Welcome to Obama’s America, where Islam represents the favored religion and a vital political force.
The transformed land of liberty was very much on view at the 14th Annual Arab International Festival in Dearborn, Michigan from June 19 to 21. Most readers, in this day of two-bit journalism and bughouse blogs, might dismiss the following account as phantasmagorical, save for the fact that friends of the Last Crusade has managed to capture the gala event on video. Click, watch, and scream.
The event was sponsored not only by the Ford Motor Company (we thought they were bankrupt) and the American Arab Chamber of Commerce but also (get this) by the FBI, the CIA and various representatives of the U.S. Military.
The 250,000 people who attended the event munched on rolled pita sandwiches, shawarma, tabouli, hummus and baklava. The men, in many cases, wore throbs and ghutras; the women were draped in black burqas, or western jeans, accented with veils.
The ribbon cutting, which got the festival underway, was conducted by State Senator Irma Clarke Coleman, Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano, and Dearborn Mayor Jack O’Reilly.

Representatives from the all branches of the U.S. Military – – Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force Armed forces – – promised American citizenship to every Mid-Eastern immigrant willing to enlist – – as long as they were Muslims – – Christians and Jews were excluded from the offer. G.I. Issued uniforms were emblazoned with Arabic script in case prospective recruits could not understand terms such as “United States Army”.

The few Christians, who dared to venture forth on Warren Street to attend the festive gathering, were prohibited by law from distributing religious tracts and materials.
The order, which prohibited religious freedom to the Christians, came from U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmonds.
While there never has been a disruption of the public peace by Christians during the annual event, the Dearborn police kept vigilant watch for any Baptist or Pentecostal intrepid enough to violate the ruling to suppress their religious freedom.
No such stout-hearted soul appeared with tract, rosary, or Bible in hand, except for an inspired group of young Arab Christians and ex-Muslims. Rick Warren’s disciples and the Joel Osteen militia were conspicuously absent as innocent Christians were set upon with violence and threats.

Islamist teacher living in Canada illegally

Pakistani scholar Farhat Hashmi entered Canada in October 2004 on a visitor’s visa, has twice been denied permission to work, and was ordered to leave the country in September 2005. Yet she is still here. In the meantime, she has founded al-Huda Islamic Centre of Canada, a girls’ school in Mississauga where she teaches a strict Islamist interpretation of the Koran.
Moderate Muslims believe her lessons encourage extremist views among her students in Mississauga — the same Toronto suburb where many of the 17 men arrested last month on terrorism-related charges grew up and allegedly developed into radicals. Some of those young men’s militant views are reputed to have been influenced by their ideologically inclined wives.
A charismatic figure who cloaks her face and body in orthodox garb, Hashmi amassed considerable wealth in the 1990s by establishing a chain of religious schools across Pakistan. Focusing her instruction on young Westernized women from monied families who had hitherto preferred a pair of jeans to the hijab, Hashmi became famous converting them to a stricter form of Islam. Stories abound of young Muslim party girls changing their ways after just a few lectures, donning the black veils that Hashmi is said to make available for purchase at her schools, along with her lectures in print, audio and DVD formats. “Her network of schools in Pakistan caters exclusively to the upper class,” says Tarek Fatah, of the Muslim Canadian Congress. “And that is where she is turning women into mothers who are then converting their sons into extremists.”
Ms Hashmi encourages her girls to allow their husbands to marry more than once. She has also taught that an earthquake in Kashmir was divine punishment for “immoral activities”. Hmmmm. Islamists seem to have a penchant for attributing natural disasters to God’s vengeance against certain degenerates and reprobates.
The basis of Ms Hashmi’s work permit application was an offer of employment from the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which still wants her to stay to teach Muslim girls.
Mohammad Ashraf, secretary general of ISNA Canada and the man who signed Hashmi’s letter of employment, defended her. “We need people like her — men and women who really teach what the Koran says,” he told Maclean’s. “These people who are criticizing her, they are just going around the bush because they don’t practise Islam themselves.”
Wajid Khan, Liberal MP for Mississauga-Streetsville, wants her gone pronto. He doesn’t understand why the immigration bureaucracy hasn’t acted on the eviction letter delivered nine months ago. He’s not the only one.
Gang leader gets life for killing Parisian Jew
Another Muslim that says, “Screw that religion of peace crap. Let’s kill us some Jews.”
Youssouf Fofana has been sentenced to life in prison for the brutal murder of a 23-year-old Jewish man in 2006. Another 26 members of the so-called Gang of Barbarians were also charged in connection with the crime – 24 received jail sentences. Emma Jane Kirby has been following the 10-week trial.
On 29 April gang leader Youssouf Fofana, 28, took his seat in court, smiling defiantly and declaring: “Allah would be victorious.”
After more than two months of closed-door hearings, Mr Fofana, rejecting any help from lawyers, was allowed to express his opinion in court for the last time.
“It’s better to live like a lion for one day than to live like a sheep for 100,” he declared.
Mr Fofana, a gang leader from just outside Paris, stood accused of the murder of Ilan Halimi, a young Jewish man who worked in a mobile phone shop.
It was alleged that Mr Fofana instructed a female gang member to lure Mr Halimi into an empty apartment in Bagneux, where he was attacked, beaten and drugged.
Ransom
Mr Fofana is said to have targeted Mr Halimi because he believed that “Jews are loaded”.
During his three-week ordeal, Mr Halimi’s family were sent harrowing images and video recordings by his captors who demanded a ransom of 450,000 euros ($600,000; £405,000) for his release.
The victim was eventually found naked and tied to a tree near a railway. He had been stabbed and set alight. He died on his way to hospital.
Mr Halimi’s distraught mother had asked for this trial to be held in public.
But because some of the 26 people accused of participating in this crime were minors, proceedings have been held behind closed doors.
More than 160 witnesses have given evidence and 50 experts have testified during the trial.
The French-born son of immigrants from Ivory Coast, Mr Fofana was the only member of the Barbarians gang facing a life sentence if found guilty.
He was charged with kidnap, torture, premeditated murder and anti-Semitism.
The other gang members – young men and women – were accused of a variety of crimes, including entrapment, kidnap and failing to assist a person in peril.
All insisted that Mr Fofana had promised to release his victim when Mr Halimi’s father failed to deliver a ransom. They claimed they did not know their self-proclaimed leader would take the crime so far.
The lawyer for Mr Halimi’s family, Francis Szpiner, claimed the other gang members played a huge role in the crime and should be punished accordingly.
‘Suffering’
Prosecutors described Mr Fofana as “a perverted, immature megalomaniac”.
After Mr Halimi’s death, he fled to Ivory Coast where he is reported to have made death threats by telephone to Mr Halimi’s family.
He was extradited to France in March 2006 and initially admitted murder. But since then he has repeatedly changed his plea, and his legal team.
He has also bombarded the magistrates investigating the case with letters full of anti-Semitic insults.
In court he tried repeatedly to justify his actions by citing “the suffering of the Palestinians and Africa”.
But lawyers claimed Mr Fofana has a fuzzy knowledge of the Muslim faith. He was unable to explain the difference between a Sunni and Shia Muslim and could not recite verses from the Koran.
Expelled from court in June for throwing his shoes at lawyers, Mr Fofana has often refused to answer questions.
But 24 days into his trial, he was asked about the fatal blows that Mr Halimi suffered and he yelled: “Yes, it’s me that did it! You know very well that I did it!”
At the start of proceedings, Mr Fofana was required by the court to give his birth date.
He declared that he was born on 13 February 2006 in Sainte Genevieve des Bois – the date and place of Mr Halimi’s death.
Anti-Semitic motive?
Critics say police initially ignored evidence of anti-Semitic motives in the killing, but the Halimi family’s lawyer insists the anti-Semitic motive is indisputable.
Many in France’s Jewish community – the largest in Western Europe – say there has been a rise in anti-Semitism among disaffected Muslim youths of Arab and African origin since a Palestinian uprising started in late 2000.
But Michel Wieviorka, the author of a book on anti-Semitism in France, says the motive for the murder was money first.
“Anti-Semitism added to what happened,” he told journalists at the start of the trial.
“Initially it wasn’t about expressing hatred of Jews… the target was a Jewish man because Jews are supposed to have money and are believed to look after their own, so they’ll pay up.”
The case has come to symbolise not only a rise in anti-Semitic violence in Paris’ poor and multi-ethnic suburbs, but also the power of local gangs in the Parisian sink estates.
Lawyers for some of the gang members who are accused of failing to report the crime have defended their clients’ silence by telling the court that the “law of the estates is that you just don’t snitch”. It’s not enough they want the law of Islam taken into account. Now they want the code of criminals to be acknowledged.
These are estates, the defence lawyers insisted, that have been forgotten by France, but each gang member living there looks out for the next.
Youths riot in French town over death in custody
Another multiculturalism success story.
LYON, France (Reuters) – Youths in the southeastern French town of Firminy burned cars and destroyed a social centre on Wednesday night as protests over the death in police custody of a young man continued for a second night.
Around 200 riot police were deployed into the early hours on Thursday, with a helicopter circling overhead as groups of young people set fire to rubbish bins before moving on to torch cars and the social centre.
The protests followed the death on Wednesday of Mohamed Benmouna, a local man arrested for attempted extortion, who fell into a coma after what police said was a suicide attempt and died several hours later.
Benmouna’s family have expressed scepticism over the explanation by police who said he had used cords from a mattress to hang himself.
The state prosecutor in Saint-Etienne, the nearest major city, rejected suggestions of police abuse but said video surveillance equipment that would normally have filmed Benmouna’s cell was not functioning properly.
An autopsy has been ordered and an inquiry into the case opened by the IGPN, the police inspectorate.
Nine people were arrested on Wednesday after a night of violence on Tuesday evening when Benmouna was still alive but in a coma following the incident.
Hell’s Angels Denmark, AK81 and gang wars with immigrants

We can all expect to see more of this as governments ignore the indigenous people of Europe in favour of immigrant gangs. The inevitable consequence of this of course has to be that locals create gangs to protect their own interests even if this gang is really simply a local Danish drug dealing gang, the Hell’s Angels. The people who worked hard and educated themselves and their children to create the kind of nations that Muslim and African people seem so anxious to move to will protect themselves and their own labour’s benifits if their elected representatives will not. As Canada Day 2009, our 142nd birthday, draws to a close here in Montreal, I suppose it’s just as well I didn’t plan to attend any fireworks display, because – surprise! – it’s starting to rain. Of course, one needn’t attend fireworks displays, or march in parades or hang huge flags out one’s window in Canada to prove one’s patriotism. Indeed, our lowkey attitudes – even phlegmatism – with regard to outward signs of patriotism distinguish us from our more flamboyant neighbours to the south.
Nevertheless, like so many of my fellow citizens, no Canada Day passes without my spending a good deal of it in reflection on how blessed I and my family are to live in this great, peaceful country, as benign and well-meaning a nation as one is able to find on this troubled globe. No country is perfect, but what unmolested Canadian could fail to feel blessed in his or her good fortune?
Well, one springs to mind. Vancouver-based Omar Shaban is the Vice President for western Canada of the Canadian Arab Federation, and he is definitely not feeling the gratitude vibe. Quite the opposite. Shaban has labelled Canada a “genocidal state” and described our national holiday on Facebook as “F*** Canada Day,” adding, to be sure he had made his point, “It’s finally Canada Day…Couldn’t be more ashamed to be Canadian.” Shaban is no aberration in the CAF. As staunchly anti-Islamist Tarek Fatah reported here: “While one VP of the Canadian Arab Federation was throwing insults at Canada, another Vice President of CAF was on cable TV showering praise on the discredited leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran. the daily mail-A prison has agreed to give Muslims their own cells after they complained about sharing with other inmates.They were said to be unhappy at praying and eating near non-Muslims at Birmingham’s Winson Green jail.It is thought to be the first time inmates have been segregated by religion. Prison bosses have decided to place them with other Muslims, or give them single cells when space is available.
More than 1,400 inmates, including murderers and robbers, are housed at the jail.
‘So far around 15 Muslim inmates have been accommodated either by being moved to a cell with another Muslim or put on their own,’ said a prison source. ‘They initially asked for their own wing but this was turned down.’
In June 2006, a High Court judge warned that Ministers must find cash to cope with growing prison numbers and called for an end to forced cell sharing. Mr Justice Keith’s concerns were included in his report into the racist murder of Asian prisoner Zahid Mubarek by his cellmate Robert Stewart at Feltham Young Offenders’ Institution in West London.
The judge called for a new concept of ‘institutional religious intolerance’ to combat prejudice against Muslim inmates.
There has also been concern among the 200-strong Muslim contingent in Winson Green about the halal meat served there. It had been prepared on site but, after complaints, is now brought in by an authorised supplier at what is thought to be extra cost.
One prison officer said: ‘This has caused resentment because it is felt the Muslim inmates are getting special treatment.’
A Prison Service spokesman said: ‘Prisoner requests to share cells can be accommodated in some circumstances, such as prisoners sharing religious and dietary needs. All requests are subject to a risk assessment.’
About ten per cent of the 80,000-strong jail population in England and Wales is Muslim.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark — I am being patted down by a female Danish security officer in the basement of the parliament building in Copenhagen and I have a thought. I have just triggered the metal detector — my heels, I’m sure — en route upstairs to the Landstingssalen, formerly the parliament’s upper house. There, I am scheduled to deliver a speech at the invitation of the Danish Free Press Society, or Trykkefrihedsselskabet. (Say that three times fast — or slow.)
Indeed, I am holding the text of my 20-minute address inside a folder in one of my hands, now rigidly outstretched as I am being searched. The speech is called “The Impact of Islam on Free Speech in the U.S.,” but as I am checked for bombs and knives and whatnot, my thought is of the impact of Islam on free society everywhere.
Such a thought surely tops the heights of “political incorrectness,” I know. But what should I do — not express it? Not think it? Not even notice that Western civilization, in skewing to accommodate the jihad threat of Islam within, has already traded away too much precious freedom?
As the security officer continues patting me down, I follow this forbidden train of thought to the realization that it is only due to the incursions of Islam into the West — Islam with its death penalty for criticism of Islam — that I am now standing here under guard. Here we are (for there is a long line behind me by now), participants in a conference to consider Islam’s censoring impact on free speech, and Danish security is doing its best to prevent Islam from censoring the speech of anyone here permanently. This strikes me as an exceedingly hard way to prove a point.
Not that there are many people likely to try outside the elegant, security-ringed conference room upstairs. In PC lingo, security in the basement is looking for “terrorists” or “extremists” — those postmodern designations for perpetrators of Islamic jihad that, presto, turn everything Islamic into something generic. Still, with Islam comes jihad, and with jihad comes Islamic law (Sharia), no matter what “experts” tell you. And because Islam is a growing presence in the West, Western countries must now and presumably forever expend vast sums of money and manpower to manage — not defeat, just manage — the jihad that can break out in acts large and small at any time. Increasingly, this also means deferring to Sharia.
Finally, my pre-conference frisk is over. Hallelujah, I am no threat to society and allowed to pass. I go on to meet for the first time the great author Wafa Sultan, and meet again the great Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders, the two most illustrious speakers on the conference roster.
Both Sultan and Wilders, of course, live under unrelenting, permanent and Islamic threat of death for their critiques of Islam, in a very real way suffering every day for defying Sharia’s prohibition against criticizing Islam. But does the outrageousness of their plight resonate with their fellow citizens? I don’t think so. I think we’ve all grown much too used to it, and dully complacent. But imagine if I had written, circa 1970, that for his critique of communism, Ronald Reagan lived under unrelenting, permanent and communist threat of death in his beloved California, that he couldn’t travel the streets of Los Angeles without a massive security retinue, that he could no longer even sleep in his own home. Wouldn’t Americans have become rightly agitated over the communist enemy within?
I think the answer would have been yes, but the point is, no such mortal homeland danger existed at that time for those who spoke against the leading threat to Western-style liberty. Today, a mortal homeland danger does exist. I won’t tell you what it was like to slip in and out of the Wilders security bubble during the course of his stay in Copenhagen, but suffice it to say, it is both a veritable shame and an outrage that his life depends on that bubble, and that for speaking his mind in defense of Western-style liberty he has lost his own freedom.
The same goes for Wafa Sultan, who, for attacking the repressiveness of Islamic law (under which she existed for 30 years in Syria), also lives privately a similarly wary, hunted life that necessitates protective security measures.
Remember, this is happening in the “Free World.” Whether in Denmark, Holland or the United States, the heavy hand of Islamic law is pressing in on its leading critics, squeezing the freedom out of their existence. It is time to say enough — literally enough, for example, and stop Sharia by stopping Islamic immigration — and throw off the rising chokehold of jihad-advanced Sharia. I guarantee it will take a lot more effort than just patting down the occasional free speechnik, but I also guarantee that for the sake of free speech it is worth it.
Mich.: Witnesses May Have To Remove Veil
The Michigan Supreme Court voted Wednesday voted to give judges authority over how witnesses dress in court after a Muslim woman refused to remove her veil while testifying in a small claims case.
A statewide court rule letting judges regulate the appearance of witnesses, such as asking them to remove face coverings, was approved by a 5-2 vote. The dissenters said there should be an exception for people whose clothing is dictated by their religion.
Justices heard last month from a Muslim woman who sued because her small claims case was dismissed when she refused to remove her veil.
Hamtramck District Judge Paul Paruk told Ginnnah Muhammad he needed to see her face to judge her truthfulness. The 45-year-old from Detroit kept her niqab on during the 2006 hearing.
“If state courts can require people to remove their veils to get their driver’s license photos, they can require people to testify without a veil absent some extraordinary circumstance,” said CBS News legal analyst Andrew Cohen.
“The reason we don’t see many of these stories is that it’s absolutely fundamental in a trial for the judge and jurors and defendants to see the facial expressions of a witness who is testifying, unless that witness is in mortal danger of being identified,” said Cohen, so I think this challenge will fail.”
Some Muslim leaders interpret the Quran to require that a woman wear a headscarf, veil or burqa in the presence of a man who is not her husband or close relative.
After Muhammad sued the judge, the Michigan Judges Association and Michigan District Judges Association pressed a court rule that gave judges “reasonable” control over the appearance of parties and witnesses to observe their demeanor and ensure they can be accurately identified.
“No First Amendment right is absolute,” said Cohen, “and this one bends to other amendments which protect a defendant’s right to a fair trial, which includes allowing the judge and jury to measure the facial expressions of witnesses. So this ruling is NOT a surprise, nor particularly controversial.”
The two justices who voted against the rule Wednesday said they favored a religious exception endorsed by the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan and religious groups.
Muhammad originally went to court to contest a $3,000 charge from a rental-car company to repair a vehicle that she said thieves had broken into.
The Detroit area is home to one of the country’s largest Muslim populations. Legal observers have said the veil flap is a cutting-edge issue that will arise elsewhere in the United States.
ATHENS, June 17, 2009 (Reuters) — Two gunmen shot dead a Greek anti-terrorist policeman guarding a witness in Athens on Wednesday then fled on a motorcycle, police said.
In the worst attack since riots in December launched a wave of urban guerrilla violence in Greece, the 41-year-old officer was shot several times at close range and died in his car in the densely populated Patissia area of Athens.
“It was a cold-blooded murder … they just drew their guns and murdered him,” police spokesman Panagiotis Stathis told reporters at the scene.
The recent violence has rocked Greece’s conservative government, clinging to a one-seat majority in parliament as its popularity plummets, mainly as a result of a slowing economy.
The early morning attack was similar to the shooting of a policeman in January, claimed by the Revolutionary Struggle urban guerrillas, Greece’s most militant leftist group. That officer survived the attack.
In Wednesday’s shooting, the policeman and father of one child, had just taken over a shift guarding a witness involved in a case against an urban guerrilla group.
The unidentified attackers quickly disappeared in the streets of Patissia and a manhunt was launched in the area to locate them.
Police said there was no warning or any claim of responsibility for the attack, the latest of several against the police in Greece this year.
Leftist and anarchist guerrilla groups have launched a wave of violence against police, political and business targets since a policeman shot dead a teenager in Athens in December, prompting Greece’s worst riots in decades.
There was no immediate reaction to the attack from the government.

“Earned Citizenship” Scandal Allows Invaders Quicker Access to British Passports if They ‘Mentor a New Refugee’ or Join a Strike
The “earned citizenship” programme to be introduced in December 2010 will grant immigrants a British passport two years quicker than normal if they can show that they have “mentored a new refugee” or been active in a trade union (possibly by going on strike).
The earned citizenship programme forms part of the Government’s Borders, Immigration and Citizenship Bill which claimed that newcomers would have to “earn” the right to stay in the UK and be given a new “path to citizenship.” Initially, Government ministers had said that some form of community work such as running a local scout group would contribute towards gaining citizenship.
Now, however, the Home Office has said that immigrants will win fast track approval for British citizenship if they take part in trade union activities, canvass for political parties, volunteer for a “faith” organisation or “mentoring a newly-arrived refugee.”
Migrants who complete 50 hours of such voluntary work will be entitled to receive British citizenship after six years – two years earlier than if they do nothing. Observers point out that migrants cannot vote until they become citizens, so by offering British passports to those who take part in Labour Party-supporting trade union activities, the Government is effectively growing its own immigrant vote.
There is also no definition of what constitutes a “faith organisation” either. This would easily be simply joining the activities of a local mosque, which is part of many immigrants’ lifestyle choice in any event.
The most outrageous suggestion, however, is that an immigrant can gain two years remission off the passport application process by “mentoring a new refugee.” The absurd situation will therefore arise where immigrants – possibly ‘refugees’ or ‘asylum seekers’ can speed up their applications by aiding other ‘asylum seekers’ to settle in Britain.
As if this was not astonishing enough, the Home Office document which spells out the rules says that employers will be expected to give immigrants paid time off during working hours to complete this “voluntary service.”
The Home Office document says: “We are keen for migrants to participate in our civic and political life and we recognise the important part that political parties and trade unions play in our democracy. Canvassing and handing out leaflets will qualify as active citizenship because it includes interaction with other party members.”
