Turkey : the EU’s Trojan Horse

Please read a little more on the country Americas new president has vowed to support.

from the Austalian Islamist Monitor

trojanhorse2Everyone knows the famous story of how the Greeks captured the city of Troy using the decoy of a wooden horse in which soldiers had been hidden. Helen, the wife of the king of Sparta had been captured by Paris of Troy and taken to Troy.  Following ten years of siege, the Greeks used the deception of a wooden horse to take the city. Today the tables might be reversing as Turkey strives to be admitted to the EU and could well prove to be a “Trojan Horse” to secular Europe. Recent events show that Turkey is moving away from the secular state formed by Ataturk in 1923 when he abolished the Caliphate, ending the Ottoman Islamic empire.

It is useful to reflect on what the EU might inherit inside the Trojan Horse that is Turkey today. Continue Reading →

Egypt church issues first conversion certificate

apostasyThere is no compulsion in Islam. Of course, if a Muslim wishes to change his or her religion, they will be compelled to go through the courts to do it.

from yahoo news

CAIRO (AFP) – Egypt’s Coptic Orthodox Church has for the first time issued a certificate of conversion to a Muslim-born Christian, his lawyer said, in a country where religious conversion is highly sensitive.Maher al-Gohari, who is seeking to change his religion on his official documents from Muslim to Christian was asked by a court to provide a conversion certificate from the Egyptian church.”He handed it in today,” Nabil Gabriel told AFP. “It is the first time the church provides this sort of certificate.”In Egypt, citizens are required to carry their personal ID cards at all times. Without an ID card, one has no access to basic services. It is only the second time that such a request has been formally made in a country where converting to Christianity, while not illegal, is practically impossible.Last year, a court rejected a request by a Christian convert from Islam, Mohammed Higazi, to have his new religion written on his identity card.Highlighting the sensitivity of the topic, the church would not comment on Gohari’s case specifically.”In general, the church cannot turn away anyone who reaches out to it, otherwise it would be abandoning one its role as a church.”Tensions often run high between Egypt’s Muslim and Christian communities in an increasingly religious society dominated by Sunni Muslims.Egypt’s Copts — the largest Christian community in the Middle East — account for an estimated six to 10 percent of the country’s 80 million inhabitants.

An Islamic Creationist Stirs a New Kind of Darwinian Struggle

Also weighing in on his side are very aggressive lawyers. They’ve repeatedly gone to court in Turkey to silence critics whom Mr. Oktar accuses of spreading “lies and insults.” Scores of Web sites have been banned at his behest.

ISTANBUL — As scientists around the world celebrate the 150th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s seminal work on evolution, Adnan Oktar, a college dropout turned theorist of Islamic creationism, is working on the fifth volume of a 14-part masterwork that he says will bury Darwinism once and for all.

“Darwin and his theory are dead,” says Mr. Oktar, founder and honorary president of the Science Research Foundation, an Istanbul outfit dedicated to debunking the Victorian-era English naturalist. Darwin, says his 52-year-old Turkish scourge, is “Satan’s biggest trick on humanity.”

Mr. Oktar, who briefly studied interior design, hasn’t had much success swaying scientists with the weight of his research. “He is a complete and utter ignoramus,” says Richard Dawkins, an evolutionary biologist and Oxford University professor.

The physical weight of Mr. Oktar’s work, however, is considerable. Each volume of his anti-Darwin magnum opus, “Atlas of Creation,” weighs more than 13 pounds. Also weighing in on his side are very aggressive lawyers. They’ve repeatedly gone to court in Turkey to silence critics whom Mr. Oktar accuses of spreading “lies and insults.” Scores of Web sites have been banned at his behest.

These include the site of Oxford’s Prof. Dawkins, which Mr. Oktar — who writes under the pen name Harun Yahya — got blocked last fall after it posted an article entitled “Venomous Snakes, Slippery Eels and Harun Yahya.” Prof. Dawkins responded to the ban by posting a Turkish translation of the article. Mr. Oktar derides Prof. Dawkins, an outspoken atheist, as “a pagan monk.”

Mr. Oktar’s combative zeal has put him in the vanguard of what some secular-minded Turks lament as a dangerous phenomenon: a retreat from science into religious dogma. “We are trying to turn the trend back, but I’m not sure we’ll be successful,” says Aykut Kence, a biology professor at Ankara’s Middle East Technical University.

Prof. Kence has worked with like-minded scholars on a series of conferences and other events marking Darwin’s birth 200 years ago and the publication, in 1859, of “On the Origin of Species.” He last week joined a chorus of secular outrage over a decision by the official journal of Turkey’s state scientific-research council to pull a planned cover story on Darwin.

“If people can’t accept Darwin, they can’t accept science. They can’t think,” says Prof. Kence.

A recent survey found that only a quarter of students entering Turkish universities accept Darwin’s theory of evolution and that the proportion is much the same when they graduate. The findings, says Prof. Kence, are “very depressing.” Continue Reading →

Muslim leader sues Blears on Gaza

A follow up on a story posted last week   http://vladtepesblog.com/?p=6699#more-6699 As is the fashion with all Muslim groups anyone who dares to speak against them will find themselves in court.

_45633680_abdullah_pa226bodcompfrom the BBC

A leading member of the Muslim Council of Britain is suing cabinet minister Hazel Blears for defamation, following a row over the Israeli bombing of Gaza.

Dr Daud Abdullah, who is the MCB deputy secretary-general, is seeking damages.

Ms Blears said a document which Dr Abdullah signed on hostilities in Gaza had advocated attacks on UK military personnel and on Jews around the world.

Ms Blears made the claim in a letter to the Guardian last week, but Dr Abdullah has vehemently denied it.

The document is known as the Istanbul Declaration and was signed by 90 Muslim leaders in response to the three-week Israeli offensive in Gaza, in December and January.

The minister said the declaration supported violence against foreign troops, including British naval forces and advocated “attacks on Jewish communities all around the world”.

Ms Blears, who is Communities Secretary, said Dr Abdullah needed to make his own position clear.

Dr Abdullah has in turn accused Ms Blears of “crude bullying”. He said the declaration did not represent an attack on Jewish people and that he did not call for or support attacks on British troops anywhere in the world. Continue Reading →

Battle of Higueruela

battle-of-higueruela1

How often in conversation with a Muslim, do they quote Spain as the crowning achievement of Islam, where Muslims, Jews and Christians lived in harmony for about 800 years?

And when you mention the killings and massacres, you are told that the Spanish Inquisition was much worse.
This is a misconception, since the Inquisition in Spain was responsible for only between 4,000 and 5,000 lives.

Yet in 1066AD, in a single day, muslims murdered over 4,000 Jews because Vizier Joseph ibn Naghrela had risen to a position greater than them, and of course, this upset the Muslim sensitivities.

History tells us that the Muslim invasion started in 711AD and that Spain, or al-Andalus, was Islamic until 1492 when Granada fell to King Ferdinand, the Christian king of Spain.

Spain then provides an excellent case for studying how Islam might work in a Western civilization today. It is both timely and relevant to examine this period in history, and we know that after the Madrid bombings in 2004, Osama bin Laden has called for the retaking of Spain for Islam.

Certainly it is true that the Muslim invaders of Spain believed in the Holy Trinity, the Islamic version, of course, 1) Booty, 2) Women and 3) Slaves!

Does a critical look at history support this romantic view that al-Andalus was a model of Islamic harmony, and what does it say about Jihad Continue Reading →

Hamas couldn’t fire smuggled Stingers against Israelis due to embedded ID system

If this story doesn’t put a smile on your face. Read it again.pissed-off

from the World Tribune

GAZA CITY — The Hamas regime acquired U.S.-origin air defense systems but was unable to use them in combat.

Hamas sources said the Islamic military has acquired the Stinger man-portable air defense system. The sources said the Stingers were acquired from smugglers in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula in 2008 and deployed in the 22-day war against Israel in January 2009.

“We were disappointed by them, and they were found to have been useless,” a Hamas source said.

The source said Hamas smuggled four Stinger systems in 2008. The source said the Hamas military deployed the Stingers against Israel Air Force AH-64 Apache attack helicopters during strike missions in the northern Gaza Strip.

“Our gunners couldn’t fire the weapon,” the source recalled. “A notice came up on the display saying ‘friendly aircraft.'”

Industry sources said Raytheon, producer of Stinger, installed identification friend/foe capabilities more than a decade ago. The sources said this would prevent Stinger from being fired against any aircraft used by the U.S. military.

Another Hamas source said gunners deployed Stinger along with heavy machine guns in attacks on Israeli helicopters during the war in the Gaza Strip. The source said one Stinger surface-to-air missile was launched, but the projectile veered off course and struck a Hamas gunner squad.

“The Stinger was drawn by the heat of our guns rather than the engines of the Israeli helicopters,” the source said. “At that point, we stopped using this weapon.”

The sources said Hamas has abandoned plans to acquire additional Stingers. Instead, the Islamic army has been ordering the Russian-origin SA-16, or Igla-1, surface-to-air missile system, with a range of five kilometers.

Al-Jazeera Reporter wanted to Assassinate Obama

Saudis Report Plot To Assassinate Obama

The Saudi Arabian newspaper al-Watan reported today that Turkish security services have arrested a man of Syrian origins Friday in connection with a plot to assassinate President Barack Obama during his current visit to Turkey.

The man, who was carrying an Al-Jazeera TV ID card in the name of M.G., confessed after his arrest that he was planning on stabbing the U.S. president with a knife during the Alliance of Civilizations summit held in Istanbul, adding that he had three other accomplices to help him execute his plan.

According to the paper, Turkish investigators were trying to verify whether the Qatari-based Arab TV channel has truly issued the ID card produced by the man, or if it’s a forged copy.

The suspect, a permanent resident of Istanbul, has been regularly attending all conferences and events relating to the Middle East held in the city.

Al-Watan contacted Al-Jazeera’s bureau chief in Ankara, Yucef al-Sharif, who said that news of the suspect came as a complete surprise to Al-Jazeera staff in Turkey, who all claimed that they knew nothing about the man.

“We learned that he (the suspect) claimed to be working for our bureau … if that has been the case then he most certainly forged our ID card,” al-Sharif told al-Watan in a phone call from Ankara.

Al-Sharif said that Turkish security services know everyone who worked in Al-Jazeera’s offices in Ankara.

White House seeks to control the Internet

Once again, in the interest of national security, a western democratic  government seeks to restrict the freedoms of it’s citizens. Unwilling to address the radical message and teachings of the Qu’ran they seek instead to punish the masses with Orwellian laws. Are our governments so weak that they fear offending those who wish us harm? Are our citizens so weak that they stand by and obey Big Brother? Both seem to be the case.

Proposed new powers called ‘drastic federal intervention’

WorldNetDaily by Drew Zahn

A pair of bills introduced in the U.S. Senate would grant the White House sweeping new powers to access private online data, regulate the cybersecurity industry and even shut down Internet traffic during a declared “cyber emergency.”

Senate bills No. 773 and 778, introduced by Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.V., are both part of what’s being called the Cybersecurity Act of 2009, which would create a new Office of the National Cybersecurity Advisor, reportable directly to the president and charged with defending the country from cyber attack.

A working draft of the legislation obtained by an Internet privacy group also spells out plans to grant the Secretary of Commerce access to all privately owned information networks deemed to be critical to the nation’s infrastructure “without regard to any provision of law, regulation, rule or policy restricting such access.” Continue Reading →

Shari’a Infiltrates German Courts, Schools, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs

pigman-above-the-law-sharia-law-4-blog-598x640from the Canadian Free Press By Dr. Sami Alrabaa

Once again a German court ruled by referring to Shrai’a (Islamic law), which predominantly incites to denigration of women, hatred, violence.

Most recently, Lisa, a German woman (46) married to an Egyptian, called the police seeking protection for herself and her 17-year-old daughter from assaults by her husband. Magdi, Lisa’s husband, threatened to kill their daughter who had been raped by a man. Magdi, a practicing Muslim, believes that his daughter committed “Zena” (adultery). He told his wife that he was always suspicious of his daughter who clandestinely had a German boyfriend. Lisa filed a divorce case against her husband, and requested deporting him.

The judge, Matthias Rau, at a court in Hanover, Germany, ruled (Jan. 21, 2009), Lisa had to wait for at least one year before she is legally divorced. Her husband cannot be deported. “He must be re-educated, in hopes he would renounce his Islamic understanding of “Zena”, the judge said.

The German judge argued, “Muslims have a different understanding of rape than Europeans, and this must be taken into account.” Continue Reading →

Taliban threaten 2 attacks per week in Pakistan

President Obama looks to pardon non-violent Taliban.
Pakistan surrenders the Swat Valley and it’s inhabitants to the Taliban.
One has to ask if America or Pakistan will ever realise they are in a war.
All these concessions  are seen as victories by the Taliban, and rightly so.
They are now stronger, more bold and are riding a wave of momentem.

ISLAMABAD (AP) — A suicide bombing at a crowded Shiite mosque south of Pakistan’s capital killed 22 people Sunday, the latest evidence of how security in the U.S.-allied nation is crumbling well beyond the Afghan border region where al-Qaida and Taliban fighters thrive.

The violence came as a senior Pakistani Taliban commander said his group was behind a deadly suicide bombing Saturday night in Islamabad and promised two more attacks per week in the country if the U.S. does not stop missile strikes on Pakistani territory.

Sunday’s suicide bomber set off his explosives at the entrance to a mosque in Chakwal city in Punjab province, some 50 miles (80 kilometers) south of Islamabad, said Nadeem Hasan Asif, a top security official in the province. The blast killed 22 and wounded dozens, he said. Continue Reading →

Spain Has No Right to Try U.S. Officials

What next? Prosecutions for bad advice on global warming?

A lawyer in Spain — who did his legal studies while serving over seven years in prison for kidnapping and terrorism — has engineered a complaint accusing the U.S. government of systematically torturing war-on-terrorism detainees. He filed this complaint with Baltasar Garzon, an activist magistrate famous for championing the “universal jurisdiction” of Spanish courts. That magistrate is now asking a Spanish prosecutor to bring criminal charges on this matter against former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, four other former Bush administration lawyers, and me.

The allegation is not that any of us tortured anyone. And it is not that any of us even directed anyone to commit torture. The allegation is that, when we advised President George W. Bush on the Geneva Conventions and detainee interrogations, our interpretations were wrong — in the view of the disapproving Spaniards. According to the complaint, these wrong interpretations encouraged the president to make decisions that led to torture. Continue Reading →

North Korea said to launch rocket

north_korea1from The Los Angeles Times April 4th, 2009

Ending several days of high alert in East Asia, the rocket reportedly crosses Japanese air space before landing in the Pacific. Japan had threatened to shoot it down.

Reporting from Seoul — North Korea launched what was believed to be a multi-stage rocket on Sunday, ending weeks of speculation about the regime’s efforts to expand its ability to deliver nuclear weapons.
The North Korean news agency announced that a rocket was launched about 11:30 a.m. The U.S. State Department, the South Korean president’s office and Japanese media reports confirmed the launch. The rocket reportedly crossed Japanese air space before plunging into the Pacific Ocean, according to press reports from Japan. Japanese officials apparently did not attempt to shoot down the rocket, as they had threatened to do.
North Korea had said it planned to put a communications satellite into space. But many analysts predicted that the launch would actually be a test of the regime’s ability to use the three-stage Taepodong 2 to deliver a warhead.
South Korea’s Yonhap news agency quoted government officials in Seoul as saying that the rocket carried a satellite. That report was not immediately confirmed.
The rocket is estimated to have a range of more than 4,000 miles. Some analysts say that with a light payload, it could reach the western U.S.
On Sunday morning, the rogue state had appeared to activate its rocket tracking radar system just minutes before the start of the 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. window given for the launch, according to a South Korean news agency.
East Asia had been on high alert for days as the U.S., Japan and South Korea continued to monitor North Korea. All three nations dispatched ships armed with missile interceptors to the ocean waters around the Korean peninsula. Continue Reading →

Personal web data to be stored for a year

from The Independent

New law forces service providers to record all your calls and emails from Monday

The mobile calls, emails and website visits of every person in Britain will be stored for a year under sweeping new powers which come into force on Monday. Privacy campaigners warned last night that the information would be used by the Government to create a giant “Big Brother” super-database containing a map of everyone’s private life.

The new powers will, for the first time, place a legal duty on internet companies to store private information, including email traffic and website browsing histories.

Although the new retention powers will not permit the storage of the content of emails or phone calls it will show details such as IP addresses, date, time and user telephone numbers. Under the terms of the EU directive, the Home Office has written to leading internet service providers and phone companies offering to compensate them for the costs incurred in retaining the data for a year. Pakistan outcry over flogging of girl by Taliban

[kaltura-widget wid=”npug3s3vp4″ width=”410″ height=”364″ addpermission=”0″ editpermission=”3″ /]In the hopes that people will get to witness Sharia law with their own eyes I have uploaded this video on my you tube account. Eight hours after posting I recieved an email from you tube informing me the video was pulled and the account ‘taffyincanada’ has been suspended. The mass flagging campaign by ‘Muslims against the facts’ is very active on youtube.

From the Telegraph.co.uk

Diplomats and human rights campaigners have condemned a peace deal between the Pakistan government and Taliban militants after harrowing video footage revealed a teenage woman begging for mercy during a public flogging.

The footage appears to show a 17-year-old girl being flogged by Islamic militants in Pakistan’s northwestern region of Swat.

The whipping took place after the peace deal was struck with militants in February following a protracted and unsuccessful military operation.

But a Taliban spokesman said that the punishment beating took place before the peace deal was signed when militants carried out executions and public beatings.

A local Taliban commander in the militant stronghold of Matta, outside of the regional capital, Mingora, ordered a girl called Chand to be flogged after she was accused of adultery.

“Please! Enough! Enough!” the girl is heard crying in Pashto, the language of the tribes who dominate northwestern Pakistan.

The two-minute video, shot using a mobile phone, shows a burka-clad woman face down on the ground. Two men, one of whom is her brother, hold her arms and feet while a third whips her 34 times.

“Please stop it,” she implores. “Either kill me or stop it now.” Continue Reading →
