Defence chiefs fight plans to build £3m giant mosque that ‘will loom over Sandhurst’

 MAILONLINE… Generals are trying to block plans to build a mosque with two 100ft minarets next to Sandhurst.

The £3million building would have a clear view over the military academy and is just 400 yards from its parade ground.

Senior officers oppose the project saying it could pose a security threat to cadets.

Yesterday an Army source said: ‘This has gone right to the top of the chain of command.

‘There is very real concern that if this thing gets built then soldiers could be put at risk.

‘It is outrageous to even think that the officers of the future would have to watch their backs while they are still in training.’

Hundreds of newly-commissioned Army officers take to the parade ground each year for the academy’s passing out ceremony.

The event attracts senior members of the Royal Family, including the Queen when her grandson Prince Harry was commissioned in 2006.

The gigantic mosque is the idea of the Bengali Welfare Association, which worships at the al-Kharafi Islamic Centre in Camberley, Surrey.

The group wants to demolish a listed Victorian school building in use as a mosque at the centre and replace it with a sprawling Saudi Arabian-style building.

Planning papers reveal that the massive structure would tower over local buildings.

As well as the two minarets, it would feature a large central dome, five smaller outlying domes, a morgue, a library and a separate worship area for women.

The first attempt at securing planning approval led to objections from 1,000 locals. Planning officers were also opposed but Conservative-dominated Surrey Heath gave the mosque the go-ahead last month.

However, a procedural error means the application now needs to go to a full council meeting for approval.

And the Ministry of Defence – which initially had no objections – has its mind to insist that the minarets are not built.

Local MEP Nigel Farage of UKIP, who is battling the plans, said: ‘I am appalled that a local council can totally ignore the wishes of the overwhelming majority of the electorate of Camberley and overturn the recommendations of planning officers.

‘This building is quite simply inappropriate and gives rise to genuine security concerns.

‘I know that senior military officers are extremely concerned about this. It simply cannot be allowed to go ahead.’

Alan Kirkland, a local campaigner, said: ‘Local people are simply flabbergasted that 100ft high minarets can be built right next to the Royal Military Academy.

‘There is obviously a security risk and there is no way that it should be built.’

A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: ‘Defence Estates has objected to the plans as such a tall building would give oversight into Defence property which could prove a security risk.’

Egypt: Synagogue Targeted For Bombing

A man attempted to bomb a synagogue in Cairo on Feb. 21, but the device failed to explode, according to Egyptian officials, Voice of America reported. The officials said the man had checked into a hotel across the street from the synagogue, and threw a suitcase holding several containers of gasoline, a one-liter bottle of sulfuric acid, cotton, a match and a cigarette lighter at the synagogue from his hotel window. The device burned briefly but did not explode, and no one was injured. The man left the scene of the incident and Egyptian police have said they are looking for him. The synagogue is located on a busy street in downtown Cairo.

Arizona Prosecutors Won’t Seek Death Penalty in Honor Killing

 PAJAMASMEDIA… Remember the case in which Faleh al-Maleki, an Iraqi-American father brutally ran over his daughter, Noor, in Arizona, then attempted to escape but was apprehended in Britain and returned to face justice?

Guess what’s just happened? The Arizona prosecutors have been scared off seeking the death penalty. Public defender Billy Little raised the specter of “How will it look for Christians to execute a Muslim?”

I kid you not.

Billy Little asked the judge to “take special precautions to ensure the County Attorney’s Office wouldn’t wrongly seek the death penalty because Almaleki is a Muslim.” Little called for an “open process (to) provide some level of assurance that there is no appearance that a Christian is seeking to execute a Muslim for racial, political, religious or cultural beliefs,” referring to County Attorney Andrew Thomas’ Christian faith.

Whoa!

Words fail me here. Are Christian lawyers, by definition, hopelessly biased against Muslims? This is a fact not in evidence. Is the public defender Christian? Why should this matter in America? What if the judge is Christian? Does Billy Little understand that Muslim judges do not usually prosecute men who honor murder their wives, sisters, or daughters?

But prithee pause. Allow me to take another approach. If Billy Little is that concerned with not shedding Muslim blood: Faleh al-Maleki is a Muslim who also killed a Muslim; he rode right over his daughter with a two-ton jeep. Is her female Muslim blood cheaper than his male Muslim blood? And, let’s not forget: Al-Maleki attempted to murder another Muslim woman who was sheltering his daughter.

Little also rattled his sword about the importance of keeping “religion” out of the proceeding…while simultaneously using the defendant’s religion to insist that his life be spared! In any event, even most Islamists insist that Islam has nothing to do with honor killings, that it is a tribal custom, one that existed long before Islam arose. (And, I must add, a custom which all-mighty Islam has been unable or unwilling to abolish).

Fine. Keep religion out of it if you must. Call it a dirty tribal custom. But let’s be honest. You just don’t see many Buddhists, Jews, or Christians killing their daughters because they refuse to remain in arranged marriages or because they want to lead independent lives. This was precisely why al-Maleki killed his daughter.

According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, Al Maleki is still being charged with first degree murder, aggravated assault, and two counts of leaving the scene of a serious accident.

So: Why have the prosecutors backed down? Has the same politically correct culture that has so fatally infected the American military (Fort Hood, etc.) infected the prosecutor’s office as well? Are Arizonians unconsciously guilty about living on indigenous Apache and Navajo land and see al-Maleki as a symbol of indigenous cultures?

I am not a huge fan of the death penalty; it is applied in racially biased ways and innocent people have been executed. And yet: Do the prosecutors really believe that being sentenced to life in prison (as an “honorable” man) will deter the next dishonorable honor killer in our midst, to whom his miserable, misogynist concept of “honor” is more important than life? Certainly, far more important than female life.

Food poisoning plot at U.S. military base might be linked to wider network

CANADAFREEPRESS… Reports are emerging that up to five Muslim Arabic translators who are part of an Arabic translation program identified as “09 Lima” at the Fort Jackson, SC U.S. Military training facility were questioned and detained last December regarding a plan to poison the food supply at the military base.  The program consists of individuals whose “first” language is Arabic. They are categorized, according to the U.S. Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) code, as translators/interpreters.

News reports cite Chris Grey, a spokesman for the Army’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID), speaking to Fox News and local affiliates that the investigation began two months ago although so far, “there is no credible information to support the allegations.”
According to a military source at the installation speaking to this investigator on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitive and ongoing nature of this investigation, however, paints a somewhat different picture. According to this source, “hints of an alleged plot to poison the food supply at the military installation was uncovered during the course of another, unrelated investigation into the disappearance of five Washington, DC area Muslims who went missing in late November, and who are believed to have traveled abroad for Islamic jihad training.”
Initially, one of the Arabic translators at Fort Jackson was believed to have been in contact with at least one of the five missing Muslim students. The investigation developed from there, and ‘some level of communication’ was discovered to suggest a plan to poison the food supply at the base. Although never put into action, the investigation widened as it appeared to involve at last three to four additional Arabic translators, all Muslims specifically recruited for the army’s translation program,” stated this source.

This source added that while the plan “was discovered at it’s most early stages, it is still a matter of grave concern”.

News of the alleged plot comes on the heels an extensive reports of Islamic jihad infiltration in American prison and military installations.

Hasan at Fort Hood. It is a fantastic speech as is Allen West’s #3. Take or make the time and watch. Stratfor: Venezuela: Chavez Discusses Peasant Militias

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said Feb. 21 in a newspaper article he wrote that the government will create peasant-based militias through the country’s rural and agricultural regions. Chavez said that the groups, organized by the Venezuelan military, will be responsible for protecting poor farmers from vigilante groups allegedly hired and organized by wealthy landowners. The militias will also be tasked with helping the military prepare for any possible foreign invasion.

This is now what the Brits are calling a success story.

Short version. The murder of innocents during 9/11 and 7-7 inspire a British Muslim to travel to Pakistan and join in the killing. Young Muslim gets wounded and realizes this is no game and I don’t want to play anymore. British media reports it as proof that jihadists can be de-radicalized.

TIMESONLINE… It took months to get to the man I must call “Kasim”. I’d heard about a wannabe British jihadist who had been injured in a US drone attack in Waziristan, Pakistan, but he was not easy to find, and, once found, he was clearly uneasy. With good reason. There are probably many people far scarier than me who would like to meet him.

We met in Blackpool on a filthy day, in the pouring rain, when the sky was as dark as the sea. I guessed he was in his mid-twenties. He wore a baseball cap pulled well down over his eyes as we walked between the great iron gantries of the pier and talked.

Like many young Muslims who embrace extreme Islam, Kasim — who was born in Britain — didn’t come from a deprived area or a poor family. His parents were middle-class Pakistanis. Kasim rebelled, dated girls, went clubbing, drank alcohol and smoked cannabis — but never told his parents. Had they known, they would probably have placed him under curfew.

Nonetheless, he was essentially a typical British teenager — until 9/11 changed everything. “It was the catalyst. It gave me the hunger to learn more about Islam,” he says. His journey to jihad began with sampling different mosques in search of the “peacefulness” he believed would guarantee his path to paradise. “I realised that there were 73 different sects in Islam — only one was going to paradise and the rest were going to hellfire.” Continue Reading →

Police with machine guns raid homes of EDL leadership

In a raid reminiscent of the grotesque overkill on the raid of the private home of Dutch cartoonist, Gregorious Necschot, where police stated at him emphatically, ‘this is the end of your anonymity’ in effect, sentencing him before any kind of trial can take place, British police have raided the home of the leadership of the EDL with machine guns and other symbols of a repressive state given the actual threat involved.

Today, members of the English Defence League were arrested and denied their civil liberties when attempting to join the Scottish Defence League for a peaceful protest in Edinburgh. The EDL Leadership Team were detained without cause and arrested for “incitement to cause a breach of the peace”. Supporters who arrived at Waverley train station were forced back onto trains heading away from Edinburgh by the Police. Those travelling by road were stopped; some had their vehicles damaged by aggressive Police officers. In the City itself, the Police threatened anyone who attempted to protest with immediate arrest. Meanwhile, far-left so-called ‘anti-fascism’ protesters were allowed to wander the streets without any Police opposition. These same protesters made numerous attempts to attack EDL and SDL supporters, while nearby Police officers turned a blind eye. It is clear that today’s Police actions were politically motivated and that the Police Force as a whole can no longer be considered to be politically neutral. They have chosen their side. No further confirmation is needed other than the statement of the Scottish ‘Justice’ Minister, Kenny MacAskill (SNP), when he said that the “fact that the SDL didn’t make it out of Waverley Station is testament to good policing”.

When the Scottish Defence League attempt to reassert their civil right of freedom of association, we, the English Defence League, shall once again support them. Todays actions by the police are nothing short of a travesty for democracy, how can the police take action that flies in the face of the European convention of human rights? How are they allowed to act with impunity to subdue the right to freedom of speech and protest as outlined in the universal declaration of human rights. We have duly noted the following contraventions of this declaration that are as follows….

Article 2.
Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.

Article 7.
All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination.

We seek the government and the police to examine article 30 in particular as the actions of today are in serious breach of the universal Declaration Of Human Rights.

We cannot stand idly by and allow the forces of fascism to take over our country. Our ancestors fought for their civil liberties and we shall do the same. When we return it will be in greater numbers. If we are again denied our civil liberties and our basic freedoms, by fascist forces, we will not give up. We will return again and again and again. We will keep returning until our rights are acknowledged and restored. If freedom is denied to us now, it can and will be denied to anyone and everyone else sooner or later. We will never surrender our freedom to fascists, whether they call themselves ‘ministers’ or call themselves ‘police’ or call themselves ‘anti-fascists’! Indeed, Winston Churchill said that the next wave of fascists would call themselves ‘anti-fascists’; today, to Britain’s shame, Churchill was once again proven right.

The EDL and our sister Defence Leagues will be gathering in London, at the Houses of Parliament on Friday the 5th of March (2pm), to show our support for another great man who is fighting against modern-day fascism: the Dutch MP Geert Wilders. All are welcome to join us. Our righteous forces of freedom will always triumph over those who support tyranny.

On Saturday 20th February 2010 Members of the leadership team of the English Defence League were arrested as they traveled to Scotland to support the Scottish Defence League demonstration.

While in custody the team members homes and families homes were raided by police armed with automatic machine guns which terrified the leaderships family which included small children and other older family members. Computer equipment was seized during the 3 hour raid.

Leadership team members were banned from attending any meeting with more than 3 edl members then bailed to return to a police station in Sheffield in the near future.

We are asking every member of the EDL to be available to protest outside the police station when the team has to answer bail. (date to be confirmed).

We need to get the message across that we will not be silenced by being bullied by the authorities and our struggle against muslim extremism will continue.

We have agreed to cancel the Bradford demo as a small concession but will be announcing further protests as a result of the disgraceful treatment of our leadership team.

This is a call to mobilization.

We need every single person who supports the EDL to stand up and be counted and when required we need you to take to the streets in a peaceful and law abiding manner to support our leadership. More details will be released regarding demonstrations in the very near future.

If any EDL Members are arrested by the police please let EDL Media know as soon as possible as we are forming a group action and will be making an official complaint to the authorities in the near future.

The Dutch ruling-parliament has fallen, or as we say in Dutch ”Het kabinet is gevallen” this means that the political coalition between the 3 ruling parties have fallen into such an disagreement that they thought it was wise to hold new elections. It is the third time this has happened this decade with an extra emergency ruling-parliament to fill in the gaps.

The first time was after the assassination of Pim Fortuyn. The Dutch people who felt anger and resentment voted his party into office in enormous numbers, making it with 26 seats, the second largest party in the Netherlands, only half the number the Christian-Democrats got who are traditionally the biggest party in the Netherlands.

The introduction of an anti-immigration and center-left party into the Dutch parliament caused disagreements, the LPF which was run by Fortuyn before his death needed a large amount of ministers to take the extra governmental seats, party leadership changed and eventually without the charismatic leadership of Fortuyn, the different political viewpoints within the LPF could not be united and the ruling-parliament fell on the day that Prins Claus was buried.

The second time was about disagreements between heads of one of the ruling parties called D66 and Ayaan Hirsi Ali affair and the fact that she lied about her Dutch nationality. The liberal-right D66 disagreed about the Uruzgan mission (Afghanistan), the votingblok of the D66 disagreed about the relaxed attitude that Pechhold held against Verdonks immigration policies and the cabinet fell again. The man convicted of the Lockerbie bombing is living with his family in a luxury villa in Libya six months after he was released from jail on compassionate grounds because he had less than three months to live.

Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, who is suffering from terminal prostate cancer, no longer receives hospital treatment after ending the course of chemotherapy that he had been given after returning to his homeland last August.

Professor Karol Sikora, the London-based doctor who examined Megrahi and predicted he would be dead by last October, admitted this weekend that the fact the bomber is still alive might be “difficult” for the families of the 270 victims of the attack.

The latest disclosure will incense many of the relatives of those who died in the bomb blast in December 1988 when Pan Am Flight 103 exploded in mid air over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing 243 passengers, 16 crew and 11 people on the ground.

When she first arrived in Sweden after her rescue from a Nazi concentration camp, Judith Popinski was treated with great kindness.

She raised a family in the city of Malmo, and for the next six decades lived happily in her adopted homeland – until last year.

In 2009, a chapel serving the city’s 700-strong Jewish community was set ablaze. Jewish cemeteries were repeatedly desecrated, worshippers were abused on their way home from prayer, and “Hitler” was mockingly chanted in the streets by masked men.

“I never thought I would see this hatred again in my lifetime, not in Sweden anyway,” Mrs Popinski told The Sunday Telegraph.

“This new hatred comes from Muslim immigrants. The Jewish people are afraid now.” Continue Reading →
