And the desecration of the Koran award goes to….

I don’t know everyone has seemingly missed this guy but he is the most creative despoiler of koran’s I have yet seen. He makes my Korandle pale by comparison. He has done a video every single day since what looks to be January of this year, way before the current Afghan riots, with a new idea each time. Some, too vulgar to write out here, and of course these are the most viewed, and some funny and some banal, but all good solid desecration of Islam’s ‘holy’ book.

This much work I figure deserves an award so I invented the first annual…

Glenn Beck and Center for Security Policy speak on sharia finance

Last Friday, Christopher Holton, the Center’s Vice-President for Administration, Marketing and Development and editor of ShariahFinanceWatch.org participated in an hour-long segment on Glenn Beck’s Fox News program, along with Daniel Pipes of the Middle East Forum. Watch it here:

The main topic of discussion was shariah-complaint finance and the threat it poses to America and Western culture. Shariah compliant finance is the practice of ensuring that all monetary matters are in full compliance with the dictates of Islamic law. Some of these edicts, such as zakat, enable radical Islamists to wage financial jihad to the tune of $1 trillion dollars against the United States. A grave threat indeed. The show also touched on the scandal of the US government’s ownership of the largest provider of Shariah financial products, AIG.

For a very in-depth examination of the issues surrounding Shariah Compliant Finance, see David Yerushalmi’s 72-page paper for the Utah Law Review, Shariah’s Black Box: Civil Liability and Criminal Exposure Surrounding Shariah Compliant Finance. To keep up to date on these issues, follow Christopher Holton’s Shariah Finance Watch blog.

As you know, the Center had been a leader in identifying and exposing the threat Shariah poses to America. This past September, we released the Amazon.com best-seller Shariah: the Threat to America.

Chris’ appearance on Glenn Beck was merely the latest in a long-line of media appearances that the Center has engaged in to educate and articulate the Shariah threat. Thanks to your continued support we will continue in this mission to wage the war of ideas.

Asia Bibi gravely ill, fears for her life, after three months in solitary isolation

by Jibran Khan Asia News:

The Christian sentenced to death for blasphemy has been ill with chicken pox, probably because of the unhygienic conditions of the cell where she is kept. Christians concern for the growing violence against them. Bishop Rufin Anthony: “This Lent we pray for peace in Pakistan. A Pakistan where we can all live freely. ”

Lahore (AsiaNews) – Asia Bibi is sick, in solitary confinement, and there are growing concerns for her life. The Christian sentenced to death for blasphemy on false evidence is sick with chicken pox, because of the appallingly unhygienic conditions she is being kept in. The complaint comes from Haroon Barket Masih, president of the Masih Foundation, who today issued a statement: “Asia Bibi was diagnosed with chicken pox, she has been kept in solitary confinement for more than three months. We have expressed concern about her health, because she spends24 hours a day locked in the cell. She needs medical care, hygienic and healthy conditions. She fell ill with chickenpox because of the dirty environment, and being unable to clean her room or bed sheets on which she sleeps. Despite her ill health she spends her time fasting and praying for everyone, she neglects her health and prays for everyone else. She is concerned about the current situation in Pakistan. We are trying to arrange a medical examination, and to ensure acceptable hygienic conditions. Until now she has had no medical care. ” Continue Reading →

Former Pakistani diplomat attempts to explain the slaughter of Sufi Muslims by regular Muslims.

Another great clip from Wrath of Khan. This Pakistani of course is using the usual dodge, attempting to blame Islamic slaughter on poverty and so on. The host doesn’t seem to go for it.

$2.2 million fatwa on Terry Jones after Quran burning

From Seattle PI

$2.2 million fatwa on Terry Jones after Quran burning
Quran burningDove World Outreach Center ‘executes’ the Quran.

Terry Jones, the Florida evangelical pastor who threatened to hold a Quran burning last Sept. 11 only to back down in the face of international outrage, finally went ahead and burned one.

And now there’s a 2.2-million-dollar price on his head.

Jones appointed himself “judge” and presided over a trial hearing evidence and testimony against Islam’s holy book. A “jury” found the book guilty of crimes against humanity; promoting terrorist acts; raping, torturing and killing people “whose only crime was not being of the Islamic faith.” Also, its treatment of women was found lacking.

Interestingly, lethal injection and electrocution, the two forms of capital punishment in Florida, were not offered to the convicted holy book. Instead, an online Facebook poll picked the sentence from these choices – burning, shredding, drowning or firing squad. Burning won.

Sentence was carried out by soaking the convicted in kerosene, placing it a metal tray and igniting it with a barbecue lighter. Thirty people witnessed the execution.

Jones’ kangaroo court stunt was obviously aimed at provoking a response, but the Council on American-Islamic Relations didn’t take the bait.

“Terry Jones had his 15 minutes of fame and we’re not going to help him get another few minutes,” said Spokesman Ibrahim Hooper.

Unfortunately, Pakistan did.
Pakistan flag burningPakistani Islamists respond to the Florida Quran burning with their own U.S. flag and pastor effigy barbecue.

President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the desecration of the Quran during his address to a joint sitting of parliament. The country’s Foreign Office in Islamabad called it a “despicable act.”

Pakistanis are already angry at the United States over the release last week of an American CIA employee who was arrested after he shot and killed two men who he says were trying to rob him.

Pakistan’s Jamaat-ud-Dawah, a banned Islamic organization and suspected terrorist group, announced a reward of 10 crore rupees (about $2.2 million) for anyone who kills the preacher.

Jones is probably pleased that at least the terrorists are taking him seriously.

Q Time.

Last thursday (March 24th), there was a rather small meeting to officially launch The Q Society. This group is a very interesting one, and definitely to be watched, because they have been out there doing things rather than just talking, which a lot of us sometimes get accused of doing.

In this case, Q have gotten a petition up against the Marrickville council for their promotion of anti-semitism and sponsorship of the BDS campaign.

Now a lot of people don’t realise this, but in Australia, local councils seem to be more concerned with what’s happening overseas rather than doing stuff like, oh, collecting the rubbish, fixing the roads and school crossings. Municipal kind of stuff.

Not Marrickville. Hard Green/Left councillor Fiona Byrne wants to sanction Israel for their action in the Gaza region.

(I do rather suspect that this is yet more of the now commonplace new anti-semitism masquerading as righteous outrage, but what would I know?)

Q also petitioned the Port Phillip council about allowing a community house to expand its use by a muslim group for friday prayers. In an area that is predominantly non-muslim, this is a bizarre thing to do, but again, what would I know. We’re talking about the Port Phillip council, and they’ve always been a bit left and strange. (In my opinion, of course)

So thursday’s launch was not completely out of the blue.

Q Society Launch

As Vickie says, Q has hit the ground running, and already leaving a groundswell of opinion in their wake.

ACA link here.

Having met Vickie personally on a number of occasions, I can attest to the fact that she comes across as a horribly scary extremist thoroughly nice person.

She’s also been getting out there, with the Australian Islamist Monitor interviewing her recently.

For a spokesperson, that’s excellent to see.

On thursday evening, Martin King from A Current Affair was also there for a short time to interview a few people (not me, luckily!), and tape some of the talks.

Of course, he didn’t get the talk he should have.

Q Launch SOS Campaign 2011

There are a lot of things going on here in Australia in the arena of creeping sharia – finance, education, food, amenities, and the ongoing issues with illegal immigrants. Not that we’re supposed to call them that. Asylum seekers is the politically correct term.

The Q Society are focusing particularly on halal food in Australia and the current push for islam to be a part of the schools’ curricula. Under the guise of “cultural” studies.

For a small but growing group they aim high.

When you consider that several speakers pulled out at the last minute because they were frightened of speaking out in public, there is a need for some sort of action.

These speakers were from Afghanistan, Sudan and Ethiopia, so you’d think they would feel safe to speak in our (supposedly) free society.

Obviously not.

The keynote speaker was Pastor Daniel Scot, of the infamous Catch the Fires case here in Melbournistan.

A highly educated and entertaining man, it’s no wonder he was charged with quoting the quran in a manner that made people laugh. He has an exquisitely honed sense of irony, and he uses it well.

Another speaker was a Pastor who fled Pakistan in fear as a christian, and now has a ministry here in Melbourne, preaching over the phone and via skype to groups in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and even London!

It took him over two years of effort with the Immigration dept to bring his wife and children to Australia and out from the oppression of Pakistan they suffered as christians.

There are a lot more stories like these, but unfortunately they never seem to see the light of day.

With the Q Society getting the information on what’s happening out, then with luck we’ll see more.

As the saying goes, sunlight disinfects, and the Q Society are doing an excellent job of disinfecting some of the misconceptions about sharia.

Malaysia’s government offers olive branch to Christians amid dispute over seized Bibles

YAHOO NEWS

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Malaysia’s government has reversed its decision to stamp Malay-language Bibles with serial numbers and government seals, softening its stance after Christians slammed the move as desecrating their holy book.

A dispute over the distribution of Malay-language Bibles containing the word “Allah” as a translation for God has caused authorities to hold 35,000 Indonesian-made Bibles at two Malaysian ports since 2009. The government bans the use of “Allah” in non-Muslim texts, saying it could confuse Muslims or even be used to convert them.

Last week, the government agreed to release the Bibles on condition they are stamped with serial numbers and seals with warnings that the books are meant for Christians only. The Christian Federation of Malaysia, which represents most of the country’s churches, said that would amount to desecrating the Bibles.

Late Tuesday, the Prime Minister’s Department offered what it called a “fair and reasonable solution” to resolve the dispute.

The Bibles will be released with only the words “For Christianity” stamped on them, the department said in a statement. For books already stamped with serial numbers and seals, it said Christian donors have offered to replace them with new imported Bibles.

It reiterated that the serialization of the Bibles was standard practice and not meant to deface the books. The government will issue a directive to allow future imports of all Malay-language Bibles as long as the books contain the stamp “For Christianity,” the department said.

The Christian federation said it would issue a statement after church leaders meet next week to discuss the government’s offer.

While the government’s proposed release of the Bibles aims to ease religious friction, it also attempts to assure Muslims that their interests will not be undermined in an ongoing court case on whether non-Muslims have the constitutional right to use “Allah.”

The government is appealing a December 2009 court ruling that religious minorities — mostly Christians, Buddhists and Hindus — have the right to use “Allah.” The verdict caused a brief surge in tensions last year, when 11 churches were attacked amid anger among some Muslims.

Pakistani Christian Sentenced for ‘Blasphemy’ Dies in Prison

Murder suspected in case of Christian imprisoned for life.

LAHORE, Pakistan, March 15 (CDN) — A Christian serving a life sentence in Karachi Central Jail on accusations that he had sent text messages blaspheming the prophet of Islam died today amid suspicions that he was murdered.

Qamar David’s life had been threatened since he and a Muslim, Munawar Ahmad, were accused of sending derogatory text messages about Muhammad in June 2006, said David’s former lawyer, Pervaiz Chaudhry (See “Pakistan’s ‘Blasphemy’ Laws Claim Three More Christians,” March 10, 2010).

David was convicted under Section 295-C under Pakistan’s widely condemned blasphemy laws for derogatory remarks against Muhammad in a case registered at Karachi’s Azizabad Police Station, with another case registered at Saddar Police Station pending. Maximum punishment for Section 295-C is death, though life imprisonment is also possible. On Feb. 25, 2010 he received a sentence of life in prison, which in Pakistan is 25 years, and was fined 100,000 rupees (US$1,170).

Chaudhry, who said he was David’s counsel until Islamic threats against his life forced him to stop in July 2010, told Compass that the Christian had expressed fears for his life several times during the trial.

“David did not die of a heart attack as the jail officials are claiming,” Chaudhry said. “He was being threatened ever since the trial began, and he had also submitted a written application with the jail authorities for provision of security, but no step was taken in this regard.” Continue Reading →

Phyllis Chesler: Turning a blind eye to Islam’s brutal treatment of women

National Post, March 12, 2011 – 7:03 AM ET/Last Updated: March 12, 2011 5:10 AM ET

http://www.nationalpost.com/ Phyllis Chesler in New York City

My feminist generation believed in universal human rights — one standard for all. I still do. Therefore, I have taken a strong stand against the persecution of immigrant women and dissidents. I now submit affidavits on behalf of women who have fled the threat of such killings and who are seeking asylum in the United States.

Those of us who condemn the plight of such women, who are mainly Muslims and ex-Muslims, have been demonized in activist circles as “Islamophobes” and racists because we do not, in the same breath, blame America, the West or Israel for their suffering. Many Western academic feminists are so afraid of being condemned as “racists” that this fear trumps their concern for women’s rights in the Arab and Muslim world.

Islamic gender apartheid, which has penetrated the West, is characterized by normalized daughter- and wife-battering, forced veiling, female genital mutilation, polygamy, purdah (the segregation or sequestration of women), arranged marriage, child marriage and first-cousin marriage. Girls and women often are honour-murdered if they resist such practices, if they wish to divorce a dangerously abusive husband, or if they are viewed as too independent, too modern.

Today, at its most extreme, Islamic gender apartheid is characterized by acid attacks, public stonings, hangings, and beheading of women in Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia and Saudi Arabia — countries in which female rape victims are jailed, tortured and executed.

Feminists should be crying out from the rooftops against these practices. Some are. I am. Yet, many Muslims, as well as many intellectually “progressive” Western infidels, are not. They are welcoming the imposition of Islamic religious law, Sharia law, not only in the Middle East but also in the West. Continue Reading →

MCC urges governments to investigate infiltration of police forces by Islamists

(Still working on getting the original link for this: got it thanks to BCF)

TORONTO – The Muslim Canadian Congress (MCC) has expressed concern over the influence of Islamist organizations on Canada’s police and security services. In a statement, the MCC cautioned the federal, provincial and municipal governments, that their multiculturalism and diversity initiatives were being used by advocates of sharia law and Islamism to pursue their own hidden agenda.

The MCC was responding to recent news that a Muslim police officer from Toronto’s Intelligence refused to lay charges against a Muslim woman who had made an “open threat” against the founder of the MCC, Tarek Fatah.

Amna Bakhtiar, General Secretary of the MCC said, “it is quite possible that there were valid reasons not to lay charges against the woman. However, the optics of the Toronto police assigning Muslim officers to investigate threats made by radicals against liberal Muslims and then not charging them, leaves the impression that when it comes to the safety of liberal Muslims the TPS is more interested in multiculturalism rather than to serve and protect.”

Ms. Bahktiar said this is not the first incident of this sort and it is not the only police force in the country that has put multiculturalism ahead of security. She referred to incidents in Ottawa, where the RCMP were more willing to entertain Islamists and apologize for the force’s anti-terrorist operations than to unapologetically send a message that no violation of law will be tolerated, irrespective of one’s background.
