Muslims angered by women eating fruit

As a stand alone video, this will give days of laughter. But the explanation makes it even better.

Yesterday, an Egyptian court sentenced a singer to two years in jail for making a music video where she does the classic suggesting eating of fruits and cakes.

It seems that muslim girls here and there in the West have been imitating the video to drive some of the more orthodox muslim males into apoplexy. If the two combined videos at the top are any indicator, they are wildly successful.

A different aspect of this issue is the mundanity of the song itself. Which explains why they needed sex and controversy to sell it. And you can pretty much always count on muslims and leftists for a solid Streisand effect. But two years in jail for making a very ordinary pop song and an 80s style suggestive video is truly sad. I hope she survives and moves to a country where they would just find her video kind of pointless.

In case anyone thinks this is an isolated incident or an extreme case, please listen to this now ancient NPR report about murdering fruit vendors in Iraq in 2006 just because the bananas were displayed too close to the apples.

Hamed Abdel-Samad to Glamour Magazine: “Congratulations! The Self-Empowerment Of Political Islam Advances, With The Support Of The Left And Its Feminists!”

In a Facebook post today, Hamed Abdel-Samad slammed “Glamour” magazine for naming Linda Sarsour “woman of the year”.
Original translation of his post:

A woman in America has just been named Woman of the Year by Glamour magazine for organizing a march against Donald Trump last year.

The woman is called Linda Sarsour, she wants to introduce parts of Sharia law in America, and claims that the system in Saudi Arabia is more humane for women than the Western system.

Not only that. She massively attacked the human rights activist Ayan Hirsi-Ali because she had criticized Islam’s treatment of women. About Ali, Sarsour said,”I wish I could take her vagina away. Women like that don’t deserve to be women.”

Incidentally, Sarsour, who calls herself a feminist, was the initiator of the campaign “Headscarf means empowerment of women”, which has now also gained a foothold in Europe.

Congratulations, the self-empowerment of political Islam advances, with the friendly support of the left and its feminists!

The question is now: Why should one have compassion for a culture that no longer knows where it stands and that voluntarily gives itself up?

Hamed Abdel-Samad’s Twitter Account Deleted

Update: Twitter have restated Hamed’s account. Thank you to all of you who supported him!
Today, Friday November 3rd (CET), Hamed Abdel Samad noted that his twitter account @hamed_samad was deleted without prior notice.

Egyptian-German author and scholar Hamed Abdel-Samad.

Coincidentally, the last post he had shared on Twitter was his Facebook message of
November 1:

If within just one year, hundreds of Christian terrorists carried out acts of terror in more than 50 states, invoking the Bible in doing so, then most media would speak of Christian terrorism without batting an eyelid – and rightfully so. Times Magazine spoke of Buddhist terror, referring to violence against Muslims in Burma. But when the terrorists are Muslims, invoking the Koran, then they refuse to see a connection to Islam.
We do not defame all Muslims when we speak of Islamic terrorism. Not all Muslims put everything into action that is written in the Koran. Some just put into action what feels similar to them. Peaceful humans will choose the peaceful passages, and say, this is the message of the Koran. We like these Muslims, and we do not call them “selective”, but “liberal”, or “moderate”. Violent people invoke the violent passages and say, this is what God expects from us. We do not like these Muslims, and we say they are radical and misunderstand the Koran.
The fact that most Muslims do not commit acts of violence is not thanks to Islam. Islam expects of Muslims to pray five times a day in the Mosque. Very few Muslims do that. Is it due to Islam that they neglect this obligation? Islam demands that Muslims work diligently, not lie at the court, and keep the streets clean. Do all Muslims do accordingly? Islam permits man to marry four women at the same time. Very few Muslims use this permission. Islam legitimizes violence against unbelievers, legitimizes discrimination of religious minorities, and beating of women. The fact that many Muslims do not do any of this is not thanks to Islam, but thanks to the pragmatism and reason of the people who don’t do these things.
It is correct to say that not each single decision and each single deed of a Muslim can be attributed to Islam only, but at the same time, we cannot say: cleanliness, diligence, honesty, polygamy, hatred for unbelievers, violence against women, discrimination of minorities and praying five times a day have nothing to do with Islam!
Terror has got many causes that need to come together so that a person will become a terrorist. The social situation, the political situation in the world, the structure of his personality all play a role in that. But the religion and what it says about Jihad and the unbelievers, and what it promises the martyr after death, are central causes. So why is it defamation to say what we can empirically prove?

Two large scale terrorist attacks in two days, likely all Islamic: Egypt and Turkey

Today in Egypt, a large bomb went off near a Coptic cathedral. Surprisingly, the Washington Post, normally not prone to report Islamic discrimination against everyone else, actually gives a brief background on how they treat the Copts historically, with the report of the explosion. The Trump effect? An analysis would tell.

Tundra Tabloids has some content on the attack.

25 dead:

Major bomb blast outside soccer stadium in Turkey:

Bloodbath in Istanbul: Terrorists kill at least 38 and wound another 166 in machine gun and twin bomb attack on Turkish riot police outside major Istanbul soccer match

Twin blasts rocked Istanbul this evening, with a car bomb detonating at a football stadium as a suicide attacker struck at a nearby park, killing 38 people and injuring 166 more.

‘Two bombings may have taken place according to our understanding: one outside the stadium… the other at Macka Park,’ Turkey’s Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said.

‘The explosion at Macka Park is believed to have been carried out by a suicide bomber,’ he added.

The Turkish government imposed a media ban in the wake of the blasts, citing ‘national security’ concerns.

Turkish site, Hurriyetdaily covers this attack, likely from the Islamic State, here.

(Apparently Kurds have taken responsibility for this attack)

Egypt’s Al Sisi creates another tectonic level event with Al Azhar imams

It would appear that Egypt’s president Al Sisi has laid down the law with the graduates of the most powerful and prestigious academy of Islamic thought in the world. Al Azhar in Egypt. Notice all the Santa hats in the audience. Each one of them is an Al Azhar grad.

This looks a lot like he is explaining to them what exactly is going to be taught in mosques by these guys. It is at least, a viable strategy as opposed to the one of pretending that this is what they teach already.

Gates of Vienna has this to say on it here.

Egypt clamps down on mosques to control the message

Once again, Egypt seems to have a better grasp of islam and its potential danger than Western nations do. It is not incompatible with freedom of speech to not allow religions to break conspiracy laws and advocation to genocide etc. in mosques. The problem isn’t accommodating Islam and free speech. The problem has been allowing islam to have exceptions to laws the rest of us are subject to.

Imagine if the same standards were applied to muslims that are applied to the created of Java and former chairman of the board of Mozilla. There wouldn’t be a muslim so much as delivering pizza.

Egypt, Muslim Brotherhood terror and the US government position

More proof that the Egyptian government is correct and that the US government is way way wrong.

Egyptian Government Interior Ministry: Brotherhood protest leaders will be executed

“the penalty for leading a Muslim Brotherhood demonstration will be the death sentence, even if it is a woman.”

The harsh move comes in accordance with yesterday’s declaration of the Broterhood a terrorist organization, which was issued after the car bombing in Mansoura that killed at least 15 people “

(This actually proves that the current Egyptian government is actually non-sexist. Equal rights means equal responsibilities)
