Ship seized trying to smuggle migrants into Canada

CTV NEWS…Seventy-six would-be migrants have been taken into custody in Victoria after the RCMP commandeered the ship that had been carrying them off the coast of British Columbia.

The RCMP vessels Higgitt and Lindsay, and the Canadian Navy frigate HMCS Regina, escorted the ship to port after it was intercepted.

The vessel was sailing under the name of “Ocean Lady.” Its crew is reportedly Canadian, and its passengers are believed to be from Sri Lanka.

Both passengers and crew were in good health, considering they had been at sea for some time, the Canada Border Services Agency’s Rob Johnston said at a news conference.

“Even though we’re satisfied, we are making arrangements for medical examinations as we process them through,” Johnston said.

Crowds of people gathered along the water where the ship docked. However, officials put up tarps to keep the vessel and its cargo out of sight.

“Each passenger came off one by one, rather than all coming down at once,” said CTV’s Jim Beattie. “They have all been interviewed, processed, checked for health concerns.”

The passengers are of varying ages, he said, but officials were not saying whether there were children on board.

Ottawa has indicated it was tipped off about the approaching ship by its “security partners.”

“We believe this has been an operation for a week at least as they’ve watched this vessel head towards North America,” Beattie said.

Pictures of the “Ocean Lady” released by the RCMP show people wearing civilian clothes, waving to a helicopter overhead.

“The RCMP took steps to intervene with close support of the Canadian Forces and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA),” Minister of Public Safety Peter Van Loan said in a statement. “An RCMP Emergency Response Team trained in maritime intervention boarded and took control of the vessel.”

There were preliminary indications that the ship originated in Sri Lanka, Van Loan added.

Officials in Ottawa said the passengers will be detained for the time being. They will be moved from Victoria to Vancouver in the coming days, where authorities will determine what to do with the group.

Opposition to anti-extremist Islam march

Supporting extremist Islam is now the norm for left wing liberals in Britain while condemning is, well, condemned. Anyone else confused?

Welsh Defense League BBCNEWS…Around 200 people gathered to protest about a demonstration against Islamic extremism by the Welsh Defence League (WLD) in Swansea.

It was in reaction to around 60 members of the WLD staging a march in the city.

Despite police hopes the two groups would stage marches in different areas of the city, they converged.

Around 200 police, some on horses, kept the groups apart. One man, 25, was arrested for a racially aggravated public order offence.

Roads were closed in order for the demonstrations to go ahead.

Speaking before its demonstration, the WLD said its event would be peaceful, but protests by its sister organisation the English Defence League have ended in disorder.

Welsh Secretary Peter Hain has accused the WDL of using “boot boy tactics”.

But the WLD denied being racist and called Mr Hain’s comments “nonsense”.

A number of opposition groups were involved in the counter-demonstration.

Police had hoped the two groups would hold separate demonstrations. But despite their efforts, the groups came within close proximity of each other.

Dozens of officers lined the streets, included several officers on horses in order to keep the protest groups apart.

“When you bring two groups together… there’s going to be passion, and that’s what we have had today,” said Ch Supt Mark Mathias during the demonstrations.

“So far it has been mostly peaceful.

“Originally we did two protest sites – two assembly points. We did think we could have two distinct locations either side of the city.

“Obviously that hasn’t happened but so far, both groups have been kept separate.”

Speaking after the event, he said: “I am pleased with the success the police operation today, which allowed the protests to pass off peacefully, whilst taking into the account the rights of the people of Swansea to go about their normal business.

“I would to thank them for patience and understanding for any disruption that was caused.

“People have the right to protest but overall the safety of the public and maintaining order is a priority.”

It is understood a second WDL protest planned in Newport next weekend has been called off.

Man arrested after mosque attack

As tensions between Muslims and Britons begin to flare I am afraid we will begin to see more tit for tat attacks in the future. This is a direct result of the British government using the long arm of the law to silence the public concern over the Islamization of the U.K.

BBCNEWS…A 53-year-old man has been arrested after petrol was thrown at the doorway of a mosque in Wearside.

The petrol was not ignited and did not set fire at the mosque in Chester Road, Sunderland.

The building was empty and no-one was hurt in the incident, which happened in the early hours of Friday morning.

Police investigations include viewing CCTV footage, forensic analysis and DNA testing. Extra officers are patrolling to address residents’ concerns.

A multi-million pound government scheme designed to prevent the radicalisation of young British Muslims is being used to gather intelligence about innocent people not suspected of terrorism involvement, it was claimed.

The “Preventing Violent Extremism”, also known as Prevent, was launched three years ago as part of the Government’s four “Ps” anti-terror agenda – Prevent, Pursue, Protect and Prepare.

It was designed to stop people being lured to al-Qaida ideology, prevent the radicalisation and committing acts of terrorism.

But reports have suggested the programme was instead being used to used to gather intelligence about innocent people who are not suspected of involvement in terrorism.

Critics criticised the scheme as being Britain’s biggest spying programme and a breach of civil liberties.

The Institute of Race Relations said the Prevent scheme had been used “to establish one of the most elaborate systems of surveillance ever seen in Britain”.

Some involved in the programme told the Guardian of their fears that they are being co-opted into spying.

Several sources involved in the programme reportedly said it gathered intelligence about the thoughts and beliefs of Muslims who were not involved in criminal activity.

Among the topics asked included gathering information about the sexual, religious and political views of innocent people as well as information about their mental health.

Ed Husain, of the Islamic think tank, the Quilliam Foundation, said: “It is gathering intelligence on people not committing terrorist offences.”

Shami Chakrabarti, the director of civil-rights group Liberty, criticised the project.

“It is the biggest domestic spying programme targeting the thoughts and beliefs of the innocent in Britain in modern times,” she said.

“It is information-gathering directed at the innocent and the spying is directed at people because of their religion, and not because of their behaviour.”

A Home Office spokesman said: “Any suggestion that Prevent is about spying is simply wrong. Prevent is about working with communities to protect vulnerable individuals and address the root causes of radicalisation.”

A few words: Firstly, a few people have asked me why my posting has been light on VTB recently.

The reasons are twofold. Firstly, I have had massive computer problems and secondly I have been working, when my computer was up, with an excellent team to translate and subtitle the fantastic documentary never before seen in English for you all.

Firstly, the idea was from a wonderful youtuber called ‘STOPshariaLAWnow’ who felt that this was such an important documentary she wanted to find anyone and everyone who could help her translate and title. She sent it to me, and I sent it to the team and they agreed it was worth the effort. V.H. did a fantastic job of translating, and The Baron at GOV edited the notes and I subtitled and fixed a few minor edits in the original file.

If you think the UN disgusted you before, wait till you see this. Clearly the OIC, Organization of Islamic Countries, Council, Congress whatever, has corrupted far far more than merely the hilarious ‘Human Rights Council’ but UNICEF and other agencies there are basically front men for Islamic global conquest.

Iraq sends back UK asylum flight

BBCNEWS…Iraqi asylum seekers sent back to Baghdad by the UK government have been refused re-entry to their homeland, and flown back to Britain.

The flight, carrying about 40 asylum seekers, landed in Baghdad on Thursday. Ten were admitted but the rest were turned away and have now arrived back.

Human rights group Refugee and Migrant Justice said this was “unprecedented”.

The Home Office said it was working with the Iraqi government to iron out issues that caused some to be returned.

The reason for their return, it said, was a matter for the Iraqi authorities.

It is understood that about 80 escorts were also aboard the government-chartered flight.

The asylum seekers are now at Brook House detention centre near Gatwick airport where they are being given legal advice, according to a Refugee and Migrant Justice spokeswoman.

She said: “One would have expected with such a high profile remove, the Home Office would have sorted this out with the Iraqi authorities.

“For such a high profile group to be returned is unprecedented.”

 Indonesia… Banda Aceh. A controversial bill that includes a provision for the stoning to death of adulterers is now officially law, even without the signature of the Aceh governor, a local councilor said on Thursday.

The draft of the Qanun Jinayat Code, a set of bylaws that replaces elements of the Criminal Code with Shariah provisions for Muslims, was endorsed by the Aceh Legislative Council on Sept. 14.

The measures call for the stoning of adulterers and 100 lashes for anyone caught engaging in premarital sex, among its other punishments.

The ratification of the bill has been sharply criticized by human rights activists, and Governor Irwandi Yusuf reportedly refused to sign it into law.

Moharriadi Syafari, a councilor from the Muslim-based Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), said the main reason for the law was to “save” people in Aceh from acts not approved by religion.

“Human rights activists should not see the Qanun Jinayat from a narrow-minded perspective, as though it breaches human rights, because basically Islamic law has a high respect for human rights,” Syafari said.

He said the bill automatically became law 30 days after being endorsed by the council despite the governor’s refusal to endorse the measure. Continue Reading →

MOGADISHU (Reuters)

Somalia’s hardline Islamist group al-Shabaab has publicly whipped women for wearing bras they say violate Islam by constituting a deception, north Mogadishu residents said on Friday.

The insurgent group, which seeks to impose a strict form of sharia Islamic law throughout Somalia, amputated a foot and a hand each from two young men accused of robbery earlier this month. They have also banned movies, musical ringtones, dancing at wedding ceremonies and playing or watching soccer.

For the very first time I am considering the possibility that David Icke may be right and the world is actually ruled by ‘Lizard people’. One would hope though that technologically advanced people would be able to create better disguises. Or perhaps the batteries are wearing down on this one’s ‘woman suit’.  Of less concern than that this woman seems to be a human-lizard-alien hybrid, is that she feels that Mao is her political hero and inspiration.

There really is no way to talk oneself out of that. One can admire a persons accomplishments or specific things that may have said, but to call them your favorite philosopher over all pretty much means you agree with them. When ‘them’ is one of histories largest ever mass murderers, we have a serious problem in the White House.

Wilders receives Islamic welcome in UK

Geert-Wilders-04_629791a TIMESONLINE…A far-right Dutch politician who was turned away from Britain after criticising the Koran as a ‘fascist book’ was today forced to hastily change the location of a scheduled press conference in London in the interests of his own security.

Geert Wilders, who is head of the Freedom Party, flew into Heathrow airport this morning after winning a court battle to enter the country.

Mr Wilders had been due to host a press conference on College Green, opposite the Palace of Westminster, at noon.

However, about thirty male activists from a group called Islam for UK began chanting: “Wilders burn in hell” and “Sharia for UK”.

Brandishing banners saying, “Sharia is the solution, freedom go to hell” and “Geert Wilders deserves Islamic punishment”, the protesters were held back by about fifty policemen.

Mr Wilders was advised not to confront or walk past the protesters and instead to hold his press conference in the nearby Abbey Gardens building used by members of the House of Lords.

Mr Wilders told journalists that he lived under constant security because of his views. Explaining his controversial views on Islam, he said: “I have a problem with the Islamic ideology, the Islamic culture, because I feel that the more Islam that we get in our societies the less freedom that we get.” Continue Reading →

Five men convicted of terror plot in Australia’s longest trial

A court in Australia has found five men guilty of stockpiling bomb-making instructions and purchasing explosive chemicals as part of a plot to carry out a terrorist attack, bringing an end to one of the country’s longest running trials.

The jury deliberated for a month before finding the men guilty of conspiring to commit acts in preparation for a terrorist attack. Each face a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Abdul Hasan, Khaled Cheikho, Mohamed Elomar, Mohammed Jamal and Moustafa Cheikho have been in custody for nearly four years after they were arrested during raids on their homes in south-west Sydney in 2005.

During the 10-month trial, which started in November after eight months of pre-trial hearings, prosecutor Richard Maidment told the jury in the New South Wales Supreme Court that the men planned to use explosive devices or firearms to commit “extreme violence” in a bid to force Australia’s government to change its policy on Middle East conflicts. The target of the attack has never been released.

The Crown argued the men were stockpiling chemicals, firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition. It said they were influenced by the teachings of the Mujahadeen: “You kill us, we kill you … you bomb us, so we bomb you”.

Prosecutors said three of the men had taken part in paramilitary-style camps in far western New South Wales to prepare for an attack. The defence claimed the men were just camping.

The jury was also told that one of the accused, Moustafa Cheikho, had attended a paramilitary training camp in Pakistan run by the terrorist organisation, Lashkar-e-Toiba, but a key FBI witness told the court he could not be sure it was the man.

The jury heard from 300 witnesses, examined 3,000 exhibits, watched 30 days of surveillance tapes and listened to 18 hours of phone intercepts. However, no direct evidence was ever shown to the jury to link the accused men to the plot or the supposed target of the terrorist act and the proescution admitted the evidence was circumstantial.

Despite this, the jury was convinced that there was sufficient proof that the men were involved in a conspiracy to prepare for a terrorist act that according to authorities, was intended to create “maximum damage”.

The trial took place in a specially-built high-security court building in Sydney’s west.

There, the verdict was greeted with anger by supporters of the men. The group of supporters started shouting their protest as they watched the ruling being handed down on a screen outside the court.
