More on Indonesia

Thanks to KitmanTV who provided much evidence on how in fact, Indonesia has not been ‘moderate’ as Islamic countries go for sixty years or more, if it ever was. Kitman provided these excellent documentaries about Indonesia and horrors there inspired by Islam.
I wonder, could Chomski have actually gotten one right? A broken clock I guess…

And here, a 20 minute Journeyman film on Ambon’s religious bloodbath. This is hard watching but it does straighten out any misconceptions that Indonesia is in any way a ‘moderate’ Muslim nation.

And of course, a re post of the three minute film on Indonesia’s sharia law police which started this all, and how they are about to start stoning women to death for crimes of perceived sexual transgressions contrary to Islam

Kenya: Raid Conducted On Somali Suburb After Riots

January 17, 2010
Kenyan security forces raided a heavily Somali suburb of Nairobi Jan. 17, two days after the violent protests in the capital that followed the arrest of a Jamaican Muslim cleric, Reuters reported. Ahmed Nur Ugas, a Somali member of parliament, said police were arresting people they believed to be Somali whether they had legal identification or not, and that police did room-to-room searches of the Barakat Hotel, asking each occupant about their nationality.

Senior member of extreme Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir teaches at LSE

TIMESONLINE… A senior figure in Hizb ut-Tahrir, a hardline Islamist group that the Government keeps “under continuous review” and the Conservatives want to ban, is teaching and preaching at a top university.

The Times has learnt that Reza Pankhurst, who was imprisoned in Egypt for membership of the group, is a teacher at the London School of Economics and regularly preaches to students at Friday prayers.

The group is supposedly barred from organising and speaking on campuses under the National Union of Students’ policy of “no platform” for racist or fascist views. The presence of one of its prominent members as a university teacher raises new concerns about Islamist radicalisation on campus.

A new review of campus extremism began last month after it was discovered that the alleged Detroit airline bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, was a former president of the Islamic Society at University College London.

The Times understands that at least two London university lecturers are either supporters or members of Hizb ut-Tahrir.

Mr Pankhurst is a postgraduate student in the LSE’s government department and teaches classes for the course “States, Nations and Empires”.

On Fridays he is one of the regular speakers at prayers organised by the students’ union Islamic Society in the college gym.

A society member told The Times: “He preaches every other week and is constantly bringing the subject around to politics, talking about Afghanistan and the need to establish the Caliphate [Islamic state].

“Only last week he was talking about the Detroit bomber and saying the guy was not radicalised in London and it was all to do with foreign policy.

“Last year he recommended we should attend a conference which I later discovered was organised by Hizb ut-Tahrir, but he never mentions the party by name.” Continue Reading →

US military urged to act over extremists in its ranks

BBCNEWS.. Two leading US senators have urged the Pentagon to take steps to combat the threat of Islamist extremism within the ranks of the US military.

The senators called for educating military personnel about the “warning signs of extremism”.

The recommendation came in the wake of the Fort Hood shootings in Texas during which an Army major killed 13 people.

Maj Nidal Hasan, a psychiatrist at the base, has been charged with murder and attempted murder.

The 39-year-old American-born Muslim will be tried in a military court but it has not yet been confirmed whether military authorities are seeking the death penalty in this case.

The Pentagon is due to release its own internal review of the incident.

Increasing trust

Senator Joe Lieberman and Senator Susan Collins wrote to US Defence Secretary Robert Gates at the end of their investigation into the 5 November incident at Fort Hood.

The US military should train soldiers “from enlisted personnel to commanders” to recognise and report “the warning signs of violent Islamist extremism”, they said.

“Efforts by DoD [US defence department] to educate its personnel concerning what violent Islamist extremism is and what the warning signs of such extremism are – as distinguished from the practice of the Islamic faith – will increase trust between the thousands of Muslim-Americans serving honourably and their colleagues,” they wrote.

They said current procedures for dealing with such cases were not satisfactory but did not specify what the warning signs would be.

ANJEM CHOUDARY GETS 24 HOUR POLICE GUARD

ABOVE: Anjem Choudary gloated over benefits pot
14th January 2010

By Gary Nicks

BANNED Muslim extremist Anjem Choudary is getting 24-hour police protection – and you are paying for it.

His threat to march in Wootton Bassett whipped up so much fury senior officers have stepped in to defend him from hate mobs.

On Sunday, 200 English Defence League supporters descended on the Wiltshire town which honours Britain’s war dead after rumours of a demo by his Islam4UK organisation.

The radical group was banned by the Home Secretary on Tuesday. And police chiefs are diverting men from essential duties to guarantee Choudary’s safety after far-right nuts made death threats against him. Gloating Choudary, 42, even cranked up the hatred against him by claiming the £25,000 benefits he gets every year, and the £325,000 house he lives in, were provided by “Allah” and not the British taxpayer.

The bill to guard Choudary could cost as much as £100,000 a year. But the trained lawyer said he was proud to milk the system, adding: “I am not doing anything illegal.

“If we were living under the shariah there would be free food, clothing and shelter for all. The money belongs to Allah and if it is given you can take it.

“You don’t lie and you don’t cheat – that is what the prophet said.”

But Matthew Sinclair, of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: “Taxpayers are going to be shocked to hear the police are having to waste time they should be spending fighting terrorism looking after Anjem Choudary.”

And Tory MP Patrick Mercer, chairman of the Commons sub- committee on counter-terrorism, slammed Choudary as a publicity-seeker.

He said: “He’s drawing constant attention to himself and diverting resources from their proper use.”

A police source warned: “Choudary has deliberately made himself a target among far-right groups and his plans to protest at Wootton Bassett stirred up even more anger.

“Senior officers are frightened of having a race war on their hands. If something were to happen to him, we would be blamed.”

‘Toronto 18’ terror suspect pleads not guilty

CBCNEWS… A 34-year-old man accused of being one of the conspirators in the “Toronto 18” terrorist bomb plot pleaded not guilty Monday as his trial began.

Shareef Abdelhaleem, a computer engineer, is charged with participating in a terrorist group and intending to cause an explosion. He is being tried by a judge, without a jury in a Brampton, Ont., courtroom.

Abdelhaleem and 17 others were arrested in 2006 and accused of plotting to detonate bombs at several targets in Ontario, including the CN Tower, the Toronto Stock Exchange and the office of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, or CSIS.

Of those 18 people, five had their charges dropped or stayed, four pleaded guilty, one was found guilty and five are still awaiting trial.

The Crown alleged Abdelhaleem tried to buy ingredients to make explosives and exchanged cash with police informant Shaher Elsohemy as a down payment for ammonium nitrate, a fertilizer that can be used to make explosives. Continue Reading →

Five guilty for Islamist protests in Luton

Under a banner held up by a supporter saying “Islam will dominate the world. Freedom can go to hell”, Choudhury said that the trial showed the failure of freedom of speech and democracy.

TIMESONLINE… Five Muslim men who accused British soldiers of being rapists, murderers and baby killers during a homecoming parade were found guilty today of making threats.

The five, all from Luton, were convicted of using threatening, abusive or insulting words and behaviour likely to cause harassment and distress during a march by the Royal Anglian Regiment through Luton town centre in March last year.

Jalal Ahmed, 21, Yousaf Bashir, 29, Ziaur Rahman, 32, Shajjadar Choudhury, 31, Munim Abdul, 28, were found guilty at Luton Magistrates’ Court. Ibrahim Anderson, 32, and Jubair Ahmed, 19, also from Luton, were found not guilty. All had denied the charges.

The five men found guilty were given two-year conditional discharges and ordered to pay contributions towards costs of £500 each.

District judge Carolyn Mellanby said: “I have no doubt it is abusive and insulting to tell soldiers to ‘Go to hell’, to call soldiers murderers, rapists and baby killers. It is not just insulting to the soldiers but to the citizens of Luton who were out on the streets that day to honour and welcome soldiers home.”

Ms Mellanby added: “The fact that they say they did not intend their remarks to be insulting does not amount to defence in law. They were fully aware that shocking phrases in such circumstances would inevitably cause distress.”

She rejected arguments that they were merely exercising their right to freedom of speech as enshrined in the Human Rights Act, saying that their behaviour “went beyond reasonable, legitimate protest”.

Avirup Chaudhuri, for the prosecution, said that as the local regiment, who had served in Iraq and Afghanistan, passed, the group of protesters jeered “British Army murderers”, “British soldiers burn in hell” and “Baby killers”. They also denounced the troops as terrorists.

Lawyers defending the men said that their clients discussed their plans to protest with police beforehand, had agreed to a time and a place to do so and officers had not objected at the time. This implied consent by the police and to prosecute them retrospectively was not right, the lawyers said.

Outside court the defendants responded defiantly to the verdict.

Under a banner held up by a supporter saying “Islam will dominate the world. Freedom can go to hell”, Choudhury said that the trial showed the failure of freedom of speech and democracy.

Hate rants by Alleged al-Qaeda boss Anwar al-Awlaki on sale in London

MIRROR… Rantings by the terror chief accused of coaching the Christmas Day syringe bomber are on sale in London.

Alleged al-Qaeda boss Anwar al-Awlaki was hailed a hero by fanatic Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, who tried to explode a bomb concealed in his underpants on Northwest Airlines flight 253 from Amsterdam to Detroit.

Yesterday our investigators found a wide selection of al-Awlaki’s hate-filled tirades on sale in an Islamic bookshop yards from the East London Mosque which was regularly attended by Abdulmutallab.

We found DVDs of his chilling speeches prominently displayed next to the counter at Al-Furqan books on Whitechapel Road.

They included Constants on The Path To Jihad – described as “a virtual bible” for terrorists.

Muslims in Luton call British soldiers baby killers, rapists, shout ‘burn in hell’

Let’s be perfectly clear. Radical Islam does indeed want troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan for one reason and one reason only- so they can continue to brutally force 7th century sharia on the population through terrorism, barbaric tactics, thuggery and intimidation without interruption, international scrutiny, global condemnation and NATO interference. Their aim is no different in the west, as they have made repeatedly clear and will continue to do so. While these ‘marches’ and ‘protests’ are insincerely billed as ‘reactions to the occupying forces’, they are in fact simultaneous  pro-sharia, anti-west happy parades, designed to notify the British public that their aim is to one day transform the U.K. to an Islamic state, similar to the shit-holes they now occupy and administer on behalf of Muhammed in much of the Middle East.

These idiots refused to stand today in a Luton court because as Muslims and adherents to sharia they are not permitted to rise in respect of secular law. Sharia does not respect human beings. Nor does it respect the western ideals of democracy and freedom; it considers only God. These idiots terribly pained at the sight of a woman justice overseeing their trial, no doubt furthered their resolve to fight the good, soft jihad at a system that would consider a woman responsible for meting out justice. These idiots can also be rest assured at the sight of support by their fellow sharia lovers, many of whom are no doubt burqa clad young women who never donned the cloth until it became a fashionable visual agitation, a tool used to promote sharia whilst in solidarity with their Islamist brothers.

One sign held up by a Muslim extremist at the Luton homecoming read, ” Anglican Soldiers: Butchers of Basra”. Let’s again be clear of the butchery in Basra. As of November 2008, it was reported by the Women’s News Network that as much as $100 U.S. was paid to each Muslim hit-man, per victim of honour killings. Authorities of the southern city in Iraq claimed they were ‘powerless’ to prevent such Islamic killings following a staggering 70% increase. The butchery in Basra comes not from NATO troops, but from Muslim men against Muslim women. Conviction rates for these murders are very low and the police continue to protect perpetrators. (I bought my dog for more than a woman’s life is worth to such a Muslim man in Basra). The lies and hypocrisy go hand in hand with fantastical sharia, a totalitarian and oppressive legal system these idiots pray to God for.

Muslim protesters ‘branded British soldiers as rapists and baby killers’ at homecoming parade

By Lucy Ballinger
Last updated at 4:43 PM on 04th January 2010

A group of Muslim protesters shouted ‘murderers’, ‘rapists’, ‘baby killers’ and chanted ‘burn in hell’ at soldiers on a homecoming parade from Iraq, a court heard today.

Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment were greeted by protesters screaming the hostile jeers and holding placards as they marched through Luton last year.

There was a furious reaction from the hundreds lining the streets to give the 200 soldiers – known as the Poachers – a heroes’ welcome. Among the supporters upset by the protest were children and families.

The chants included: ‘British army murderers’, ‘British soldiers burn in hell’, ‘British soldiers you will pay’, ‘baby killers and murders all of you’ and ‘baby killers shame on you’.

Protesters: (from left to right) Jabair Ahmed, Shajjadar Choudhury, Ziaur Rahman, Jalal Ahmed, Munim Abdul and Yousaf Bashir arrive at Luton Magistrates’ Court today.

The regiment had just returned from a second tour of duty in Iraq, and had previously fought in Afghanistan – losing 12 of their comrades during the wars.

Today seven Muslim men appeared at Luton Magistrates Court charged with using threatening, abusive, insulting words and behaviour which was likely to cause harassment, alarm and distress to others.

Munin Abdul, 28, Jalal Ahmed, 21, Jabair Ahmed, 19, Yousaf Bashir, 29, Shajjadar Choudhury, 31, Ziaur Rahman, 32, and white Muslim Ibrahim Anderson, 32, all from Luton, have pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The seven men refused to stand when district judge Carolyn Mellanby walked in, as is the custom in court. Their lawyers explained that this was because as Muslims they could not make a show of respect to any human being, only to God. Continue Reading →

Sydney Australia, fighting another giant mosque.

From Islam Monitor:

Aubur

As if this huge masjit would not be enough for Auburn

Auburn Council, in Sydney’s west, approved yet another giant mosque (there is already one monstrosity called Gallipoli Mosque in Auburn)   to be built  on a site occupied by a historical  Art Deco fire station on  Harrow Road.

And so it comes as no surprise that the non-Muslim residents are trying to stop the construction  as they  they believe it will become a headquarters for the strict Wahhabi sect of Islam in Sydney. (reference)

Additionally the Muslim buyers of the property do not care that the Fire Station, listed as a Australian heritage building, will be destroyed in the process.

The purpose of the Omar Mosque leadership in acquiring the property was to demolish the Old Auburn Fire Station building, consolidate the site with their three other adjacent properties and build over the new site a grand mosque, capable of accommodating a thousand worshippers at a time.

The new mosque is proposed to have 134 car parking spaces underground in a location that is zoned residential. The DA applicants knew at the time they bought the property that it was subject to heritage protection under the Auburn LEP. They are the same people who a few years earlier built the Al Faisal Islamic School, which is only one hundred metres further down the road from the site. But despite this knowledge of the laws in NSW and their ready access to legal and town planning expertise, which might have motivated them to seek another site, they chose instead to pursue a campaign to have its heritage protection removed by Auburn City Council.

Historical Fire Station at 47 Harrow Road, Auburn

The leaders of the Omar Mosque also probably knew at the time they bought the old fire station site that the Victorian Italianate terrace style cottage next to their existing mosque, formerly used since 1909 as Pegler’s Bakery at 43 Harrow Road, is also of high heritage significance, although not yet on the heritage schedule. Both properties will be demolished to make way for the proposed grand mosque, the main structure of which will stand on the highest hill in Auburn over three stories tall, topped at each of its four corners with a small minaret and a large central dome bearing an Islamic crescent moon. At the apex of the crescent moon, as is now proposed by the applicant, the structure will be close to the height of a five storey building. (source)

Dear Readers, we can stop the destruction of our heritage building and at the same time we can prevent building yet another symbol of Islamic arrogance and disregard for our culture and history.

Al-Awlaki has been accused by US counter terrorism officials and the Yemeni government of being one of the driving forces behind Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab’s conversion to an extreme form of Islam.

Today we can reveal al-Awlaki has spoken on at least seven occasions at five different venues around Britain via video-link in the last three years alone, despite being banned from entering this country in 2006.

On at least two occasions the American-born cleric addressed audiences at a Muslim centre which was receiving taxpayers money under Government’s programme to prevent violent extremism.

Al-Awlaki is one of a series of radical preachers who have spoken at venues benefiting from money intended to counter Islamist radicalisation. Continue Reading →

Detroit terror attack: A murderous ideology tolerated for too long

(Paraphrasing) ‘See at last, see at last, thank god almighty, they see at last.’

Telegraph View: Jihadist Islamism is comparable to Nazism in many respects. The British public realises this; so do the intelligence services.

Published: 6:33AM GMT 29 Dec 2009

Friday’s attempt to blow up a transatlantic airliner by a British-educated Islamist was foiled by the bravery of its passengers and crew. We cannot assume that we will be lucky next time. And the indications are that there will be a next time. According to police sources, 25 British-born Muslims are currently in Yemen being trained in the art of bombing planes. But most of these terrorists did not acquire their crazed beliefs in the Islamic world: they were indoctrinated in Britain. Indeed, thousands of young British Muslims support the use of violence to further the Islamist cause – and this despite millions of pounds poured by the Government into projects designed to prevent Islamic extremism.

Is it time for a fundamental rethink of Britain’s attitude towards domestic Islamism? Consider this analogy. Suppose that, in several London universities, Right?wing student societies were allowed to invite neo-Nazi speakers to address teenagers. Meanwhile, churches in poor white neighbourhoods handed over their pulpits to Jew-hating admirers of Adolf Hitler, called for the execution of homosexuals, preached the intellectual inferiority of women, and blessed the murder of civilians. What would the Government do? It would bring the full might of the criminal law against activists indoctrinating young Britons with an inhuman Nazi ideology – and the authorities that let them. Any public servants complicit in this evil would be hounded from their jobs.

Jihadist Islamism is also a murderous ideology, comparable to Nazism in many respects. The British public realises this; so do the intelligence services. Yet because it arises out of a worldwide religion – most of whose followers are peaceful – politicians and the public sector shrink from treating its ideologues as criminal supporters of violence. Instead, the Government throws vast sums of money at the Muslim community in order to ensure that what is effectively a civil war between extremists and moderates is won by the latter. This policy – supported by all the main political parties – does not seem to be working. The authorities, lacking specialist knowledge, sometimes turn for advice to “moderate” Muslims who have extreme sympathies; supporters of al-Qaeda are paid to disseminate their ideology to young people.

Radical Islamist leaders are not stupid: they know how to play this system. The indoctrination of students carries on under the noses of public servants who are terrified of being labelled Islamophobic or racist. Therefore they fail to do their duty, which is to protect Muslims and non-Muslims alike from a terrorist ideology. If providing that protection requires fewer “consultations” with “community leaders” and more arrests, then so be it.

Britain: the biggest hub of Islamic radicalization outside the Muslim world.

From The Daily Mail U.K.

To our eternal shame, Britain is STILL a hub for Islamic terror

By Melanie Phillips
Last updated at 11:30 AM on 28th December 2009

So here we go again. Another international Islamic terrorist plot – and yet another British connection.

The attempt by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab to blow up an American plane was averted only by luck and courage.

The incident obviously raises alarming questions about gross lapses in security. In particular, how did Abdulmutallab obtain a U.S. visa when he had been on an American watch-list of people with known terrorist connections?

But the deeper and more urgent issue for Britain concerns the key role this country has once again played in a Muslim’s trajectory to radicalisation and terror. Abdulmutallab, who claims to have been working for Al Qaeda, was an engineering student at prestigious University College London for three years until 2008.

He was actually refused an entry visa to Britain earlier this year, but only because the institution at which he said he wanted to study turned out to be non-existent.

How, people might well ask, could such a radical have been educated in Britain without the authorities jumping on him?

Did MI5 know anything about him – especially since he was on a U.S. terrorism watch-list for two years?

As yet, we still don’t know much about this man’s history.

It appears he became a religiously extreme Muslim at a school in Togo, but was further radicalised while studying in London before apparently going to Yemen and linking to Al Qaeda.

Who can be surprised? After all, this is ‘ Londonistan’ – the contemptuous term coined by the French security service back in the Nineties as they watched Britain become the central hub of Islamic terrorism in Europe. Continue Reading →

Violent jihadist nets 17 years for supporting terror groups

U.S. man linked to ‘Toronto 18’ gets 17 years for conspiracy to support terror

Agence France-Presse Published: Monday, December 14, 2009

Ehsanul Islam Sadequee, who has been linked to the 'Toronto 18,' has been sentenced in Atlanta to 17 years in prison for supporting terror groups. AFP/AFP/Getty Images Ehsanul Islam Sadequee, who has been linked to the ‘Toronto 18,’ has been sentenced in Atlanta to 17 years in prison for supporting terror groups.
ATLANTA, Georgia — A Pakistan-born US citizen was sentenced Monday to 17 years in prison for supporting terror groups by sending videos of US landmarks abroad and plotting “violent jihad” in Europe.

Ehsanul Islam Sadequee, 23, refused to stand when judge William Duffey, a former US attorney, asked him several times to stand for sentencing.

During the trial, prosecutors said Sadequee and his co-conspirators developed relationships over the Internet and maintained contact online, along with other “supporters of violent jihad” in the United States, Canada, Britain, Pakistan, Bosnia and beyond.

The young man, prosecutors said, traveled to Canada to meet other militants, including members of the “Toronto 18” Al-Qaeda-inspired group, and to Bangladesh, where he sent an email in 2001 when he was only 15 seeking to join the Taliban to fight US and coalition forces in Afghanistan.

Judge Duffey had allowed to Sadequee 44 minutes in court to explain to the court why a harsh sentence should not be imposed.

But Sadequee instead used the time to explain his religious beliefs, saying that he would not be judged by one man.

“I’ll say this, our Gods are very different,” Judge Duffey said to Sadequee. “This is a day of reckoning for you, Mr Sadequee. This is to deter you and to deter others from this conduct.”

Sadequee was found guilty of sending videos he had made of Washington landmarks to a recruiter for Al-Qaeda. Prosecutors also told the jury that he tried to get into a terrorist training camp and that Sadequee also tried to recruit a 17-year-old from Culver City, California, for martyrdom.

The crowded courtroom was filled with media and supporters of Sadequee.

After the prosecution asked for a 20-year sentence, Sadequee spoke for 21 minutes about his religious beliefs before Duffey interrupted him and reminded him that this was a sentencing hearing and he was expected to talk about why the maximum should not be imposed.

“I have not and I will not request any sentence,” Sadequee said. “It does not matter to me. I submit to no one’s authority but to the authority of God.”

As to the impact of his speech on his sentencing, Sadequee said, “If it makes it less, it makes it less. If it makes it worse, it makes it worse.”

Sadequee told Duffey he needed “less than two hours” to finish his prepared comments, but Duffey said he would grant Sadequee another 20 minutes and allowed him to speak for another 28 minutes.

Don Samuel, an Atlanta-based criminal defense attorney, said he would discuss with Sadequee the possibility of an appeal. One reason Duffey allowed Sadequee almost and an hour to speak to the court was to try and avoid reversal of the sentence on the grounds Sadequee did not get a fair hearing.

“This is not about your faith, this is about your conduct,” Duffey told Sadequee before imposing the sentence. Duffey said Sadequee engaged in “vigilante justice” and the judge said he was not swayed by what he called “generic letters” from Sadequee supporters asking for leniency.

Sadequee’s convicted co-conspirator Syed Haris Ahmed was to be sentenced later Monday.
