Below please find an article from earthtimes.org keeping in mind, these are the people who the government of Pakistan made a peace deal with, which was immediately breached by the Taliban, unsurprisingly. I hope never again to read the phrase ‘suicide bomber nursery’ again as long as I or anyone else lives.

suicide_bomber_training_5Tank, Pakistan – Haneef Mehsud was a normal teenager who spend most of his time hanging out with friends and playing cricket before he was recruited by the Taliban and turned into a suicide bomber. Less than a month after his 17th birthday, Haneef killed two soldiers when he rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into an army convoy in late 2008 on a road not far from his home in Pekai, a hamlet in the militancy-plagued South Waziristan region of northern Pakistan.

“We tried to stop him when he visited the family two weeks before the attack and informed us that he was soon going to embrace shahadat,” or martyrdom, Haneef’s father, Ghazi Mehsud, recalled. “I don’t know what they [the Taliban] did to my son,” Ghazi said as tears rolled down his cheeks and disappeared in his long grey beard. “His mother and sisters were crying, but he stood there like a stone. He only requested us to forgive him in the name of the love we had for him and left.”Ghazi moved to the neighbouring district of Tank in the North-West Frontier Province, which is also the gateway to South Waziristan, to save his second teenage son from the influence of his fellow tribesman and local warlord Baitullah Mehsud, who he blames for Haneef’s recruitment and death. But hundreds more children are still undergoing brainwashing at dozens of “suicide nurseries” run by the ethnic Pashtun militant commander. Mehsud, in his 30s, has emerged as the most dangerous militant commander in recent years. From the Internet to the media, slowly: Yesterday’s Harvard Crimson carried a story on the Harvard Islamic chaplain’s support for capital punishment for Muslims who leave Islam as revealed in an email the chaplain “allegedly” wrote. (We’re still at “allegedly”–although no one, including the chaplain, has disputed the authorship of the email.) I posted the story here on April 4. What caught my eye in this week’s Crimson story was the “clarification” flagged at the bottom of the following Crimson paragraph:

“I believe he doesn’t belong as the official chaplain,” said one Islamic student, who asked that he not be named to avoid conflicts with Muslim religious authorities. “If the Christian ministers said that people who converted from Christianity should be killed, don’t you think the University should do something?” [SEE CLARIFICATION BELOW]

Scrolling down, I found it:

CLARIFICATION: The April 14 article “Chaplain’s E-mail Sparks Controversy” included a quotation from a named Harvard student, who was later granted anonymity when he revealed that his words could bring him into serious conflict with Muslim religious authorities.

Got that? For opposing death for apostasy, for opposing the Islamic chaplain’s continued tenure based on said chaplain’s support for death for apostasy, a Harvard Muslim student felt compelled to call up the Crimson to seek post-publication anonymity to avoid coming into “serious conflict with Muslim religious authorities.”

This isn’t the Swat Valley. This isn’t Taliban-controlled Afghanistan–or, for that matter, Karzai-controlled Afghanistan. This isn’t Iran. This isnt Iraq. This is what sharia creep looks like  in America…in Harvard Yard.

KANDAHAR, AFGHANISTAN — In the hour before her killers pulled up beside the rickshaw and shot her at close range, Sitara Achakzai turned to a female politician riding beside her with a strange look.

“I’m not afraid of death,” said Ms. Achakzai, a well-known women’s rights advocate and one of three elected women sitting on Kandahar’s provincial council. “I can go and get killed and it’s no big deal.”

Ms. Achakzai’s friend, a provincial councillor who narrowly escaped death in a bombing at council headquarters less than two weeks ago, was so stunned by the comment, made just before the rickshaw pulled up to her stop, she got out without asking what prompted the revelation. Not long after, news came yesterday that she would never have another chance.

Ms. Achakzai, a dual Afghan and German citizen who returned to help rebuild her country in 2004, was shot at close range by gunmen on motorbikes before her rickshaw could finish the slow crawl back to her home. Continue Reading →

Saudi judge upholds man’s marriage to 8-year-old

CNN) — A Saudi mother is expected to appeal a judge’s ruling after he once again refused to let her 8-year-old daughter divorce a 47-year-old man, a relative said.

Sheikh Habib Al-Habib made the ruling Saturday in the Saudi city of Onaiza. Late last year, he rejected a petition to annul the marriage.

The case, which has drawn criticism from local and international rights groups, came to light in December when Al-Habib declined to annul the marriage on a legal technicality. His dismissal of the mother’s petition sparked outrage and made headlines around the world.

The judge said the mother, who is separated from the girl’s father, was not the legal guardian and therefore could not represent her daughter, the mother’s lawyer, Abdullah al-Jutaili, said at the time.

The girl’s husband pledged not to consummate the marriage until the girl reaches puberty, according to al-Jutaili, who added that the girl’s father arranged the marriage to settle his debts with the man, who is considered “a close friend.”

In March, an appeals court in the Saudi capital of Riyadh declined to certify the original ruling, in essence rejecting al-Habib’s verdict, and sent the case back to al-Habib for reconsideration.

Under the Saudi legal process, the appeals court ruling meant that the marriage was still in effect, but that a challenge to the marriage was still ongoing.

The relative, who said the girl’s mother will continue to pursue a divorce, told CNN the judge “stuck by his earlier verdict and insisted that the girl could petition the court for a divorce once she reached puberty.” Continue Reading →

ISTANBUL, April 10 (Compass Direct News) – Police have declared three Pakistani men innocent of raping a 13-year-old Christian girl despite eye witness accounts and medical evidence indicating their guilt. At a hearing in Nankana Sahib district court on April 3, police from the Pakistani town of Sangla Hill, 64 miles from Lahore, cleared 40-year-old Mohammed Shahbaz, 30-year-old Waqas Sadiq and 25-year-old Yousaf Sadiq of accusations of raping and threatening Ambreen Masih. Shahbaz was the only suspect to attend the hearing, which was initially called to discuss terms of his pre-arrest bail. But Judge Ijaz Hussan Awan said he couldn’t set terms for bail if police didn’t want to arrest or detain him. “In Pakistan it has always been like this – the wealthy person can approach the police and change the course of an investigation,” said prosecuting attorney Akbar Durrani. “Regarding Christians, they cannot put any pressure on the police for a fair investigation.”

This is of course, a rather banal story. By now, most know that terror war and violent jihad are central dogma in Islam. So a mosque is the most appropriate place to have a bomb factory. However I feel its still worth posting these stories now and again for those who insist on imagining to themselves that Islam is just a sort of Christianity with stronger spices and a darker Jesus.

(IsraelNN.com) Hamas terrorists in Kalkilya built a large supply of bombs and stored them in a local mosque without raising suspicion from local Palestinian Authority armed forces who represent the rival Fatah faction. However, the terrorists were out of luck on Wednesday, Passover eve, when a simple electric shortage gave away their plans.

The shortage caused a small fire in the mosque, bringing PA forces to the building, where they found bombs ready for use and large cannisters of bomb-making materials. The mosque was closed down, and PA sappers removed the explosives.

The abductors have demanded $2.5 million of ransom from the two journalists to release.

Amanda and the Australian photojournalist once escaped from a house in Suqa Holaha neighnourhood and entered a mosque near by, but they were recaptured again. militia who kidnapped the journalists claims they are al-shabab Terrorist Hawiye wing . Some reports suggest that one the abductors made Amanda as his wife…

Rioters in Strasbourg, France, set fire to a hotel and two other buildings April 4 during demonstrations against the NATO summit. The fire was apparently caused by Molotov cocktails protesters threw at the hotel, thinking it was housing police from out of town brought in specifically to boost security at the summit. Police had to use tear gas grenades to keep back a crowd of rioters trying to attack the firefighters responding to the scene. French law enforcement sources claimed that some of the protesters who were arrested were carrying loaded guns. Protesters from both France and Germany also put up barricades on both sides of the bridge that crosses the border across the river Rhine and hurled rocks at law enforcement personnel. Police estimate that there were 10,000 protesters on the French side of the border and 7,000 on the German.

Diplomats and human rights campaigners have condemned a peace deal between the Pakistan government and Taliban militants after harrowing video footage revealed a teenage woman begging for mercy during a public flogging.

The footage appears to show a 17-year-old girl being flogged by Islamic militants in Pakistan’s northwestern region of Swat.

The whipping took place after the peace deal was struck with militants in February following a protracted and unsuccessful military operation.

But a Taliban spokesman said that the punishment beating took place before the peace deal was signed when militants carried out executions and public beatings.

A local Taliban commander in the militant stronghold of Matta, outside of the regional capital, Mingora, ordered a girl called Chand to be flogged after she was accused of adultery.

“Please! Enough! Enough!” the girl is heard crying in Pashto, the language of the tribes who dominate northwestern Pakistan.

The two-minute video, shot using a mobile phone, shows a burka-clad woman face down on the ground. Two men, one of whom is her brother, hold her arms and feet while a third whips her 34 times.

Netanyahu to Obama: Stop Iran—Or I Will

In an Ininterview conducted shortly before he was sworn in today as prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu laid down a challenge for Barack Obama. The American president, he said, must stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons—and quickly—or an imperiled Israel may be forced to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities itself.

“The Obama presidency has two great missions: fixing the economy, and preventing Iran from gaining nuclear weapons,” Netanyahu told me. He said the Iranian nuclear challenge represents a “hinge of history” and added that “Western civilization” will have failed if Iran is allowed to develop nuclear weapons.

In unusually blunt language, Netanyahu said of the Iranian leadership, “You don’t want a messianic apocalyptic cult controlling atomic bombs. When the wide-eyed believer gets hold of the reins of power and the weapons of mass death, then the entire world should start worrying, and that is what is happening in Iran.”

History teaches Jews that threats against their collective existence should be taken seriously, and, if possible, preempted, he suggested. In recent years, the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has regularly called for Israel to be “wiped off the map,” and the supreme Iranian leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, this month called Israel a “cancerous tumor.”

But Netanyahu also said that Iran threatens many other countries apart from Israel, and so his mission over the next several months is to convince the world of the broad danger posed by Iran. One of his chief security advisers, Moshe Ya’alon, told me that a nuclear Iran could mean the end of American influence in the Middle East. “This is an existential threat for Israel, but it will be a blow for American interests, especially on the energy front. Who will dominate the oil in the region—Washington or Tehran?”

Opponents of the legislation governing the personal lives of Afghanistan’s Shia minority have said it is “worse than during the Taliban”.

Interview with Craig Winn, author of ‘Prophet of Doom’

Most readers of Vlad are quite sophisticated about Islam itself and it’s implications. I would wager more so than the majority of Muslims actually. Even so, this interview is quite good and may contain info you do not know. I am enjoying it immensely as I listen. Clear history of Islam and the various books such as Koran and hadith. I recommend listening to it. Here is the link to the show however I don’t know if this will fall down the blog roll over time or if this will always be at the top but if it isn’t the first thing you see, look for the interview with Craig Winn author of Prophet of Doom.

In this interview he deals well with most of the usual objections and platitudes which are so often raised when one tries to explain the issue of Islam with those who refuse to understand not all groups and ideologies are morally equal. Take the time and listen to this. Have a ham sandwich and a beer handy and enjoy.

As an afterthought, I am not 100% sure on this, but I believe that the reason that Ottawa’s CFRA AM radio was forced to drop Coast to Coast AM, the Art Bell show, was because Art had Craig Winn on as a guest interviewing him about his book Prophet of Doom. The CRTC Canada’s governing body of broadcast media gave him one warning and when he had Mr. Winn on for a second time Canada’s government forced it off the air much as they did to Dr. Laura Slesinger for her opinion on homosexuality. The sad thing about this kind of censorship beyond the obvious, no one should be shielded by government from people’s opinions, is that people do not know what they cannot access. They don’t know it exists nor do they know they are being shielded from it in Canada’s case.

I have yet to meet a single Canadian who actually knows that Dr. Laura is forbidden from the airwaves here or Art Bell. This is a great deal worse than China or the Soviet Union’s censorship as at least they where acutly aware of state control of what they may hear see or think.
