Interview with Hege Storhaug, Norwegian human rights worker
I had the great privilege of filming an interview with Hege Storhaug, a Norwegian human rights activist and close friend of Bruce Bawer, scheduled to speak in Ottawa June 8 2011 for the Free Thinking Film Society.
She spoke on the consequences of Islamic immigration to Scandinavia and especially Norway. I will be filing her speech tomorrow night and expect to have it up within 48 hours. The interview with her was delightful, although no surprise to readers of Vlad. Still, it is interesting to hear what a moderate has to say about the consequences of Islam to Europe has to say.

Norways new culture of antisemitism
This article caught my eye because of something a long time friend of mine told me. He works at a very fashionable bar in Ottawa where lots of the beautiful people go. He told me that a really hot girl from Norway comes into the bar who studies at a local university and she is looking forward to graduating and going back to Norway where she can teach antisemitism. Actually formally teach it. That is her ambition. Norway is quickly becoming one of the world’s leading capitals of Jew-hatred.
Pro-Israel author Bruce Bawer says his adopted homeland has willingly opened its arms to embrace Islamic terrorists. And there is a reason for this ideology of hate—radical leftism has a historical stranglehold on Norwegians.
Bawer describes Norway’s anti-Semitism to The Jerusalem Post:
It’s a phenomenon of a sort that I never encountered in all my years in the US, and that I once thought had been banished to the dustbin of history. It’s most virulent among the cultural elite—the academics, intellectuals, writers, journalists, politicians, and technocrats.
They’re overwhelmingly on the left, and intensely hostile to the West, to capitalism, to the US and to Israel. Before the fall of the USSR, an extraordinary percentage of them were Communists. They have replaced their affinity to the Soviet Union with sympathy for the great totalitarian ideology of our time: Islamism. Thus they romanticize Palestinians and despise Israel.
Part of the motivation for this anti-Semitism is the influx into Norway in recent decades of masses of Muslims from Pakistan, Iraq, Somalia and elsewhere. Multiculturalism has taught Norway’s cultural elite to take an uncritical, even obsequious, posture toward every aspect of Muslim culture and belief. When Muslim leaders rant against Israel and the Jews, the reflexive response of the multiculturalist elite is to join them in their rantings. This is called solidarity.
Bawer told The Post Norway turned its back on Jews during the Nazi occupation. Although the country allied with America and Israel afterward, Norwegians as a whole never held any fondness for Jews. Since World War II, the county’s radical leftists have indoctrinated Jew hatred into students.
To advance their agenda, pro-Israel speakers are banned from Norwegian universities; Norwegians are taught to define Jews as the “bully” and Muslims as the “victim.” Any Norwegian with the audacity to show support for Israel, defend Jews, and even consider Islamic terror evil, is disregarded and shunned at institutions of higher learning. Only anti-Semitic “critics of Israel, apologists for terrorism, hard-line Islamists and relativizers of the Holocaust” are welcome on Norwegian campuses.

This story comes to the Tundra Tabloids via the NIJ blog, concerning a 15 year old school girl’s op-ed published in the Norwegian newspaper Aftensposten. She describes the anti-Semitism in the school she attends where she is repeatedly, and rather openly referred to as “the Jew” or “fucking Jew” by her fellow students, as well as an incident in which her elderly relatives were refused a ride by a couple of Muslim taxi drivers because they were heading to a synagogue.

I am very tired of comments like “fucking Jew” and “end to Jews.” When I told my grandmother that someone said such things to me in school, she was beside himself. I almost thought she would faint. Little did she know how much Jew hatred in Norway has evolved.
“Jew!” Is a frequently used term of abuse. Not only to Jews but to everyone and everything. “Jew,” if you get bad on a test. “Jew,” if you fall short of the goal in soccer.
The other day I was in a Bar Mitzva (comparable to a Christian confirmation), and relatives from several countries came to celebrate. My grandmother’s siblings were too weak to go to synagogue. They went to a taxi and the driver asked where they were going. The man came from the Middle East, and would not take them to the synagogue. They were bewildered, but went to the next taxi. The same thing happened. This is unbelievable!
Little did she know how much Jew hatred in Norway has evolved.
I’m not Jewish, but my dad is. What’s the point of constantly asking me “isn’t your father a Jew?”. Several times I found excuses to go home early from school, because I can not bear to cry in front of others.
One time I did my homework together with two friends. She said “Jew,” one to the other, and she other said “hush, Xxx is sitting here. ” When she answered first, “It does not matter, she knows that I use Jew as an insult.” To those of you that use the Jew, negro, paki, whore, gay, etc. as an insult: Please end it! Believe it or not, people get hurt.

Muslim population in Western Europe rising
IB NEWS… The population of Muslims in Western Europe has been steadily rising in recent decades, largely due to immigration from the Middle East, South Asia and North Africa.
In Southeastern Europe, much of which once formed part of the Ottoman Empire, Muslims have been present for many centuries, but they are a relatively new phenomenon in the western part of the continent.
On the whole, Muslim’s represent about 5 percent of the population of the EU 27.
Far-right politicians in Europe have long warned that the Muslim numbers will continue to grow due to higher birth rates. Marine Le Pen, the head of France’s anti-immigrant National Front party, who openly discusses the rising number Muslims in France, could conceivably win next year’s presidential election, according to polls.
While the percentage of Muslims as part of the overall population of western European nations are in single digits, a 2009 study by the Telegraph newspaper in the UK estimated that by 2050, Muslims will account for 20 percent of the European Union’s populace. NORWEGIAN DEFENCE LEAGUE DRAWS 10 AGAINST 700 COUNTER PROTESTORS
It’s a start.
For 10 people to gather in public in a country where extremist Leftism has run amok for generations is an accomplishment all by itself. The thuggish “anti-fascist” mob (read = against anyone rejecting herd mentality) cannot tolerate independent thinking and freedom of discourse, and they’ll make their disapproval known with both fists and rocks.
The Norwegian Defence League kicked of its first ever public demo, with only a handful of people showing up. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, seeing that 700-1000 Leftist drones showed up to defend Islam and it’s totalitarian sharia. Here are a few pics from the Dagbladet, H/T Fjordman.
