Leaps of logic.

There will be a lot to say in the coming days about the barbaric mass murder by Anders in Norway. I have quite a bit to say on it myself but I would like to wait till some more accusations and absurd connections and asignation of guilt are made. Meanwhile, Pamela Geller made a rather excellent post about those who would make leaps of logic to cast blame.

One thing is certain. If blogs like mine or Gates of Vienna or Fjordman etc. can be blamed for inspiring this monster — blogs that have never once advocated violence, that have been firmly against terrorism no matter who it was by, people like Geert Wilders that wish to preserve a culture of modern liberalism and pluralism against the mono-culturalist Islam and its totalitarian illiberal legal ‘system’ — if all these people are to blame, then how can those same people say that the Koran, which is nearly one long solid incitement to terror and murder, rape and taking of slaves, of manifest destiny and mass slaughter and theft of all things belonging to unbelievers, how can those same people who accuse we of the fledgling pro-classical-liberalism, pro-women’s rights and gay rights (to varying degrees, granted), how can they accuse us of being the inspiration to this one lone Norwegian mass murdering monster and yet absolve the Koran for its role in inspiring many of history’s greatest genocides, from the Nazi one (Muslim SS divisions in the Balkans) to the unimaginable genocide of Hindus, causing the Gypsy Diaspora, to Europe, and on, and on, and on.

There will be fallout for some time over this horrific attack on Norway and Norwegians. Here is the press release from the NDL, which well reflects the sentiments of the entire counter-jihad movement I am certain, in spirit if not in detail. Certainly all of us in the counter-jihad mourn with Norway. This attack was as senseless as it was horrific.

It is also interesting that a few days before this attack, police in Oslo conducted a drill on how to deal with a scenario eerily like the one yesterday. At that site there is a video of the drill and details.

Police have said the Norwegian terror attacks do not appear to be linked to Islamist terrorism.

The 32-year-old Norwegian man arrested for gunning down children on the holiday island of Utoya has been named locally as Anders Behring Breivik.

Described as 6ft tall and blond, he is reported to have arrived on the island of Utoya and opened fire after beckoning several young people over in his native Norwegian tongue.

Reports suggest he was also seen loitering around the site of the bomb blast in Oslo two hours before the island incident.

It seems that 30 or so people have been murdered in and around Oslo by Muslims in the name of Islam

At the time I posted this, some world wide jihadi group had claimed responsibility for this attack. Now, media are accusing a ‘right wing extremist’ for the attack and some websites are even naming people as the culprit who cannot possibly have done it unless they are capable of bilocation.

I will refrain from saying anything more about this till there is some actual evidence. Much of what is being published I know for a fact to be untrue although not necessarily a conscious lie.

In a few minutes I will post a compilation video of several clips showing the awful unforgivable horror that whoever did this caused.

6.47pm: Norwegian media is now reporting seven people killed by the bomb blast and two seriously injured.

6.40pm: Police are saying they believe the person(s) responsible for the bomb to be foreign, according to the BBC.

But the attacker in Utoya, now arrested, looked Norwegian, NRK reports (thanks to @Pb1231 for the link)

Witnesses who have managed to escape from the island, says to NRK reporters on the spot that the perpetrator had a Norwegian look. He should be between 185 to 190 cm tall and have blond hair.

6.21pm: Four people have been killed on the island of Utoya, an official from the AUF, the youth wing of the Labour party, told Varden (Update: TV2 is now reporting “several” people shot dead):

County Secretary Telemark AUF says that there is panic on the summer camp of the Labour Party’s Youth Camp.

There has been a shootout.

Based on what I have seen, at least four people are shot and killed.

6.12pm: NRK is reporting that one person has been arrested on the island of Utoya, where the shooting took place.

6.09pm: NRK is reporting that an unknown group called “Helpers of the Global Jihad” have posted a message that this is only the beginning of the reaction to Norwegian periodicals publishing the Muhammed cartoons, according to Andrew Boyle, a journalist in Norway.

Blast rocks central Oslo, Norway PM’s office

(Reuters) – A huge explosion wrecked government buildings in central Oslo on Friday including Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg’s office, injuring several people, a Reuters journalist said from the scene.

The cause of the blast was unknown but the tangled wreckage of a car was outside one building and the damage appeared consistent to witnesses with that from car bombs. Police and fire officials declined comment on the cause.

The blast blew out most windows on the 17-storey building housing Stoltenberg’s office, as well as nearby ministries including the oil ministry, which was on fire.

Heavy debris littered the streets and a tall plume of brown smoke over the city center.

A Reuters correspondent counted at least eight injured people. Norwegian news agency NTB said that Stoltenberg was safe in the blast, which happened around 3:30 p.m. (9:30 a.m. EDT).

“It exploded — it must have been a bomb. people ran in panic and ran. I counted at least 10 injured people,” said Kjersti Vedun, who was leaving the area.

NATO member Norway has sometimes in the past been threatened by leaders of al Qaeda for its involvement in Afghanistan. It has also taken part the NATO bombing of Libya, where Muammar Gaddafi has threatened to strike back in Europe.

However, political violence is virtually unknown in the country.
