EDL THREATEN TO “CLOSE YOUR TOWNS” OVER XMAS BANS

Do desperate times call for desperate measures? Actually yeah they do. Pretty much always. And the EDL are not far right. Geert wilders, not far right. Swedens SD? Not far right. Meanwhile, this story from The Daily Star:

26th October 2010

By Steve Hughes

A FAR-RIGHT group has vowed to “close down” any town that ditches British traditions and shows favouritism to Muslims.

The English Defence League said it has written to every council in the country threatening a mass invasion if they ban the word “Christmas”.

It includes using the term “winter festival” in case Christmas upsets Muslims.

EDL leader Stephen Lennon said “working class people” in the UK were “at boiling point” over what he says is the “Islamisation of Britain.

His declaration comes after yesterday’s Daily Star poll found 98% of readers fear that Britain is becoming a Muslim state.

He said: “If the politicians aren’t going to stick up for us, we will make them, because we will cause so much fuss and so much noise they are going to have to listen.

“We will not back down or be beaten into submission. We don’t care if you call us racists. We are coming anyway. We are going to continue doing it until someone listens.”

The EDL was set up last year after Islamic extremists hijacked a homecoming parade for British troops in Luton, Beds.

On Sunday more than 250 EDL members joined US activist Rabbi Nachum Shifren at an anti-Palestine demo outside the Israeli Embassy in London.

John Cruddas, Labour MP for Dagenham and Rainham, said: “All parties must search for a definition of modern England to choke off what the EDL taps into.”

Islamists, Iran, and the RCMP’s “cultural diversity”

by Michael Petrou on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 3:06pm — 3 Comments

An RCMP “ethnic liaison officer” is urging his colleagues to attend a conference on a “ Just and Sustainable Peace “ that was organized in part by a Green Party of Canada candidate who believes the 9/11 attacks were an “inside job,” and whose participants include the director general of an NGO that endorses hate-filled stereotypes about Jews. Three academics from Iran are flying in for the event.

Among speakers scheduled to speak at the conference, which will take place in Ottawa on Oct. 28, is Davood Ameri, director general of the Iran-based “ Islamic World Peace Forum,” an organization whose website includes cartoons of Israeli soldiers murdering babies, and one of a hook-nosed Jew wearing a top hat full of tiny skulls.

Saied Ameli, identified by conference organizers as dean of the faculty of global studies at Tehran University, is scheduled to attend, as is Elham Aminzadeh, reportedly of Tehran University’s faculty of law, who has praised Iran for what she describes as its efforts to protect women’s rights since the Islamic Revolution of 1979. She was formerly an Iranian parliamentarian and in 2006 claimed stoning sentences were no longer handed down in Iran. They are. A third Iranian academic scheduled to participate is Hassan Hosseini.

Nasir Islam, a professor at the University of Ottawa, is on the program; as is Vern Neufeld Redekop of Saint Paul’s University in Ottawa; Ottawa lawyer Ernest Tannis; and Zijad Delic, head of the Canadian Islamic Congress.

The conference has been organized by Green Party members who call themselves the “ Ottawa Group of Four.” They include Qais Ghanem, a doctor whose posting on the “Medical Professionals for 9/11 Truth” reads: “I have, from the outset, believed that the 9/11 horrendous massacre of thousands of innocent civilians could not possibly be the work of a dozen amateur Saudis. Close watching of video clips and reading of lots of expert opinions convinced me further that this is an inside job, or that it was at the very least done with inside help.”

Other members of the group are Paul Maillet, a retired air force colonel; Sylvie Lemieux, who retired from the Canadian Forces as a lieutenant-colonel and then worked in the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade; and Akbar Manoussi, who was recently hired as chair of “clean energy education” at the Willis College of Business, Health, and Technology in Ottawa.

Manoussi’s Green Party online profile for the 2007 provincial election in Ontario says he is “secretary general” of the “Iranian Scholars Association of Canada” — which appears to exist only in Manoussi’s imagination. His claim prompted nine Iranian-Canadian journalists and academics to write Green Party leader Elizabeth May in 2008 and inform her that they had never heard of the organization.

Manoussi has also identified himself as “director general” of the “Iranian Cultural Centre” in Ottawa, which shares the same address as the Iranian embassy. At least once in the last year he has attended a conference in Iran hosted by the government there and geared toward burnishing the country’s image and attracting foreign investment.

Islam and Women’s rights. Ayaan Hirsi Ali. C-SPAN

Once again, a brilliant expose of the factual nature of Islam today and its consequences to a secular West with an emphasis on women’s rights. This is just under an hour.

ITALIAN MAYOR TO ENFORCE VIRTUE IN LOCAL POPULACE

Talk about over reach. The TT is not talking about certain civil dress codes that seek to provide a bit of public decency in order to protect children from overt crude and lewd attire. This new dress code statute could almost have been written by an Islamonazi, with public blasphemy (presumably swearing) being a finable offense as well.

There is a line to be drawn between infringing upon the rights of some, in order to protect the rights of others, it’s a continual battle waged all the time, so in that respect, this is not a new issue. Regulating attire (outside of the usual “no swim wear on public sidewalk”) is a slippery slope to tyranny, regulating what can be spoken publicly -outside of illegal slander and bearing false witness- is a major step towards a tyranny, and the good folks of Castellammare di Stabia should advance upon their town hall with pitch forks and torches and demand the removal of their dippy mayor, but that’s just me. KGS

Mayor Luigi Bobbio: So my heavy handed
Taliban policies are undemocratic?

Breitbart: Skimpily-clothed women in the town of Castellammare di Stabia in southern Italy are to be fined by the police under new regulations banning “very scanty clothing” that were approved late Monday.

The ban will include skirts judged to be too short, jeans that are too low-slung and necklines that are too plunging and is intended to guard against anti-social behaviour, a spokesman for the town council told AFP.

Mayor Luigi Bobbio of Italy’s ruling People of Freedom party defended the much-derided new legislation, which prompted a small protest by female members of the opposition Democratic Party who held a “Mini-skirt Day” rally.

“Mini-skirts are not included in the ban. Mini-skirts are not considered very scanty clothing unless they’re so small that they are no longer a skirt and they leave the undergarment showing,” Bobbio said before the vote.

Following the vote, he said the ban made Castellammare “a civilized city.”

But a protester outside the town council on Monday held up a placard reading: “The only ones in just their underwear are Castellammare’s workers” — an apparent reference to threatened job cuts at the town’s shipyard.

The new rules also ban blaspheming, sunbathing in public and playing football in many public areas — a hugely popular pastime in the town.

Iraq al Qaeda more lethal as homegrown insurgency

By Suadad al-SalhyPosted 2010/10/26 at 8:43 am EDT

BAGHDAD, Oct. 26, 2010 (Reuters) — Al Qaeda’s Iraqi branch has evolved into a homegrown, more lethal and bolder insurgency comprised of Iraqi fighters hardened in U.S. prisons and posing a challenge to Iraqi forces, military officials say.

The insurgency has been strategically weakened by the deaths of leaders, and both its numbers and the territory in which it can maneuver have shrunk since 2006-07, when Sunni tribal chiefs turned on it and joined forces with the U.S. military.

But what Iraqi officials call the “third generation” of al Qaeda in Iraq may be more difficult to fight than before because its fighters can blend in, know the weaknesses of Iraqi society, and are more interested in making a spectacular splash with their attacks than in battlefield victories.

Their assaults are aimed at grabbing attention and rattling the population at a time when sectarian tensions are fraught because of the failure of politicians to agree on a new Iraqi government seven months after an inconclusive election.

“We face the third generation of al-Qaeda now, a generation that mostly graduated from (U.S. detention camps) Bucca, Cropper and other such places,” said Major General Hassan al-Baidhani, chief of staff for the Baghdad operations command.

Al Qaeda has shown “a new type of boldness,” attacking heavily protected targets and security forces head on, Baidhani told Reuters. “This strategy depends basically on shock. They are not looking for success as much as looking for attention.”

Shi’ite Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki is battling to retain his job, opposed by the Sunni-backed, secular Iraqiya alliance of ex-premier Iyad Allawi and some erstwhile Shi’ite allies.

If Iraqiya ends up being sidelined, the Sunnis who voted for it in March may react in outrage and return to supporting the Sunni Islamist insurgency, security officials say.

In the run-up to the 2003 U.S.-led invasion, the Bush administration accused Saddam Hussein’s regime of having links to al Qaeda as part of its campaign to bolster support for war.

No ties were ever proven but al Qaeda was quick to take advantage of the post-invasion chaos to establish a presence in Iraq.

Heavily-armed police train for possible Mumbai-style terror attack on the streets of Britain

Police are being given more powerful guns and extra training to prepare for a possible Mumbai-style terror attack in Britain.

Security chiefs are staging a series of counter-terrorism exercises with police sharpshooters training alongside units of the elite SAS under the plans.

The development follows the interception last month by British intelligence officials of a credible Al Qaeda-linked plot.

That would have reportedly been similar to the deadly commando-style raids in Mumbai, India, two years ago, which left 166 people dead and several hundred injured.

Cities in France and Germany were also targeted as part of the plot.

Former security minister Lord West told the BBC police officers needed to be properly trained to deal with similar terror attacks.

He said: ‘These people like the Mumbai terrorists, are a bit like soldiers, they do fire and support, move forward, all they want to do is kill as many people as possible, with slightly heavier weapons than our police have.

‘And therefore you have to give heavy weapons to the police and train them how to do it. Continue Reading →

NY Post: ‘Terror’ not firma for GZ imam

New York Post:

Ground Zero imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who came under fire for once saying Osama bin Laden was “made in the USA,” yesterday stopped short of using the word “terrorists” to describe the murderous 9/11 hijackers, instead calling them “those who attacked America.”

During an interview on Al Jazeera TV, recorded during a trip to Doha in the Persian Gulf, Rauf was asked whether 9/11 affected the “discourse of American Muslims.”

Rauf, who has said he wants to be a bridge between the US and the Muslim world, said 9/11 caused some Americans to view Islam with suspicion.

“Islam was seen as a national security threat in America because the . . .,” Rauf said, pausing in mid-sentence before continuing, “because those who’ve attacked America utilized the vocabulary of religion.”

Capturing children and raping women to death in Sudan, while yelling “Allahu Ackbar”

KitmanTV asked me to capture a section of a CSPAN broadcast from 2009 where various Sudanese refugees spoke of the truly unimaginable horror they faced at the hands of Muslims, stealing their children to make future mass murderers of them to slaughter their own people in the future, and raping women to death, making slaves of the men who they let live.

Kitman is making a mini-documentary about Islam and slavery which I know is going to be fantastic when it is done, but here is the raw testimony from 2 of the people at the congressional hearings. Please feel free to download these videos to your own sites and youtube channels etc, or email this link to all you know, still in caustic denial of the nature of Islam when left free to act in full compliance with its own dogma. Please feel free to click over to CSPAN to see this whole testimony, but warning, it is over 3 hours. KitmanTV does us all a huge service by watching hundreds and hundreds of hours of various materials to bring us things we really need to see, but do not have the time to find.

Hudson Inst. The Beginning of the End of European Multiculturalism

The attempt to get native Germans to live peacefully side-by-side with foreigners has not worked. In an unprecedented admission that is sure to transform the debate in Germany (and in Europe as a whole), over uncontrolled mass immigration, especially from Muslim countries, German Chancellor Angela Merkel now concedes that German multiculturalism has “failed utterly.”

Speaking to a meeting of her center-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party in Potsdam outside Berlin on October 16, Merkel said: “We are a country which at the beginning of the 1960s actually brought [Muslim] guest workers to Germany. Now they live with us and we lied to ourselves for a while, saying that they will nott stay and that they will have disappeared again one day. That is not the reality. This multicultural approach—saying that we simply live side by side and are happy about each other—this approach has failed, failed utterly.”

Merkel’s sobering comments follow the publication in October of a survey by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, a think tank linked to the center-left Social Democratic Party [SPD], which found that 55% of Germans believe that Arabs are “unpleasant,” and over 33% believe the country is being “overrun” by immigrants. The study also noted that “far-right attitudes” are not isolated at the extremes of German society, but to a large degree “at the center of it.”

The debate over what to do about Germany’s broken immigration system has been simmering for years, but began in earnest in August, when Thilo Sarrazin, a prominent German banker, and also a long-time member of the SPD, published a controversial new book titled “Germany Does Away With Itself.” The book broke Germany’s long-standing taboo on discussing the impact of Muslim immigration by highlighting painful truths about the current state of affairs.

At the time, Merkel sought to distance herself from Sarrazin’s views and called for his dismissal from the German Central Bank. In a September 3 interview with the Turkish daily Hurriyet, for example, Merkel labelled as “ridiculous” Sarrazin’s view that there were too many immigrants, particularly Muslims, in Germany, and that their presence was damaging the country. She also told Germans they must get used to mosques as part of Germany’s changing landscape.

But pressure from within the CDU over integration may now be prompting Merkel to take a tougher line on immigration. Disastrous opinion polls and right-wing dissatisfaction with her perceived “left-wing” conservatism have led to an open discussion about an early replacement for Germany’s first woman leader.

In any event, Sarrazin’s concerns over Muslim integration are resonating with the German population at large, and politicians like Merkel are taking note. Sarrazin’s book has topped the bestseller list on bookseller Amazon’s German website since its publication, and book tour dates across the country are sold out. Polls show broad public support for Sarrazin’s anger that many Muslim immigrants shut themselves off from Germany, do not speak German and do not share the German or Western worldview.

Scotland: No men allowed in ‘halal’ hair salon.

From Herald Scotland, courtesy TROP

Now it’s halal hairdressing: a snip for Scottish Muslims

  • Mahida Iqbal
  • Mahida Iqbal struck on the idea of a ladies-only salon after offering an at-home hair service to her Muslim customers.

Exclusive: Helen McArdle

24 Oct 2010

With its frosted windows, CCTV cameras, and tightly monitored security entrance, it is going to be one of Aberdeen’s most secretive business enterprises.

So, you could be forgiven for wondering if the shop has something to hide.

Well, it does – its customers. Or rather it is the customers who want to remain hidden. For this is Scotland’s first ‘halal hairdressers’ – a beauty salon which conforms to the strict rules of Islam; a place were Muslim women who wear the veil or headscarf can be seen uncovered without the risk of the gaze of men.

Discreet Creative Hairdressing, scheduled to open in three weeks, is the brainchild of 21-year-old Mahida Iqbal and her husband of nine months, Fueb Mieh.

The salon will be a ‘man-free zone’. The frosted windows will stop any inquisitive men passing by from gawping at the clients. No-one can get in without passing through a secure buzzer entry system with CCTV. All this means that the Muslim ladies who have come for a new hair-do can remove their headscarves safe in the knowledge that only other women can see them.

Our salon is completely discreet, completely hidden from the public, from men, whereas the salons here, men still walk past and they can still see in or come in.

Mahida Iqbal

Iqbal hit on the idea when she began wearing the headscarf for the first time last year, although she credits her husband – a fellow entrepreneur who runs Indian takeaways – for coming up with the proposal.

“At first I was just going to open up a hair salon that was going to be ladies-only,” said Iqbal. “But then my husband suggested I should target the Muslim community because there isn’t a salon yet in Aberdeen that provides these services.” She spoke to Muslim women who wanted a ‘halal’ service, but had nowhere to go. “So I used to go and do homers for the ladies, or they would come to my house.”

While there are other salons in Scotland which offer a ladies-only service, Iqbal wants to offer something geared to the needs of the Muslim community.

She said: “There are hair salons in Glasgow that are ladies-only, but not like our salon. Our salon is completely discreet, completely hidden from the public, from men, whereas the salons here, men still walk past and they can still see in or come in. Ours has a buzzer entry system, and we’ve got CCTV so that we can see who’s actually approaching the door.

“We can allow people in and if there is a man there then we won’t let him in. And there’s the window frosting as well. There’s a big population in Aberdeen that are Muslim. There’s Pakistani, Bengali, African, black American, Arabic – there’s a very large Muslim community. And me myself, attending mosque and attending Muslim events, I’ve got to know a lot of the Muslim ladies, so I’m hoping to generate a lot of business by word of mouth.”

However, Iqbal is not content to stop at hair-styling alone. Her salon will be a haven to a whole range of the pampering needs for Muslim women, with a variety of specialist beauty techniques such as henna tattooing and facial threading – an ancient hair-removal technique – also on offer.

“We’ve got an African hair stylist because afro hair is different from European hair, so she’s going to be doing braiding and taking care of African clients. We’re going to have a make-up artist, a beautician, a nail technician, a henna artist, a threading specialist, and teeth whitening as well.”

“It is somewhere where customers can feel comfortable, feel pampered and relaxed, knowing that no-one is going to come in and disturb them,” Iqbal added. “Muslim husbands can feel relaxed knowing that their wife is safe, where no man is going to be able to see them, and then they can come home and show their beauty. Muslim clients have never experienced this ever. It’s a great feeling.”

NO Jail for RACIST Muslims who Kicked Stabbed & Bludgeoned Lone Boy

Please click over to the Opinionator and read the media analysis he did of media hypocricy with respect to racist attacks on white indigenous Britons. He has a point you know. Most of the attacks he lists I did not know about, but I am very familiar with each case where pigs blood was spilled on an inanimate object like a mosque etc. Even though some, and nearly all of those incidents turned out to have been done by Muslims themselves.

From The Opinionator:

One can truly understand this father’s and mother’s frustration, anger and disgust knowing the muslim perpetrators of the savage racist attack against their lone 14 year old son will not be in jail.

“Joseph Haigh, then aged 14, was savagely beaten by a gang of up to 15 Asian youths in Rectory Park, Thornhill, last October.
He was knocked unconscious with a half a house brick, stabbed in the face with a screwdriver and kicked repeatedly in the head as he lay helpless. His attackers hurled racist abuse at him, referring to the colour of his skin, then left him for dead.”  See article below

Exposing the ACLU’s rather blatant double standard.

The modern ACLU reminds me somewhat of a particular Oscar Wilde quote although without the humour.

“There are my principles. If you don’t like them, I have others.”

Except the ACLU does have 2 sets of consistent and opposing principles it acts on.

Below, is a video with which I do not entirely agree. That is to say, I do in fact believe in the separation of church and state. But this has to apply to Mosques as well, yet the ACLU actually fought for, and won the ‘right’ for Muslims to have publicly funded foot-baths for ritual prayer in federal airports. Something they do not even have in Saudi Arabia. Which makes this all the more annoying.
