Egypt: Coptic Church bombing suspects released
Cairo, 11 April (AKI) – Twenty people arrested on suspicion of taking part in the deadly New Year’s bombing of a Coptic Church in the port city of Alexandria have been freed from prison, according to Egyptian newspaper Al-Dustur.
The release of the suspects was ordered by general Mohammed Hussein Tantawi, part of the military council that took power in February after nationwide anti-government protests ousted president Hosni Mubarak after around 30 years in power, the report said.
Twenty-four people were killed and around 100 injured during the bombing that sparked rioting and protests and drew international condemnation.
Coptic Christians account for about 10 percent of Egypt’s population.
At least one of those freed claim to be have been detained to silence his criticism of the the state.
Ibrahim Ibata says he was arrested because he claimed his friend was killed by police during an interrogation.
Some of the suspects have called a press conference for Thursday during which they are expected to describe their alleged torture in prison.

Look, I know it’s April Fool’s Day but please bear with me. What follows is not a spoof. You couldn’t make it up.
Police and council officials took a coachload of thugs from the West Midlands on a day-trip to Blackpool to keep them out of trouble.
On arrival, some of the yobs went on the rampage and kicked a father-or-two senseless in front of his pregnant girlfriend and children.
This excursion, which cost taxpayers more than £2,000, was the brainchild of the Safer Sandwell Partnership, a collaboration between no fewer than 20 publicly-funded agencies.
After careful consideration, it was decided to remove 19 young men from the streets of Dudley to prevent them becoming involved in ‘anti-social behaviour’ on the day of a planned march by the right-wing English Defence League.
All were from Asian or Muslim backgrounds and were identified as potential troublemakers. It was thought that they might try to disrupt the march, leading to violence.
Their ethnic origin is only relevant in the context of the nature of the demonstration and the understandable desire to prevent racial confrontation.
You can’t imagine the police bussing West Bromwich Albion fans to Skegness for the day to stop them clashing with Wolves supporters outside the Hawthorns.
So why, you might ask, was this band of brothers singled out for a beano to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and not the many thousands of other young Asian men who also might take offence at the sight of the EDL marching through their home town?
It may have something to do with the fact that all were members of a gang ‘known to the police’ and two of them were on bail for an alleged hammer attack in Tipton three months earlier.

The statistic about 80% of Mosques in the US being ‘radical‘ that the anchor quotes, is actually higher than 80% and is an FBI statistic that Vlad posted a couple of years ago. It also buggers the definition of radical. If that statistic is correct, then I would say the less than 20% that do not preach ‘radical Islam’ are in fact the true radicals and I would check under my car before I started it if I were them for fear of the 80% which I would more accurately describe as orthodox, conservative, or traditional Islam.

PERNICIOUS ANTI-ISRAEL DOCUMENTARY TARGETS CHRISTIAN EVANGELICAL AUDIENCES
The name of the video itself should sound off warning bells and whistles, “Little Town of Bethlehem“.
The film is actually a disingenuous attempt to draw moral comparisons between the legitimate demands of Black Americans in the 60’s seeking equality in a segregated United States, with a people whose own institutions have repeatedly denied equality to minorities in the areas under their own governance as well as seeking the destruction of another people.
The Arabs living within the Palestinian Authority and in Gaza, persecute their own minorities while forbidding a Jew the right to build a home, let alone live, in the areas of Judea and Samaria. Arab women are brutalized with next to little means to seek justice, homosexuals live in secret and young couples cannot even be seen kissing in public, let alone holding hands. Arab Christians have been leaving their ancient towns in Judea and Samaria ever since Arafat left Tunisia for Ramallah.
Palestinian children are brainwashed in their schools, summer camps, mosques and through their social media to hate the Jews and to seek their murder, with the hope of obtaining a violent death for themselves in order to acheive eternal bliss in the hereafter. If that’s not child abuse what is?
Scenes in the video of Blacks in the US marching arm in arm to protest for their god given rights to live as a free people, can never be compared to a people who loathe “the other” and refuse to live in co-existence with them. The Palestinians (especially the Hamas and other terror orgs.) resemble the KKK, not civil rights activists that laid down their lives for Blacks during the Civil Rights era, of whom some were Jews. What a disgrace of Martin Luther King’s memory and legacy.
The Rev. Martin Luther King would be appalled at his civil rights movement being connected with a people who are for the most part, supremacists themselves, and who are not fighting for equality with another people, but for their destruction as a people.
The Tundra Tabloids views this propaganda film as a modern day version of what passed for “cinema” during the Nazi years in the Third Reich. Wake up you Evangelicals in the US, don’t let these idiots take you for one as well. KGS

Girl gets a year in jail, 100 lashes for adultery

JEDDAH – A 23-year-old unmarried woman was awarded one-year prison term and 100 lashes for committing adultery and trying to abort the resultant fetus.
The District Court in Jeddah pronounced the verdict on Saturday after the girl confessed that she had a forced sexual intercourse with a man who had offered her a ride. The man, the girl confessed, took her to a rest house, east of Jeddah, where he and four of friends assaulted her all night long.
The girl claimed that she became pregnant soon after and went to King Fahd Hospital for Armed Forces in an attempt to carry out an abortion. She was eight weeks’ pregnant then, the hospital confirmed.
According to the ruling, the woman will be sent to a jail outside Jeddah to spend her time and will be lashed after delivery of her baby who will take the mother’s last name. – Okaz/SG __
