State owned media and incitement to murder

Vlad Tepes blog in cooperation with many fine people and organizations, coordinated by Gates of Vienna, has posted quite a few recent-history videos of and about Pim Fortuyn recently. There is a reason for it.

The government sponsored a campaign of demonization of former Member of Parliament, Pim Fortuyn and used the power of state owned media to create such a powerful and distorted image of him, that some ‘left wing activist’ eventually murdered him, despite the fact that he was a (to quote Mark Steyn) “Gay hedonist” and a classical liberal if not an actual socialist. Whatever he was, he was not a “far right wing politician” as he was reffered to by Dutch media constantly.

The exact same thing is being done to Geert Wilders and for the same reasons. He is running against the modern multicultural narrative and prefers free market economics as well as individual rights. Essentially classical liberalism as spelled out by people such as Thomas Jefferson.

When you see a set of events as we did with Mr. Fortuyn once, we can say ‘oh yes I can see how this may have led to that but who could have expected it.’

Well please have a look at the cartoon below published on state owned Dutch media and keep in mind, the bird is the symbol of Geert Wilders political party, the PVV

It doesn’t take a Derren Brown to see how this may influence the more suggestible of the Dutch population.

Now how about this for subtlety?

Any ideas who they are comparing Mr. Wilders, the man who frequently visits Israel and talks about protecting the now threatened Jewish and gay populations of the Netherlands from Muslims who preach the death of individuals from both groups, as a matter of common policy?

Still not sure? How about now….

For a comprehensive analysis of Geert’s current situation and that of Mr. Fortuyn, please see this post at Gates of Vienna. It also contains translations from Dutch media. It’s well worth the click.

Dutch Dork Doesn’t get it

It turns out there is such a thing as a stupid question. This guy asks why we are banning head-scarves in the 21st century instead of asking why women are still being forced to wear them. Mine Gott in Himmel, it’s like a black guy in the south wearing leg irons and shackles around to protest the actions of Abe Lincoln.

Dutch Labour party has some counting to do.

It would appear that some Islamic schools in Holland are using their multicultural right to educate children the old fashioned way. With a cane. Crosscream, One of Hollands national treasures, has translated this article from the Dutch press:

Parents report improper conduct

Getting beaten during quran school

By Eric de Brouwer and Gerda Frankenhuis, freely translated by Ahcim/Cross

Rotterdam This month a young child was physically abused during Koran lessons in the city of Rotterdam. The pupil was beaten with a stick by one of the employees of an Islamic school, the man who beat the child arranges the lessons outside official school hours.

Because of the incident in Rotterdam, the previous abuses that where discovered in a mosque school in Den Hague do not seem to be an independent affliction anymore. The parliament has assigned the GGD (concerns public and mental health) to do research on physical abuse in Quranic schools in the larger cities. Though the incident is over 1.5 months old, the incident has only recently been reported. The mayor and his assistance have given report of the incident after the VVD asked questions.

One of the spokespersons of the county of Rotterdam-city said that the beating did not happen during school, but was done by someone who was not an official teacher, but hired to give the children extra quranic lessons.

”The school leadership did well reporting this incident to the GGD” said the municipal spokesperson, ”the employee in question received a reprisal”. The GGD does not believe that the school was at fault, ”because they reported the incident” says Denis Wiering, team leader youthpolicy of the GGD Rotterdam-Rijnmond.

The GGD passed the information on to the AMK (child abuse) of the bureau for youthcare. Chief executive officer René Meuwissen of the bureau for youthcare said, ”we have had talks concerning the incident, but as of yet the parents do not want to press charges”, the AMK did not do research on the child home situation because of yet there have been not any reported abuses within the family. The local Rotterdam-municipality alderman of education Lamers (Christiandemocrats), told use that he has not intention of banning schools of renting space to other organisations

First reactions to Pim Fortuyn’s murder in Holland

I cannot thank V.H. and Baron Bodessey enough for this recent string of videos showing the progression of events leading up to the murder of Dutch liberal politician, Pim Fortuyn. His demonization by the government and the press, I do not know how much the press is owned or controlled by the government but if it is anything like Canada or England, it’s nearly entirely so, certainly is what inspired the leftist, sympathetic to Islam, to murder Mr. Fortuyn. The press mis-characterize him as “far right wing” exactly as they label Geert Wilders. Yet Pim Fortuyn was well known as, to quote Mark Steyn, a gay hedonist. About as far from right wing as you can get.

Perhaps later I will assemble the clips in some sort of chronological order into one film so it can be more easily seen how this all took place. For the moment, please watch the first footage we have of the reaction to Pim’s murder.

Towards a New Feudal Netherlands. V.H. via Gates of Vienna

Here is a rather discouraging post from GOV about the state of the Netherlands and the extent to which it has allowed itself to fall under the spell and authority of irrational leftism. As I read it however, I am not at all sure how much worse this is than Canada or the U.S.A. at many significant levels. Thank you Baron Bodissey for editing and posting this in the original.

The Dutch Ummah
Several weeks ago a Dutch reader sent us a set of essays by an expatriate Dutch writer named Arthur Legger. I forwarded two of them — one from The Wall Street Journal and the other from IFPS — to our Flemish correspondent VH, and asked his opinion of them.

As regular readers know, VH is very well-informed on both Belgian and Dutch affairs, and documents his opinions copiously using multiple sources. His reply to me was so thoughtfully pessimistic that I was taken by surprise — VH has an invariably sunny and optimistic disposition, but his outlook for the Netherlands was startlingly gloomy.

With his kind permission, I have merged and edited two of his emails into the essay below. My questions to VH have been interpolated in italics:

The “traditional Dutch liberties” that according to the WSJ existed from 1997 until 2005 had in fact already ceased to exist since the immigration flow started to boom in the mid-1970s. Many non-left-wing and conservative Dutch people learned to be careful after that, to go with the flow, and to share real opinions only with the most trusted friends, and in private.

In the eighties a politician was convicted for stating: “When we have the chance, we will abolish the multicultural society”. And when Frits Bolkestein of the VVD expressed his critique of multiculture and mass immigration in parliament in the early 1990s, a very silent electorate rewarded him with a substantial increase in votes, only to be betrayed by Bolkestein being kicked upstairs to Brussels, to the EU…

In Arthur Legger’s excellent essay, he quotes Dr. Hans Daudt: “Via the main political parties the traditional regent families are still in power.” That, however, may be only partly the case with the royalty and its entourage.

For among that “entourage” is the multicultural elite, and they influence each other and hold power. Princess Maxima — who in 2002 was introduced to the ins and outs of Dutch society by extreme left-wingers and multiculturalists and ex-DDR admirers like Andrée van Es (now Secretary General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs) and Paul Rosenmöller (ex Pol Pot propagandist who, as a GreenLeft, easily got away with that) — once stated to Gretta Duisenberg (maybe the most notorious Arafat- and Hamas-admirer and anti-Semite in the Netherlands) that Dutch identity does not exist. Duisenberg: “One time Princess Maxima was there at a reception, and I passed by her, and she called me and said: ‘I want to say that I really admire you’.”

That is how bad it is with the Netherlands. Continue Reading →

Pim Fortuyn attacked with excrement and vomit by leftists. 2002

More on this later as V.H.’s translations of articles on this incident become available. For now, this video says a great deal about the left now and always. Here is a link to a Dutch article on the incident as well.

gates of Vienna has added a great deal of information on this issue which I will paste below.

Fortuyn poster #2
Rehearsal With Pies

The sixth video in our series about Pim Fortuyn and Geert Wilders concerns a pie attack on Mr. Fortuyn which served as a dress rehearsal for his assassination, which occurred a few short weeks after the incident. The official and semi-official campaign against Pim Fortuyn strikingly resembles the current campaign against Geert Wilders, right down to the stock descriptive phrases and the iconography on the left-wing posters. Like Mr. Fortuyn, Mr. Wilders, despite the campaign against him, is immensely popular with the voters and threatens the time-hallowed oligarchy that runs political affairs in the Netherlands.

Our Flemish correspondent VH has compiled a report about the 2002 pie attack on Pim Fortuyn. Along with the video, he has translated an abridged version of an article by Peter Siebelt that contains extensive background about the pie incident. He also includes two photos of anti-Fortuyn posters, one made by the International Socialists, and the other a random smear-poster from those days (at the top of this post).

Note: the Dutch word for “pie” can also be translated as “cake”. Some of the “pie”-derivative words would not make sense in English — “pier”, for example, which is not only confusing to read, but also not commonly spoken. So “caker” and “caking” are used instead in the text below.

We’ll begin with the two videos, which have been spliced together on Youtube. Many thanks to Vlad Tepes for the subtitling.

Attack on Pim Fortuyn (The Rehearsal)

During the press conference on March 13, 2002 for his new book “The Ruins of Eight Years of Purple” [coalition government VVD (blue), PvdA, D66 (red)], Pim Fortuyn was attacked by left-wing activists.

Afterwards he stated that PM Wim Kok (PvdA, Socialist) and PvdA leader Ad Melkert should stop demonizing him. “By saying that I incite hatred, they incite such reactions,” he said.

Fortuyn was taken aback and felt besmirched in his integrity. “PM Wim Kok is partly responsible for this; he is the PM of all Dutch people, thus including me.”

After having pies thrown in his face at the presentation of the book “The Ruins of Eight Years of Purple” [coalition government VVD (blue), PvdA, D66 (red)], Fortuyn appeared in the Barend & Witteman Show.

He was not asked about his policy, but his “tone”. The “tone” of the ongoing demonization campaign and pie-throwers was not quite an issue to the interviewer.

These are the final minutes of that program, in which Fortuyn states: “And for the first time in years now, a politician can raise this issue without disappearing under lock and key.”
The left-wing activists who threw the pies — which contained a revolting smelly substance — were not arrested until May 14, a month after Fortuyn had filed a complaint, and a week after his assassination on May 6, 2002.

Full transcripts of these videos are at the bottom of this post.

The rehearsal: “Pied”

by Peter Siebelt

Fortuyn poster #1Time and again that poster of the International Socialists floating into my memory. It was a call for a demonstration on May 11, 2002 by the platform “Nederland Bekent Kleur” [Netherlands Admits Color, which is now involved in the Wilders Trial] against Pim Fortuyn. Four days before the parliamentary elections the plan was that the International Socialists, the FNV [left-wing workers union], GreenLeft, the PvdA [Socialists] and other Left-wing groups in Rotterdam, would demonstrate in front of Fortuyn’s home with the slogan, “Give racism no vote”.

Even before the murder of Fortuyn, I had received indications that the demonstration would get out of control. The poster promised nothing good. On it was the face of Pim Fortuyn, with a blood-red triangle pointing at his forehead. Underneath was the text “Stop the Dutch Haider”.

When anti-globalization pie-throwers are preparing for an action, they put a picture of the heads of the targets on a bulletin board. They also keep track of when and where their target will be present. Would the poster of the International Socialists have been used on that bulletin board? Continue Reading →

Holland

Youtube user Crosscream, who was good enough to send me the translated videos of the crowd outside the Dutch courthouse where Geert wilders is on ‘trial’, has written the following article about the fall of the government in the Netherlands.

He has included some important context and history on when and why the government has fallen previously.

Thank you CC for responding so well and so quickly.

Eeyore for Vlad

The Dutch ruling-parliament has fallen, or as we say in Dutch ”Het kabinet is gevallen” this means that the political coalition between the 3 ruling parties have fallen into such an disagreement that they thought it was wise to hold new elections. It is the third time this has happened this decade with an extra emergency ruling-parliament to fill in the gaps.

The first time was after the assassination of Pim Fortuyn. The Dutch people who felt anger and resentment voted his party into office in enormous numbers, making it with 26 seats, the second largest party in the Netherlands, only half the number the Christian-Democrats got who are traditionally the biggest party in the Netherlands.

The introduction of an anti-immigration and center-left party into the Dutch parliament caused disagreements, the LPF which was run by Fortuyn before his death needed a large amount of ministers to take the extra governmental seats, party leadership changed and eventually without the charismatic leadership of Fortuyn, the different political viewpoints within the LPF could not be united and the ruling-parliament fell on the day that Prins Claus was buried.

The second time was about disagreements between heads of one of the ruling parties called D66 and Ayaan Hirsi Ali affair and the fact that she lied about her Dutch nationality. The liberal-right D66 disagreed about the Uruzgan mission (Afghanistan), the votingblok of the D66 disagreed about the relaxed attitude that Pechhold held against Verdonks immigration policies and the cabinet fell again. Repost: The removal of the Mural done for Theo Van gogh

I am reposting this because I feel that still, a large percentage of people in Holland do not understand how totalitarian their own government has become. as well as compliant with the wishes of illiberal Muslims. This video is important, but click through to the youtube page where it lives, and read the comment threads under it. Many Dutch people have added a lot of information there about how the police in Holland will remove any reference in Rotterdam to Theo Vangogh, even something as innocuous as someone writing the word ‘Theo’ on their own property, just to have a police squad show up and remove it, while ignoring gang signs and hostile graffiti.

Holland, you appear to have a chance at redemption in this coming election. Inform yourselves, and plan your future. This election matters.

Dutch cabinet collapses in dispute over Afghanistan

H/T Fred at GAR with thanks

From the BBC:

A Dutch soldier in Afghanistan
Dutch forces have been in Uruzgan since 2006

The Dutch government has collapsed over disagreements within the governing coalition on extending troop deployments in Afghanistan.

After marathon talks, Christian Democratic Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende announced that the Labour Party was quitting the government.

Mr Balkenende has been considering a Nato request for Dutch forces to stay in Afghanistan beyond 2010.

But Labour, the second-largest coalition party, has opposed the move.

Just under 2,000 Dutch service personnel have been serving in the southern Afghan province of Uruzgan since 2006, with 21 killed.

Their deployment has already been extended once.

Where there is no trust, it is difficult to work together

Jan Peter Balkenende
The troops should have returned home in 2008, but they stayed on because no other Nato nation offered replacements.

The commitment is now due to end in August 2010.

The Dutch parliament voted in October 2009 that it must definitely stop by then, although the government has yet to endorse that vote.

The finance minister and leader of the Labour Party, Wouter Bos, demanded an immediate ruling from Mr Balkenende.

Nato priority

The collapse of the government was announced after a 16-hour cabinet meeting.

Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende
Mr Balkenende had been considering the Nato request
The prime minister said there was no common ground between the parties.

“Where there is no trust, it is difficult to work together. There is no good path to allow this cabinet to go further,” he said.

The launch in 2001 of Nato’s International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) for Afghanistan was the organisation’s first and largest ground operation outside Europe.

Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said six months ago when he began his job that his priority was the war in Afghanistan.

As of June 2009, Isaf had more than 61,000 personnel from 42 different countries including the US, Canada, European countries, Australia, Jordan and New Zealand.

The US provides the bulk of foreign forces in Afghanistan, and President Barack Obama has announced an extra 30,000 American troops for Afghanistan.

The Pentagon has said the next 18 months could prove crucial for the international mission in Afghanistan, after more than eight years of efforts to stabilise the country.

Afghanistan remains a deadly place for foreign forces.

Suicide attacks on Afghan civilians and roadside bomb strikes on international troops are common, with the Taliban strongly resurgent in many areas of the country.

The absurd trial of Geert Wilders

by Mark Steyn on Thursday, February 18, 2010 7:00am – 22 Comments

There’s no shortage of volunteers. In the Low Countries, whenever anyone seeks to discuss Islam outside the very narrow bounds of multicultural political discourse, they wind up either banned (Belgium’s Vlaams Blok), forced into exile (Ayaan Hirsi Ali) or killed (Pim Fortuyn).

It’s remarkable how speedily “the most tolerant country in Europe,” in a peculiarly repellent strain of coercive appeasement, has adopted “shoot the messenger” as an all-purpose cure-all for “Islamophobia.” To some of us, the Netherlands means tulips, clogs, windmills, fingers in the dike. To others, it means marijuana cafés, long-haired soldiers, legalized hookers, fingers in the dike. But the contemporary reality is an increasingly incoherent polity where gays are bashed, uncovered women get jeered at, and you can’t do The Diary of Anne Frank as your school play lest the Gestapo walk-ons are greeted by audience cries of “She’s in the attic!” Speaking as a bona fide far-right nutcase, I rather resent the label’s export to Holland: Pim Fortuyn wasn’t “right-wing,” he was a gay hedonist; Theo van Gogh was an anti-monarchist coke-snorting nihilist; Ayaan Hirsi Ali is a secular liberal feminist; Geert Wilders says he’s opposed to Islam because of its hostility to gay equality, whereas the usual rap against us far-right extremists is that we want the godless sodomites to roast in hell.

It’s not “ironic” that the most liberal country in western Europe should be the most advanced in its descent into a profoundly illiberal hell. It was entirely foreseeable. Geert Wilders is stating the obvious: a society that becomes more Muslim will have fewer gays. Last year, the Rainbow Palace, formerly Amsterdam’s most popular homo-hotel (relax, that’s the Dutch word for it), announced it was renaming itself the Sharm and reorienting itself to Islamic tourism. Or as the website allah.eu put it: “Gay Hotel Turns Muslim.” As a headline in the impeccably non-far-right Spiegel wondered: “How much Allah can the Old Continent bear?” It’s an interesting question, albeit if an increasingly verboten one. The Wilders show trial is important because it will determine whether the subject can be discussed openly by mainstream politicians and public figures, or whether it will be forced underground and manifest itself in more violent ways.

Yet, despite its significance, the trial has received relatively little coverage in the Western media, in part because, for those of a multiculti bent, there’s no easy way to blur the reality—that this is a political prosecution by a thought police so stupid they don’t realize they’re delegitimizing the very institutions of the state. Still, the BBC gave it their best shot, concluding their report thus: “Correspondents say his Freedom Party (PVV), which has nine MPs in the lower house of parliament, has built its popularity largely by tapping into the fear and resentment of Muslim immigrants.”

Gotcha. This democracy business is all very well, but let’s face it, the people are saps, gullible boobs, racist morons, knuckle-dragging f–kwits. One-man-one-vote is fine in theory, but next thing you know some slicker’s “tapping into” the morons’ “fears and resentments” and cleaning up at the polls.

Strange how it always comes back to a contempt for the people. Whenever the electorate departs from the elite’s pieties, whether in the Netherlands or in Massachusetts last month, it’s because some wily demagogue like, er, Scott Brown has been playing on the impressionable hicks’ “fears and resentments.” To the statist bullies at Canada’s “Human Rights” Commissions, their powers to regulate speech are necessary to prevent hate-mongers like me tapping into the fears and resentments of the Dominion’s millions of birdbrained boobs. Yes, that would be you, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schmoe of 22 Dufferin Gardens. Sure, you’ve voted for the Liberals every year since Expo, but c’mon, in your heart you know even you might be…susceptible…impressionable.

In the old days—divine right of kings, rule by patrician nobility—it was easier. But today’s establishment is obliged to pay at least lip service to popular sovereignty. So it has to behave more artfully. You’ll still have your vote; it’s just that the guy you wanted to give it to is on trial, and his platform’s been criminalized.

To return to where we came in, what does it mean when the Ministry of Justice proudly declares that the truth is no defence? When the law stands in explicit opposition to the truth, freeborn peoples should stand in opposition to the law. Because, as the British commentator Pat Condell says, “When the truth is no defence, there is no defence”—and what we are witnessing is a heresy trial. The good news is that the Openbaar Ministerie is doing such a grand job with its pilot program of apostasy prosecutions you’ll barely notice when sharia is formally adopted.

Video of Dutch victims of Islam

This video starts out with information readers of Vlad certainly know. But it goes into quite a list of victims of Muslim violence in the Netherlands. I say Muslim, because it would appear that the victims were largely people who did not observe mandatory Muslim behaviour codes. Women who dress in Western styles, Dutch for example, or men who objected to the increasingly intolerant and Islamic codes that are permeating Dutch society.

Worth the time to watch. Thank you The Blonde Satan

Dhimmi Dutch pay the Jizyah

Europe News… GOUDA, 17/02/10 – Gouda local council has given criminal Moroccan teenagers money to stop causing trouble. “We wanted to prevent matters from escalating further,” said the council yesterday.

Some dozens of young Moroccans waylaid and robbed passers-by in December. They were ‘bought off’ by the municipality to keep them off the street around New Year’s Eve. They received a combined 2,250 euros, shoved into an envelope, to organise a party, De Telegraaf reported yesterday.

Gouda has confirmed that it paid the troublemakers. “We wanted to prevent maters from escalating further. The youngsters themselves had presented a budget for the party. They had to say how much money they needed for hiring a disc-jockey, a bite to eat and drinks. For us, it was important that it should be quiet in the district around the turn of the year.”

According to the council, it had to act quickly. “Although the money was handed over in cash, it was well-spent. Everyone was happy afterwards. We also gave five Moroccans a gift voucher for a book shop afterwards as a thank-you,” says a spokeswoman.

Pim – You are an extremely inferior human being

Here is a historic TV debate between the murdered Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn, and a socialist member of the Dutch government who chose to demonize and insult his opponent in debate rather than examine his ideas. I strongly recommend the following document, a speech that was read at Pim’s memorial service sometime after he was shot by a leftist sympathetic to Islam.
