An interesting bit of analysis from Egyptian TV from the Louvre attack

Thank you Sandra Solomon for finding and translating this clip for us.

The host of this Egyptian media TV, Mohamed Al-Ghiety, interviewed the father of the muslim who attacked the Louvre, and brought forth some worthwhile ideas on him.

That the jihadi was a regular guy, bribed by Al-Qaeda and or the Islamic State, but either way for certain the Muslim Brotherhood, with a fat job for a fake company, and a mysterious wife, a hijabi, who appeared out of the blue around the same time.

This would explain not just the attack, but why it was so feeble. One might imagine that this person actually didn’t;t want to succeed. That getting put in a French hospital for a while was the best possible outcome. Then again, there was his social media posts.

For more on the host of this show, clearly a decent guy and a good analyst, but look at what he has to endure at the video on this link. A shoe down between an imam in a black ball gown and a Santa hat, and another guy.

Islam, inche allah, and the view of cause and effect and resultant system of responsibility under sharia

Recently we have seen a case where a Norwegian woman is raped in a Muslim country, is sentenced to a lengthy jail term for being raped as is the custom in Muslim lands, and her Muslim employer, the husband of rich and famous American pop star, Janet Jackson, fired her for merely reporting the rape as it showed cultural insensitivity or some variant thereof.

It is important to understand that sharia law is a system of crimes and punishments derived from a simple premise.

‘What can allow Mohamed, the founding, ‘first pirate of Islam’, the most latitude possible with his desires, wants, lusts and whims with the least personal responsibility for the consequences of acting on all those desires? And ideally of course, placing the responsibility for his actions on those upon whom he acts.

and by extension of course, all his male followers. So it should be easy to extrapolate from this principle and derive new specific laws as well as determine the likely outcome of nearly any court case based on a sort of, ‘medieval Muslim flavoured identity politics’. Kind of like the George Zimmerman case where leftists want him guilty even though he was not and want O.J. Simpson innocent despite knowing he was guilty. Muslim identity politics works similarly where the status, gender and religion the accused and victim determine the verdict and sentence.

The Observer sent me an interesting little story this morning which illustrates this point well specifically because it isn’t about rape or killing of Christians for some minor slight against Islam or a muslim real or imagined, but where someone who appears to be a wealthy powerful person beats on a working man for some reason in the street, and the person who gathered the evidence of this act will be the one who gets jail time.

(Post Script: I also resisted calling this post, ‘Dubai or not Dubai’ as the answer is so obviously not Dubai.)

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Ninety four people went on trial Monday in the United Arab Emirates on charges of trying to overthrow the government, the latest in a growing crackdown in the Gulf nation against perceived political or security threats inspired by the Arab Spring uprisings.

Amid tight security, about 200 relatives were bussed to the court in the heart of the capital Abu Dhabi for the morning hearing. The road leading the court was closed and authorities barred international media, including The Associated Press, and several rights groups from attending.

The defendants — unnamed doctors, academics, lawyers and other professionals — have been accused of building a secret network to plot the coup and raising money through real estate and other deals.

According to a government statement, the 94 are suspected of links to the Muslim Brotherhood and other unnamed parties they allegedly contacted for expertise and financial support in their plot. The detained include men and women who were arrested over the past year.

Board meeting of Al Maktoun, a UAE charity. Are they writing checks for laptops for “needy” Americans?

Yesterday, I tweeted, and somehow contemptuously, that London’s mayor was seeking money for a new airport from Qatar, Dubai and Kuwait.

Today, the Wash Post reports on the extensive charity the UAE is lavishing on “needy” American communities.

I feel ill. Emiratis are the people who were falconing with bin Laden in Afghanistan when the US didn’t strike OBL pre-9/11; these are the people whom we successfully rejected over the UAE’s proposed Dubai Port’s purchase of US ports. Now, they just buy their way in all over America with laptops, soccer fields and hospital beds.

That’s because no one has the Yankee pride to turn down the blood money and get along without it.  After all, UAE is not only a dictatorship where liberty doesn’t exist, its many millionaires bankroll jihad violence and aggression against the US and our allies. Or as a State Department cable released by Wikileaks puts it: “UAE-based donors have provided financial support to a variety of terrorist groups, including al-Qa’ida, the Taliban, LeT and other terrorist groups, including Hamas.”

Now they “provide financial support” for poor pitiful Americans.

From the piece we learn:

Today, the nearly 2,200 high school students in Joplin [MO] each have their own UAE-funded MacBook laptop, which they use to absorb lessons, perform homework and take tests. Across the city, the UAE is spending $5 million to build a neonatal intensive-care unit at Mercy Hospital, which also was ripped apart by the tornado. …

Rebecca Blake, a £100,000-a-year recruitment consultant, is accused of stripping naked in the back of a Dubai cab and writhing on top of Conor McRedmond.

The conviction came despite DNA tests to show evidence of intercourse coming back negative.

The pair pleaded not guilty to charges of having consensual sex and indecency, which related to stripping off in public, but were convicted on both counts and ordered to serve a total of three months in prison before being deported.

A man can beat his wife and kids as long as he leaves no physical marks, the United Arab Emirates’ highest court has found.

The judgment came after a man slapped his wife and kicked and slapped his daughter, according to Abu Dhabi’s The National newspaper.

In the case debated by the Federal Supreme court, the daughter was bruised on the hand and knee, while the wife’s lip and teeth were injured.

According to the court, the injuries showed that the man had over-stepped his rights under Shariah, or Islamic law, the newspaper reported. He had originally been fined 500 United Arab Emirates dirhams ($136), but appealed the case twice.

At 23, the daughter was deemed too old to have been disciplined, the newspaper said.

According to Shariah law, a man can beat his wife and children as long as he has first tries unsuccessfully to discipline them by admonishing and then abstaining from sexual relations with his wife.

Islamic scholars don’t agree on the definition of “beating” but they do agree that it should not be too severe.

“Although the (law) permits the husband to use his right (to discipline), he has to abide by the limits of this right,” Chief Justice Falah al Hajeri wrote in the ruling released Sunday, according to The National. “If the husband abuses this right to discipline, he cannot be exempted from punishment.”

Another example of the superior moral values dictated by the Islamic world.

UAE: Court Sentences Teenage Gang Rape Victim to 1 Year in Prison

By R.E.A.L. Organization • on June 17, 2010

A court in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has convicted an 18 year old girl (”LH”) to one year in prison for “consensual sex.”  The UAE court convicted her because she agreed to be alone in the car with a man “YM.”

As previously reported, the teenage girl had previously alleged that she was gang raped by six men.  the UAE “The Nation” newspaper reported that LH had “12 bruises ranging from 1cm to 7 cm long on her upper lip, hands, thighs, knee, and behind her left ear.”  LH indicated that her brother had beaten her, although the beatings happened at different times.

However, after the teenage girl “LH” filed charges of rape, according to the “The Nation” on May 25, “LH” was then charged with the crime of “extramarital sex,” which could have led to a penalty of “lashes and a maximum sentence of life in prison,” with a minimum of three years in prison.  LH then pleaded with the court to allow her to withdraw the rape charges, while one of the accused rapists laughed at her in court.  According to the LA Times, LH appeared before the court “shackled and clothed in an inmate’s uniform of hunter green and a black headscarf” and “she rescinded the allegations ‘to get out of’ jail, Bloomberg Businessweek reported.”

The UAE court had reportedly considered the lesser criminal charge of “deception” against “LH,” but chose to convict of “consensual sex,” with a sentence of  1 year in prison. Continue Reading →
