Everybody Draw Mohamed day!

Now this is a splendid idea. May 20th everyone draw a Mohamed toon and display it prominently. If you have no artistic talents, may I suggest you take your favorite image of Mohamed down to your local shopping mall and find that guy who makes T shirts and get him to make you one with whatever image you download off the net? May I suggest this one for example?

Usually they charge about twenty dollars, and lets be honest Twenty bucks and an hour of your time to maintain freedom of speech, this is not much to ask to preserve civilization. And no, this is not an exaggeration. Civilizations have fallen to superstition, barbarism and primitivism before. Let us at least draw a picture or make a T shirt to help stop it from being lost now.

Here is a site with some images of Mohamed if anyone wants to use these. Ironically, the more disgusting ones are in some cases, the more historically accurate. H/T Proud Kaffir for this one.

After Comedy Central cut a portion of a South Park episode following a death threat from a radical Muslim group, Seattle cartoonist Molly Norris wanted to counter the fear. She has declared May 20th “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day.”

Norris told KIRO Radio’s Dave Ross that cartoonists are meant to challenge the lines of political correctness. “That’s a cartoonist’s job, to be non-PC.”

Producers of South Park said Thursday that Comedy Central removed a speech about intimidation and fear from their show after a radical Muslim group warned that they could be killed for insulting the Prophet Muhammad. Continue Reading →

An Open Regime to the Exterior

by Baron Bodissey

Our Portuguese correspondent Afonso Henriques has sent his translation of a news broadcast concerning a recent relaxation of Portugal’s penal practices. The new privileges given to inmates apply even to hardened and violent offenders.

A full transcript of the above video is at the bottom of this post.

Afonso adds these comments:

This is how fun politics are in Portugal! The Socialists of course are in power, and the old-style Communists with the new wave of Anarchists together got almost one fifth of the vote.

I found it funny that Takuan Seiyo recently mentioned Portugal in the Brussels Journal, saying, “All you had to know about the future of Portugal’s economy you could have predicted when its Maoist-Trotskyist Block [the left-wing anarchists, with a very bourgeois spirit let me add — AH] won 10% of the vote in 2009.” I think that all one needs to know about Portugal is that those who engendered the law described in the news report were in the oh-so-respectable Socialist Party, who had almost 40% of the votes. Court clears Holocaust cartoon publication

The following story exemplifies pretty much everything that has gone wrong in the west in the last 50 years. First of all, how can a charge even exist that is about feeling insulted? And if such a charge exists then why bother with a judge or court at all. Ask the person who claims to be offended if they are insulted, and when they answer in the affirmative then book em Danno and throw away the key.

Secondly, Geert Wilders would appear to be up on a similar charge in the Netherlands. It will be quite telling if he is found guilty of offending Muslims for telling the truth about Islam, (something even the prosecution does not deny, but mitigates with ‘The truth is not at issue, it is whether or not what Wilders said was Legal”) while the Arab League is found not guilty of insulting Jews for telling lies about a part of history that is sensitive to say the least, to Jewish people.

From Dutch News:

Thursday 22 April 2010

Judges in Utrecht have found the Dutch arm of the European Arab League not guilty of insulting Jews for publishing a cartoon which suggested they invented the Holocaust.

The league first published the cartoon on its website in response to the Danish cartoons poking fun at Mohammed four years ago and then again last year. The organisation said the aim was not to insult anyone but to highlight double standards in society.

The court said that while the cartoon is tasteless and upsetting, the right to freedom of expression is more important, Nos tv reported.

‘The court considers the cartoon insulting, if considered by itself,’ the court said. However ‘the context in which it is placed removes the criminally insulting nature.’

The public prosecution department had called for a €1,000 fine.

Canada: Muslim woman fears acid attack reprisal

From The Toronto Sun

Muslim woman fears reprisal

Claims death threats for working in men’s hair salon

By TOM GODFREY, Toronto Sun

Last Updated: April 22, 2010 5:21pm

A Muslim woman fighting to stay in Canada fears being disfigured with acid for allegedly “bringing shame” to her ex-husband’s family in Pakistan by leaving him and travelling here to work in a hair salon frequented by men.

Roohi Tabassum, 45, of Brampton, said corrosive acid is thrown in the faces of women in Pakistan and other Islamic countries to disfigure them because they have allegedly “shamed” their families.

Tabassum said there have been two incidents the past month in Pakistan where women’s faces were burned with acid by assailants who fled.

“I don’t leave the house or go anywhere because I am scared,” she said. “Sometimes the women are also disabled, burned or tortured.”

Tabassum claims family members in Pakistan are still receiving threats from ex-husband, Faisal Javed, who has threatened to kill her.

“He (ex-husband) is determined to have me killed or crippled,” she said. “I am very concerned for myself.”

Tabassum entered Canada from the U.S. in 2001 and filed a failed refugee claim. She faces deportation to the U.S., and then to Pakistan, which is under appeal before an Immigration and Refugee Board.

She claimed Javed is angered because she works in a salon that styles men’s hair and suspects she has a boyfriend, which she denies.

Her lawyer Max Berger said 1,200 to 1,500 women were killed in 2007 from honour killings in Pakistan, according to U.S. Department of State statistics.

“This is a very legitimate concern that she has,” Berger said. “These type of honour killings or attacks are not uncommon in Pakistan.”

He successfully obtained refugee status for a Pakistani woman 10 years ago who had “half her face burned in an acid attack” due from bringing shame to a family.

Tarek Fatah, of the Muslim Canadian Congress, said acid attacks against women do occur and can be for a disgracing a family.

“Women are at the bottom of the rung of the ladder in this culture,” Fatah said. “We just cannot dismiss her claim outright.”

Police and immigration officials are not aware of an acid attack against a woman in Canada.

Sikhs must ditch turban to join firearms, riot teams.

From The Telegraph U.K.

Sikh police banned from joining firearms teams wearing turbans

Sikh police officers will be banned from allowed to join firearms or riot teams unless they remove their turbans, under new police guidance.

The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) announced Sikh officers serving in the units would have to ditch the traditional head covering in favour of a patka – a smaller piece of material – in order to wear bulletproof helmets.

The turbans were deemed ”unsafe” because they cannot fit under the protective headgear and do not themselves offer sufficient protection.

ACPO rejected the notion of designing a special bullet proof turban made from ballistic material, but said such equipment was worthy of ”future exploration”.

The guidance was issued after the British Sikh Police Association (BSPA) requested clarification on whether their officers could join firearms and public order units. Continue Reading →

Allen West video about to break 500,000 views.

This is a good news, bad news, post. Vimeo, has taken down all my videos, hopefully temporarily which have all the translated and subtitled versions of Allen West’s brilliant and inspired speech at Pam Geller and Robert Spencer’s sponsored event February 19th 2010.

However for one reason or another, the abridged version which I cut down to 10 minutes to stuff on to my youtube channel seems to have gone viral. So I repost it as a kind of celebration, not just because so many are watching it, but if you read the comments, you see a genuine mix of admiration and relief mostly from Americans who know that at last there may be someone they can support who has rational values.

It is the military intelligence’s assessment that North Korea attacked with a heavy torpedo.

Back on the Bus

by Baron Bodissey

Remember CAIR’s successful effort last week to force the removal of “Islamophobic” ads from Miami municipal buses? Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller, working through the Freedom Defense Initiative, placed the ads on the buses to inform Muslims (and any other Americans) that they have the right of religious freedom in this country. The ads included a URL for a Muslim apostates’ site.

It looked like CAIR had chalked up another victory, intimidating anyone who attempts to criticize Islam in public. But David Yerushalmi has turned the tables: his law firm, working with the Thomas More Law Center, forced Miami-Dade County to back down and reinstate the ads.

This is a significant victory for sharia opponents over the most prominent Muslim Brotherhood front group in the United States — which, incidentally, was also an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial. As David Yerushalmi says, “CAIR is a criminal organization with ties to Hamas and other jihadists. This is not my opinion but the considered view of the U.S. Attorney’s office, the FBI, and the federal courts, all based on evidence CAIR has never refuted.”

According to his law firm’s website:

Law Offices of David Yerushalmi, P.C. Win Victory for the First Amendment

Case Demonstrates that CAIR is a Fraudulent Civil Rights Organization Lobbying on behalf of the OIC

April 21, 2010—Miami, Florida: When the South Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) pressured the Miami-Dade Country Transit Authority to yank bus panel ads contracted and paid for by Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer of the Freedom Defense Initiative because the ads were “offensive to Muslims”, the two activists turned to the Law Offices of David Yerushalmi, P.C. for help. Mr. Yerushalmi joined forces with the Thomas More Law Center and the two law firms began preparing a federal complaint alleging breach of contract and violation of Ms. Geller’s and Mr. Spencer’s First Amendment Rights.

The bus ad, which appears above, began running on Tuesday, April 13th. Just two days later, on Thursday, after pressure from CAIR, the bus ads had already been pulled down and Mr. Yerushalmi’s clients received notice of the ad contract termination through media reports on Friday.

CAIR, as it typically does, issued nationwide press releases and blasted emails to tens of thousands of outlets on Friday crowing over its “victory” of suppressing free speech on the grounds that the ads promoted “bigotry”. Newspaper and other media stories in the Miami Herald, the Orlando Sentinel, Fox Business News, and NBC ran blindly with the CAIR-generated story on Friday with headlines like: “Miami-Dade Transit Throws Islamic Ad Under the Bus.”

Ironically, CAIR, which has been named by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the FBI as a Muslim Brotherhood-Hamas front group and unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror fund raising trial—a trial which culminated in guilty verdicts for all of the Muslim Brotherhood defendants—claims it is “the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights organization.” Continue Reading →

Holland: MPs call for emergency debate on Islam conference

Wednesday 21 April 2010 Dutch News Nl H/T GOV

MPs have called for an emergency debate with justice minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin about a debate on the future of Islam in the Netherlands, due to take place at the end of May, the Telegraaf reports.

According to the Telegraaf, MPs are concerned about the involvement of a organization known as the Muslim Brotherhood in the conference.

According to the Dutch security service AIVD, the brotherhood strives to encourage European Muslims to adopt an ultra orthodox version of Islam in which Islam determines all aspects of life.

The aim of the conference, entitled Islam in Holland – Meditating on the Present and Future Horizons, is to encourage ‘positive methodological dialogue between Muslims and Dutch political, intellectual and religious activists, hoping to clarify opinions and remove misunderstandings around controversial or critical issues’ according to the organisers.
