More than 2.5m Muslims threaten to leave Facebook after four Islamic pages are taken down

More than 2.5million users will leave Facebook unless certain Islamic pages are reinstated, it has been claimed.

A template letter that has been pasted into numerous Facebook pages accuses founder Mark Zuckerberg and other senior members of Facebook of ‘ignoring the feelings of more than 2.5million Muslims’.

The Muslim community is angry that four extremely popular Islamic pages were removed from the site and the letter warns that unless its demands are met Facebook’s Muslim users will move to an Islamic alternative.

The letter demands not only that the pages are reinstated but that new rules are introduced which make it a violation of Facebook’s terms to post anti-Islamic comments.

And Facebook is given notice that unless the changes are introduced then 2.5 million Muslim users will leave to join madina.com, a social networking site for Muslims.

The letter reads: ‘Although you have attended the world’s best communication skills courses you have been most successful in growing great hatred and hostility between you and Muslims around the world, but seriously this time you have caused an almost unrepairable [sic] damage.’

It also accuses Facebook of ‘irresponsible behaviour’ for allowing to host ‘Everybody Draw Mohammed Day’ pages which sparked controversy for encouraging users to draw portraits of the Prophet.

There is no specific ban on images of Allah or the Prophet Mohammed in the Koran but there is one line which is commonly taken to mean that it is impossible for human hands to recreate his likeness. To attempt to do so would is an insult to Allah, it is believed.

The letter demands that the four deleted pages are reinstated, disrespecting Islamic religious symbols is banned and any Facebook page which does so is disabled.

Madina.com was a social networking site set up specifically for the Muslim community.

It pledges to abide by the ‘highest Islamic principals’ and encourages Muslim unity. Female users are asked not to use pictures of themselves as profile pictures.

A spokeswoman for Facebook said that the Islamic pages, which included ‘I love Mohammed’ and ‘Quran Lovers’, were taken down because they were being used to ‘spam’ users, which is against the company’s policy.

Controversial anti-Islamic politician Geert Wilders has pledged to form an international ‘freedom alliance’ to spread his gospel of Muslim intolerance across western nations – including the UK.

Wilders, whose Freedom Party made big gains in the Netherlands general election in June, says Britain along with Canada, the U.S., France and Germany are the core states he wants to target.

The politician made a speech outlining his plans today in The Hague.

Once banned by Britain as a hatemonger, Wilders was allowed in to speak with MPs at Westminster in March to expand on his thesis that Islam is a “fascist” religion entirely incompatible with democracies.

He says he has chosen the five western nations to spread his message based on the fact that all have high levels of Muslim immigrants, liberal democratic processes and all face Islamic terror threats.

(Reuters) – Muslim parents, students and civic groups are campaigning to add two of their religious holidays to the New York City public school calendar, pinning their hopes on state lawmakers after failing to win over Mayor Michael Bloomberg to the idea.
Putting Eid Ul-Fitr, a holiday marking the end of Ramadan, and Eid Ul-Adha, celebrating the end of the hajj, the pilgrimage to Mecca, on the list of official school holidays will help ease suspicion and reduce anti-Muslim sentiment nearly a decade after the September 11 attacks, they say.

Colombia: 1,500 FARC Rebels In Venezuela – Report

A leaked report by Colombian intelligence services and the Administrative Department of Security claims there are approximately 1,500 guerrillas from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in 28 support and first aid camps in the Venezuelan states of Apure and Zulia, El Espectador reported July 15. The report indicated that FARC leaders Ivan Marquez and German Briceno travel freely in those regions and that Marquez met with an unidentified Venezuelan general at least twice in Barinas state between March 6 and 12.

The gist of it, is that Geert has sought out parties across the Western world which are non-racist and truly liberal, and has formed a coalition with them. Thank god that at least one culture with a healthy sense of scientific inquiry is not self-hobbled by political correctness, where truth takes a back seat to what political philosophy requires to be true. H/T to Fjordman for finding this excellent article from the Economist, I very much look forward to the highly predictible results of this investigation. For those who cannot wait, I would suggest preparing yourselves for it by reading the excellent book, ‘Human Accomplishment’ by Charles Murray which does a historical enquiry of all human achievement in order to know the same thing.

But the organisation is involved in even more controversial projects. It is about to embark on a search for the genetic underpinning of intelligence. Two thousand Chinese schoolchildren will have 2,000 of their protein-coding genes sampled, and the results correlated with their test scores at school. Though it will cover less than a tenth of the total number of protein-coding genes, it will be the largest-scale examination to date of the idea that differences between individuals’ intelligence scores are partly due to differences in their DNA.

Dr Yang is also candid about the possibility of the 1,000-genome project revealing systematic geographical differences in human genetics—or, to put it politically incorrectly, racial differences. The differences that have come to light so far are not in sensitive areas such as intelligence. But if his study of schoolchildren does find genes that help control intelligence, a comparison with the results of the 1,000-genome project will be only a mouse-click away.

At the moment this frenetic activity is paid for mostly by regional development grants and loans from state-owned Chinese banks, but Dr Yang hopes to go properly commercial. The Hong Kong operation will work partly as a contractor, and Mr Wong hopes to persuade biologists around the world to send their samples in and have them sequenced there rather than relying on their own universities to do the sequencing. Whether the BGI’s researchers can turn their mass-produced DNA sequences into new scientific insights and bankable products remains to be seen, but the world is watching.

‘Man who killed UK troops in Afghanistan’ contacts BBC

 BBCNEWS… A man who says he is the renegade Afghan soldier who killed three British troops in Helmand province in Afghanistan has contacted the BBC.

The man said he had been angry at the conduct of British troops and that he had acted alone. He said he joined the Taliban after the attack.

The three members of the Royal Gurkha Rifles died in a gun and rocket-propelled grenade attack on Tuesday.

The UK Ministry of Defence said it was aware of the man’s claims.

Since the three British soldiers – Major James Joshua Bowman, from Wiltshire, Lieutenant Neal Turkington, from Craigavon, and Corporal Arjun Purja Pun, from Nepal – died on Tuesday, the BBC has been trying to find out why they were killed. Continue Reading →

Amazing color footage of formation of Israel found

This is footage taken by a wealthy Bostonian  who bought one of the only privately owned portable colour movie cameras in the 1940’s & 50’s and travelled to Israel to record the historical formation of the state in
colour.

The footage was then stored in a Boston attic and forgotten about. Recently, as the grandkids were cleaning up the house for sale they found the lost films and called an friend who was an Israeli director.

are working on a huge documentary, but the below clips show several minutes of right before, during and right after Israel was formed – *IN COLOR*, including images of a very young Peres, Rabin, Golda, Tabenkin (head of the Palmach), British Mandate soldiers walking the streets of Jerusalem .. etc.

Communism and unions now have nothing whatsoever to do with workers or fairness to the oppressed.

Here is a rather stunning documentary about how many poor people with little or no opportunity are tricked into going to Dubai for great jobs only to have their passports taken from them, and offered literally slave wages and slave living conditions. This is not ‘like’ slavery, it is slavery. But the silence from unions and communists and all who gain their reputations and moral authority from “defending the working class” are stunningly silent. What are they doing instead with all that sanctimony? Why boycotting Israel of course. Israel, the one place in the entire middle east where workers enjoy freedom, strong unions, a wage that allows them to raise a family and live in a nice house and frankly achieve the dream of the working man from the first time one guy hired another to move his rocks around. Below this article about how Greek unions and communists spend their time and effort, is the video of The Slaves of Dubai. Then think about that in context of this documentary. I think these workers could use a little support.

An El Al flight bound for Israel from Athens, Greece was delayed for about two hours at Athens International Airport Wednesday after protesters against the blockade of Gaza blocked check-in counters, airport officials said.

Members of a Communist-backed labor union said they blocked five El Al airline counters for two hours to protest the Israeli blockade of Gaza and the Jewish state’s “oppressive policies.”

“This was an action taken in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their effort to establish a Palestinian state,” union spokesman Giorgos Pontikos told the AP.

He said police were present at the protest but did not intervene.

El Al representatives decided to stop check-in efforts for the flight yet once the protest ended, check-in procedures continued.

Athens airport officials said El Al flight 542 to Tel Aviv, on an Boeing 737 airplane departed from Athens two hours after the scheduled time, at 12:30 (0930GMT), with 99 passengers, after the protest ended without incident.

El Al released a statement saying that the flight and passenger’s security is the company’s utmost priority which would not be comprised in any situation. The airline stressed that at no point were passengers at risk of harm.

Its a shame that this fine German periodical as bought into the myth that Nazi’s are right wing as have most people. But it should be obvious to anyone who thinks about it for more than five seconds whether Hitler was left wing or right. Following an anti-Semitic attack in Hanover, German authorities have identified a new source of anti-Semitic hatred in Germany: young migrants from Muslim families. The ideological alliance has officials concerned.

It was supposed to be a carefree festival in Sahlkamp on the outskirts of the northern German city of Hanover. Billed as an “International Day” to celebrate social diversity and togetherness, the June celebration included performances by a multicultural children’s choir called “Happy Rainbow” and the German-Turkish rap duo 3-K. Music from Afghanistan was also on the program.
But then the mood suddenly shifted.

When Hajo Arnds, the organizer of the neighborhood festival, stepped onto the stage at about 6:45 p.m. to announce the next performance, by the Jewish dance group Chaverim, he was greeted with catcalls. “Jews out!” some of the roughly 30 young people standing in front of the stage began shouting. “Gone with the Jews!”

The voices were those of children — voices full of hate, shouted in unison and amplified by a toy megaphone. Arnds, the organizer, was shocked. He knew many of the children, most of them from Arab immigrant families in the neighborhood.

A social worker, Arnds tried using the tools of his profession — words — to save the situation. But his words were met with stones, thrown at the stage by people taking cover in the crowd. One of the stones hit a female Chaverim dancer in the leg, resulting in an angry bruise. Continue Reading →

India has obtained evidence that Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) directorate played a more significant role in the planning and execution of the November 2008 Mumbai attack than had previously been thought, according to Indian Home Secretary G. K. Pillai, Indian Express reported July 14. Pillai said information gathered from interrogations of David Headley, a U.S. citizen accused of helping plan the attack, indicated the ISI had planned the attack with Lashkar-e-Taiba militant Hafiz Saeed “from beginning to end.” He added that the ISI was not a peripheral player, but was controlling and coordinating the attack, and that Saeed also knew everything about the attack.

Shopping centre bosses approve ‘Asian squat toilets’ following cultural awareness course

Last updated at 3:00 PM on 14th July 2010Middle Eastern-style ‘squat’ toilets are to be fitted in a shopping centre after bosses attended a cultural awareness course.

WCs at Rochdale’s Exchange shopping centre will include two Nile pans alongside traditional western toilets when they reopen following a refurbishment.

The pans differ from western toilets as the user is able to squat over them, rather than sitting.

They are preferred by some members of the Asian community for cultural reasons and were installed to give staff and customers the option of using them.

The decision to install pans in the ladies and gents toilets came about after centre management attended a cultural training course with community activist Ghulam Rasul Shahzad. Continue Reading →
