The Burka: not just a piece of cloth. On basic human decency and true respect between the genders.

One of Britain’s leading political critics of Islamisation has spoken out again, this time in opposition to the abomination against women’s rights that is the burka.

The good thing about Abhijit Pandya is his refusal to “take the bait” over Islam. For him suggesting the issue is one of race, culture, or freedom of religion, is erroneous. The encroachments Islam represents are obviously: political; no matter how much Muslims, and others, would like to falsely claim them as “religious”.

This is why it is the duty of politicians to grapple unflinchingly with the subject, and as an Englishman, it’s fantastic to see a second generation immigrant like Pandya robustly proclaiming the traditional values, liberties and freedoms which once made Britain great.

It’s the kind of thing all of us long the political establishment in the UK to have the guts to do. But as the last year’s proven, the stifling paralysis of PC is just as complete under this Conservative-led government, as under the last Labour one.

Why NOT to converse or interact with someone in a burka

From Abhijit Pandya’s blog

Time magazine named her one of most of the important women of the 20th Century stating: ‘she shaped an idea of women for our time; she shook society into a new pattern from which there could be no going back’. ‘She’ was none other than Emmeline Pankhurst, who began the successful movement to have the right to vote for women. [the Suffragettes]

The acts of [the] suffragettes [who] rotted in prison on hunger strikes due to their campaigns for their right to vote are greatly diminished not only at the wearing of the burka in Britain today, but in our appalling tacit toleration of it.

Some of us, who are rightly concerned, often, wrongly, merely grind our teeth rather than raise our voices in this time of censorship through political correctness. If this is done through a fear of being branded a racist, this is misconceived- as it simply cannot be racist to want to emancipate a female from oppression, particularly where they are of another race.

Whether one agrees with it or not, much state and social activism has been spent on teaching women about not accepting abuse from their husbands, of not being bullied in relationships and of fighting the idea that a traditional house-wife is not permitted to have ambition outside the home, such as work.

I, for one, could never indignify the woman’s rights movement’s women by having a conversation with a woman in a burka. That piece of clothing is a marked symbol of difference not just of cultures, but of a want of a basic human decency that supports true respect between the genders.

English historian: “hands off our land.” But what about the people?

Abigail Howarth: banned from applying for a position with the UK Environmental Agency in 2007 for being "White English"

There is an interesting article on the concept of Englishness, the English countryside, and England, in the Telegraph by historian Sir Roy Strong today.

He reminds us of the importance of the countryside in the English national identity, talks about England’s relationships to Scotland and other states in the Union, and reminds us of its artistic culture. So far, so good. But, Sir Roy also suggests that there is no such thing as an English people — at least in an ethnic sense. Is that really… continue reading.

UK Channel 4 TV: terrorist comedy to commemorate 9/11

From European Son
Channel 4 will commemorate the 9/11 attacks on the USA by showing a “mix” of programs, including Chris Morris’s comedy movie Four Lions about British Islamist terrorists.

The announcement was made at the Edinburgh Television Festival by  former BBC1 controller and current Channel 4 chief creative officer Jay Hunt.  Ms. Hunt said that, despite a request by Morris, it would not be shown on the day, but that it would be shown close to that time, “ because it speaks to that issue.” Hunt said, ”I think we should absolutely continue to push those… continue reading!

Britain’s riots and the entitlement culture from top to bottom

First published by Hudson New York and European Son

Anarchists smashing up the RItz and shops in central London. “student” mobs attacking the Conservative Party HQ. And “anti-globalist,” anti-capitalist, and pro-Hamas demonstrations in London. We’ve seen it all over the last few years.

Britain’s recent history is stuffed full of Leftwing violence masquerading as serious politics. No wonder, then, that the BBC and respectable, high-profile individuals on the Left, were convinced that last weeks rioting and widespread violence against police and passersby, muggings and looting were a messgage about “social justice” and Government cuts.

As more and more graphic details filled the news, and with this position apparently indefensible, the “protesters” were recast by the tax-payer funded BBC as the “poor,” merely seeking a crust of bread and a hand up. Next, as viewers began calling in to point out that these “poor” people were communicating via their Blackberries, and looting designer stores, the narrative shifted to worrying about “football fans” who had come out to… continue reading.

UK: Mixed Messages on Radical Islam

From European Son (blog)

In 1993, the murder of Stephen Lawrence, a young Black man of 19, led to wide sweeping reforms within Britain’s police authorities. Mr. Lawrence had been waiting for a bus, minding his own business, when he was attacked by several other young men in an unprovoked attack. Criminal and civil proceedings were brought against five men, but no one was ever convicted of the crime, largely because of shortcomings in the police’s response and subsequent investigation. The press was rightly enraged by the response of the police, and, perhaps, the complicity of some of the investigating officers in the case in obscuring the facts. The case remained a focus of national attention for some time, and resurfaced periodically over the next few years, with the center-Right Daily Mail referring to the formerly accused as “murderers” in one 1997 headline, and challenging them to sue the newspaper in response.

It was widely believed that the crime was motivated by racial hatred. In 1999, after a lengthy investigation into both the murder and the police’s response and subsequent investigations, the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry report was drafted. The inquiry confirmed that there had been serious failings in the police’s actions, and concluded that Britain’s police forces were, in effect, institutionally racist. Continue Reading →

Police ‘covered up’ violent campaign to turn London area ‘Islamic’

From The Telegraph:

Police have been accused of “covering up” a campaign of abuse, threats and violence aimed at “Islamicising” an area of London.

Victims say that officers in the borough of Tower Hamlets have ignored or downplayed outbreaks of hate crime, and suppressed evidence implicating Muslims in them, because they fear being accused of racism.

The claims come as four Tower Hamlets Muslims were jailed for at least 19 years for attacking a local white teacher who gave religious studies lessons to Muslim girls.

The Sunday Telegraph has uncovered more than a dozen other cases in Tower Hamlets where both Muslims and non-Muslims have been threatened or beaten for behaviour deemed to breach fundamentalist “Islamic norms.”

One victim, Mohammed Monzur Rahman, said he was left partially blind and with a dislocated shoulder after being attacked by a mob in Cannon Street Road, Shadwell, for smoking during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan last year.

“Two guys stopped me in the street and asked me why I was smoking,” he said. “I just carried on, and before I knew another dozen guys came and jumped me. The next thing I knew, I was waking up in hospital.” Continue Reading →

New Mosque? Time To Lawyer Up.

In my line of work, such as it is, I meet a lot of people from around the world. One of these is Mr. Gavin Boby, a lawyer who specialises in building applications.

If you want to build something or don’t like the idea of a potential development, then he’d be one of the people you want to talk with. He knows the by-laws, the regulations, and how to deal with the authorities.

That’s what he does.

What makes him a bit different is that he’s now set up a foundation to offer his services pro bono (that’s FREE for those of us who didn’t go onto tertiary education) to help people campaign against the ever-increasing proliferation of mosques.

French Couple in UK Exile Over Niqab Ban

The couple say they cannot return home because of the ban on the face-veil

LONDON – A French Muslim couple living in Britain are to challenge France’s ban on full-face covering at the European Court of Human Rights, saying the ban has driven them out of their homeland.

“The case clearly is of importance to my clients,” lawyer Robina Shah, of the Immigration Advisory Service in Birmingham, told Agnce-France Presse (AFP) on Thursday, June 9.

“As a result of the ban they have had to leave their country of nationality, as the ban restricts their freedom of choice, and that of their daughters.”

The couple, who have chosen to remain anonymous, lodged an application at the Strasbourg court to challenge the French government over the ban on wearing face-veil or niqab.

Shah said her clients, who live in the West Midland with their two children, don’t want to reveal their identity because of the “considerable hostility” in Britain and France to Muslim women wearing the full veil in public.

The couple say the ban restricts their right to free movement across the EU, according to documents sent to the court.

The wife is seeking £10,000 (11,200 euros, $16,400) in damages for the alleged human rights breach posed by the ban, which the couple say is “unnecessary, disproportionate and unlawful.” Continue Reading →

Amir Khadir ridicules the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge calling them parasites.

Editorial.

Canadian MLA Amir Khadir is at it again. When he’s not leading a group of Jew-haters and leftist radicals to weekly harass a private shoe store owner in Montreal for selling Israeli-made shoes, or tossing his own jackboots at photographs of George W. Bush outside the U.S. Consulate in Montreal or voting in favour of dismantling Canada for an independent nation of Quebec, he’s comparing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to parasites and circus freaks.

Khadir, the sole member of Quebec Solidaire Party in the National Assembly, fancies himself not only as a footwear expert but as a bridge between the popular uprisings in Palestine and the people of Quebec who support them. ” I am here so that there can be a link between the intifada in the streets of Palestine and the intifada in the free consciences of Quebecers”. Police ‘hid’ abuse of 60 girls by Asian takeaway workers linked to murder of 14-year-old

TIMESONLINE… At least 60 schoolgirls were groomed for sex by workers at seedy takeaways linked to the murder of a 14-year-old girl.

Children as young as 11 were targeted by mainly Asian staff at fast food outlets in Blackpool. They were offered food, alcohol and cigarettes in return for sexual favours.

An unpublicised police report produced after 14-year-old Charlene Downes vanished in 2003 found the girls, most if not all white, had been victims of the ‘honey pot’ premises. There were claims last night that the report was suppressed for reasons of political correctness.

Four years later another girl, 15-year-old Paige Chivers, also went missing. Detectives believe she was killed like Charlene, whose body has never been found.

Two Middle Eastern restaurant owners were acquitted over Charlene’s murder in 2007 and the crime remains unsolved. Continue Reading →

Britain, Italy hold out Gaddafi exile prospect

Apparently Gaddafi is a bad enough guy that the UN will bomb this piss out of him but his crimes are not bad enough for an arrest.

If Gaddafi is allowed to go into exile how much of Libyas weath will go with him and if this happens how much money from the taxpayers of the west be required to “rebuild” and “stabalize” Libya?

YAHOO NEWS

LONDON (Reuters) – More than 40 governments and international bodies gathered in London on Tuesday to plan for a Libya without Muammar Gaddafi, with Italy and Britain suggesting he might be allowed to go into exile.

With fighting raging between rebels and Gaddafi loyalists, Italy has put forward a proposal for a political deal to end Libya’s crisis, including a quick ceasefire, exile for Gaddafi and dialogue between rebels and tribal leaders.

British Foreign Secretary William Hague also implied exile might be a way to take Gaddafi out of the picture and settle the six-week-old uprising against his 40 years in power.

“We want him to leave power and that’s what we’ve consistently said to the Libyan regime. We are not in control, of course, of where he might go,” Hague told the BBC, adding he believed Gaddafi should face the International Criminal Court. Continue Reading →

UK Authoritarianism: “Terrified of People Thinking for Themselves”

From Hudson New York

“Huge numbers of Britons would support an anti-immigration English nationalist party if it were not associated with violence and fascist imagery,” The Guardian reported last week.

In a certain sense, English nationalism has emerged in opposition to the “neo-imperialism” or “neo-colonialism” of a militant wing that refuses to allow minorities to be English, preferring to keep them “minorities” to be used as political pawns. However, the association of English nationalism with anti-Islamism causes the most alarm: in hoping that radical, anti-Western Muslims would prove useful in instigating revolution, the far-Left has long allied with Islamist organizations.

The UK actually does have such a party: the English Democrats. Founded in 1998 by former Conservative Party member, and its current chairman, Robin Tilbrook, it won its first mayoral election in 2009, with Peter Davies elected mayor for the city Doncaster. In line with The Guardian’s assertions, Tilbrook also believes his party has reached a “critical mass,” and is poised to make further electoral gains.

The sudden interest in, and concern about, the possible appeal of an English nationalist party was almost certainly provoked by a recent Daily Star front-cover story a few weeks ago, in which the tabloid claimed that the English Defence League, an increasingly visible anti-Islamist protest movement, was about to form itself into a political party.

The Daily Star’s reporting caused a considerable stir in the media and blogosphere, not least of all as the EDL’s leader was quoted as saying only that they were not ruling out becoming a political party – which may have been an off-the-cuff remark. Since then, one of the tabloid’s reporters has quit, claiming that the Daily Star peddled anti-Muslim bias and “hatemongering.”

The Guardian’s report on the potential appeal of an English nationalist party was based on… Read More.

Tony Blair changes his tune over immigration saying it produced a ‘challenge’

Tony Blair yesterday admitted for the first time that mass immigration has produced a ‘challenge’ which causes alarm to millions.

The former prime minister acknowledged there was a ‘debate’ over the impact of immigration and whether British generosity in allowing it had been abused.

Mr Blair said immigration had produced both a cultural and economic ‘challenge’.

He made his admission in an article in which he accepted that ‘there is a perception of failure’ over the issue. The view contrasted strongly with his stance as prime minister. In the 2005 election campaign he insisted immigrants had made a ‘huge contribution’ to Britain and condemned opponents for ‘exploiting people’s fears’.

In his 690-page autobiography published last year he devoted only one page to the controversial subject.

Yesterday, however, in Roman Catholic journal The Tablet, Mr Blair declared that immigration – 3.2million came to live in Britain during Labour’s years in power – was a matter of major importance.

He said: ‘A new type of debate is taking shape. While it can centre on immigration or protectionism, it is above all about issues to do with culture and integration – issues that are altogether more vigorous and potentially more explosive.

‘In Europe, the debate is about whether our attempt to integrate cultures has succeeded or failed and, insofar as there is a perception of failure, it is about whether our “generosity” in allowing inward migration and encouraging multiculturalism has been abused.’

Last night Douglas Carswell, MP for Clacton, said: ‘What a pity that Tony Blair waited until he left office to address an issue of concern to millions of people in this country.’

And Sir Andrew Green, of MigrationWatch, said: ‘Having ignored the development of mass immigration for 12 years, Mr Blair has now discovered that Labour’s legacy has left us with huge problems, both economic and social.’

Obama Sells Out Great Britain to Russia

I have mixed feelings about this. If we think of England as it used to be, then this is outrageous and beyond acceptable and Obama needs to be impeached and maybe jailed immediately. If you think of England as it is today, a place where the MI6 even said if it wasn’t for US surveillance on England, it would be a source near constant horrifying terrorism to the world, then suddenly I want Russia being able to disable British nuclear weapons as I think they may be in the hands of Islamics within a few years.

From Viscosimedia

President Barack Obama sells out Great Britain to Russia.
In an incredible breach of trust with an ally of two centuries, United States President Barack Obama secretly agreed to give Russia sensitive information on Great Britain’s nuclear arsenal in order to sweeten the pot for a treaty deal with the former power that was once known as the Soviet Union. WikiLeaks, which has revealed many recent foreign affairs secrets, had kept the information cold.

Obama intends to sign the agreement with Russia next week and this revelation is certain to enrage conservatives on both sides of the pond. The news of this arms deal should cause alarm to all of America’s allies about just how smart it is or isn’t to be a friend of the United States. The relationship between the United States and Great Britain has been referred to as “special” for decades but it has become apparent that Obama has nothing but contempt for it.

On his first day in office Obama had the statue of Winston Churchill removed. A couple of months later he was ice cold to then Prime Minister Gordon Brown, despite the fact that he was a fellow leftist. But this betrayal of nuclear secrets to Russia trumps all of that. Britain has long maintained the need to keep their nuclear power arsenal a secret due to its relatively small numbers in comparison to the powerhouses of the United States and Russia.

WikiLeaks also revealed that the Americans were trying to get dirt on British foreign officials with tidbits on their private lives. It was learned that the only way Russia would consider making an arms deal with the United States was if they were given information about Britain’s nuclear capability.

Police chiefs fly gay pride flag… but are forbidden to put up the Union Jack

Not sure how much more news I can take tonight out of England. Fortunately the EDL march in Luton is tomorrow and I get to use my favourite category, ‘West Fights Back’

Police chiefs have come under fire today for flying the rainbow flag for lesbians, gays and bisexuals outside its police stations – when they are forbidden to display the Union Jack.

The multi-coloured ‘Freedom’ flag adopted by the gay pride movement in the 1970’s is now flying at Suffolk Police’s Ipswich HQ and its stations at Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft.

The flags – which include the force’s badge – are to mark lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history month.

Proud: The rainbow flag flying at Suffolk Police's Ipswich HQ to mark lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history monthProud: The rainbow flag flying at Suffolk Police’s Ipswich HQ to mark lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history month

But there was fierce criticism of the move after it was revealed that stations were not allowed, under force policy, to fly the Union Jack or the Cross of St George.

James Brady, 34, of Bury accused the police of being discriminatory – ‘We don’t seem to have a week celebrating hetrosexuality,’ he said.

‘It’s very disappointing that the police are prepared to put up a flag for a minority at the same time as ignoring the vast majority of people.
