Anti-Muslim Danish MP faces charges.

The Danish parliament voted on Wednesday to remove a far-right politician’s immunity from prosecution so he can face charges over anti-Muslim comments, parliamentary sources said.

Jesper Langballe, a veteran member of the Danish People’s Party (PPD), a crucial ally of the centre-right government, wrote in a newspaper column published in January that “Muslims kill their daughters (over crimes of honour) and turn a blind eye while they are raped by their uncles”.

The column, which discussed the status of women in Islam and the “Islamisation of Europe”, triggered a political storm and his comments were condemned by Prime Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen.

The Crown Prosecutor decided to pursue Langballe on the grounds that his comments broke anti-racism laws, and sought the lifting of his parliamentary immunity.

The PPD, with the exception of Langballe, abstained from Wednesday’s vote, split between a desire to respect the law and its opposition to the anti-racism provisions, which it says go against freedom of expression.

Langballe himself voted for the lifting of immunity, as he wishes to prove the truth of his comments in court, according to Danish parliamentary television.

The date of the trial has not been set.

Facebook ‘pork party’ protest banned by Paris officials

A ‘Pork and wine party’ organised on Facebook to protest against the ‘Islamisation’ of a neighbourhood has been banned by Paris officials.

A 'pork and wine' party, organised on Facebook, has been banned by Paris officials A ‘pork and wine’ party, organised on Facebook, has been banned by Paris officials.

The event, organised on the social networking site, was planned for Friday, when the streets would be teeming with Muslims coming out of mosques.

But police cracked down on the pork-based protest and any other copycat gatherings in the Goutte d’Or area of northern Paris’ 18th arrondissement, or district.

Officials stated that the party could cause ‘serious risks to public order’. The party was following a growing trend in France to host open-air drinks parties, organised via Facebook.

The original idea for the Paris gathering came from a woman calling herself Sylvie Francois, who said that she no longer felt at home in the neighbourhood where she had lived all her life.

‘People of French origin can’t have a drink in peace there. If you are a woman you get hostile looks if you’re not wearing an (Islamic) veil,’ she stated.

Her party, who had nearly 7,000 Facebook attendees, urged users to bring a bottle of wine and a sausage.

The party was then picked up by extremist groups, who published it to other Internet sites as a response to the ‘fascist-Islamist offensive in France.’

The street party would have paraded pork and alcohol, forbidden by Islamic law, outside of a mosque on the Rue Myrha.

A ‘halal and mint tea’ party was set up on Facebook in response to the protest.

UAE: Court Sentences Teenage Gang Rape Victim to 1 Year in Prison

By R.E.A.L. Organization • on June 17, 2010

A court in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has convicted an 18 year old girl (”LH”) to one year in prison for “consensual sex.”  The UAE court convicted her because she agreed to be alone in the car with a man “YM.”

As previously reported, the teenage girl had previously alleged that she was gang raped by six men.  the UAE “The Nation” newspaper reported that LH had “12 bruises ranging from 1cm to 7 cm long on her upper lip, hands, thighs, knee, and behind her left ear.”  LH indicated that her brother had beaten her, although the beatings happened at different times.

However, after the teenage girl “LH” filed charges of rape, according to the “The Nation” on May 25, “LH” was then charged with the crime of “extramarital sex,” which could have led to a penalty of “lashes and a maximum sentence of life in prison,” with a minimum of three years in prison.  LH then pleaded with the court to allow her to withdraw the rape charges, while one of the accused rapists laughed at her in court.  According to the LA Times, LH appeared before the court “shackled and clothed in an inmate’s uniform of hunter green and a black headscarf” and “she rescinded the allegations ‘to get out of’ jail, Bloomberg Businessweek reported.”

The UAE court had reportedly considered the lesser criminal charge of “deception” against “LH,” but chose to convict of “consensual sex,” with a sentence of  1 year in prison. Continue Reading →

Drive-by killings rock Pakistan

Peter Goodspeed, National Post · Saturday, Jun. 19, 2010

Sunni and Shiite assassins on motorcycles are fomenting sectarian and ethnic violence in Karachi, Pakistan’s commercial capital, with 21 drive-by murders in the last two weeks.

The government has responded by putting troops on the streets, banning all public meetings except funerals for a month and arresting 24 hard-line Sunni activists.

Still, fears are growing one of the world’s largest Muslim cities could be plunged into a round of religiously motivated revenge killings.

Even more ominous is the possibility al-Qaeda-linked extremists are using the murders to fan ethnic and sectarian hatreds in order to undermine Pakistan’s government and make Karachi, home to 18 million people, ungovernable.

The city, Pakistan’s financial capital and main port on the Arabian Sea, was wracked by ethnic and sectarian violence for much of the 1980s and 1990s as feuds between Sunnis and Shiites erupted in riots and mass murder.

Its tumultuous politics produced equally violent confrontations between the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (United National Movement, MQM), supported by the Urdu-speaking majority population, whose ancestors migrated from India at the time of partition in 1947, and the Awami National Party (ANP), supported by the ethnic Pashtun minority.

The latest round of violence began last month with targeted assassinations of MQM and ANP activists, and attacks on the Muhajir Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, a MQM splinter group, and the Islamistsupporting Jamaat-e-Islami.

June has seen a new round of mayhem in which most of the victims were Shiites.

Two of this week’s one-dozen murders involved drive-by shootings Thursday of a doctor as he left his clinic in Karachi’s Landhi suburb and a paramilitary Pakistan Ranger in the city’s central Garden district.

In both cases, hit squads on motorcycles drew up alongside the targets and opened fire with handguns and AK47s.

Five of the most recent victims were Shiite doctors, who appear to have been picked for because of their visibility in the community.

Karachi’s Shiite leaders blame the murders on the Islamist terrorist group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, the armed wing of the now-banned Sipah-e-Sahaba (SSP, or Army of the Friends of the Prophet).

Lashkar-e-Jhangvi is suspected of being involved in the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, the former Pakistan prime minister, in Karachi in December 2007.

The SSP came into existence in Pakistan in the early 1980s as a reaction to the Iranian Revolution. It was allegedly created at the behest of Pakistan’s then-military dictator, Zia-ul-Haq, to counter an increasing Shiite militancy.

The SSP wants Pakistan to become a Sunni state and Shiites to be declared non-Muslims.

Over the years, its members have literally waged war on the Shiites. In December, they killed more than 40 of them in two bombings during a religious procession in Karachi.

SSP members also have close links with the Pakistani and Afghan Taliban, receiving arms training in Taliban camps, while offering Taliban members religious instruction in SSP-run madrassas in Pakistan.

The SSP was banned in Pakistan in 2002, around the time some members were accused of involvement in the beheading in Karachi of Daniel Pearl, a Wall Street Journal reporter. But the group has constantly re-emerged under different names.

Now that the United States has stepped up its fight against the Taliban in Afghanistan and pushed Pakistan’s military to root out Islamist fighters in the country’s northwestern tribal belt, the terrorists appear to be trying to destabilize Karachi.

“Anti-state elements are trying to disturb peace in the city and the country,” Rehman Malik, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, said yesterday. “The elements involved in the conspiracy first tried to ignite ethnic riots between the Pashtun and Urdu-speaking populations, but after their failure, they now want to start sectarian clashes.”

Iran cleric bans dog ownership

By Robin Pomeroy, REUTER

Last Updated: June 19, 2010 5:42am

TEHRAN – A senior Iranian cleric has decreed dogs are “unclean””and should not be kept as pets — a move aimed at discouraging Western-style dog ownership in the Islamic state, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

Dogs are considered “unclean””under Islamic tradition but, while relatively rare in Iran, some people do keep them as pets.

By issuing a fatwa — a religious ruling — Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi has sent a clear message that this trend must stop.

“Friendship with dogs is a blind imitation of the West,” he was quoted as saying in Javan daily. “There are lots of people in the West who love their dogs more than their wives and children.”

http://www.freefoto.com/images/01/07/01_07_1---Pair-of-Dogs_web.jpg

Guard dogs and sheep dogs are considered acceptable under Islamic law but Iranians who carry dogs in their cars or take them to public parks can be stopped by police and fined.

The Koran does not explicitly prohibit contact with dogs, Shirazi said, but Islamic tradition showed it to be so. “We have lots of narrations in Islam that say dogs are unclean.”

The interpretation of religious rules on personal conduct is a constant source of debate and potential conflict in Iran which has been an Islamic republic since a revolution ousted the Western-backed Shah in 1979.

In a television interview last week, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad weighed in on the issue of the Islamic dress code, saying women who fail to cover their hair completely should not be harassed by the police.

Morality police are conducting their annual crackdown and women who reveal strands of hair are liable to be stopped in the streets for failing to respect the dress code, or “hijab”.

Ahmadinejad’s surprisingly liberal view was condemned by fellow hardliner politicians and senior clerics “I wish he had not said those words about the hijab,” Grand Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati told the faithful during the week’s Friday prayers, in a rare criticism of the president.

“We are grappling with many problems including economic and political ones but the issues of morality and ethical security are among the important issues that cannot be ignored,” he said.

Tehran University has set up a thinktank “to investigate the problems related to hijab”, the representative of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to the university announced on Monday.

Worst human rights offenders condemn West

By Licia Corbella, Calgary Herald June 19, 2010 4:03 AM

“Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it.” — Adolf Hitler.

In what can only be described as Orwellian double-speak, the Organization of the Islamic Conference told the United Nations Human Rights Council — made up of many of the world’s worst human rights violators — that Muslims in western democracies face unbearable racism and discrimination, and demanded that the UN do something about it.

“People of Arab origin face new forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related forms of intolerance and experience discrimination and marginalization,” an Egyptian delegate said on Wednesday.

Pakistan, speaking for the 57-nation OIC, tabled a resolution instructing the council’s special investigator into religious freedom to look into such racism, “especially in western societies” to “work closely with mass media organizations to ensure that they create and promote an atmosphere of respect and tolerance for religious and cultural diversity.”

Mahfooz Kanwar, a professor emeritus at Mount Royal University and author, said these resolutions — which are expected to pass owing to the over-abundance of “Islamist and other dictatorial states” that sit on the oxymoronically named UN Human Rights Council — would be funny for their sheer audacity and hypocrisy if they were not so potentially harmful and disturbing. THE HUMANITARIAN RACIST NORWEGIAN LEFT SMEARS HUMANITARIAN BRUCE BAWER AS A RACIST

Norway is a Scandinavian Orwellian nightmare, where racism assumes the mantle of humanitarianism, anti-Israelism/Jew hatred is championed by “philosemites”, truth is falsehood and injustice the rule of law.  Norway, having been so thoroughly corrupted over the decades by far Leftist governments, can’t tell the light of Summer’s day from the darkest of Winter’s nights. Simply put, Norway is a gross caricature of a western liberal democracy.

Enter Bruce Bawer. Here’s a man who has championed the rights of women, vocally defended the need to safeguard their rights, and the rights of all citizens of Norway, at the forefront of ensuring that children are not victimized, and yet, he’s being branded a “waycist”. It’s because of his insistence on naming the name “that shall not be mentioned”, the ideology of Islam, as being the prime motivating factor in the victimization of immigrants in Norway.

It’s not ethnic Norwegians who are victimizing young girls with female genital mutilation (FGM) or forcing the women folk, in most cases young girls, to be married, or forcibly keeping their females under lock and key, brutalizing gays or promoting rioting in the streets for whatever grievances real or imagined or overly represented in the crime rate, like in the rape statistics etc..

No, Muslims are the ones guilty of that, and saying so isn’t an act of racism, but the speaking of the truth. So now the Orwellian (and humanitarian racist) Norwegian state has cast its eye upon the next victim, for daring to utter the truth about its society. Finland has Jussi Halla-aho, The Netherlands has Geert Wilders, Austria has Susanne Winter, and now Norway has Bruce Bawer. Let Bruce fill you in on the situation.

H/T Fjordman
When it comes to the right to speak one’s mind about Islam, the record of the last few years makes it clear which direction the West is moving in. In France and Italy, Oriana Fallaci is put on trial for disparaging Islam. In Canada, Mark Steyn and Ezra Levant are hauled before “human rights commission” tribunals for criticizing Islam in print. In Australia, an Islamic organization sues two pastors for “vilification of Muslims.” In Britain, a Daily Telegraph columnist is arrested on charges of hate speech for having written negatively about Islam, and the Archbishop of Canterbury proposes that Parliament pass stronger laws against such speech acts. And in the Netherlands, Geert Wilders, the head of the Freedom Party, which performed so well in the June 9 general elections that Wilders may end up in the governing coalition, still faces trial for having made a film about the Koranic foundations of terrorism.

Then there’s Norway, where I live, and where the last few days have seen yet another dark development. By way of background, permit me to begin by quoting myself. On pages 230-31 of my book Surrender: Appeasing Islam, Sacrificing Freedom I sum up the more alarming aspects of Norway’s Discrimination Law, passed in 2005:
It forbids “harassment on the grounds of ethnicity, national origin, ancestry, skin color, language, religion, or beliefs,” and, in turn, defines harassment as “actions, omissions, or utterances [my emphasis] that have the effect or are intended to have the effect of being insulting, intimidating, hostile, degrading, or humiliating.”

In other words, it’s illegal just to say certain things.

Defendants may be accused not only by the individuals whom they’ve supposedly offended but also by semiofficial organs such as the Anti-Racist Center and the Center against Ethnic Discrimination (both of which helped formulate the law, and both of which exist less to oppose real racism and discrimination than to oppose political incorrectness generally) or by the government’s Equality and Anti-Discrimination Ombud.

Which means that a handful of far-left organizations have been given enormous power to silence those they disagree with.

Violations of the law by individuals are punishable by fine; violations by individuals in concert with at least two other persons (such as a writer conspiring with an editor and publisher, perhaps?) can be punished by up to three years’ imprisonment — this in a country where murderers often get off with less. Moreover, the burden of proof is on the accused: you’re guilty until proven innocent.

And this in a supposedly free country.

Which brings us to the most recent developments. Over the years, I’ve had a close association with Human Rights Service (HRS), a small Oslo-based foundation that formulates and proposes government policies designed to combat the subjection and abuse of females in Muslim communities. I’ve translated materials for HRS and written pieces in Norwegian for the HRS website. Last fall, after suggesting that HRS expand its site to include articles in English by contributors from around Europe and elsewhere — so that writers from different countries could compare notes, as it were, about their experiences with Islam, immigration, and integration — I began working regularly for HRS, writing, soliciting, and translating pieces for their new international web pages.

Meanwhile HRS was going through a rough patch. Ever since its establishment in 2001, it has been despised by many people on the Norwegian left — the same folks who hate Israel and who feel warmly about Hamas. The two women who run HRS, Hege Storhaug and Rita Karlsen, have labored tirelessly against monstrous practices like honor killing, forced marriage, and female genital mutilation, and for doing so have won the lifelong gratitude of countless Muslim girls and women — but as far as their PC enemies are concerned, to condemn any aspect of Islam is to be an Islamophobe, pure and simple. Last summer, a couple of newspapers, the far-left Dagbladet and the Communist Klassekampen, waged a brutal and breathtakingly mendacious smear campaign against HRS, the obvious intent of which was to bring it down once and for all.

Islamic countries press UN to ‘root out’ Islamophobia in Western nations

UNITED NATIONS — Muslim governments on Wednesday pressed the United Nations to step up investigations of Western countries to root out what they call “Islamophobia” — defined by them as discrimination against people of the Muslim faith.

Delegates from Islamic countries, such as Egypt, Iran and Pakistan, drafted new guidelines for the UN’s freedom-of-religion investigator that say Western diplomats aim to shield Islam from commentary Muslims might deem derogatory.

During a debate in front of the UN Human Rights Council, they also charged that the UN’s anti-racism investigator — in a report he tabled about his activities — had not focused enough on what they called the rising incidence of discrimination against Muslims in Western countries.

According to the 57-member Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), the anti-racism investigator should focus on what it called “contemporary” racism, “particularly in Western societies.”

The group said Islamophobia was growing “particularly in the countries of the North.”

Egypt and Libya also charged that Muslims were targets of racism and discrimination in Western countries.

“People of foreign descent, such as Africans, Arabs, Muslims and Asians, do face derogatory stereotyping and stigmatization in an environment of victimization and xenophobia and, at times, violence,” said Ahmed Ihab Gamaleldin, the Egyptian delegate.

From Ottawa, Canada called for a “constructive approach” to ensuring the right of freedom of religion.

But the OIC is likely to see their new guidelines for the freedom-of-religion investigator approved, since Muslim countries and allies — such as Cuba, Russia and China — form a voting bloc in the Geneva-based body that overshadows that of the Western democracies.

Once passed, the new mandate is likely to see Western countries come under increased UN pressure to prevent criticism of Islam, even if that means overriding traditional freedom-of-speech protections.

One provision calls on the UN investigator to “work closely with mass media organizations to ensure that they create and promote an atmosphere of respect and tolerance for religious and cultural diversity,” according to the draft that Pakistan tabled on behalf of the OIC.

Many human-rights groups have argued that Islamic countries seek enhanced “protections” against religious discrimination in order to justify crackdowns in their own countries against apostates and others deemed to be working against the Islam religion.

“UN Watch is alarmed by the Islamic bloc’s attempt to turn an international shield for religious freedom into a sword for religious-motivated state censorship,” said Hillel Neuer, executive director of the Geneva-based watchdog group. “It’s part of a larger campaign to invert the real danger of Islamist extremism into an imagined narrative of Western victimization of Islam and its adherents.”

Veteran UN-accredited activist David Littman highlighted that the focus on the West appeared out of place when the council has “yet to address” a charge made in the chamber last week by Syria that Israeli children are taught to sing about drinking the blood off Arabs.

The claim recalls an ancient blood libel claiming that Jews use human blood in their religious and other rituals.

Unusual incident in France

The French flag hanging on the front of the town hall of Villeneuve-Saint-Georges (Val de Marne) was burnt in the night from Sunday to Monday and replaced by an Algerian flag, police said.

  • The facts were discovered Monday morning at the opening of the hall. The council said he had immediately lodged a complaint. On Sunday, Slovenia has defeated Algeria in the World Cup football match (1-0) in his first match in Group C.
In early June, Justice Minister, Michele Alliot-Marie, seized the State Council of a draft decree punishing a fine of 1500 euros the contempt of the French flag. The draft decree provides for a contravention of the fifth degree, punishable by a fine of 1500 euros, which will punish on the one hand the fact of degrading or indecent use of the tricolor flag in a public place or open to the public, and, secondly, to disseminate by any means the representation of these facts’ stated Arthur Dreyfuss, deputy spokesman of the Ministry of Justice. ‘The element of intent will be included in the decree in question’ to be taken into account in the sanction, he added

Christians sentanced to death in Afghanistan for not being Muslim

I really have a hard time supporting the mission there under those circumstances.

Appeal for Afghan Christians, sentenced to death for their faith
by Santosh Digal
A group of Afghan Christian refugees, who escaped to India to save their lives, describe the hardships they face in their homeland, where Muslim converts to Christianity are put to death. They call on the international community to put pressure on the Afghan government to spare those sentenced to death.

New Delhi (AsiaNews) – VijayKumar Singh, from the India Bible Publishers and the Delhi Bible Fellowship, has launched an appeal to the Christians of India and the world to pray and express their support for Afghan Muslim converts to Christianity who were convicted on conversion charges and sentenced to death on 31 May. Speaking to AsiaNews, Sing said, “We need Christians’ help all over the world to stop the Afghan government from arresting Dari-speaking Afghan Christians and condemning them to death by public execution.”

Afghans consider their country to be 100 per cent Muslim. A local TV station, Noorin TV, recently broadcast a documentary showing photos and videos of secret “Afghan Christian Converts”, which revealed names and showed the faces of alleged Afghan Christian converts.

This was enough to spark riots and demonstrations throughout Afghanistan with protesters demanding strong action to enforce the Afghan constitution, based on Sharia, arrest the culprits, and execute anyone who renege his or her religion in favour of another. Continue Reading →

2nd attempt on US military base

***  UPDATE  ***

June 16, 2010  STRATFOR
Anthony Todd Saxon, a civilian arrested while impersonating a master sergeant at Fort Gordon, was in possession of several grenades, night vision devices, a laser targeting device and a land mine, AP reported June 16. A military spokesman said authorities did not consider the case to be a terrorist threat and federal prosecutors filed a criminal complaint stating the Saxon was trying to steal Army-issued laser sights for military rifle

This is the second attempt on a US military base where the person was arrested and identified and they have not released the names. This is infuriating. What kind of a country has the US become where the truth may not be told unless it fits the leftist narrative? I am certain that if the attackers are Jewish, Christian or ‘Right Wing’ we would all know their names by now. But since both cases have not named the attempted attacker, we have to assume they are Muslim.

  • Base spokesman: Search uncovered other “militarylike” items

(CNN) — Military police at Fort Gordon, near Augusta, Georgia, have arrested a civilian for impersonating a soldier after “possible grenades” were found in his vehicle on base, a base spokesman said early Wednesday.

The Fort Gordon and Richmond County bomb squads were called to a remote location on the base after a search of the vehicle the man had been driving uncovered “several possible grenades” and other “militarylike” items, according to Buz Yarnell, a base spokesman. The FBI is leading the investigation, he said.

Authorities believe the man may have been involved in earlier thefts of military equipment at Fort Gordon, Yarnell said.

A report of a suspicious person on the base Tuesday afternoon led military police to the suspect.

Globe & Mail publishes 14 page doc on the Asqa Parvez murder

This is extraordinary. The Parvez family loathed the Kuffar. For Kuffar, read Canadians. The had 8 kids of which Asqa was the youngest at 16 when she was murdered. They were all born in Pakistan, and the other Parvez children are married to 1st cousins from Pakistan. Yes all 7 of them. Asqa was also set up for a forced marriage. She declined. She was killed.

All of her sisters wear the Hijab or whatever, and Asqa refused.

All of her siblings with the exception of two, were home in their respective bedrooms during the murder. Their respective children were also at the dwelling.  This would be something like 15 people in the home during the murder by strangulation. Each was in a bedroom and ‘heard nothing’.

She had friends which were not Muslims, which enraged her father. He also threatened to send her to an Islamic school as I suspect, the public school in which she attended was not ‘suitable’. He was upset Asqa rejected the hijab and was further annoyed his daughter sought a part-time job. None of his other daughters worked and were entirely dependent upon their husbands.  After her death he phoned 911 and confessed to the murder. When police arrived at the scene, his arms were covered in blood.

For the first time in her life she went to the movies 3 days before she was murdered. Some of those who went with her, were infidels. For infidels, read Canadians.

Below, some of the article from the Globe & Mail. However click on over to read the 14 page report. Its quite something. Will be hard for the apologists to get around this clear Islamic motive for this murder of a daughter.

Mother stabbed daughter in ‘honour crime’: Police

The Star: by way of  T.R.O.P.

MONTREAL – Favouring her left forearm, on which spots of blood had soaked through the white bandage, the woman stood in the prisoner’s box looking crushed, accused of stabbing her own daughter in what police say was an “honour crime.”

After her lawyer, Tom Pentefountas, asked to delay the formal laying of charges so his client’s psychological fitness for trial could be determined, the woman’s husband stood up in the back of the court and shouted to the judge: “Please sir, my wife is innocent!”

He soon began to weep, completing the picture of a family utterly torn asunder by what transpired early Sunday morning.

The 19-year-old daughter remains in hospital with knife wounds to the head, shoulders and arms.

It’s believed that the daughter came home late, Pentefountas, a prominent name in the Montreal legal community, indicated to the court.

One source said she is believed to have returned home after 3 a.m. The assault happened just after 8, according to police.

Police based their theory that it was an honour crime on “what we saw at the scene of the crime,” said Olivier Lapointe, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service, and especially on interviews with people inside the house and the victim herself.

It appeared related to the “behavior of the victim,” Lapointe said.

The woman, 38-year-old Johra Kaleki, faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. Continue Reading →
