BALTIMORE – A 21-year-old Baltimore man has been arrested for attempting to blow up a military recruitment center in Catonsville, Md., with a fake bomb supplied by federal agents.
Federal authorities say Antonio Martinez, also known as Muhammad Hussain, attempted to detonate what he thought to be a vehicle bomb Wednesday morning at the Armed Forces Career Center.
Court records paint Martinez as obsessed with jihad and intent on punishing the military. He praised Nidal Hassan, the U.S. Army major who killed 13 people at Fort Hood, Texas, and discussed obtaining weapons and shooting up military installations, records show.
In November, he was observed on a public computer viewing videos of Osama bin Laden and an Iraqi martyrdom. He discussed in public postings on his Facebook page how the “reign of oppression is about 2 cease.”
It was through the social networking site that he communicated at times with an FBI informant, saying he wanted to go to Pakistan or Afghanistan and join the ranks of the “mujahideen.”
He told the confidential source that if the military continued to kill Muslims, “they would need to expand their operation by killing U.S. Army personnel where they live,” records show. Last night I posted an instructional video made by a Scandinavian Muslim on how not to integrate to the west and how women must resist the call to freedom and equal rights. There was also of course, the mandatory dig at Jews in it, but that was the least shocking part of it.
In any case, a self declared Muslim commented on the video to which I answered and led to the following thread. Frankly, I’m not sure if it’s funny or not exactly. But I think it is post worthy. So here it is.

A staggering 80 cases of suspected child sexual exploitation have been reported to Preston detectives in just three months.
A specialist team, which was set up to deal with grooming and child sexual exploitation, has seen a significant rise in the number of referrals since it was formed 18 months ago.
Last week, Mohammed Moosa, 24, of Holmrook Road, Deepdale, Preston, was given a three-year jail sentence after pleading guilty to abduction and sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl.
Moosa was snared after the Deter Team, made up of a team of experts including police, social workers and charities, was put on the case of two young girls who had been reported missing from home.
The team traced Moosa and a second man, Faisal Ghani, who admitted abduction, to a hotel in Blackpool where the girls were found to have had drank large amounts of alcohol and had taken drugs.
The case preceded a further 79 referrals which were taken to the Deter Team between the start of April and the end of June.
Speaking to the Evening Post, a victim’s mother said she had no idea her daughter was being targeted until it was too late.
But DI Jonathan Holmes, head of the public protection unit at Preston police, said having a specialist team means families are now better equipped to see the warning signs.
He said: “We have recently observed an increase in the reporting of this type of crime, which we have attributed to better scanning methods and increasing work with parents.
“We now have a dedicated team to deal with this kind of sexual exploitation.
“Part of that team’s role is to work with partner agencies and to increase awareness in the community of this type of crime and we have seen an increase in reporting of this type of crime as a result.”
Many of the cases which the team has investigated have followed a pattern which sees the offender form a ‘relationship’ with the young victim by showering them with gifts to give them a sense of independence.
This leads to many of them not realising they are being exploited, believing instead they are in a meaningful relationship.
He said: “This type of crime is likely to be under-reported.
“The nature of the crime is such the victims do not appreciate they are being victimised.
“This is because they are being subject to grooming which will take the form of gifts, alcohol, mobile phones or cash.
“The offender often grooms the victim over a lengthy period of time in order to create a situation where the victim is not necessarily aware of what’s happening to them.
“The effect is they themselves may not report any offences because they feel they are in a close relationship with the offender.”
While the number of cases being referred to the team has increased, DI Holmes claimed it was too early to say whether it is a major issue.
He said: “The Deter Team is still establishing itself but in three or four years’ time we will be able to see where reporting is.
“It is a bit early to say how big a problem it is, but we are certainly getting increasing reports and are keen to take positive action against offenders whenever we get that information.”
While many victims initially may not realise they are being abused, DI Holmes said the offenders should not be regarded in a different light to any other child sex offender.
He said: “These people are sex offenders. In my view, for an adult to have sex with an adolescent is paedophilic behaviour. It is done through a grooming process.
“Typically, they might be in their early teens. Mohammed Moosa is 24 and he was having sex with a 13-year-old.”
Charity Crop (Coalition for the Removal of Pimping) is one of the groups which works with the Deter Team to support the parents of child sex victims and it has dealt with more than 500 cases in the past five years.
Cat Tatman, a parent support worker, said the Deter Team means Preston is in a better position than many parts of the country, but there is a long way to go.
She said: “We are still at the point where we are seeing the tip of the iceberg.
“If you have one focused effort, as in Lancashire, the perpetrators are often one or two steps ahead and often push their operations out of the county boundaries.
“In Derby, they (police) were getting very good at picking kids up in the city centre, so they were moving out to Derbyshire.
“It is certainly not a new problem, but it is something we are just becoming aware of the level and extent of it.”
The Deter Team also includes a detective sergeant, three detective constables, one local intelligence officer, three social workers, members of the Children’s Society and a Group Intervention Panel.
Social workers can refer parents, whose children are suspected of being groomed in the Preston area, to SEEN (Sexual Exploitation Ends Now) which provides advice on what signs to look for and support for the victims.

Mob justice has been quite the norm, in Sindh, in Punjab and elsewhere in the country. The killings in Sialkot are a reminder that these murderers are getting more brutal, more dehumanised with each incident. The cause More..s behind the madness that led to the lynching are still being probed. What is clear, however, is that the police were involved. Video footage of the incident shows policemen who seem to be part of the mob.
The Supreme Court has taken notice of the double murder. The SHO ‘concerned’ has been arrested and a case registered against 14 people. The IG Punjab has suspended a few policemen in Sialkot and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also woken up to the situation. As he castigated the police the chief justice remarked: “What message have you given to the world about Pakistan?” One could say, with due respect to the judiciary, that the act would have been bad enough had it remained hidden from an international audience.
BBC… Seven people have been killed and 14 injured in a bomb blast in China’s Xinjiang region.
The explosion happened in Aksu city in the west of the remote western region.
A local government spokeswoman, Hou Hanmin, said a Uighur [Muslim] man drove a three-wheeled vehicle carrying an explosive device into a crowd.
The man was arrested at the scene and investigations were ongoing, Ms Hou said.
Four of those hurt had suffered serious injuries, she said.
Last year deadly ethnic riots erupted in Xinjiang after tensions flared between the Muslim Uighur minority and the Han Chinese.
There have also been a number of blasts in Xinjiang in the past, which the government blames on Uighur [Muslim] separatists.
Speaking on Thursday before the blast occurred, Xinjiang Governor Nur Bekri told journalists that China faced a “long and fierce and very complicated struggle” in Xinjiang.
“Separatism in Xinjiang has a very long history, it was there in the past, it is still here now and it will continue in the future,” AP news agency quoted him as saying.
Chinese authorities say a small group of militants are behind attacks in Xinjiang.

AINA) — On August 13 Sheikh Tobah, Imam of the village of Shimi 170 KM south of Giza, called during Muslim Friday prayers for Jihad against Christians living there. As a result the Christian Copts living in the village were assaulted over two consecutive days. Eleven Copts were hospitalized and many Coptic youths were arrested.
The assaults begain a couple of hours after the Sheikhs incitement. An argument between Copt Maher Amin, who was washing his taxi, and Mohamed Ali Almstaui, a Muslim extremist from the village, escalated into violence as Mohamad assaulted Maher. The altercation was stopped by bystanders. However, after the evening break of Ramadan fast, Ahmad, the brother of the perpetrator Mohamad, who is reported to belong to an extremist organization, together with twenty other men, went to Maher’s family home, breaking down the door and assaulting him and his family with batons, including his old mother and his paralyzed sister, injuring them and breaking their furniture.

The Koran and the Psychopathology of the Prophet (Part II)

Considerable effort was made in Part I of this essay to refute the argument that the Koran is the infallible word of God who declared Islam as “The Perfect Deen (Arabic word for religion)” during the farewell pilgrimage of prophet Mohammad in 632.
Readers who are interested in the findings of Western scholars who, after a meticulous analysis of the history and the content of the Koran, reached the conclusion that it was nothing but a series of plagiarized and distorted stories, borrowed from Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Christianity, etc.. .to fit the political agenda of a psychopath named Mohammad or Chairman Mo, should read the following academic publications:
Theodor Nöldeke: The Origins of the Koran: Classic Essays on Islam’s Holy Book. The German scholar highlights very interesting points about the confrontations involving Mohammad and his followers accusing him, on more than one occasion, of changing verses and conveying conflicting instructions. Chairman Mo was quick to point out to his detractors the notion of “Abrogation”. Basically Mo argued that “Divine Wisdom” can issue new instructions and cancel old ones, and since Islam is a faith advocating total surrender/submission to the will of God, the most recent instructions should be unquestionably obeyed, and no Muslim should pursue an explanation as to why Allah, the source of “The Perfect Deen”, failed to provide perfect laws and verses in the first place, and had to go back to the drawing board to design, adopt, and convey new laws to Chairman Mo.
Nöldeke addresses also in his writings the issues of arbitrary leaps in the Suras from one subject to another, with total incoherence and lack of chronological progress in the stories promoted by Chairman Mo, all of it complicated by a blatant misuse of non-Arabic names and expressions borrowed from other religions. The German scholar died in 1930 without any exposure to the book of Neuropsychologist Dr. Abbas Sadeghian entitled Sword and Seizure. He would have adopted a more benevolent approach in his analysis, had he known that epileptics, like Chairman Mo, do suffer from memory problems after a seizure. Even a minor seizure that does not lead to unconsciousness can seriously disrupt someone’s train of thought, that is why frequent recollection glitches created a heavy dose of incoherence in Islam’s Holy Book-the Koran.

FOUR key suspects who confessed to involvement in the bomb blasts were paraded before journalists yesterday.
Two of them, Edris Nsubuga and Haruna Hassan Luyima, cried over the pain their actions caused. Issa Luyima and Haruna Hassan Luyima are brothers, while Nsubuga is their friend. The fourth suspect was identified as Mohamood Mugisha.
“I am very sorry for the loss of life. I was hesitant to pick on Ugandans. My target was the Americans, who I think are responsible for the suffering in the world. Toronto Police are helping their Windsor colleagues search for a murder suspect by plastering a reward poster in the Eglinton Avenue West and Weston Road area.
Windsor Police have issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for Hagi on a charge of first-degree murder.
The 27-year-old is being sought in connection with the Dec. 22, 2007 death of Luis Acosta-Escobar, who was found dead of gunshot wounds near a Windsor nightclub.
Det. Wayne Parsons of the Windsor Police’s major crimes branch told CTV News on Wednesday that they know Hagi took a cab to Toronto in the hours after Escobar’s death.
“He was anxious to get out of town,” Parsons said.
They know Hagi had approached people on the street, including an off-duty firefighter, and offered them a large amount of cash to be driven to Toronto, he said. Continue Reading →
NATIONALPOST…U.S. NAVAL BASE GUANTANAMO, Cuba — The judge in Omar Khadr’s war crimes case has ruled that self-incriminating statements the Toronto native made during interrogations are admissible at trial – and were not the product of torture, as the defence claimed.
The judge also ruled that a video apparently showing Khadr making and planting land mines is admissible, rejecting the defence argument it was obtained based on information coerced from Khadr.
Omar Khadr has pleaded not guilty to all five war crimes charges he faces at the U.S. naval base in Guantanamo Bay, among them the murder of Special Forces Sgt. First Class Chris Speer, who died in a grenade attack.
Earlier Monday, in a video shown at the Canadian-born terror suspect’s hearing, he warns Guantanamo Bay guards trying to weigh him for the International Red Cross that “God will take … revenge” on the United States.
“I am here in prison, but there are millions of people outside,” Mr. Khadr says in the May 2006 clip. “What’s happening to you is not for nothing.”
Khadr’s defence opposes a prosecution bid to have the video admitted into evidence at his trial, which is expected to begin Tuesday with selection of U.S. military officers who’ll serve on the jury as commission “members.”
Mr. Khadr, 23, alleges in a February 2008 affidavit that guards mistreated him during the weighing session, claiming they “pressed on my pressure points.”
The clip appears to show the guards somewhat restrained as they push him toward the scale and point out that all his “brothers” — a reference to other detainees — had allowed themselves to be weighed without protest.
“Come on man, it’s not that bad,” says a guard after Mr. Khadr claimed the treatment was a “very small example of what’s really going on” at the detention facility.
“We’re not doing this to hurt you, torture you,” another guard’s voice is heard saying, amid explanations that his weight was simply needed for his health record and Red Cross review records.
Indeed, after Mr. Khadr had spent about 20 minutes resisting the guards, there came indications that he had been playing to the camera as he switched from the English he used to speak to the guards, to Arabic to speak with fellow detainees in nearby cells.
“May God reward him. The camera is with him,” a detainee shouts in Arabic, which had been translated in subtitles.
Mr. Khadr was in court to watch the video after saying at his last hearing last month that he intended to boycott further sessions, saying he didn’t want to help the United States further its “political goals.”
Monday’s session had been scheduled to essentially conclude defence arguments that a slew of prosecution evidence — mostly self-incriminating statements Mr. Khadr had made, but also the “weighing” video — should be “suppressed.”
Army Col. Patrick Parrish, presiding judge, is expected to rule later Monday on the defence request, which contends that Khadr made the self-incriminating statements to a series of officers after enduring interrogations that involved the use of coercive techniques.
Mr. Khadr, 15, at the time of his capture in Afghanistan in July 2002, faced interrogations at the U.S. base in Bagram in that country before being transferred to the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay in October 2002, where he remains.
“By the time he left Bagram, he was broken … by the actions of people in uniform … specifically Interrogator No. 1,” said Lt. Col. Jon Jackson, Khadr’s Pentagon-appointed attorney, as he referred to Khadr’s chief Bagram interrogator — a soldier who was later convicted in a court martial for “maltreatment” of another detainee.
Lt.-Col. Jackson recalled that the interrogator had sought to frighten Khadr by making up a story of how an uncooperative Muslim detainee had been dispatched to a U.S. prison and raped there by other inmates.
“Once he said those words to Mr. Khadr, the well was poisoned, and the government can’t cleanse the well … by saying someone (else) came in and was nice to him,” Lt.-Col. Jackson told the court.
“To him, when he was interrogated, all those faces were the same.”
Lt.-Col. Jackson urged the judge to consider the “outcry” by the U.S. government if a U.S. soldier had been the victim of such a scenario.
“Tell the world that we actually stand for what we say we stand for,” Lt.-Col. Jackson said to the judge.
But air force Capt. Chris Eason, one of the prosecutors, said Mr. Khadr had switched to speaking in detail about his alleged actions not because he had faced any tough interrogation, but after the United States presented him with a video U.S. forces had found that showed the Toronto native appearing to take part in a mine-making and laying operation.
Capt. Eason quoted from the earlier testimony of one of the interrogators, who said: “That’s when the floodgates opened.”
According to Capt. Eason, statements in which Mr. Khadr speaks of tossing the hand grenade that fatally wounded a U.S. soldier, and other matters relating to his alleged terrorist background, should be admitted as evidence at trial.
“It’s truth that we can rely on,” he said.
Mr. Khadr faces up to life in prison if convicted of the five charges he faces.

Four men were convicted today of murdering a couple in a bungled honour killing arson attack.
Abdullah Mohammed, 41, and his wife, Aysha Mohammed, 39, were overcome by smoke and fumes after petrol was poured through their letterbox and set alight.
Hisamuddin Ibrahim, 21, wanted to punish a man who was having an affair with his married sister and ordered three men to cause a blaze at his terraced home in the early hours while he was asleep.
But the wrong address was targeted as the blaze was started at the home of the Mohammeds in 175 London Road in Blackburn, Lancashire - instead of the intended address of 135 London Road.
A jury at Preston Crown Court took just 90 minutes following a six-week trial to convict Ibrahim, Habib Iqbal, Sadek Miah and Mohammed Miah (no relation) of their murders. Continue Reading →

Nine men have been convicted for their role in the sexual exploitation of a 14-year-old girl from Rochdale.
The men gave the victim drugs and alcohol and forced her to have sex with men for money.
The girl went missing from home in Rochdale on two occasions, first on 16 February and again on 22 February 2008.
The second time she was missing for 11 days – turning up in Rusholme, Manchester. When officers spoke to her she told them she had been sexually
exploited by a number of men while she was missing.
Over the following weeks the girl was spoken to by a specialist team of officers. She was able to identify the places she was taken and the men who had abused her.
She had been abused by a number of different men as she went from one vulnerable situation to another. In many cases, the men she was associating with were not linked, but they did all identify the child’s vulnerability and take advantage of her.
Superintendent Paul Savill from GMP, said: “This child has been through an absolutely horrifying ordeal at the hands of these men.
“The level of abuse she has suffered is almost beyond belief. She has been treated like a commodity; beaten, threatened and sexually exploited.
“These men took advantage of her vulnerability with no regard for her wellbeing.
“I commend this young girl for her bravery in supporting this case. Even after her ordeal she was able to revisit the sites where she was abused and testify against her abusers in court. This is not easy and can often be the main obstacle we face when trying to bring prosecutions in cases of child sexual exploitation.
“In Manchester we have a specially trained team called the Protect Team who specialise in dealing with victims of child sexual exploitation. They help these young people to pursue prosecutions while coming to terms with what has happened to them and moving on with their lives.”
The Protect Team involves GMP and Manchester Children’s Services working with children’s charities to combat the issue of child sexual exploitation.
Their work involves disrupting, investigating and prosecuting offenders, while offering the support to victims and their families from a specially trained team of professionals.
The victim herself has released a statement about her ordeal: “These people exploit young girls, introduce them to prostitution, feed them drugs and alcohol and tell them they love them. I know this because it has happened to me and it has changed my life enormously. I just hope that people will be more aware of this now and will be able to prevent this from happening to other vulnerable young girls.
The victim’s parents have released the following statement: “We are very proud of our daughter for her courage in assisting Greater Manchester Police with the prosecution of these abusers who caused her such terrible harm. No family should have to endure a nightmare experience like the one we have been through.
“Sadly, we now know that many young and vulnerable teenaged girls are targeted, groomed and abused in this way by such offenders; we support our daughter in hoping that these successful prosecutions will send a message that will help protect other children.”
Offender Details
Asad Yousaf Hassan, 28, of Rivington Street, Rochdale was sentenced to two years in prison after admitting two counts of sexual activity with a child.
Mohammed Basharat, 28, of Prospect Street, Rochdale was sentenced to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a child under 16.
Mohammed Atif, 29, of Rivington Street, Rochdale was sentenced to two years in prison after admitting to sexual activity with a child.
Aftab Khan, 31, of Tarporley Avenue, Fallowfield pleaded guilty to one count of controlling a child prostitute and one count of sexual activity with a child. He was sentenced to nine years in prison. This was later reduced to seven years on appeal.
Abid Khaliq, 30, of Shrewsbury Street, Stretford was sentenced to eight months in prison after admitting perverting the course of justice.
Ahmed Noorzai, 29, of Royce Court in Hulme was sentenced to four years in prison after he was found guilty of paying for the sexual services of a child.
Mohammed Anwar Safi, 31, of no fixed address was sentenced to 31 months in prison after admitting paying for the sexual services of a child.
Mohammed Khan, 26, of Royce Court, Hulme was sentenced to four years in prison after he was found guilty of facilitating child prostitution.
Najibullah Safi, 32, of Reabrook Avenue, West Gorton was sentenced to two years in prison after admitting to sexual activity with a child.
