The following article about the case of Khalid Saeed is based on a story told by Hans Erling Jensen. It was written by the editor of Sappho (the website of the Danish Free Press Society), and was translated into English by Hans Erling Jensen.
Is it an expression of Swedish hypocrisy when their authorities choose to send an apostate that left Islam back to Pakistan? The current case indicates that it is best to be a Muslim if you want to apply for asylum in Sweden.
In Sweden there is room for everyone. Or almost everyone! One of the few who did not merit entry is the Pakistani refugee Khalid Saeed, who has just been refused asylum.
But it is easy to be lured into thinking otherwise, that Khalid is qualified for a place in Sweden’s safe and sound embrace. According to his own statements, he and his family received very serious threats in their homeland.
It is an assertion which seems credible when Khalid also says that he is an apostate Muslim (he calls himself “humanist”). And he has not only distanced himself from his faith, he has done so publicly on his blog.
That should turn on all the warning lights!
In Pakistan he received a visit from several of Allah’s faithful. They maltreated him and threatened his life. Then he (and his family) went underground and escaped through a roundabout route to Sweden. NTB) POURED BOILING WATER OVER ASYLUM APPLICANT
Aftenposten: A 27 year old asylum applicant from Africa is charged with pouring boiling water over an asylum inmate of the same age at Hå reception centre.
According to the victim, who is an Afghan national, he had boiling water poured over him because he had converted from Islam to Christianity.
This had become apparent when other asylum applicants asked him why he wasn’t fasting during ramadan, according to Aftenbladet (a Norwegian newspaper)
But the police says that the bodily harm was not religiously motivated. (my italics)
– We think this is about bodily harm without aggravating circumstances, police attorney Øyvind Haukland said to the paper.
The penalty limit is three years’ imprisonment.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious burns, and he has since moved to another centre. He is not the only one who has found it necessary to move from this reception centre, according to Aftenbladet.
Several other applicants have converted to Christianity and some of them are said to have chosen to live with church goers at Jæren, according to the paper.
The incident took place at the reception centre on the 23rd of August last year.
Many of us have been harrassed, bullied and beaten for a long time. Now it is even worse, two 20 year old asylum applicants from Afghanistan told Aftenbladet.

As reported to Fides by the NGO “Christian Solidarity Worldwide”, which monitors the rights of Christians in the world, eleven Iranian Christians have fled Iran because of persecution against the Christian evangelical community, they have received death threats by e- mail. The senders of the message, have signed themselves as “unknown Soldiers of the Hidden Imam” and ask them to repent, or else “will be eliminated without mercy”. I must say, having lived in Canada for a very long time now, it stuns me to find myself so consistently proud of my Government and my country. Yet another excellent reason to be below.

(No. 277 – September 28, 2011 – 10:30 ET) Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird today expressed concern over reports that Iran may soon execute an Iranian Christian, Youcef Nadarkhani, for apostasy:
“Canada deeply deplores reports that an Iranian Christian pastor, Youcef Nadarkhani, could be imminently executed for refusing an order by Iran’s courts to recant his faith.
“We continue to call upon Iran to uphold its obligations under international human rights law, including the right to freedom of religion or belief.
“This is a universal human right that Canada continues to champion, including most recently at the United Nations General Assembly.
“Iran consistently violates the human rights of minorities, including Christians and Bahá’í.
“Our government is committed to establishing an Office of Religious Freedom to promote and protect these rights around the world, ensuring that this type of persecution does not go unchecked.”

Execution Looms for Iranian Pastor Who Refuses to Renounce His Christian Faith

(CNSNews.com) – An Iranian pastor who refuses to renounce his Christian faith could be hanged as soon as Wednesday, after a trial court ruling this week upheld his death sentence for “apostasy.”
Religious freedom advocates are calling urgently for governments to take up the case of Youcef Nadarkhani, a 32-year-old evangelical first sentenced to death late last year. If the sentence is carried out he will be the first Iranian Christian known to have been executed for his faith in 21 years.
Nadarkhani embraced Christianity at the age of 19, and since his Supreme Court appeal last June, proceedings focused on the question of whether he was a practicing Muslim at the time.

Sweden: Imam calls to kill converts on Radio Sweden Via Dagen (Swedish): “It is the duty of every Muslim to kill those who leave Islam.” This statement was made on Radio Sweden recently when an Imam from Rinkeby (Stockholm) was allowed to speak about how people should act against Somalis who convert to Christianity.
The program with the death threats against converts was broadcast by the Somali department of Radio Sweden and was a follow-up on a previous segment about a group of Christian Somalis who came to Rinkeby Square to evangelize. They also got to talk about it in the radio report.

Five Christians Sentenced to Prison

Last week, five Iranian Christians were sentenced to a total of 5 years in prison despite the fact that they were exonerated of all charges by a lower court. They were retried because the prosecutor had objected to the initial verdicts.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the Appeals Court of Fars Province has handed down a one year prison term for Behroz Sadeq Khanjani, Mohammad Belyad, Nazli Kamarian, Parviz Khalaj and Mehdi Forotan.
Mathias Hagh-Nejad who was recently released on a bail approximately equivalent to $28,000 confirmed the verdicts against these individuals and said, “Additionally, I am waiting for my trial, and Mehrdad Gharoni, another Christian citizen, is locked up behind bars in the Intelligence Agency’s detention center in Esfahan. Yosef Nadarkhani will also be tried in Gilan’s Revolutionary Court, Branch 11, on September 25, 2011.
After the new verdicts were issued by the Appeals Court, these five Christian citizens were summoned to serve their prison terms.
Today, Christian Democratic Union in Germany released a letter written to Iranian Embassy to vehemently object to the incarceration of Yosef Nadarkhani and to ask for his immediate release. Yosef Nadarkhani is a Christian priest sentenced by Gilan’s Revolutionary Court to die on charges of apostasy.

I had to escape and flee the asylum reception center in fear for my life, “Arsland” tells the news paper Dagen.
“Arsland” is from Afghanistan, converted to Christianity a while a go, and is now baptized as a Christian.
Arsland is friends with “Ali”, the Christian convert from islam who got attacked with boiling water and acid at the asylum reseption a few days ago.The young Afghan man is afraid to show his face and real name to the reporters, because he knows the muslims are out to get a hold of him.
Hostile attitude:
– Another Christian friend of mine also noticed the hostile attitude of Muslims at the reception. “We must escape, for I fear that they will kill us,” he said.
So I rode off at 1:30 Sunday morning, and went to the Bird Park at Nærbø. There, I tried to sleep on a bench while it was raining, says “Arsland”. Sunday he was taken care of by Christian friends who live in that area.
Over the weekend, “Ali” moved to another asylum seeker reception because of the lack of security at Hå asylum reception center. while three other Christian converts from Afghanistan also fled Hå reception center, and is scattered in Jæren among Christian supporters.

I heard screaming and went out of the room to see what happened. I witnessed that “Ali” fell on to the floor after it was being poured boiling water over him. Muslims from Somalia turned loose on him and they shouted · «This is jihad (holy war), says” Arsland “.
