Report on Acid attacks in Pakistan.

Not for the feint of heart.

This shows that it is not just man on woman but is indeed an Islamic problem, in terms of the way entire cultures perceive the worth and role of women.

Actress attacked in Paris with petrol and fire by Muslims

From The Telegraph

An actress was doused with petrol in Paris in an attack thought to be related to her role in a feminist play she wrote about Algerian women.

The 45-year-old, who goes by the name of Rayhana, said two men approached her while she was walking to the theatre on Tuesday, grabbed her from behind, slapped her face and poured petrol on her. “I could smell the petrol. A flame brushed my hat and then I ran,” she said.

She has since been placed under police protection and the investigation into the attack is being led by the anti-terrorism unit, which has tackled many cases involving Muslim extremists.

Rayhana is starring in At My Age, I Still Hide to Have a Smoke, a play she wrote about a group of women who chat about their lives during a visit to an Algiers spa. The sell-out play features unflattering views on Muslim men.

In the weeks leading up to Tuesday’s attack, the actress said she had received threats and complained to police.

Honour killings, Finland and elsewhere.

Here is a Vladtepesblog and Tundra Tabloids original. The heavy lifting was Tundra who translated this video, and VTB titled and edited it. Here is a rather excellent example of the train wreck that occurs when political correctness meets Islam. Despite the overwhelming evidence this 12 minute documentary shows about Islamic violence and dominance of women, Finnish state TV felt the need to have 2 minutes of propaganda about how Islam does not condone violence and especially against women.

Here at Vlad we decided to take that bit out and instead, put in a few verses from Koran and Hadith about women that explain the actual facts rather better.

France muses law toward Muslim extremists- ditch the burqa or face hefty fines

Islamic Myth#1431: The burqa is about modesty.

We have been told for years now that the burqa is a symbol of modesty. My arse it is. The burqa symbolizes extremism. Young, western women who don the garb do so only to publicly illustrate a political solidarity with their extremist Islamic brethren- to show support for sharia inside France whose advocates weekly vie for dominance through open and deliberate agitation in Paris neighbourhoods. Many of these girly fools have never set foot in a Muslim nation, nor I bet could point one out on a world map, let alone bother to ask their own mothers why many of them never ‘chose’ to wear the walking coffin in their homeland(s). For those women in France who are forced to wear a burqa by their intellectually impotent men folk, perhaps they may be able to finally take the step toward freedom knowing that the Republic stands behind them. As for Muslim men who seek French citizenship and whose wives wear the burqa?– they are not welcome in the country.

MPs will vote on the proposal this month after a long impassioned debate over the merits of outlawing the burka and niqab.

Jean-François Copé, parliamentary leader of President Nicolas Sarkozy’s UMP group, said the 750 euro fine would apply to anyone whose face is “fully covered in public”.

Wearing either would be tolerated only in exceptional circumstances, such as “cultural events or carnivals,” he added.

The bill proposes introducing an even heavier penalty for anyone who forces a woman to wear the full veil, Mr Copé said in an interview with the Le Figaro magazine. Continue Reading →

Canadian university campus and out of fashion views:

From The International Free Press Society

There are 17 of these videos in this series or more and all can be viewed here. I have not seen them all yet and I am willing to bet there are better moments on some of the videos than the moments that were picked on this. However this short segment gives a pretty clear indication what will happen to you if you attempt to give a calm reasoned speech for a point of view currently out of fashion at a Canadian university. In fact, in Calgary worse has happened including harassment by the police by those who would hold openly anti laissez-faire views on abortion.

Dr. Wafa Sultan speaks on Islam and women

Sometimes I think genius is the ability to recognize the painfully obvious. Courage is perhaps the ability to say what you recognize out loud. Not always, but sometimes. Wafa Sultan I think shows both. I hope all women born to Islam get a chance to hear her and think about these words.

Tulay Goren honour killing: When tolerance is deadly

From The Times Online

>Eleanor Mills

Over the past few months I have spent time at the Old Bailey watching the trial of Mehmet Goren, a father who murdered his 15-year-old daughter because she defied him and ran off with the man she loved.

In the small courtroom, full of bewigged barristers, police officers and Turkish interpreters, I watched as the dark underbelly of multiculturalism unfolded in front of me. The main witness against Mehmet was his wife, Hanim, who broke all the laws of her family’s strict Kurdish culture to testify against her husband. Last week he was convicted and sentenced to life with a minimum of 22 years, but his two brothers, who were accused of conspiracy to murder alongside him, were acquitted.

Hanim and her surviving daughter, Nuray, are terrified of what the wider family might do to them in retribution; the police are taking the threat seriously — panic buttons have been installed at their home. The terrible vengeance of the thwarted father is like a medieval saga but it is playing out in modern London.

It was in January 1999 that Goren strangled or smothered Tulay. The day before she disappeared, her father told her eight-year-old brother Tuncay to say goodbye to his sister “for ever”. When Hanim came home the next day, her husband had a wound on his hand and scratches on his face. For the first time in their married life he had washed his own clothes; his stained shirt was lying on a radiator. Hanim saw that the garden had been dug up “like a ploughed field”; two knives and the washing line were missing. Tulay’s body has not been found.

Mehmet had been in prison twice before they left Turkey. He regularly terrorised his family. Despite being convinced that her husband had killed Tulay, Hanim continued to wash, clean, cook and fulfil her other wifely duties. It must have been hell, but Hanim spoke no English, lived in a strange city and under Kurdish custom was her husband’s chattel. Physically she may have been in north London, but inside her house and her community she lived in feudal southeastern Turkey. How can we allow this to happen? Continue Reading →

Whose Law?

Here is a lecture by a woman in Austria, a country with some of the most extreme anti freedom of speech laws in the western world, about Islam and its consequences. Below the video, an article taken from Gates of Vienna on Elisabeth, the speaker in the video, and aspects of this case. Elisabeth was charged with a hate crime on the day this lecture was given.

Whose Law?

by Baron Bodissey

Elisabeth Sabaditsch-WolffMost readers are familiar with Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, the Austrian anti-jihad activist who is facing a “hate speech” charge for one of her recent presentations on Islam.

The evening after her “Islamophobic” speech was publicized in the Austrian press — on November 26th, 2009 — Elisabeth gave the third in a series of lectures on Islam. Considering that her previous presentation was the one that brought down the “hate speech” charge on her head, Elisabeth’s lecture that night drew a lot of attention.

The video below shows the first part of her lecture about sharia law, which was the final seminar on the topic presented in Vienna. Listen to what she says and see if there’s anything that’s untrue, or inflammatory, or that passes the bounds of reasonable opinion. Like Geert Wilders, she is being targeted for speaking up about matters that the political elite prefer to keep under the rug.

During her presentation Elisabeth refers to the media gathered outside the venue who want her to make a statement:

Feminism: what jihadists fear most.

From The National Post

What jihadists oppose most

Sure, radical Islamists are upset by infidels and the existence of a Jewish state. But their biggest gripe of all? Feminism

George Jonas, National Post Published: Wednesday, December 09, 2009

In an interview made available on the Internet last month ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2wvqDfitLY), Dr. Hamid Tawfik, a Cairo-born physician who describes himself as a former jihadist, is asked why he came close to becoming a terrorist. He replies that it was the influence of “a certain [fundamentalist] form of religious teaching” he encountered while at university. “It was not poverty,” he explains. “I came from a wealthy family. It wasn’t lack of education. I was in medical school, my father was an orthopedic surgeon, my mother was a French teacher, so it wasn’t any of this …It was basically a religious form of teaching that instructs us to use violence with non-Muslims or with Muslims who do not conform to our value system.”

Later in the interview, in answer to the question of who is the “enemy” –is it the West, any non-Muslim, the Jews –Dr. Tawfik is unequivocal:

“The West, but in particular, women’s rights. Women’s rights was the first enemy for us.”

He adds that it’s strange feminism should have been the biggest gripe of jihadists, but it was. He is emphatic that this is why, wherever a “radical [Islamist] group” acquires power, the first thing it does is suppress women.

“First thing, before anything else, they tell women not to go out, to wear the hijab …”

If Dr. Tawfik is accurate, as I suspect he is, what lessons can we draw from it?

None, I’m afraid, that we could translate into immediate, practical policies. Since we don’t endow universities just to cut jihadists off at the pass, we won’t stop educating people, or stop trying to make them prosper, just because education and prosperity don’t prevent them from becoming jihadists. By the same token, we won’t exclude women from equal partnership in modern society just to assuage the feelings of Taliban types. Continue Reading →

Ohio: Judge: Christian’s ‘arranged’ Islamic marriage invalid

This in my opinion is a significant victory over the dark forces of Islam and it’s ambition to destory individualism and western human rights gains. Much more so than banning clothes or building styles. I have always objected to the term ‘arrnaged’ or ‘forced marriage’ when it comes to Islam. In fact in these cases it is not marriage at all. The term placates western people but it is sexual and reproductive slavery and nothing better than that in many instances, perhaps enough to call it the rule, certainly in many Islamic nations and amongst a large number of Muslims in western nations.

In this descision, a judge clearly agrees with this or similar reasoning and has nullified a marriage forced on a young girl. Surely this will be a precednet setting thing so that in future, any girl can walk out of a marriage with no obligations etc. unless it can be shown she acted out of free will. This is a much bigger deal than it seems to be making on the various radars. Thanks to WND.COM for this one.

A judge in Ohio ruled a marriage arranged by a Muslim father for his 17-year-old daughter who now has converted to Christianity isn’t valid, clearing her of accusations she made false statements in applying for a marriage license with the man who now is her husband.

The little-reported case developed in Ohio, where Larry Crain, senior counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice, argued on behalf of his client, identified only as “Nishan.”

Nishan was married last month to a man she began dating this year when she converted to Christianity, the ACLJ said.

She didn’t reveal her conversion to her “devout Muslim family members” until just before the marriage because she feared what they might do.

When her father discovered her plans, he allegedly tried to assault her and then filed a claim that she had falsified her marriage license application because of the earlier arranged marriage.

The ACLJ explained, “Nishan’s marriage was arranged by her father during a trip to Karachi, Pakistan, in May 2007 following her graduation from high school. Three days after the ‘nikah’ ceremony, Nishan and her father returned to the United States.

“She remained confused about the ceremony conducted during her trip to Pakistan and later took precautionary steps to annul her vows by preparing an affidavit for the U.S. consulate in Pakistan in August of 2007,” the legal team said. “She gave her affidavit to her father who assured her he would send the necessary paperwork to the consulate. Her family never again mentioned her alleged Paksitani husband and Nishan believed that all necessary steps had been taken to annul any alleged marriage vows.”

However, her father’s anger over her conversion to Christianity and her marriage included the statement she had falsified her marriage license application in the U.S. Continue Reading →

Violence against Afghan, Pakistani women escalates in 2009

It’s a shame that the activists didn’t take the extra step and blame Islam which prescribes these treatments of women. h/t Islam in Europe

From The Finchannel

The FINANCIAL — KABUL, Human rights activists have noted a large-scale growth in violence toward Afghan women, hundreds of whom are beaten, intimidated or sexually assaulted by men daily.

According to figures from an Afghan independent committee on human rights published on Wednesday, 1,700 cases of violence toward women were officially registered since the end of March 2009. Last year, a total of more than 2,000 incidents were officially recorded.

International Day on the Elimination of Violence against Women is observed November 25.

According to the latest statistics released in a separate biannual report by Aurat Foundation, a total of 4,514 incidents of violence against women were reported in neighboring Pakistan in four provinces and the capital of Islamabad during January to June 2009.

According to the Aurat report, there were 691 registered cases of murder, 293 cases of honor killing, 1,046 cases of abduction, 332 cases of domestic violence, 388 cases of suicide and 466 cases of rape and gang rape.

According to the human rights activists’ publication, the number of suicides among women has also grown. In Afghanistan’s Herat province alone, there were 65 registered suicide attempts by women setting themselves on fire, the majority of whom died. Over the last week, there were five such incidents.

The activists believe that many Afghan women suffer from domestic violence, social disorder, unemployment, lack of medical services, drug addiction, hunger and chronic illness.

The activists named the armed conflict that has been going on for some 30 years in Afghanistan as one of the main factors for suicide and violence within the family.

Turkish apostate of Islam in Germany

Here is a nice little film clip from what I believe is a German TV woman’s network about a girl who left her religious Turkish Muslim family and integrated into greater German society. Personally, I wouldn’t sell her life insurance if I was Lloyd’s of London. But she has a great attitude anyway.
