CHARIKAR, Afghanistan — Nearly 50 teenagers were admitted to hospital after a suspected mass poisoning at an Afghan girls’ school, a doctor said on Monday, in the second such incident in a month.

The headmaster rushed his students out of their classrooms in the northern town of Charikar after they smelt an unusual odour and started feeling nauseous and dizzy, a 17-year-old victim told Reuters from her hospital bed.

“I am pretty sure whoever has done this is against education for girls, but I strongly ask the parents not to be discouraged by such brutal action and send their children to school,” said Noor Jahan, a ninth grader at Ura Jalili Girls’ High School.

In another room a mother sat beside her unconscious daughter’s bed, crying and rubbing the girl’s forehead. Around her lay several dazed and pale schoolmates.

For the second time, a sharia defence is used in Canada for pre meditated murder

Not long ago, a Canadian defence lawyer used Islamic religious freedom as a defence in a terrorism trial arguing that a defendant was within his religious rights to council advise and commit terrorist acts. Now we have honor killing being used as an actual defence in a Canadian Murder trial in Ottawa. Both of these cases are of extreme importance as they may set precedents which allow Islamic values to be mitigating factors in serious crime and hence make sharia a de facto law of the land. This, as is the previous case, is serious.

The flashes were quick, far in the dark distance at the rainy shopping plaza parking lot where Khatera Sadiqi would soon be found barely breathing, slumped against her fiancé in a car.

There are four flashes on the video footage caught by a bank’s ATM camera, then a pause as a car’s headlights sweep a nearby area. Then another flash. All within 37 seconds.

The footage was played during the first day of the murder trial of Hasibullah Sadiqi, where assistant Crown attorney Mark Moors told a jury they are expected to hear that the now 23-year-old man killed his sister and her fiancé in an “honour killing” rooted in anger over their engagement.

Sadiqi’s defence lawyers have indicated they will not dispute that Sadiqi was responsible for the killings, but will argue that he is not guilty of murder because he was provoked.

During his opening statements, Moors told the court that Sadiqi shot his 20-year-old sister, Khatera, and her fiancé, Feroz Mangal, with a .44 Magnum revolver while they sat in a parked car at the Elmvale Acres shopping plaza, at St. Laurent Boulevard and Smyth Road, just before 1 a.m. on Sept. 19, 2006.

Sadiqi, a Canadian of Afghan descent, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder. The court is expected to hear he was upset because his sister got engaged without the permission of their father and had moved in with Mangal’s family, Moors told the five-woman, seven-man jury. From Pakistan to Sudan, many Muslim societies are suffused with poisonous, murderous racism

All told, one million Muslims were murdered by fellow Muslims in an orgy of hate that defied the teachings of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad, whose religious authority was being invoked by the Pakistan army.

One would have hoped that this genocide would have served as a cautionary tale. But the sad fact is that racism in the Islamic world has remained ubiquitous in the years that followed. Yet there is near universal denial about it, not just among the governments of Muslim nations, but also among many NGOs and civil society groups.

In Sudan, the Arab janjaweed militia and the Arab government in Khartoum have caused the murder of 500,000 Darfuri Muslims whose only fault is that they are black and thus considered inferior to the ruling classes of that country.

The mistreatment of black Muslims by those who feel they are superior because of their lighter skin colour has gone on throughout history. Only in the Middle East can one get away with addressing a black man as Ya Abdi, which translates as “Oh you slave.”

Only the Arab League would choose to embrace Sudan’s President, a man charged by the International Criminal Court for his murderous campaign in Darfur.

It is time that the medieval belief in the inferiority of non-Arab Muslims to Arab Muslims is laid to rest. Arab countries and leaders of Arab NGOs must denounce this doctrine, which has led to discrimination against darker-skinned Muslims by Arab governments in countries as far apart as Dubai and Darfur.

Radical, fundamentalist Islam is the world’s largest practioner of both gender and religious apartheid.

Others are speaking here today about Islamic religious apartheid. I have been asked to focus on Islamic gender apartheid.

We who live in the West, and who have learned how to analyze and protest gender inequality here, simply have no idea how much free-er and safer women are in the West than in Muslim countries.

I once lived in the Islamic world, in Afghanistan. What I learned in Kabul rendered me immune to the romanticization of the Third World or to the glamorization of tyrants and terrorists that defined my generation of 1960s and 1970s radicals.

Being born female and Muslim, especially today, under radical Islamic rule, is potentially a capital crime. The warnings and the punishment begin early on and are both relentless and normalized.

Women are viewed as sub-human, half-demon, dangerous, sexually “wild”—by men whose own lust and progeny knows no bounds. While there are many exceptions, in general, Muslim (and Arab) girls are despised and routinely cursed, beaten, treated as servants or slaves by their fathers and older brothers. Women are hidden, literally suffocated under face and body veils, shrouded, visually buried alive while still alive.

A 15-year-old boy who stabbed a student in a “ferocious” attack, leaving him paralysed from the neck down, has been detained for 10 years.

Nazrul Islam, of Upton Park, east London, repeatedly stabbed Oliver Hemsley, 20, from Ely, Cambridgeshire, in central London, on 28 August 2008.

The Old Bailey judge lifted restrictions on naming Islam because he “took pride” in his violent self-image.

He had earlier admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Islam robbed a girl of 12 while on bail for the attack on Mr Hemsley in Shoreditch.

Sentencing, Judge Roger Chapple said: “This was an entirely motiveless, mindless attack. Its ferocity makes my blood run cold.

“He [Islam] speaks with a degree of pride about his reputation with the boys, with the local community.”

Mr Hemsley, now 21, who had just been accepted to St Martin’s School of Art, was attacked as he was walking with a friend.

The victim was kicked and punched by a group of youths.

During this time Islam stabbed him from behind through the heart and lungs, which left him paralysed from the neck down after the knife cut his spinal column.

The court heard that when Islam was arrested hours after the attack he had the victim’s blood on his clothes and his DNA was found on the discarded kitchen knife.

But the youth was released on bail as officers waited for forensic tests on the items.

Days later, on 14 September, Islam threatened a girl with “what appeared to be a knife” to rob her of £5.

Following the sentence, the victim’s brother Will Hemsley, 26, said: “No sentence could ever be enough.

“In the last eight months we have been through more pain and suffering than any person should have to and unfortunately for Oli and those supporting him it is set to continue for the foreseeable future.

“At the end of this custodial sentence this animal will be free to go on and live his life.

“Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Oli, who has been given a life sentence for no real reason.”

Police have been unable to charge anyone else with the attack due to lack of evidence.

My inner dialogue defines genius as the ability to recognize the blindingly obvious for what it actually is. Mr. Kay consistently meets that criteria. What astonishes me, is the vast number of people who use poor logic to try and make horror something other than it is and feel clever about it. Like the slight of hand of moral relativism etc.

Having spent this morning catching up on my weekend reading, I came across this Page 4 article from Friday’s New York Times. Here’s the lead paragraph: “BAGHDAD — At least 80 people died and 120 others were injured Thursday in three bombings, one by a female suicide bomber in Baghdad who, Iraqi officials said, held a young child’s hand as she set off her explosives among a group of women and children receiving emergency food aid.”

Even putting aside our baseline revulsion at terrorism, there are three especially hideous things that jump out from this:

1) A mother deliberately taking her (presumed) child with her as she immolates herself. For all the hundreds of suicide bombings that Iraq has already witnessed, this has got to be a first.

2) This was a line for food aid. Islamists have gone from attacking U.S. soldiers, to attacking Iraqi soldiers, to attacking police stations, to attacking the religious ceremonies of rival sects — on down the line of nihilism until, now, they are reduced to blowing up hungry people seeking sustenance.

3) This hideous crime was played on page four of The New York Times. And a quick scan of other media suggests it got similar B-rate treatment elsewhere. This sort of act would have been worth a worldwide banner headline a decade ago. But now, it’s just another demented Islamist senselessly slaughtering fellow Muslims. With her kid. Yawn.

I have so very much to say about this video. But why bother? Today, a man was sentenced to death for selling land to a Jew in Palestinian-occupied Israeli territory (for selling Jewish land – Jewish holy land – to a Jew) and they call Israel an Apartheid state. It doesn’t or at least shouldn’t need to be mentioned that Muslim Arabs own land stores businesses and anything else they want anywhere in Israel they care to have them. Yet again, people overall seem obsessed with the minutia of the Israeli state and its treatment of non Jews.

Anyway, here is an example of the kind of TV propaganda that Muslims watch in Gaza. Anyone still on that side, please find me any comparable example of this sort of thing from Isreal. Hell from anywhere at all non Islamic.

Crime of blasphemous libel proposed for Defamation Bill: Ireland

A NEW crime of blasphemous libel is to be proposed by the Minister for Justice in an amendment to the Defamation Bill, which will be discussed by the Oireachtas committee on justice today.

At the moment there is no crime of blasphemy on the statute books, though it is prohibited by the Constitution.

Article 40 of the Constitution, guaranteeing freedom of speech, qualifies it by stating: “The State shall endeavour to ensure that organs of public opinion, such as the radio, the press, the cinema, while preserving their rightful liberty of expression, including criticism of Government policy, shall not be used to undermine public order or morality or the authority of the State.

“The publication or utterance of blasphemous, seditious, or indecent material is an offence which shall be punishable in accordance with law.”

Last year the Oireachtas Committee on the Constitution, under the chairmanship of Fianna Fáil TD Seán Ardagh, recommended amending this Article to remove all references to sedition and blasphemy, and redrafting the Article along the lines of article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which deals with freedom of expression.

The prohibition on blasphemy dates back to English law aimed at protecting the established church, the Church of England, from attack. It has been used relatively recently to prosecute satirical publications in the UK.

In the only Irish case taken under this article, Corway -v- Independent Newspapers, in 1999, the Supreme Court concluded that it was impossible to say “of what the offence of blasphemy consists”.

It also stated that a special protection for Christianity was incompatible with the religious equality provisions of Article 44.

Minister for Justice Dermot Ahern proposes to insert a new section into the Defamation Bill, stating: “A person who publishes or utters blasphemous matter shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable upon conviction on indictment to a fine not exceeding €100,000.”

“Blasphemous matter” is defined as matter “that is grossly abusive or insulting in relation to matters held sacred by any religion, thereby causing outrage among a substantial number of the adherents of that religion; and he or she intends, by the publication of the matter concerned, to cause such outrage.”

Where a person is convicted of an offence under this section, the court may issue a warrant authorising the Garda Síochána to enter, if necessary using reasonable force, a premises where the member of the force has reasonable grounds for believing there are copies of the blasphemous statements in order to seize them.

Labour spokesman on justice Pat Rabbitte is proposing an amendment to this section which would reduce the maximum fine to €1,000 and exclude from the definition of blasphemy any matter that had any literary, artistic, social or academic merit.

Another artist murdered in Peshawar thanks to the religion of peace

As music is strictly forbidden in Islam it isn’t surprising to see more artists murdered as Pakistan becomes more and more Islamic. If there is a twist to this story it’s that her own broethers murdered her for bieng a singer, whereas typically brothers murder their sisters in Islamic areas such as Pakistan Germany and England for dating a fellow of their own choosing.

PESHAWAR: Pashto female singer Shamim Aiman Udas was killed on Sunday, police said. Her husband Usman reported at Paharipura Police Station that the singer’s brothers Alamgir and Ismaeel were not happy with her having singing profession despite their disapproval. They (allegedly) opened fire on her near Koochi Plaza and killed her. Police registered a case against the two accused. staff report

UAE secret torture tape. This is from ABC news but still very harsh

Here is a video from ABC news about how a crown prince of the United Arab Emirates tortured a grain merchant for apparently failing to deliver the full quota. This is an important video at this time as the world contemplates and condemns the US for state sanctioned torture of some Islamic terrorists and Obama’s publishing certain top secret CIA files on the matter. It’s worth comparing the nature of the torture done, the reasons for which it is done and the degree of certainty of the guilt of the recipient.

Did you know that Muslims discovered America? Or that “ancient Jewish civilization contributed very little to the arts and sciences”?

According to a recent study by Institute for Jewish and Community Research, millions of American public school students in all 50 states use textbooks that contain such erroneous “facts.” Of the 500 historical errors uncovered by the study, hundreds of them tout a blatant agenda of Islamic superiority.

Even more shockingly, U.S. taxpayers are the ones footing the bill. It’s all part of a worrisome trend within the American educational system: the apparent spread of radical Muslim propaganda under the guise of “education.”

Pamela Geller has reported on the story for years. She says that the influence of radical Islam spreads beyond K-12 into colleges and universities. 

“No one knows how extensive Saudi funding of U.S. schools is,” Geller told RightSideNews, “but since Saudis control 80% of US mosques financially, it’s very likely that they control the same percentage of schools.”

She cites “$20 million dollar gifts from Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, to top U.S. universities like Harvard and Georgetown,” adding that the impact of such gifts flows all the way “down to the kindergarten level.”

Under Title VI of the 1965 Higher Education Act, Harvard and seventeen other universities only qualify for special funding provided they conduct “outreach” to K-12 teachers, helping them shape lesson plans. And naturally, those lesson plans include laudatory information about Islam and the Middle East…

In one notorious instance, outraged parents protested in 2002 when they discovered that their children were learning about Islam in a California public school by praying “in the name of Allah.” Continue Reading →

Muslims in Malmo go green!

Environmentally friendly Muslims in Malmo Sweden show real concern in this video for safety and recycling as they replace street lamps with burning tires in the middle of the road. This adds light as well as creates a clever and never before thought of use for discarded car tires. I see a Nobel prize in their future.

In the video below, you can hear one of the environmentalists shout “Allahu Ackbar” and “Jihad” which of course is Arabic for ‘No more fossil fuels’ and ‘burn tires not gas!’
