WINDSOR, Ont. — Two Canadian men wanted by the FBI in connection to a radical mosque in Detroit were arrested by authorities in this country on Saturday.

Yassir Ali Khan, 30, and Mohammad Philistine, 33 – also known as Mohammad Al-Sahli and Mohammad Palestine – were arrested around 8 a.m. Saturday, according to an FBI news release.

Authorities have been searching for the men following the death this past week of the leader of a fundamentalist Islamic group, who was killed in a shootout with FBI agents after a raid on a warehouse in Dearborn, Mich.

The pair were picked up without incident by Windsor police and RCMP’s Immigration Task Force, the release said, adding both men were being held until an immigration and extradition hearing could take place. The FBI said that hearing was scheduled for Monday.

The Windsor police tactical squad surrounded a house in the southern Ontario city earlier this week to arrest 30-year-old Mujahid Carswell, also known as Mujahid Abdullah, a third man wanted in connection to Detroit mosque.

It was Carswell’s father, Luqman Ameen Abdullah, who was killed in the shootout with FBI agents.

The FBI has charged 11 people with various federal felonies, none of which is tied to terrorism.

U.S. authorities allege Abdullah and his followers were part of a Sunni Muslim group with the mission of establishing a separate Islamic nation within the United States.

“The 11 defendants are members of a group that is alleged to have engaged in violent activity over a period of many years, and known to be armed,” the U.S. Department of Justice said in an earlier news release.

On Friday, the lawyer for the two newly arrested men, Pat Ducharme, said his clients were not fleeing authorities and were in the city.

“They’re not on the run; they’re not hiding,” Ducharme said.

“They live here in this community. They are citizens of Canada, and I expect them to be treated within the parameters of the law, no matter what anybody thinks they’ve done.”

British Mum refused service by ‘Asian’ clerk for ‘wristband’

Asda till snub for Hopes for Heroes mum

MUM-of-three Beth Hoyle claims an Asda till worker refused to serve her because she was wearing a wristband backing injured troops.

Beth says the checkout lad told her the band for Help for Heroes – aided by The Sun – meant she supported the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

And when she complained to a supervisor, he BACKED the Asian youth, saying he was entitled to his view.

Beth, 40, who has two brothers in the services, said the checkout worker told her he didn’t want to serve her because of “what she was wearing.”

Shocked Beth, of Whitworth, Greater Manchester, said that at first she thought the youth at Asda’s Rochdale store meant a cross round her neck.

“He pointed to my Help for Heroes wristband and accused me of supporting the war. I told him it was nothing to do with the war, but about supporting our injured troops.

“I immediately complained to a supervisor, but he said it was his right not to serve me. I was disgusted.”

An Asda spokeswoman said they were “shocked” by the claims but had found no evidence that the incident happened in their store.

She added: “We are big supporters of the Help for Heroes campaign and we sell the pin badges and wristband in hundreds of our stores.”

Islamic radicalization of Canada’s Somali community is becoming a national security concern, RCMP Commissioner William Elliott said Friday.

The potential of Somali-Canadians adopting the extremist ideology of the Islamist insurgency ravaging the failed state is on an evolving list of national security issues and threats Elliott outlined in a sobering speech to an Ottawa conference of security intelligence specialists.

Despite recent successes such as thwarting the Toronto 18 and Momin Khawaja terrorism plots, he said the current threat environment remains severe, from a resurgent al-Qaeda and fugitive Tamil Tigers to nuclear technology smuggling and border concerns.

Success in countering the dangers will require police to take on more of national security role and, “put more terrorism cases before the courts and more terrorists in jail.” Continue Reading →

Accused wife killer gets more time to pay for psychiatric expert

Muzzammil S. "Mo" Hassan

Muzzammil S. "Mo" Hassan

The Buffalo News… Over the objections of the prosecutor, Muzzammil S. “Mo” Hassan today was given additional time to secure the money needed to pay for the mental health experts he hopes will help him prove he was emotionally out of control when he decapitated his estranged wife last February.

Erie County Judge Thomas P. Franczyk decried the “glacial pace” of the defense effort, but gave defense attorney James P. Harrington until Dec. 7 to report on the progress of the defense tactics.

The judge warned Harrington that he can still preclude this line of defense if further delays are unacceptable.

Prosecutor Colleen Curtin Gable complained of deliberate foot-dragging by the defense.

But Harrington insisted that, until an Oct. 13 settlement was reached in the Hassan family estate case, there was a problem with ensuring enough money to pay for the criminal defense.

Though the estate case is several weeks away from a formal settlement, Harrington told the judge that Hassan is now assured he will have enough money to finance his defense, including pay for his psychiatric experts.

The the bulk of the estate will go to his four children. Hassan, 44, did not speak during the brief court session that ended about 10:15 a.m. Hassan, who has been jailed since he surrendered to police about an hour after the Feb. 12 killing, did not speak at court. Harrington declined comment as he left court.

Glendale man accused of running over daughter found

The Arizona Republic

The Glendale man accused of running down his daughter for being too “westernized” was taken into custody Thursday night, police confirmed.

Faleh Almaleki, 48, was in custody in Georgia, Peoria police spokesman

Mike Tellef said late Thursday.

Jim Joyner, a spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Service in Atlanta, said Almaleki was arrested Thursday when he arrived at Atlanta’s airport

.

Police believe Almaleki ran over his daughter, Noor Almaleki, 20, and Amal Edan Khalaf, 43, in a Peoria parking lot on Oct. 20 because he felt his daughter had disrespected the family.

Khalaf is reportedly the mother of Noor’s boyfriend.

The two women were still in the hospital, with Noor Almaleki in “life-threatening” condition and Khalaf’s condition improving, when police updated their status earlier this week.

Faleh Almaleki had evaded police for more than a week since running over the two women.

Noor’s brother, Peter-Ali Almaleki, said their father called home late last week to check on his daughter’s condition but his wife hung up on him.

World Gender Gap Worst in Islamic Nations — Survey Shows Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Yemen, Egypt, Turkey at Bottom of List

By R.E.A.L. Organization • on October 28, 2009
The 2009 report by the World Economic Forum has listed predominantly Islamic nations in the bottom of their annual Global Gender Gap (GGG) Index.   This included such major nations as Pakistan (ranked 132 out of 134), Saudi Arabia (ranked 130 out of 134), Iran (ranked 128 out of 134), Egypt (ranked 126 out of 134), and Turkey (ranked 129 out 134).  Yemen, which is 99 percent Islamic, was the bottom ranked nation as 134 on the Global Gender Gap Index.  The only nation not predominantly Islamic in the bottom of the Global Gender Gap index was Benin.

In addition, the 2009 World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Index report does not include rankings on a number of significant and predominantly Islamic nations where women are oppressed. Somalia (population of nearly 10 million) was not included in the index.  Endless numbers of reports of the stonings and Islamic supremacist abuses of women have been reported in Somalia in the past year, including the stoning to death of a 13 year old girl based on “Sharia law” in October 2008.   Sudan (population of nearly 41 million) was also not included in the World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Index.  Among other nations, Afghanistan (29 million) and Iraq (29 million) are also not included in this Global Gender Gap Index.  With the index not reporting on these 109 million, the desperate fate of an estimated 50 plus million women are not included in this Global Gender Gap index report. Muslims Threaten Breslin Owner After He Laughs Off Bar Demand

H/T Diana West:

The lovely-looking restaurant and bar The Breslin begins lunch service tomorrow, and co-owner Ken Friedman (The Spotted Pig) is planning on serving alcohol despite objections from the Masjid Ar-Rahman mosque across the street. Earlier this month the mosque’s leaders called a meeting with Friedman at The Ace Hotel, where The Breslin is located, and asked, “Can you move the bar?” Friedman’s response makes us want to hurry over to The Breslin right now for a dram of Laphroaig to show our support (and drown out the voices):

I laughed. And the guy said, “Oh, you think that’s funny?” And I said, “Yeah, that is funny, that is really funny, because we’re not going to move the bar just because you discovered we’re serving booze.” Can you name one restaurant in New York that doesn’t serve booze? I said, “This is the United States of America and we’ll do whatever the fuck we want.” He said the mosque had suggested it couldn’t control the behavior of “a few bad eggs”; i.e., we could get a brick through our window.

Friedman notified police of the threat, but just to show he’s not a hard-hearted man, that it’s not all dollars and cents, he agreed to put a curtain over the windows so devout Muslims wouldn’t be corrupted by the sight of infidel inebriation. But the curtain hasn’t arrived yet, so over the weekend he actually taped paper over the windows to hide a gay wedding. A volunteer at the mosque says city law forbids serving liquor within 200 feet of a place of worship and that “not more than 200 feet is between the mosque and the bar.”

But Ace Hotel developer Andrew Zobler tells The Observer, “The law is clear that in order for that to apply it has to be an exclusively dedicated house of worship, and at their space they have both residences and a restaurant, so basically, because of those uses the law allowed there to be a bar within 200 feet. Everyone was aware of that when the liquor license was granted.” And Friedman adds, “They can threaten, but they can’t really stop us.” Yeah, heh, what are these devout, pissed-off Muslims gonna do?

Another article on the same story below the fold. I believe this is a much more important story than perhaps even terrorism as we are more familiar with it, as this type of extortion and intimidation wide spread can collapse a culture and civilization such as ours much much faster than occasional attack.

Ken Friedman.

The much-hyped, soon-to-open Breslin restaurant, situated in the 12-story Ace Hotel on Broadway and 29th, is giving members of the Masjid Ar-Rahman mosque across the street some agita. “Five times a day, there’s a hundred cabs on the street—the good news is you can always get a cab,” co-owner Ken Friedman told the Transom the other evening. He said some mosque visitors “object to seeing people drink alcohol.” Continue Reading →

UK: SCHOOL ALLOWS THUGGISH BEHAVIOUR FOR FEAR OF BEING BRANDED AS RACISTS

A classic example of political correctness run amok. Treating students with kid gloves (read = differently) because they are minorities, is in fact …racism. It’s a shadowy form of racism that thrives within the dogma of political correctness, which focuses solely on Western societal institutions, norms, customs and values.

The idea behind political correctness, the brainchild of cultural Marxists, is to destroy Western society from within by attacking its institutions as being racist. Inevitably, political correctness produces a racism all its own, but that doesn’t phase or stop the cultural Marxists, because when it’s all said and done, they’re not against racism at all, but against Western society.
So here it is in full display, a school staff scared to death of being labeled as “racists”, turn a blind eye to the thuggish behaviour of their students, solely because they are ethnic Pakistanis. This is the direct outcome of PC dogma having been accepted as a mainstream ideology, which has resulted in societal approval of the form of racism that the Tundra Tabloids has long been describing as “humanitarian racism”. KGS

An attributing of intrinsically reduced responsibility for their acts to people of certain ethnic or national groups.” [Dr.Manfred Gerstenfeld, Behind the Humanitarian Mask, The Nordic Countries, Israel and the Jews, pp.22]

He gave his name as Henry Webster when he stepped into the witness box at the High Court in London last week. But he wasn’t the Henry Webster his family and friends remember.

The real Henry Webster was a strapping 6ft 2in rugby player, not someone who struggled to string sentences together and had to be given painkillers to complete his evidence.

Instead of preparing for college or university, he has been left with learning difficulties, short-term memory loss, and epilepsy. Henry will settle for that because the alternative would have meant not being here at all.

This is the only upside of being attacked with a claw hammer that left an inch-deep impression on his skull.

One claw hammer and 12 teenage thugs versus one young man. Those were the odds when a gang of Asian youths ambushed him.

After their work was done, his attackers punched the air in triumph -‘that’s what you call Paki bashing,’ they yelled.

The thugs have all been jailed. Not all the culprits, however, have been brought to book – not in the eyes of Henry’s family, anyway. They believe teachers at his school, near Swindon – where the assault took place in 2007 when Henry was just 15 – are as guilty as the actual perpetrators themselves.

Why? Because, they say, the school allowed ethnic minority pupils to get away with flagrant misbehaviour, and then handed them less severe punishments than their white classmates because staff feared they might otherwise be accused of racism.

In other words, a culture of ‘ educational apartheid’ prevailed in all but name at Ridgeway School.

Had this not been the case, Henry’s parents insist, their son would probably not have sustained brain damage outside the school tennis courts one day in January nearly three years ago.

Despite a history of domestic terrorism, from Air India to the Toronto 18, Canada has a “serious blind spot” acknowledging that violent extremism imperils our national security, says the new head of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service.

In his first public speech since becoming Canada’s spy master this summer, Richard B. Fadden wasted no time Thursday railing against those he believes ignore, minimize and even applaud terrorism and the people caught up in it, while portraying government efforts to combat extremism as assaults on liberty.

“Almost any attempt to fight terrorism by the government is portrayed as an overreaction or an assault on liberty. It is a peculiar position, given that terrorism is the ultimate attack on liberties,” Fadden told an Ottawa conference of about 300 security and intelligence specialists. Continue Reading →

IFPS and Lord Malcolm Pearson

Here is a chilling interview with the man who invited Geert Wilders to speak at the British House of Lords. ‘This is not a right wing nut’ nor a racist but in fact a liberal in every sense of the word and most importantly, in the true ‘Jeffersonian’ sense of it. Once men of this caliber begin to risk their public profile with opinions which are unfashionable, it is safe to say we have a very real crisis on our collective hands.

Venezuela to ration water in Caracas

Here is the Stratfor SITREP:

Venezuela: Water In Caracas To Be Rationed
October 29, 2009
Venezuela said Oct. 29 that a water conservation program for Caracas will begin Nov. 2 and will last six months, El Nacional reported. The program may include rotating water shutoffs of up to 48 hours at a time. Government officials have stated that the current water shortage was due to a lack of rainfall caused by El Nino and wasteful use by Caracas residents

The real reason, is almost certainly groteque financial mismanagement and its lack of attendance to infrastructure. I personally have been to Venezuela many times. It is or rather was, a nation of plenty. Chavez may hold the record on how fast command and control impoverishes a state as well as actually destroys the very landscape itself.  I hope Obama is watching closely and not just saying “We can do C&C correctly.”
