How Not To Protest

Stealing someone else’s property and destroying it in protest is not going to win people over to your cause. This fool only reinforces the notion a lot of Britons still have that one side is just as bad as the other. The fact that he was given 70 days for burning the Koran and 30 days for stealing it is ridiculous but that argument is now lost as the man is a thief and has lost the higher ground.

Daily Mail… ‘What about burning poppies?’: The cry of the man sent down for burning Koran in front of shoppers.

A man who burned a Koran in front of city centre shoppers has been jailed for 70 days.

Andrew Ryan, 32, stole a copy of the holy book from Carlisle Library and then set it on fire with a lighter as a crowd gathered to hear his protests in front of a monument.

Police arrested Ryan, of Summerhill, Carlisle, shortly after the lunchtime incident in English Street on January 19.

Sentencing him at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court, District Judge Gerald Chalk said: ‘This is a case of theatrical bigotry. It was pre-planned by you as you stole the book deliberately. You went out to cause maximum publicity and to cause distress.’

He told Ryan that people were entitled to protest but not in the manner he chose. The court heard the defendant had six public order convictions between 2002 and 2010 including racial chanting at a football match and assault with intent to resist arrest.

Judge Chalk said: ‘You are a man who has a history of violence and disorderly conduct.’

Ryan pleaded guilty to religiously aggravated harassment and theft at an earlier hearing. Continue Reading →

France blocks Italian trains carrying migrants

BBC NEWS… Authorities in France have blocked trains from Italy in an attempt to stop north African migrants from entering the country.

Trains carrying migrants and political activists have been stopped at the border – prompting Italy to launch an official complaint with its neighbour.

Italy has angered France by giving out temporary resident permits to thousands of Tunisian migrants.

The permits allow them to travel freely in many European countries.

The Italian foreign ministry said the French move was “illegitimate and in clear violation of general European principles”.

Schengen infringement?

Maurizio Furia, a spokesman for the Italian rail company, said that trains were not being allowed to pass into Menton, France, from the Italian border station of Ventimiglia.

France says migrants have to prove they can support themselves financially and has set up patrols on the Italian border.

But Italy says that France’s actions are in violation of the EU’s Schengen passport-free travel zone.

“We have given the migrants travel documents, and we gave everything (else) that is needed, and the European Commission recognised that, it has said that Italy is following the Schengen rules,” Italian Interior Minister Roberto Maroni said in an interview on Italy’s Sky TG24 TV.

Italy and other European countries have been increasingly concerned about migration from north Africa following the political turmoil in the region.

Earlier this month, Italy and France agreed to launch sea and air patrols to try to prevent the influx of thousands of people from Tunisia, Egypt and Libya.

Arrests made in slaying of Israeli family in West Bank

(CNN) The Israel Defense Forces arrested two people it identified as responsible for the massacre of an Israeli family in the West Bank settlement of Itamar, officials said Sunday.

The two suspects, Amjad Awad. 19. and Hakim Awad, 28, were caught in the nearby Palestinian village of Awarta, Israeli General Security Services said. Six others have been arrested for helping them.

The pair are accused of killing Udi and Ruth Fogel and three of their children last month. The children were ages 11 years, 4 years and 3 months.

The two men were members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, but acted independently, the security services said. They decided on the attack a few days before the killings, the officials said.

According to the investigation, the pair were unsuccessful in an initial attempt to acquire a gun, but on the night of the killings broke into an empty house in the settlement and stole an M-16 rifle.

They entered the Fogel’s home and stabbed two of the children, before struggling with the parents and stabbing and shooting them, the security services said. They fled the house, fearing the shots would have been heard, but then returned to steal another weapon and stabbed the baby, the officials said. Continue Reading →

Choudary Promises To Turn Royal Wedding Into Nightmare And The Taxpayer May Fund It

In a way I want Choudary to do something. Maybe then the royal family might actually be forced to address this problem. Silence from the Queen regarding the state of Britain these days is a slap in the face to Britons. In a fair and just world the only ones to show up for this wedding would be the Islamists. While a disgusted Britain stayed home.

The Daily Express… AN INVESTIGATION was launched last night into more than £1million of Government contracts awarded to the brother of Britain’s most notorious hate cleric who is plotting to ruin the Royal Wedding.

Vince Cable’s business department is examining whether funds given to Yazdani Choudary for IT training and apprenticeship projects over the past seven years were “allocated properly”.

Mr Choudary, 48, is the wealthy elder brother of Anjem Choudary, 44, whose fanatical groups such as Al-Muhajiroun and Islam4UK, are banned in Britain.

Anjem, who wants a worldwide Islamic state and threatened a rabble-rousing march through Wootton Bassett to disrupt coming home ceremonies for dead British soldiers, is UK spokesman for Al Qaeda sympathiser Omar Bakri Mohammed.

The latest group with which he is involved, Muslims Against Crusades, is planning to cause chaos at next week’s wedding with a “forceful demonstration”.

The group has warned Prince William “and his Nazi best man” Prince Harry that unless they immediately withdraw from the military, the “day which the nation has been dreaming of for so long will become a nightmare”. Continue Reading →

Former charity funded terror group: federal audit

The Toronto Star…Nearly $15 million of Canadian charitable donations were sent overseas to groups the taxman has labelled terrorist organizations, according to a federal audit obtained by the Toronto Star.

The audit states that International Relief Fund for the Afflicted and Needy Canada (IRFAN-Canada) used “deceptive fundraising” to support Hamas.

The Canada Revenue Agency announced its decision to revoke the status of the Mississauga-based charity last week. A lawyer for IRFAN-Canada said the charity has appealed the decision.

“Canada Revenue Agency’s position is really built on a pillar of sand,” said Naseer Syed.

However, a CRA report states that “IRFAN-Canada is an integral part of an international fundraising effort to support Hamas.” Hamas is considered a terrorist organization by Canada, the U.S., the European Union and Israel.

IRFAN-Canada created promotional videos that the CRA said “demonize Israel, characterize the Arab-Israeli conflict as a religious war, appeal for all Arab and Muslim nations to join in the struggle against Israel and glorify martyrdom.” Continue Reading →

Persecuted for his cross: Electrician told he faces the sack for Christian symbol on his van dashboard

Pressed by Mr Cunliffe on whether a Muslim woman who wore a burka at work would be considered discreet, she said: ‘If they could do their job effectively, then yes.’

MAILONLINE…An electrician faces the sack for displaying a small palm cross on the dashboard of his company van.

Former soldier Colin Atkinson has been summoned to a disciplinary hearing by the giant housing association where he has been employed for 15 years because he refuses to remove the symbol.

Mr Atkinson, a regular worshipper at church, said: ‘The treatment of Christians in this country is becoming diabolical…but I will stand up for my faith.’

Throughout his time at work, he has had an 8in-long cross made from woven palm leaves attached to the dashboard shelf below his windscreen without receiving a single complaint.

But his bosses at publicly funded Wakefield and District Housing (WDH) in West Yorkshire – the fifth-biggest housing organisation in England – have demanded he remove the cross on the grounds it may offend people or suggest the organisation is Christian. Mr Atkinson’s union representative said he faces a full disciplinary hearing next month for gross misconduct, which could result in dismissal.

The association strongly promotes ‘inclusive’ policies and allows employees to wear religious symbols at work.

It has provided stalls at gay pride events, held ‘diversity days’ for travellers, and hosted a gender reassignment event entitled A World That Includes Transpeople.

Mr Atkinson, who has an unblemished work record, said he had not been shown similar respect.

‘The past few months have been unbelievable, a nightmare,’ he said.

‘I have worked in the coal mines and served in the Army in Northern Ireland and I have never suffered such stress. The treatment of Christians in this country is becoming diabolical. It is political correctness taken to the extreme.’

But he added: ‘I have never been so full of resolve. I am determined to stand up for my rights. If they sack me, so be it. But I am standing up for my faith.’

Mr Atkinson’s battle follows a series of similar cases involving Christians who claim their freedoms have been curbed following the introduction of controversial equality laws.

Campaigners accused the housing association of ‘remarkable intolerance’ at a time when millions of Christians will be celebrating Palm Sunday today, a week before Easter Sunday. Palms are traditionally distributed during services to mark Christ’s triumphal entrance into Jerusalem.   READ MORE

Muslim Council: women cannot debate wearing veil

The body which claims to be the voice of Britain’s Muslims has told women that wearing the veil is “not open to debate”.

The Telegraph… The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) said that not covering the face is a “shortcoming” and suggested that any Muslims who advocate being uncovered could be guilty of rejecting Islam.

That little statement from the MCB should be taken as a veiled threat, as rejecting Islam and apostasy are one in the same in the minds and laws of many Muslims and punishable by death.

In a statement published on its website the MCB, warns: “We advise all Muslims to exercise extreme caution on this issue, since denying any part of Islam may lead to disbelief.

“Not practising something enjoined by Allah and his Messenger… is a shortcoming. Denying it is much more serious.” Threat

The statement quotes from the Koran: “It is not for a believer, man or woman, that they should have any option in their decision when Allah and his Messenger have decreed a matter.” Pretty sure the Koran only speaks of modesty for all Muslims.

The statement will add to controversy about the veil after France earlier this week banned the full-face covering.

“There is no case for a French-style ban in the UK and virtually no serious person supports it,” said Haras Rafiq, of the moderate Muslim think-tank, Centri.

“But by this statement, effectively suggesting that the veil is an obligation, the MCB have put themselves at the opposite extreme of the spectrum.”

The statement is signed by the MCB’s then secretary-general, Mohammad Abdul Bari, and his deputy, Daud Abdullah. It was published in the wake of an earlier controversy about the niqab but passed without notice.

It remains available on the MCB website as a statement of policy.

Other signatories of the statement include Imran Waheed, spokesman of the extremist group Hizb ut Tahrir and several other extremists including Haitham al-Haddad, who has denounced music as a “prohibited and fake message of love and peace”. All 27 signatories, who describe themselves as “Islamic groups and scholars,” are male.

Dr Bari stepped down as secretary-general of the MCB last year, but remains chairman of the hardline East London Mosque, whose chief imam, Abdul Qayum, also signed the statement.

Dr Bari is also a former president of the fundamentalist Islamic Forum of Europe, which controls the mosque and which advocates a sharia state in Europe.

The MCB received significant funding under the previous government and was seen as the main representative voice of Britain’s estimated 2.8 million Muslims but has not received any official money since February 2010.

The MCB did not respond to enquiries.

Iraqi immigrant who ran over daughter in Arizona ‘honour killing’ gets 34 years in prison

YAHOONEWS… PHOENIX – An Iraqi immigrant was sentenced Friday to 34 1/2 years in an Arizona prison for running over and killing his 20-year-old daughter because she became too Westernized.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Roland Steinle told Faleh Hassan Almaleki that forgiveness is the core of all religion, but the judge said he was struck by Almaleki’s apparent lack of remorse for killing Noor Almaleki.

The case caused outrage nationwide after prosecutors deemed it an “honour killing” because Faleh Almaleki had said his daughter dishonoured his family.

Defence attorneys called the death an accident. Continue Reading →

Forced migrant invasion of Europe

 H/T Europe News

DAILY EXPRESS…SECRET PLOT TO LET 50MILLION AFRICAN WORKERS INTO EU

MORE than 50 million African workers are to be invited to Europe in a far-reaching secretive migration deal, the Daily Express can reveal today.

A controversial taxpayer-funded “job centre” opened in Mali this week is just the first step towards promoting “free movement of people in Africa and the EU”.

Brussels economists claim Britain and other EU states will “need” 56 million immigrant workers between them by 2050 to make up for the “demographic decline” due to falling birth rates and rising death rates across Europe.

The report, by the EU statistical agency Eurostat, warns that vast numbers of migrants could be needed to meet the shortfall in two years if Europe is to have a hope of funding the pension and health needs of its growing elderly population.

It states: “Countries with low fertility rates could require a significant number of immigrants over the coming decades if they want to maintain the existing number of people of working age.

“Having sufficient people of working age is vital for the economy and for tax revenue.”

The report, by French MEP Francoise Castex, calls for immigrants to be given legal rights and access to social welfare provision such as benefits.?

Ms Castex said: “It is urgent that member states have a calm approach to immigration. To say ‘yes’, we need immigration … it is not a new development, we must accept it.”

The proposals include the creation of a “blue card” system, based on the American green card, that provides full working and welfare rights. READ MORE

DailyExpress…ANGER AS EUROCRATS HIT OUT AT UK EXPULSIONS
EURO meddlers provoked fury last night by blasting Britain’s tougher policy on booting out unwanted migrants.

The Council of Europe – which has previously insisted that convicted murderers, rapists and paedophiles must be given the vote – attacked our “over-restrictive migration laws”.

In a statement, the Eurocrats said it was “not acceptable” for governments to remove unwanted migrants by sending them to countries that “do not respect international refugee law and human rights standards.”

Clinton warns creeping intolerance threatens to derail Arab democratic revolutions

Clinton does not get that this is true democracy. It is the will of the majority that influences the actions of the state. This woman needs a dictionary.

YAHOONEWS/CANADIANPRESS…BERLIN – U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton warned Friday that rising intolerance toward women and religious minorities threatens to derail democratic transitions around the Arab world and spread violent extremism.

Accepting an award named for a pre-Nazi era German Jewish businessman, politician and foreign minister who was murdered for his promotion of inclusion and tolerance, Clinton said she was disturbed by recent developments in post-revolt Egypt in which women and Coptic Christians were singled out for attacks and abuse. They are signs, she said, that extremists are intent on seizing transitions for their own aims.

The 1922 assassination of Walter Rathenau, was “a cautionary tale about how these transitions can be undermined by intolerance and hijacked by extremists,” she told a ceremony in Berlin.

She said the incidents in Egypt were testing the unity of pro-democracy demonstrators whose peaceful protests ousted Egypt’s authoritarian president and could fracture the reform movement.

Clinton said she feared similar backsliding elsewhere in the Mideast and stressed it was critical for Egyptians and other Arabs whose nations are in the throes of change to resist intolerance and demand that their new leaders embrace open and inclusive governments.

“It will be critical,” she said, for citizens and leaders “to work together to resist these dangers and keep their nations on track to become open, inclusive, pluralistic democracies.”

“Democracy is a never-ending task that requires participation and protection and it is only possible if every citizen can enjoy its benefits,” she said. “Societies thrive when all their people contribute and participate. But they stagnate when women are excluded or minorities are persecuted.”

Iran: Tehran announces new ‘halal’ Islamic internet

(AKI) – Iranian authorities have announced they intend to launch an Islamic internet to counter the influence of the US-dominated World Wide Web.

“Iran will soon create an internet that conforms to Islamic principles, to improve its communication and trade links with the world,” the head of economic affairs with the Iranian presidency, told state news agency Irna in an interview.

Ali Aqamohammadi explained that Iran’s new network will operate in parallel to the World Wide Web and will replace it in Muslim countries in the region.

“We can describe it as a genuinely ‘halal’ network aimed at Muslims on a ethical and moral level.

“The aim of this network is to increase Iran and the Farsi language’s presence in what has become the most important source of international communication,” Aqamohammadi said. “Iran will soon create an internet that conforms to Islamic principles, to improve its communication and trade links with the world,” the head of economic affairs with the Iranian presidency, told state news agency Irna in an interview.

Pakistan: Two French terror suspects arrested in Lahore

(AKI) – Security agents in the eastern city of Pakistani city Lahore have arrested two French nationals suspected of belonging to an international terror group, French and Pakistani sources said late Thursday.

The pair, who have not been identified publicly, were arrested at a bus stop in the Lahore in late January after going there from the airport with a man identified as Tahir Shehzad, a Pakistani intelligence official said.

The Frenchmen are suspected of being part of the group responsible for the bloody attacks in Bali, Indonesia in 2002 that killed 202 people, the worst terror attack in Indonesia, according to Pakistani security officials, who requested anonymity.

The terror group is allegedly headed by Indonesian Umar Patek, is suspected of having ties to Al-Qaeda and was himself arrested recently in Pakistan following a ten-year manhunt that involved cooperation with the CIA.

The Frenchmen had intended to travel with Patek to Pakistan’s North Waziristan region where top Al-Qaida commanders are based, the Pakistani officials said.

France has asked the Pakistani authorities for permission to visit the two detainees, a representative at the French embassy in Islamabad told media.

It was not immediately clear if the men were suspected of plotting a terror attack. One of the French citizens is of Pakistani origin and the other is a convert to Islam, the Pakistani official said.

There are an estimated five million Muslims in France, Western Europe’s largest Muslim population.

Now elf ‘n’ safety bans 400-yard Easter parade

The war on Christians continues in UKistan.

MAILONLINE… Every year the Christians from different churches get together to march a 400-yard route to celebrate Easter.

But this year their Good Friday parade has been banned – because it breaches health and safety laws.

Church leaders say town hall bureaucrats are refusing Christians rights routinely afforded to minority groups, and have vowed to defy them.

Previously organisers of the parade in Willesden, north London, had only needed to inform police of their route. But new red tape means they now need permission from Brent Council.

Officials said they banned the procession because they were contacted too late to carry out a ‘consultation’ to close the roads. Continue Reading →

Pakistan’s blasphemy vigilantes kill exonerated man

Talahore, Pakistan (CNN) — Mohamed Imran had been accused, jailed, tried and cleared: if anything, society owed him a debt as a man wrongfully accused.

But his crime was blasphemy. He was meant to have said something derogatory about the prophet Mohammed, so in Pakistan justice worked a little differently.

Two weeks after he returned to his small patch of farmland on the rustic outskirts of Islamabad, his alleged crime caught up with him.

Two gunmen burst into the shoe shop where he was sat talking to a friend. Imran tried to duck, to seek cover behind the man next to him — terrified so greatly for his own life that he perhaps forgot about those around him.

But the gunmen found their target and Pakistan’s controversial blasphemy laws claimed another victim. Continue Reading →

Iran: Bill banning dogs from public places introduced in parliament

ADNKRONOS… Under the bill, dog owners will be banned from taking their pets out into public spaces and in vehicles. First-time offenders will be fined five million riyals (around 4,800 dollars) and will be given 10 days to dispose of their dog.

If the dog owner fails to comply with these rules, health authorities will be called in to remove the dog from its owner. It is unclear what would be done to the dog.

The health ministry has been asked to enforce the rules, as have city councils and the 280-member parliament’s culture committee, Irna reported.

Besides being “unclean,” keeping dogs as pets goes against Iranian values, as it is a pratice which indicates the influence of Western culture, according the 39 MPs who tabled the bill.

Hardliners have moved to crack down on dog ownership, which has been on the rise in recent years in Iran, especially among citizens in the affluent neighborhoods of the capital, Tehran.

In June 2010, Iran’s Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi issued a fatwa or religious edict against keeping dogs as pets, and police have fined dog owners and confiscated pets from streets and parks.

An exception has been made for working canines such as guard dogs and sheep dogs.
