Not content to merely demand that Turkey be admitted to the European Union, British Prime Minister Cameron spoke harsh and rather untrue words about the state of Israel today in Turkey..

British Prime Minister in Turkey takes out hard against Israel

The British Prime Minister David Cameron during his visit to Ankara, the capital of Turkey, lashed out hard at Israel. He for instance compared the situation in the Gaza Strip with that of a “prison camp”. Cameron’s speech however, was full of praise for Turkey and the Turkish-British relations.

He promised to commit himself “passionately” to Turkey’s accession to the EU. Accession is according to the Conservative leader “vital to our economy, vital to our security and vital to our diplomacy.”

Cameron also took the opportunity to bash Israel. The British government leader called the actions of the Israeli Navy against a boat with Gaza activists in late May — in which nine people were killed — “unacceptable” and demanded a further exhaustive investigation into the incident.

He also compared the situation in the Gaza Strip with that of a “prison camp”. “Let me be clear that the situation in Gaza must change,” Cameron said. “Humanitarian goods and people must in both directions be able to cross the border. Gaza can not and should not be a prison camp.” He did not mention Hamas.

Cameron did call though, for both Turkey as well as Israel, not let water down the friendship between the two states, which recently had been marred.

Ron Prosor, the Israeli ambassador to Britain, finds the statements of Cameron inappropriate. “People in Gaza are prisoners of the terrorist organization Hamas,” said Prosor. “The situation there is a direct result of Hamas’ rules and priorities.”

Obama’s Cairo speech

Yes yes I know that was ages ago. But its been a bee in my bonnet since he gave it. Before Obama was elected I was pretty sure he was a bad idea, but after he was elected I held out hope that he had a grand strategy which was to be conciliatory to a degree, and then, when Iran continued on its natural course of aggression, Obama was going to suddenly defend the free world with real gusto and get all kinds of support from the left in the US and Western world because he had gone to such great lengths to supplicate and appease the Islamic world.There would be a great shrug and an ‘I did all I could, and now, the time to fight has come’. I was not expecting, “The US will never be at war with Islam…” etc. at Nausea.

When I saw the Cairo speech I had to re think that strategy. Clearly Obama was either knowingly making up stuff about Islam and its history or he actually believed the stuff he said, which given that he grew up at a Madrassa in Indonesia he probably does, and either way he simply was not representing the nation that elected him or it’s interests.

In any case, Fjordman did a refutation of Obama’s Cairo speech here. Anything by Fjordman is well worth reading but this especially is worth the click and the time.

Here is a rather stunning documentary about how many poor people with little or no opportunity are tricked into going to Dubai for great jobs only to have their passports taken from them, and offered literally slave wages and slave living conditions. This is not ‘like’ slavery, it is slavery. But the silence from unions and communists and all who gain their reputations and moral authority from “defending the working class” are stunningly silent. What are they doing instead with all that sanctimony? Why boycotting Israel of course. Israel, the one place in the entire middle east where workers enjoy freedom, strong unions, a wage that allows them to raise a family and live in a nice house and frankly achieve the dream of the working man from the first time one guy hired another to move his rocks around. Below this article about how Greek unions and communists spend their time and effort, is the video of The Slaves of Dubai. Then think about that in context of this documentary. I think these workers could use a little support.

An El Al flight bound for Israel from Athens, Greece was delayed for about two hours at Athens International Airport Wednesday after protesters against the blockade of Gaza blocked check-in counters, airport officials said.

Members of a Communist-backed labor union said they blocked five El Al airline counters for two hours to protest the Israeli blockade of Gaza and the Jewish state’s “oppressive policies.”

“This was an action taken in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their effort to establish a Palestinian state,” union spokesman Giorgos Pontikos told the AP.

He said police were present at the protest but did not intervene.

El Al representatives decided to stop check-in efforts for the flight yet once the protest ended, check-in procedures continued.

Athens airport officials said El Al flight 542 to Tel Aviv, on an Boeing 737 airplane departed from Athens two hours after the scheduled time, at 12:30 (0930GMT), with 99 passengers, after the protest ended without incident.

El Al released a statement saying that the flight and passenger’s security is the company’s utmost priority which would not be comprised in any situation. The airline stressed that at no point were passengers at risk of harm.

Dozens speak out against planned mosque near ground zero at NYC hearing on landmark status

FOXNEWS…Dozens of opponents and some supporters of a mosque planned near ground zero attended a raucous hearing Tuesday about whether the building where the Muslim place of worship would be created warrants designation as a city landmark and should be protected from development.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Lazio, who has sought an investigation into the funding of the mosque, was among the witnesses who testified in support of giving the building landmark status, which could complicate plans by Muslim groups to develop a community center and mosque there.

After noting the lower Manhattan building’s history and architectural significance, Lazio said it also warranted landmark designation because on Sept. 11, 2001, it was struck by airplane debris from the terror attacks against the nearby World Trade Center. That connection to the attacks, he said, made it “a place of deep historical significance and a reminder of just what happened on New York’s darkest day.”

Lazio has called on state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, his Democratic opponent in the governor’s race, to investigate the funding of the project. On Tuesday, he repeated that request and said the pace of the landmark designation process should be slowed to allow time to thoroughly investigate the matter.

Nearly 100 people attended the hearing at a college campus on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Fifty-six people testified at the hearing, which turned contentious at times, with some speakers drowned out by shouts from the audience and with one man escorted out by campus security.

“To deprive this building of landmark status is to allow for a citadel of Islamic supremacy to be erected in its place,” said Andrea Quinn, a freelance audio technician from Queens who said she had worked with people at the World Trade Center.

But Rafiq Kathwari, who described himself as a moderate Muslim, said the landmark discussion had been hijacked.

“This has been made by a very vocal minority into an issue of bigotry,” said Kathwari, as he held up his U.S. passport and was nearly drowned out by shouts from the crowd. “I’m standing in a hall in which I feel ashamed to be an American.” Continue Reading →

Front Page interviews Kent Ekeroth

Frontpage Interview’s guest today is Kent Ekeroth, the international secretary for the political party, Sweden Democrats (SD) and a candidate for the Swedish parliament in the elections in September 2010.

FP: Kent Ekeroth, welcome to Frontpage Interview.

I would like to talk to you today about the Islamization of Sweden.

Let’s begin by you telling us a bit about the political climate in your country. To what extent have political correctness and multiculturalism infiltrated the society and what destruction are they wreaking?

Ekeroth: Thanks Jamie.

We’ll a friend of mine once described Sweden as a “politically correct dictatorship,” which is a rather good description on how far things have gone in Sweden. I can give you a few examples of exactly how far we are talking about. Our prime minister, Fredrik Reinfeldt, said the following soon after he was elected in 2006:

“The core Swedish is only barbarism. The rest of the development has come from outside.”

Mona Sahlin, now the party leader of the Social Democrats, which is the largest party in Sweden with about 35% of the votes, said in 2002:

“I think that what makes so many Swedes envious of immigrant groups is, you have a culture, an identity, a history, something that binds you. And what do we have? Mid-summers’ eve and such ridiculous things.”

The party leader of the Center Party, who is in the current government coalition, said the following:

“It is really not the Swedes that built Sweden. It was people that came from abroad.”

These three quotes are a pretty clear indicator that things have gone very wrong in Sweden. The Swedish media is censoring the fact that the perpetrators of violent crimes are foreigners. One example of this is when a major Swedish newspaper, Expressen, printed a picture of a criminal that they pixeled to avoid identification. Moreover, they whitened the pixels so that the readers would not see that he was a non-white.

Toronto: Narrative so strong that homosexuals march demanding their own deaths before the acceptance of a Jewish state

First let me make my terms clear. Below, a 12 minute video clip by one of my favorite analysts in the new media, Bill Whittle, who explains what exactly the narrative is and where it came from. His clip is 12 minutes long. Please watch it if you have not already. At the and of his 12 minutes I attached the specific video clip he recommended for those who wish to know more.

In this context I hope the title makes sense. Blazing Cat Fur was kind enough to send me a link to their site of an article about how at the last moment, ‘Queers Against Israeli Apartheid’ is going to be allowed to march in this years ‘Gay Pride’ festival.

I find this interesting. First, presumably the marches were for the establishment of equal rights for homosexuals before the law. An understandable goal for a liberal society and in the context of real equal rights (as opposed to systemic discrimination such as affirmative action etc) a critically important one.

Then, at least it appears to me, the marches having achieved all their goals at least in Canada became celebrations of pure hedonism. At one level fun and eclectic, at another, a thorn in the side of those more conservative minded people who feel that sexuality should have some modesty and social responsibilities attached.

Even so, it was a livable balance.

However the power of the Anti Israel and often if not always, a stone’s throw away from anti-Semetic narrative is so powerful, that Homosexuals have fought for the ‘right’ to march against the one state in the entire Middle east, and probably although I am not certain all of South Asia, who actually do not murder homosexuals merely for being such.

Let me summarize.

Gay people won the right to be equal before the law and march with impunity as openly gay in the streets of North America, even to the point of breaking numerous laws on nudity in public and so on, just to then decide to use that massive political lobby to fight for people who would bury them to the neck and stone them to death against the only tiny state in that region who would allow them full rights, liberties, dignity and opportunity as openly gay people.

And the protest from the gay community?

Short of Fred’s excelent blog Gay and Right and perhaps one or two  more tiny voices of reason I hear deafening silence.

All I can say is, if homosexuals in Canada had a grain of integrity or for that matter even a modicum of self preservation, they would be marching for gay rights in Palestine or Saudi Arabia or anywhere in the Islamic world.

Gay people of Canada, you have a great deal to be ashamed of.

I would like to remind you that the term faggot meant that gay people could be stacked like cord-wood and would burn well. That homosexuals were murdered by the hundreds of thousands alongside the Jews and Gypsies in the Nazi death camps. That you ally yourselves with the very people who will take bets on how long it will take you to die in some ancient ritualistic form of mutilationous murder.

Pick your allies well. History is watching.

Where is the ‘flotilla’ for the real starving?

A regular reader and commenter on Vlad, was kind enough to send us two pictures. If one tells a thousand words, then two tells a million. The first one, you may have seen a few posts back:

If you look at #8 for men, and #3 for women, you may suspect that the frequently made claims that Israel is starving the Palestinians is not in accordance with the facts.

However, there is a group on Earth that is being deliberately starved and right to death in large numbers. They are being taken as sexual and hard labour slaves. They are being treated as badly as any group on earth has been treated shy of with modern deliberate mass methods of torture and extermination. But historically, this typically is as bad is it can get just shy of genocide and frankly, one might make the case that this is genocide.

Indeed, the lies about Israel and its alleged treatment of its neighbours, when the reverse is more the case. That Muslims who sell property to Jews in Judea and Sumeria are often killed, sometimes by their own families, while Muslim Arabs live as full Israeli citizens with greater rights in some ways than the Jewish population. I believe that an Arab Muslim has the right not to serve in the Israeli military for example, while non-orthodox-Jews do not.

Calculating the Cost of Cultural Enrichment in the Netherlands

“The second generation of non-Western immigrants makes greater use of collective provisions and contributes less in taxes and social security premiums than the average citizen.”

Last year Geert Wilders asked the Dutch government to prepare a cost-benefit analysis of immigration into the Netherlands, so that voters could make an informed decision about whether mass immigration from the Third World should be halted. The government refused his request, so his party commissioned a report from NYFER, a private research firm, to assess the overall net cost of immigration.

As Mr. Wilders mentioned in his speech last week, the results are in, and the report has been published. The full NYFER report (in Dutch, pdf) is available online, and the conclusions (in Dutch, pdf) have also been posted.

Our Flemish correspondent VH has kindly translated NYFER’s conclusions for Gates of Vienna. It’s easy to see why the Dutch government was reluctant to look into the matter: for the last ten years, the net cost of immigration to the Netherlands has been €7.2 billion annually.

An Ethics Train Wreck, Indeed

As any reader of Vlad knows, May 20th was the first annual Everybody Draw Mohamed Day, and with it, many debates as to the ethics and rational of drawing a 14th century war lord when it pisses off so many morons.

Below, is the text of a debate between Gates of Vienna’s own Baron Bodissey, and an appointed ‘ethicist’ for the other side. The side that says we should not do things that offend other people and I have no idea where that is supposed to end. I guess none of us say anything.

Turns out, the ethicist had a rather unique set of ethics. I think they will be well detailed below:

The recent debate I took part in at Public Square has taken an interesting twist. Not only was my final post in the series refused for publication, but as various readers have discovered, my opponent, Jack Marshall, is not entirely what he seems to be. In addition to his deficiencies in logical reasoning, certain of Mr. Marshall’s credentials as a lawyer and an academic appear to be less than were stated in his CV.

I apologize to our readers for allowing myself to be snookered into such a shabby event. However, in my defense, I had only a couple of hours to prepare before beginning the debate — not enough time to do a thorough investigation of my opponent.

Dymphna will have more to say on the credentials issue later.

After submitting my final response for review, I posted it here, expecting that it would appear shortly at Public Square. However, instead of my post, an additional response by Mr. Marshall, “Ten Steps to An Ethics Train Wreck”, appeared two minutes before the noon deadline.

I’m not going to address what he says in his post — it’s similar to what went before, and y’all can read it for yourselves if you’re so inclined. I’m more interested in the fact that my final post was denied publication.

I wrote to the site’s owner to find out what happened, and he responded with this email:

Baron,

I can’t publish your last post as-is because I interpret most if it as a dig at PublicSquare.net itself. Attacking your opponent is one thing; going after the host of the debate is quite another. If you do not intend it that way, please edit your post accordingly and I’ll be happy to post it.

My reply:

My post contains valid criticisms of your site, which are relevant to our recently-completed “debate”.

To bill the process as a “debate” and to describe Jack Marshall as a “professional ethicist” is misleading at best. Mr. Marshall would be more accurately described as “an attorney who describes himself as an ethicist.”

To allow this type of discourse to proceed unhindered is, of course, your prerogative as the site’s administrator. In my opinion, however, to describe the process as a “debate” is a misrepresentation.

My criticisms were valid and to the point, and were clearly, reasonably, and civilly stated. If you choose to deny them a public airing on your forum, I obviously have no recourse.

I will, however, publicize this fact at our blog, and include our correspondence (with your name omitted, of course). Our blog has a wide readership, and posts of interest often go viral. So who knows? This may well increase your traffic at Public Square.

I shall also suggest to our regular readers that they visit Bloggerheads and avail themselves of the opportunity to comment on some of the posts in question, if they are so inclined.

“One is Not an Ethicist Because One Says So”

The Baron has already presented the facts of this debacle , that is, the purported “debate” between him and a self-appointed ethicist named Jack Marshall on the merits of “Everyone Draw Mohammed Day”.

Speeding around the learning curve can be dangerous. Not having much time, we failed to practice due diligence in checking out the Baron’s opponent. As a result, Gates of Vienna ended up stuck in one mess of a tar baby — one that was put in our path by a website named Public Square. However, we could have gone around that mess instead of jumping in. Our bad, but then that’s the nature of tar babies: they look so darn attractive.

But as soon as I saw the first paragraph by this fellow, Jack Marshall, I knew things wouldn’t go well:

My name is Jack Marshall, and I’m a professional ethicist, which means that I think about, write and teach how we determine what is right and wrong for a living. I apply ethical analysis to everything under the sun on my own blog…

Leaving aside the condescension in this blurb, look at the sentence construction, specifically,

“I think about…etc…how we determine what is right and wrong for a living”…

So how does this fellow determine what is right and wrong about a living? Obviously, he doesn’t. What he had attempted to say, however syntactically garbled, was that he made a living by teaching, writing, etc., about ethics.

This syntactical confusion was a bright red flag, a warning that the Baron’s opponent in this debate wasn’t a clear thinker.

He is worse than that. The judgment of his peers on Mr. Marshall finds him wanting ethically. That is, he presents himself as having credentials and experience he doesn’t possess.

But let me start at the beginning, when Mr. Marshall was fisked three ways to Sunday for his humorless attack on another lawyer.
