Fairfax, Va-massive bust near the popular and growing radical Dar al-Hijrah mosque

May 15, 2009 ·  From Fairfax Gov and Silent Majority. Fairfax County Police led a massive bust near the popular and growing radical Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Falls Church, VA Fairfax County, home to Falls Church, one of the major frontlines of Islamist aggression. We have:

On Wednesday, May 6, over 135 law enforcement personnel participated in concluding a year-long undercover investigation. Operation Build America
was launched in May 2008 to better understand the criminal activity
taking place in and around the Build America Shopping Center. The

The investigation successfully infiltrated several criminal
organizations and businesses operating around the center.
Undercover
police officers identified nearly 40 people suspected of criminal
activity that ranges from property crimes to crimes of violence. The
undercover operation successfully recovered stolen firearms and illegal
narcotics including cocaine and marijuana.

Collectively, 143 criminal arrest warrants and 15 search warrants were issued in this undercover operation.

The success of the operation can be attributed to the coordinated effort of several units and agencies:

Muslims in NYC calling for jihad in US etc. blah blah yada yada wuzza wuzza

My favorite part is where he calls for stopping the attacks in Swat and Pakistan against Muslims who “just want to pray and worship” etc. when in fact they want to commit genocide against non Muslims in the area and enforce sharia law on all Muslims and non Muslims alike. Hell the vast majority of the refugees from the Taliban and Al Queda ARE Muslims who want nothing to do with them.

The dishonour of honour: how a Canadian courtroom has supplanted it’s vitrue with sharia.

I’m certain many by now are familiar with the ongoing trial of Hasibullah Sidiqi, the now 23 year old man charged with two counts of first degree murder for the brutal slaying of his sister Khatera and her fiance in September of 2006. After a night out of dinner and a movie, the pair were gunned down as they sat in her car at the Elmvale Shopping Centre. Khatera was pronounced dead at the scene and Feroz Mangul died ten days later in hospital.

Hasibullah Sadiqi has been accused of the crimes and is on trial in a Canadian courtroom. This case is not one to determine Sadiqi’s guilt or innocence but one rather to determine whether or not his charge(s) could be whittled down to manslaughter, a ruling which would carry a lighter sentence. The defense will argue the complex issue of provocation on Mr. Sadiqi’s behalf essentially bringing forward sharia as a defensive measure, while the Crown will advance these murders as honour killings.

It is not unusual for a defense team to bring forward what many would deem repugnant defense arguments; in fact it is their job to defend their client to the best of their ability including introducing outrageous platforms. It is also not unusual to advance religious ideology or cultural tradition as a defensive measure to attempt to mitigate a sentence. In 2004 the B.C Court of Appeal heard a similar case of a man who murdered his wife for defying Sikh principles, ultimately to his loss. So then, we should not be entirely surprised that a Canadian court could now be entertained by such an open defense of sharia.

But having said that and not long ago, we were assured that sharia law in Ontario ( and by extension Canada) would be squashed. The provincial government loudly condemned such an outrageous prospect, an outcome guided mainly by Muslim women. Yet here we find a case before the court in full, frontal swing. While Mr. Sadiqi’s defense will attempt to deliver the notion of provocation, the Crown will denounce honour killing as morally bankrupt; a foreign practice anathema to Canadian values.  Underlying both arguments is the core issue which we can no longer stretch to avoid: sharia law is at play in Canada. Have we somehow normalized sharia by simply allowing the legal argument to proceed as a valid, defensive measure in the courtroom? Have we somehow legitimized a cultural absurdity and allowed a foreign ill to compete en par with our set values? Is this another awful end-result of a failing and out-dated multicultural project?

Consider this: Hasibullah Sadiqi came to Canada in 1986 with his parents from Afghanistan when he was five months old. Yet despite being raised in an environment of opportunity, equality and tolerance, he assumed the misogynistic watch-man post over his two sisters at the apparent grooming of his father. What was happening in Canada in 1986?– the World Exposition opened in Vancouver, Brian Mulroney was Canada’s 18th Prime Minister, Top Gun was the highest grossing film of the year and Madonna and the Vatican were at odds over Papa Don’t Preach. Pretty benign stuff. What was happening in Afghanistan in 1986? The continuation of age-old tribal feuding, war, corruption, oppression, violence, religious intolerance and the never-ending subjucation of women. Same old stuff.

Is this the proud heritage and loving legacy that Hasibullah’s father imported and imparted to his Canadian son? Is this the pious model by which Sadiqi chose to valiantly defend on September 19 only to end his sister’s life in it’s honour? Why didn’t Hasibullah assimilate to a country that would have gladly provided him every avenue for success, enrichment and freedom? Why would he betroth himself to a distant nation he never knew? Why was his sister’s healthy independance considered such a profound mark of distain to the family’s good sensibility that she would have to pay recompense with a bullet in her head?

Many questions, but perhaps all things considered it is time to ask. After all, it was this same “profound attachment to his heritage” as he has claimed, that was the motivating factor which led him to confront his ‘shameful’ sister and her fiance with a loaded .44 magnum. And it is this same attachment to cultural heritage that lawyers now find themselves either courting or denouncing in an Ottawa courtroom and the same imported legacy by which the public has the right and duty to openly scrutinize. If Mr. Sadiqi calls upon sharia as a cultural defense in a Canadian court, then surely Canadians would be within their purview to alternatively denounce sharia as a cultural offence.

Canadian law is specific; first degree murder requires a sentence of life in prison. We can argue as we have time time and again, that the system may be unjust through the provision of leniency via common plea bargaining. But we cannot afford to alter so readily the constitutional guarantee that all people are considered equal before the law, nor can we dismiss the disastrous outcome this specific case may indeed secure in it’s potential of creating a two-tier system. If the defense is successful on behalf of Sadiqi, our most cherished of values will have been demoted in a backward step toward a primitive rank.

Mr. Sadiqi’s attachment to  his Afghani cultural heritage does not deserve special consideration in a Canadian court any more than my Irish heritage does. If we are to uphold this most important of Canadian values, we can do nothing less than judge Sadiqi as we would any other Canadian. Khatera Sidiqi, Feroz Mangul and Canada deserve nothing less.

Ottawa Sun: Sadiqi ‘honour’ femicide trial.

From the Ottawa Sun May 16 2009

Hasibullah Sadiqi expressed a desire to “get rid of” his sister and her fiance weeks before he shot and killed the couple, one of his friends told a jury Thursday.

sadiqi

“He said, ‘I want to get rid of them,’ ” said Payman Fazli. “Then he said he was just joking.”

Sadiqi has pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of his sister, Khatera Sadiqi, and her fiance, Feroz Mangal. The pair were shot and killed while sitting in their car in the Elmvale Mall parking lot just before 1 a.m. on Sept. 19, 2006.

Although Hasibullah Sadiqi doesn’t deny he is responsible for the deaths, his lawyers have said he rejects the Crown’s theory the shootings were an “honour killing” carried out by Sadiqi.

The Crown contends he murdered the pair because he felt his sister had dishonoured his family by becoming engaged to Mangal without her father’s permission, and by moving in with the man’s family, actions contrary to her family’s Afghan heritage. Sounded sad

Under cross-examination by defence attorney Lorne Goldstein, Fazli stood by his story he’d personally heard Sadiqi use the phrase “get rid of them” when speaking about what he wanted to do about the relationship between his sister and Mangal.

Fazli said it’s likely he’s the only person who heard Sadiqi say those words on two separate occasions weeks before the shootings.

Fazli also testified about meeting Sadiqi the morning after the killings at Fazli’s apartment building on Riverside Dr. “He wanted to see me. He sounded sad and upset,” said Fazli. “He said Khatera was gone. I said, ‘What do you mean?’ and he said, ‘Khatera is gone.’ ”

Fazli said Sadiqi then admitted he’d shot the couple.

“He asked me if I wanted to go to mosque to say a prayer for her,” said Fazli. “He said, ‘She’ll become a martyr. She’s in paradise now.’ ”

Near the end of Fazli’s testimony, the 22-year-old became emotional when he talked about having to come to court and talk about the killings.

“So many families want justice for Khatera and Feroz,” said Fazli. “Two lives are gone. Everyone is hurt by this.”

Earlier in the day, court also heard from Sultan Mangal, Feroz’s father, about the last time he spoke with his son.

Mangal said he called his son around 11:20 p.m. on the night of the shootings.

“I told him, ‘Why are you late?’ ” Mangal testified through a Pashto interpreter, frequently dabbing at his eyes with a tissue. “With a smile and a laugh he said, ‘I am on the highway. I’ll be shortly home.’ That was the last (of his) voice I heard.”

Another video you should not watch.

Really. This isn’t the first time I have posted videos with express instructions not to watch them. It probably looks like a device I use to get people to watch them. Longtime readers of Vlad know it is not.   For any newcomers I will explain why I am doing such an odd thing.

From time to time I need to remind myself why I do what I do here. Let me be clear. Islam is a dangerous belief system, one which has obliterated entire ancient civilizations – all of which were infinitely superior in terms of values, knowledge, progress, civility, tolerance, and pluralism – and killed in the hundreds of millions of people and tens of millions at least in India alone. Its ‘legal system’ is snuff porn.  There are no rights for the accused or for anyone except Muslim males, and frankly, Muslim males have more rights in Israel than in any Islamic nation, however, compared to non Muslims or non males, they are gods.

So how does this relate? I’ll explain….

The terms ‘evil,’ ‘pernicious,’ ‘Hitler-like,’ ‘Nazi’ and so on have been so badly abused to refer to anything or anyone whom we don’t like, from people who smoke in bars to people who wear their hair or shoes unfashionably, that they have become utterly meaningless. Now and again I need to remind MYSELF what I am fighting – what this really is about, because despite overwhelming evidence, the daily onslaught of absurd demands by Muslims living in the non-Muslim world, the infiltration and horrors I see in Islamic nations – I still need to make sure Islam is what I know it to be.  I, like many of you, want to believe that Islam is some misunderstood form of Christianity. Having a self-checking mechanism is healthy.  To make sure that what I am doing is truly in the interest of the preservation of liberal democracy is crucial or else I am not just as bad as the enemy but as bad, perhaps, as I say the enemy is.

This is not the case. The enemy — Islam and its orthodox adherents will implement Sharia law wherever they have the numbers to do so, and remember that the portion of the world which lived under Sharia once spanned from Spain to India and was minority Muslim.  These films show, among other brutal acts of barbarity, what Sharia means. Remember that these are not like courts in the West where the accused is granted the benefit. This is a court in which prosecutors threaten to kill the defendants themselves if the judge doesn’t sentence them to a Sharia death. So once again, do not watch these videos unless you feel that you need the reassurance or that you have real doubts about the nature of Islam when in control of a territory.

May 14, 2009 Asian News UK:

A DOMESTIC violence charity is planning to use human rights legislation to sue Greater Manchester Police and the Crown Prosecution Service after a young mother was murdered by her violent husband.

Taxi driver Malik Mannan, 36, stabbed his wife Sabina Akhtar, 26, to death at their home in Longsight.

sabina

He was found guilty of murder by a jury who deliberated for 20 minutes – one of the quickest murder trial guilty verdicts in Greater Manchester’s legal history – and jailed for a minimum of 17 years.

It emerged that Sabina told police Mannan had attacked her 25 times previously – and even predicted he would kill her. But prosecutors decided not to press charges, leaving him free to murder.

Today the charity Refuge said it would argue that GMP and the CPS failed to protect Sabina.

Human rights lawyer Helena Kennedy QC said the legal action could become a landmark test case and Sabina’s family told the M.E.N. today that they would back the action ‘100 per cent’.

Sandra Horley, chief executive of Refuge, said: “Under human rights legislation, the authorities have a duty to protect persons and we believed in this case the police and CPS failed spectacularly and if they had handled it better she might still be alive today. I believe the only way to change policy and practice is to hit them where it hurts – in their wallets.”

Sabina’s family believe she would still be alive today if police and prosecutors had listened to her cries for help.

Sabina reported Mannan’s attacks and death threats months before her murder in September last year. Continue Reading →

The High Cost of Western Idealism: Saving Schoolgirls From Being Poison-Gassed in Afghanistan and Honor-Murdered in Sweden.

Phyllis Chesler needs to be read and listened to on this.

Yesterday in Charikar, Afghanistan, for the second time in two weeks, 50 innocent schoolgirls were poison-gassed at school and had to be hospitalized. Many girls lost consciousness and collapsed. Some girls were dizzy, nauseous, and threw up. Amazingly, Noor Jahan, a ninth grader at the Ura Jalili Girls High School said:

“I am pretty sure whoever has done this is against education for girls, but I strongly ask the parents not to be discouraged by such brutal action and send their children to school.”

Such attacks on Afghan girls schools have escalated within the past year. However, this barbaric, Taliban mentality is alive and well among some Afghan immigrants in the West. The Afghan-Canadian brother, Hasibullah Sadiqi, who killed his sister and her fiancé in Ottawa and who is now standing trial, came to Canada when he was five months old. Nevertheless, Hasibullah enacted ancient tribal, (or radically Islamic codes), despite the fact that he had been living in the West for more than twenty one years.

Many male immigrants look as if they’ve assimilated to western ways. They dress in western attire, speak the language of their adopted country, study, socialize with, and work alongside native citizens. They may do all these things even if they wear Muslim, Sikh, or Hindu religious attire.

When it comes to many female immigrants, especially if they are Muslim, things are different. The women are forced into (or “choose”) to wear hijab, niqab, burq’a, or chador. Their movements are closely supervised and monitored. They suffer daily threats: If they do anything that is viewed as “too western,” or do anything against their parents wishes, they will be beaten, cursed, grounded, stalked, spied on, and threatened with death.

Headless bodies found as Pakistan continues Swat operation

From Canada’s CBC News: (Hat tip tgomorgan)

Pakistani government troops secured footholds in the Taliban-controlled Swat Valley on Wednesday, discovering five headless corpses near the region’s main town.

Military officials said 11 militants were killed in the past 24 hours as commandos airlifted into the northeastern valley the day before took “firm hold’ in the remote Piochar area.

Troops were also consolidating their positions near a strategic bridge and a shrine in the valley, an army statement said.

Soldiers found the headless bodies near the town of Mingora, but no further information about the victims was provided. Local residents have said the Taliban uses the area as a dumping ground for decapitated victims.

Elsewhere in the turbulent northwest, police said dozens of assailants stormed a transport depot handling supplies for NATO troops in neighbouring Afghanistan and torched eight trucks before escaping.

Under strong U.S. pressure, Pakistani authorities abandoned peace talks last month with Taliban militants and launched a military operation to expel them from their stronghold in the Swat Valley.

The army claims it has killed more than 750 militants since the operation started.

Roughly 800,000 people have been forced from their homes in the violence, which has sparked concerns that more of Pakistan’s border regions are slipping from government control.

Tens of thousands of refugees have moved into camps run by the government and the United Nations. Others are living with relatives and friends.

EGYPT: CONVERT’S RELIGIOUS RIGHTS CASE THREATENS ISLAMISTS

Muslims said to fear that freedom to legally change religion would wreak societal havoc. Compass Direct:

CAIRO, Egypt, May 12 (Compass Direct News) – In the dilapidated office here of three lawyers representing one of Egypt’s “most wanted” Christian converts, the mood was hopeful in spite of a barrage of death threats against them and their client. At a court hearing on May 2, a judge agreed to a request by the convert from Islam to join the two cases he has opened to change his ID card to reflect his new faith. The court set June 13 as the date to rule on Maher Ahmad El-Mo’otahssem Bellah El-Gohary’s case, and lawyer Nabil Ghobreyal said he was hopeful that progress thus far will lead to a favorable ruling. At the same time, El-Gohary’s lawyers termed potentially “catastrophic” for Egyptian human rights a report sent to the judge by the State Council, a consultative body of Egypt’s Administrative Court. Expressing outrage at El-Gohary’s “audacity” to request a change in the religious designation on his ID, the report claims the case is a threat to societal order and violates sharia (Islamic law). “This [report] is bombarding freedom of religion in Egypt,” said lawyer Said Faiz. “They are insisting that the path to Islam is a one-way street. The entire report is based on sharia.”

For the second time in a month, Muslims attempt to mass poison girls for going to school.

I dare anyone to come up with a more evil act than this. Islam is some sick twisted shit and I lose patience with those who defend it or trick themseleves into moral relativism. Hat tip Grace:

CHARIKAR, Afghanistan — Nearly 50 teenagers were admitted to hospital after a suspected mass poisoning at an Afghan girls’ school, a doctor said on Monday, in the second such incident in a month.

The headmaster rushed his students out of their classrooms in the northern town of Charikar after they smelt an unusual odour and started feeling nauseous and dizzy, a 17-year-old victim told Reuters from her hospital bed.

Pigs come from Jews. Egyptian Fatwa

Here is a nice irony. Ancient Jewish laws banned the eating of pork for rational health reasons. Followers of Mohamed arbitrarily plagiarized Hebrew eating rules to lend the illusion of legitimacy to his new religion, itself a plagiarism of Judaism Christianity and Meccan moon worship. Now, an Egyptian cleric has decreed that the killing of all pigs is ‘kosher’ so to speak, because pigs in fact are Jews.

From Albawaba:

pig swineA new fatwa published in Egypt determines that the source of all the existing pigs in the world is Jews, who were cursed by Allah. The new edict was issued by Sheikh Ali Osman from the Egyptian Waqf ministry.

pigs

Due to their Jewish roots, Sheikh Osman says, it is permissible to slaughter all the pigs. The religious scholar was quoted as saying by a Jordanian newspaper that he personally believes the source of the pigs is Jews and thus the consumption of pork meat is banned in Islam.

He added that a person who consumes swine flesh is considered as one who consumed another “impure person.” Sheikh Osman said his fatwa is being supported by the heads of al Azhar, but they fear to publicly confirm it. He said he still wait for response from al azhar fatwa committee to get an official approval for his new edict.

More on Ottawa’s ‘honor killing’ trial

Tearful mother speaks of abuse at ‘honour killing’ trial

OTTAWA — A hostile encounter between Hasibullah Sadiqi and his sister’s fiancé, Feroz Mangal, occurred in a shopping mall months before Mangal and Sadiqi’s sister, Khatera, were gunned down, an Ottawa court heard Friday.

The testimony emerged during the emotional second day of Sadiqi’s trial.

The 23-year-old faces two first-degree murder charges, accused of shooting his sister and Mangal with a revolver while they sat in a car at the Elmvale Acres shopping plaza shortly before 1 a.m. on Sept. 19, 2006. Khatera was pronounced dead at the scene, while Mangal was taken off life support 10 days later.

The Crown’s theory is that the slaying was an “honour killing” sparked by anger over the couple’s engagement.

Sadiqi’s defence lawyers, meanwhile, do not deny that their client is responsible for the deaths, but are expected to argue he was provoked, which could reduce a murder charge to manslaughter.

The trial has started to hear evidence of the complex web of culture, tradition, history and relationships thought to be at the centre of the case.

The first civilian witness to testify was Sadiqi’s mother, Nasima Fayaz.

As she took the witness box, metres away from her son, she began to cry.

Fayaz said she and her former husband, both from Afghanistan, came to Canada in the 1980s with their son, Hasibullah, who was five months old. They settled in Ottawa and had two daughters, Khatera and Aurezo.

Fayaz called herself open-minded, but said her former husband was very traditional and abusive. They divorced and she moved to the Vancouver area in 1999, she said. After some court proceedings, the children were left with their father.

Six years later, Khatera tracked her down through other relatives, Fayaz said.

“The abuse was getting worse for my daughters in the house,” she said. Fayaz said she sent tickets to her children and her daughters eventually moved in with her.

Sadiqi did not move to live with his mother, citing work and then college, she said.

He protected his other family members from the alleged wrath of his father, his mother and 15-year-old sister, Aurezo, told the court. When things got bad and Khatera tried to commit suicide by taking pills, it was Sadiqi, not their father, who tried to get her to go to hospital, they said.

After learning that her daughter wanted to marry Mangal, Fayaz said she thought they were young, but wanted to support them.

Fayaz and Hasibullah Assadi, a close friend to Sadiqi who knew Khatera and Mangal, both testified that Sadiqi did not appear to be angry when he learned of the engagement.

Assadi said Sadiqi seemed happy about the news, and thought Mangal appeared to be a nice guy.

Sadiqi had asked the couple to wait for a week or so, so he could talk to his father about it, Assadi said. In earlier testimony, Fayaz said Sadiqi had asked for a week to “check out” Mangal.

Although Khatera wanted her brother involved in the engagement, she wanted nothing to do with her father, Fayaz said.

Khatera went to Ottawa, likely in late January or early February 2006, but didn’t tell her brother about her return, Fayaz said. Khatera lived with an aunt and eventually moved in with Mangal and his family, the court heard.

That seemed to anger Sadiqi, Assadi said.

The brother “was really upset about this because Khatera is his sister, instead of coming up to him, like living with him, she’s going to Feroz and his house, living there. That’s not right,” Assadi said. Sadiqi was also upset that Mangal had spent time with Khatera in Vancouver, Assadi said.

Assadi said he and Sadiqi were in the St. Laurent Shopping Centre in early or mid-spring 2006 when they saw Khatera and Mangal.

Khatera tried to speak to her brother, but Sadiqi told her to leave, Assadi said.

Mangal confronted Sadiqi about the way he spoke to Khatera, Assadi said, but Sadiqi said he could talk to his sister how he liked.

Mangal started to take off his jacket, as if preparing to fight, and the pair were separated, Assadi said. Sadiqi “wasn’t really happy” about Mangal’s actions, Assadi testified.

He said the engagement had unfolded in a non-traditional way. Although some in the Afghan community saw it as OK, others “wouldn’t see this as the right way.”

That could have affected the Sadiqis’ reputation, Assadi said.

Assistant Crown attorney Mark Moors asked Assadi what Sadiqi told people about the engagement.

Assadi said Sadiqi told them the couple wouldn’t be happy anymore. Pushed further by the Crown, he paused, appearing to choke up.

“That it’s not going to last long,” he said.

The trial, before a jury, continues Monday.

Jihad Watch: Pakistan: Lawyer threatens to kill Christian charged with “blasphemy”

And not just with his hourly billing charges, either. From Jihad Watch May 8 2009

Here is yet another example of how Pakistan’s blasphemy laws are used to terrorize innocent people. An update on this story: “Pakistan: Lawyer Threatens To Kill Christian Charged With ‘Blasphemy,’” from Compass Direct, May 6 (thanks to Jeffrey Imm):

ISTANBUL, May 6 (Compass Direct News) – A Pakistani Christian charged with abetting blasphemy against Islam was denied bail for his own safety last week after an Islamist lawyer allegedly threatened his life in a court hearing.Hector Aleem, 51, remains in Adiyala Jail in Rawalpindi, near Pakistan’s capital of Islamabad. Judge Mustafa Tanveer dismissed his bail application at a court session on Thursday (April 30).

“If the judge does not punish Aleem according to the law, then [we] will kill him ourselves,” said Tariq Dhamal, an attorney for the unnamed complainant, according to a report by the Centre for Legal Aid Assistance and Settlement (CLAAS).

Police arrested Aleem last November when a Muslim scholar received a text message insulting the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Authorities charged Aleem with blasphemy and abetting blasphemy, sections 295(c) and 109(bb) respectively of the Pakistani criminal code.

Court evidence shows the text message came from an unlisted phone number, not Aleem’s. At an April 25 hearing, Investigating Officer Zafer Ikbal said he had concluded that evidence proved Aleem’s innocence. Ikbal’s investigation, along with a February judicial decision, resulted in charges of blaspheming Islam being dropped. The charge of abetting blasphemy still stands.

Nevertheless, at the April 25 hearing prosecuting attorneys asserted that Aleem was guilty of blasphemy on grounds that “he is a Christian and can make blasphemous comments about the prophet Muhammad,” according to Katherine Sapna, a field officer for CLAAS….

He can do it. Therefore he did do it. And why is he judge as capable of doing it? Simply because he is a Christian.

If the roles were reversed, and an American court treated a Muslim this way, it would be international headline news, and “Islamophobia” detox would become required of every church and school in the country. But the international human rights organizations will take little or no notice of this.
