Lars Vilks takes a fan request, draws Mohamed as blind man with guide dog being refused access to a bus

Correction: FANS of Lars Vilks did these drawings, Not Lars himself. Mia Maxima Culpa

I have to say, it makes more sense if he drew the the bus driver as Mohamed refusing to let a blind man on. I guess this is in the ‘turn around is fair play’ category.

This post ripped from Tundra Tabloids, who initially made the request to Lars to do the drawing,

‘BLIND MOHAMED WITH A SEEING EYE DOG BEING REFUSED BY CABBIES’ ART FESTIVAL…….

The Tundra Tabloids posted earlier about Lars Vilks’ most recent drawing of Paraplegic Mohamed, to which a TT commenter quipped that a “Blind Mohamed” being rejected by a cabbie might be another interesting concept.
The TT then laid down the guantlet and asked for its readers to send their version of it in, to be published here. David C., a TT reader was the first to accept the challenge and therefore gets full honors. Here it is, with other entries being added as they come in. Remember, in Mo art, there’s no such thing as crude. KGS

Andrew Bostom: Understanding the Islam in Muslim Jew Hatred

Here is an excellent lecture by Dr. Andrew Bostom, author of many books on Islam and it’s history and frames of reference, as well as co-author with Bat Ye’or. This one deals specifically with his new book on Islamic antisemitism, currently the topic of several new books by authors such as Sam Solomon etc. For those who prefer to read rather than watch and listen, the text of the speech is below the fold.

Eeyore for Vlad with special thanks to Dr. Bostom for giving me the opportunity to edit this video. The second lecture by Dr. Bostom on Jihad, will be posted sometime here in the next few days.

Federal affirmative action policy faces review

Treasury Board President Stockwell Day says no Canadian should be barred from a federal job because of race or ethnicity.Treasury Board President Stockwell Day says no Canadian should be barred from a federal job because of race or ethnicity. (Adrian Wyld/Canadian Press)? The federal government has ordered a review of its affirmative action policy one day after a woman complained that she couldn’t apply for a public service position because she’s Caucasian.

Sara Landriault of Kemptville, Ont., told the media Wednesday that she applied online for an administrative assistant job with Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and was asked by the online application if she was white, aboriginal or a visible minority. When she answered white, she said a message informed her she did not meet the criteria and could no longer proceed.

Treasury Board President Stockwell Day said no Canadian should be barred from a federal job because of race or ethnicity.

“While we support diversity in the public service, we want to ensure that no Canadian is barred from opportunities in the public service based on race or ethnicity,” Day said in a statement.

Immigration Minister Jason Kenney, who was also involved in the decision to review the government’s hiring practices, which give priority to qualified applicants from minority groups, said everyone should be considered for federal jobs.

“We are in favour of appropriate diversity in the public service and reasonable efforts to achieve it, but we don’t think any Canadians should be excluded from applying within their government,” he told CBC News. “It’s OK to encourage people from different backgrounds to apply but in our judgment it goes too far to tell people that if they are not of a particular race or ethnicity they cannot apply [for a job] that is actually funded by their tax dollars.”

But he said the review wouldn’t affect any particular cases, including Landriault’s.

Landriault, who is the founder of the International Family Childcare Association and has a picture of herself with Prime Minister Stephen Harper on the association’s website, said that no one from the government has contacted her since she went public with her story.

The government’s latest figures show more women, aboriginals and visible minorities worked in the public service in 2009 than the year before. The number of people with disabilities stayed the same in the same periods.

As of March 2009, women made up 54.7 per cent of the federal workforce, aboriginals made up 4.5 per cent, people with disabilities made up 5.9 per cent and visible minorities made up 9.8 per cent.

Guards for Somali Leader Join Islamists

NEWYORKTIMES… NAIROBI, Kenya — Somali officials acknowledged on Thursday that members of Somalia’s presidential guard had defected to the Shabab, the radical Islamist insurgent group that claimed responsibility for the recent bombings in Uganda that killed more than 70 people watching the final game of the World Cup.

The defection of some of the president’s best-trained men is the latest setback for Somalia’s beleaguered transitional government, which has lost important pieces of territory in the past few days. Insurgents are now 300 yards — a rifle shot away — from the presidential palace.

The Shabab gleefully introduced three former members of the presidential guard at a news conference in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, on Wednesday. The soldiers said they quit working for the government because it was being protected by African Union peacekeepers, who they said were killing Somali civilians with indiscriminate shelling. Pig pics removed from hospital just in case…

For the preemptive dhimmi files:

From NISNEWS Holland:

LEERDAM, 23/07/10 – Three paintings depicting pigs have been pre-emptively removed from a hospital in Leerdam because they might offend Muslims.

One patient, not actually himself a Muslim, made a complaint about the paintings because he wanted to avoid Muslims having confrontations with the pigs. The leadership of the healthcare institution, the Linge Polyclinic, thereupon decided to remove the paintings immediately, Algemeen Dagblad newspaper reports.

The artist, Sylvia Bosch, is astounded. “One week earlier, I had an e-mail from the clinic saying that they were getting nice reactions. After a single complaint, they had to be taken away immediately.”

The Linge Polyclinic has stated that the pictures were removed because “all visitors must feel comfortable in the institution”.

Mega mosque at ground zero, and what it really means.

I am so glad someone made this video. When I was interviewing Sam Solomon when he was in Ottawa June 7th, I was desperately trying to word questions to get this exact set of ideas out of him. What I got was on fact better than I had hoped, however this was what I was after. Mosques are not an analogue for a church or any other religious building. They are, exactly as Sam Solomon said, a place to plan wars, to inflame the troops, a school, a community center and the center of Islamic life. But also, they are a symbol of conquest over the Kuffar.

Very big thanks to Diana West for sending me this excellent video.

Two Muslim women wearing the specialised bathing suit have been banned from a public swimming pool in France

Two Muslim women were ordered out of a swimming pool at a French holiday village because they were wearing ‘burkinis’.

The pair leapt into the water wearing the specialised bathing suits that covered their entire bodies, including a veil over the head.

The incident comes just ten days after French MPs voted to impose a full ban on wearing a burka.

The new law, which brands the garment ‘an insult to the country’s values’, means women will be fined or jailed for hiding their faces in public.

The women at the Rives des Corbieres holiday camp in Port Leucate, southern France, were told the rules stated only swimming costumes may be worn in the water.

They were asked to either change into conventional bikinis or one-piece costumes or leave the swimming pool.

Police were then called to the drama on Wednesday after the husband of one of the women threatened the pool’s lifeguard with a bowling ball. Continue Reading →

SWEDE BLOWS THE WHISTLE ON CORRUPT UN SEC-GEN BAN KI-MOON

Ban Ki-Moon:
Steal a little and they throw you in jail,
steal a lot and they make you a king!

It’s not the Sec-Gen being corrupt that’s surprising, anyone who works at the UN knows that corruption is systemic within that institution, it’s that one of their own, a Swede no less, blew the whistle.

And lets be clear here, it was after the UN bureaucrat was leaving the UN that she blew the whistle, not before. So job protection was more important than whistle blowing, but at least the whistle was blown, no matter how late. KGS

Departing U.N. Official Calls Ban’s Leadership ‘Deplorable’ In 50-Page Memo

UNITED NATIONS — The outgoing chief of a U.N. office charged with combating corruption at the United Nations has issued a stinging rebuke of Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, accusing him of undermining her efforts and leading the global institution into an era of decline, according to a confidential end-of-assignment report.

The memo by Inga-Britt Ahlenius, a Swedish auditor who stepped down Friday as undersecretary general of the Office of Internal Oversight Services, represents an extraordinary personal attack on Ban from a senior U.N. official. The memo also marks a challenge to Ban’s studiously cultivated image as a champion of accountability.

RCMP discriminated against Muslim cadet, court rules

I thought the idea of a drill sergeant is to give abuse as way to test merit and character.

NATIONAL POST… The RCMP engaged in racial and religious discrimination when it expelled a Muslim man from its cadet academy, the Federal Court of Appeal has ruled, paving the way for the man’s return to training 11 years after his dismissal.
The decision upholds a finding by a Canadian Human Rights Tribunal in 2008 that Ali Tahmourpour, 37, faced verbal abuse and hostility from instructors, ridicule over his wearing of religious jewellery, and poor performance evaluations while enrolled in the RCMP’s Regina cadet academy (known as the Depot).
“I finally have vindication,” Mr. Tahmourpour told the National Post from his Mississauga home, saying he intends to return to the academy to fulfill his dream of becoming a member of the RCMP. “My great-grandfather was a mounted police chief in the western mountains of Persia, so it runs in the family.” Continue Reading →

Geert Wilders discloses more on Ground Zero Mosque

Wednesday, 21 July 2010 from New English Review:

Geert Wilders’ PVV discloses Dutch government support for ‘ground zero’ Mosque
Today’s New York Times, has an op ed by Robert Wright, “A Mosque Maligned”, in which he decries criticism of Imam Faisal Rauf and the controversial Cordoba House Initiative, the ‘ground zero mosque’ by asserting: “So far as I can tell, [Imam] Rauf is a good person who genuinely wants to build a more peaceful world.”
Former Muslims United (FMU) issued a news release on July 13th disclosing that Imam Rauf and his wife Daisy Khan had not signed a Freedom Pledge request sent them last October, abjuring death fatwas against those who leave Islam. So much for Rauf and Khan’s taqiyya about building a ‘peaceful’ tolerant world, given their intolerance.
Then there is this stunning revelation courtesy of a Gates of Vienna report that Geert Wilders’ Freedom Party (PVV) has uncovered Dutch government support for the ‘ground zero’ project: a $1 million grant made to the American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA) headed by Imam Rauf and Ms. Khan.  Given this disclosure should Imam Rauf and Ms. Kahn be required to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA? This information obtained by GoV has been passed on to the alliance of Ground Zero Mosque opponents in Manhattan.
Bravo to Wilders, architect of the newly launched International Freedom Alliance for questions raised in the Hague Parliament. A tip of the hat to Baron Bodissey and the team at GoV for bringing this to our attention.
Note the GoV report based on translation of Dutch news reports:
Our Flemish correspondent VH has translated an article from today’s De Telegraaf about the Dutch government’s indirect role in financing the proposed mosque at Ground Zero. Geert Wilders and the PVV have been instrumental in exposing this sordid little arrangement:
“Netherlands subsidizes Ground Zero mosque”

The Party for Freedom has filed parliamentary questions in response to an article on the Dutch website “text2|Dagelijkse Standaard}”in which it is reported[1] that the Netherlands co-finances the construction of a mosque a stone’s throw from Ground Zero in New York City with a million U.S. dollars of Dutch taxpayers’ money.

The website of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that a subsidy of $ 1,000,000 was awarded to the organization American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA). That organization is, in cooperation with the Islamic organization Cordoba Initiative, responsible for the hundred million U.S. dollar cost of the Islamic Center Mosque, which will be built near Ground Zero.

The PVV demands clarification[2] and calls the already-approved plans for the building of a mosque right next to Ground Zero absurd and an insult to the thousands of relatives of the victims who fell on September 11, 2001.

The scandal was first made public by the Dutch section of International Civil Liberties Alliance in May this year: “A mosque too far”. According to the article, it is not “only” the mentioned $1,000,000 that has been funded by the Dutch Minister of Development Aid, Bert Koenders (PvdA, Labour Party, Socialists). His “Millennium Development Goals Fund” (MDG3) also transferred half a million dollars directly to ASMA, only days before Feisal Abdul Rauf closed the purchase of the building (June 20, 2009). ‘Israel is world’s most isolated country’

From UN Watch with original article at Jerusalem  Post:

Jordana Horn
The Jerusalem Post
July 21, 2010

Outgoing Ambassador to the UN Gabriella Shalev told American journalists on Monday that Israel is “the most isolated, lonely country in the world,” and that the biggest threat to its existence is not Iranian nuclear proliferation, but international attempts to delegitimize it.

Shalev told an Israel Project luncheon in Washington that threats to Israel’s right to defend itself constitute the “first challenge” of the Jewish state, according to The Washington Times.

Shalev cited Iran and tensions with the Palestinians as other significant problems, but particularly highlighted the international community’s actions toward Israel as being potentially detrimental to the country’s future.

She specifically cited European court prosecutions of Israeli officials for alleged human rights offenses and UN efforts to single out Israeli conduct for reprimand.

Shalev said that as sanctions resolutions at the UN put international pressure on Iran, Israel’s biggest threat is now those who question the Jewish state’s right to exist and defend itself, the Washington Times reported. Continue Reading →
