you discover your own limited, and perhaps mercifully so, imagination. I happened to catch a celebration of the passing of the torch to Kim’s son in North Korea on TV last night. A nation that is willing to force an entire people to starve to the point where they are actually by average measurably shorter than their south Korean counterparts on average just to maintain the thinnest possible mirage of superiority to the west. It staggers the mind that university students would not dare to walk around in Nazi paraphernalia, but would sport every kind of communist symbol they can find with pride.
Communism did and still does, logarithmically more horror, slavery and cruelty than the Nazis managed. The fact that left leaning, western universities have managed to hide all that and make it fashionable is itself a crime.
In any case, at the end of this clip I posted a tinyurl I made for the following documentary made by American journalists who visited North Korea. Ill post it below the clip-vid I made here. Please try and find the time to watch it. Not only is it very good, it is also important to realize that communism is still, to this very day, breaking and chaining the ankles of a wonderful people while just miles away, freedom allows the very same people to be massively creative, wealthy, and well fed.
This has to be a new level of absurdity and sedition by Obama. It is actually hard to type that. The President of the USA, it would appear, is in collusion with foreign nations to undermine a US state which is attempting to preserve it’s own American character.

I think it was fair in the context I meant it however. Many Utopians left unchecked and given enough slack tend to slaughter people in the millions to create utopias. Environmentalists are just a flavour of leftist and like communists before them, are sufficiently confident that they are right that they are ready to go farther and farther into the freedoms and rights of others to achieve their particular, and often misanthropic, utopias.
