BBC notices antisemitism in Europe by Muslims.

By the time the Beeb notices it, one wonders how bad things really are. In any case, this is quite a good bit by the BBC. I look forward to part II.

The video’s I added, (the BBC show was radio and hence, audio only) are nearly random but a few of them are bang on context and one video is specifically the one referred to by a speaker, when he mentions how hatred of Jewish people is specifically taught as part of Islamic faith, I found and added the video of an Egyptian state TV Imam saying exactly that.

I hope to be able to do part II this week after they broadcast it.

Pakistani imam offers reward for murder of Christian woman

Accused of blasphemy, but actually acquitted by a Pak court as I understand the story. Frankly, blasphemy isn’t a real charge so I don’t really care if she is innocent or guilty as its a non crime anyway and even if it was, random people offering a reward for her murder, well that doesn’t even happen to people like Clifford Olden or Charles Manson in real nations. Also, I have a pretty good idea what would happen to me if I offered for example, $50.00 to anyone who kills this imam who put the bounty on this woman. And frankly, rightfully so. Interpol would be after me. So why do these guys get away with it every single time?

Thanks again FOOMF for this great find. I owe ya man.

Muslim cleric issues reward for anyone who kills Christian woman for insulting Islam

Pakistani cleric puts bounty on Christian woman’s head

A hardline, pro-Taliban Pakistani Muslim cleric on Friday offered a reward for anyone who kills a Christian woman sentenced to death by a court on charges of insulting Islam.

Christian woman sentenced to death in Pakistan 'for blasphemy'
Asia Bibi has been sentenced to death ‘for blasphemy’

The sentence against Asia Bibi has renewed debate about Pakistan’s blasphemy law which critics say is used to persecute religious minorities, fan religious extremism and settle personal scores. Non-Muslim minorities account for roughly 4 per cent of Pakistan’s 170 million population.

Maulana Yousef Qureshi, the imam of a major mosque in the northwestern city of Peshawar, offered a £3,700 reward and warned the government against any move to abolish or change the blasphemy law.

“We will strongly resist any attempt to repeal laws which provide protection to the sanctity of Holy Prophet Mohammad,” Qureshi told a rally of hardline Islamists.”Any one who kills Asia will be given 500,000 rupees in reward from Masjid Mohabat Khan,” he said referring to his mosque.

While Qureshi is not believed to have a wide following, comments by clerics can provoke a violent response and complicate government efforts to combat religious extremism and militancy.

Qureshi, a cleric who has been leading congregation at the 17th century Mohabat Khan mosque for decades, later told Reuters he was determined to see her killed.

“We expect her to be hanged and if she is not hanged then we will ask mujahideen and Taliban to kill her.”

Ms Bibi, a 45-year-old mother of four, is the first woman to be sentenced to death under the blasphemy law.

Blasphemy convictions are common in mainly Muslim Pakistan. Although the death sentence has never been carried out as most convictions are thrown out on appeal, angry mobs and fanatics have killed many people accused of blasphemy in the past.

In 2006, Qureshi and his followers announced rewards amounting to over $1 million for anyone who killed Danish cartoonists who drew caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad that had enraged Muslims worldwide.

After her conviction, Ms Bibi appealed to President Asif Ali Zardari to pardon her, saying she had been wrongly accused by neighbours due to a personal dispute.

Last week, a government minister said an initial inquiry into the case showed she had not committed blasphemy. The Lahore High Court last month prevented Mr Zardari from granting a pardon and ruled that the High Court should be allowed to decide her appeal.

“No president, no parliament and no government has any right to interfere in the commandants of Islam. Islamic punishment will be implemented at all costs,” said Qureshi.

OREGAN POLICE SEARCH HOME NEAR TORCHED MOSQUE…….

US police search home near burned Islamic centre

CA.News: CORVALLIS, Ore. – Police have searched a home near the Islamic centre in Oregon, that was torched two days after a Somalia-born teenager was arrested in a plot to kill thousands at a Portland Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

Court documents say 24-year-old Cody Crawford and his mother live in the home 200 feet (60 metres) from the Salman Alfarisi Islamic Center. The search was conducted Monday, a day after someone tried to burn the place of worship.

The FBI says no one has been arrested.

Court documents show Crawford’s arrest record includes accusations of criminal mischief, assault and spitting food at a deputy while in jail.

The FBI has been looking into whether the arson was in retaliation for the alleged bomb plot at Portland’s Pioneer Courthouse Square last month. The suspect in that case sometimes worshipped at the centre.

Turkey pounds its chest at Israel

Two news items where Turkey trash talks Israel today:

Turkish President Says Any Cooperation Between Israel And NATO Out Of Question

From Turkish Weekly:

Friday, 3 December 2010

PARIS (A.A) – Turkey’s President Abdullah Gul said that any cooperation between Israel and NATO was out of question.

In an interview with Euronews, Gul said that the missile defense system by NATO was related to only NATO members, stating that Israel was not a member of NATO.

“Any cooperation between Israel and NATO is out of question. Israel cannot use NATO’s means,” he said.

Asked whether or not Turkey still considered Israel a friend and allied country after its raid on Mavi Marmara, Gul said, “Israel’s raid changed many things. Israeli army attacked on an aid flotilla in international waters and killed many people. It is impossible to forget it. A country which is subject to international law and a member of the UN should have fulfilled requirements of the international law. Israel did not compensate it.” President Gul said that Israel lost Turkey’s friendship.

Nine people, including eight Turks and one U.S. citizen of Turkish descent, were killed when Israeli forces raided a Gaza-bound aid flotilla in international waters on May 31. Around 30 people were wounded in the attack. The incident cast a serious blow to Turkey-Israeli relations. Turkey demanded an official apology from Israel, urging it to pay damages for the victims and lift the blockade over Gaza.

Gul expressed his reaction to axis shift discussions regarding Turkey and said, “all these things are wrong. Turkey’s course is clear. Turkey is working to reach the most developed democratic standards and economic standards. The country amends its constitution and laws. Turkey pursues an all-around policy.”

In regard to Turkey’s approach toward Iranian nuclear issue, Gul said that Turkey was sensitive to an issue concerning its neighbor.

Gul said that Turkey had a sound determination regarding its EU accession process.

2. “Turkey and Israel are no longer friends” Euronews:

Turkey is transforming. Ankara is developing economic and diplomatic relations with its neighbours, prompting many in the global community to talk of “axis shift”. Turkish President Abdullah Gül has given a candid interview to euronews mapping out where his country might be heading next.

Euronews: Turkey is developing and extending its relations in the region and this has led a flurry of debate in the West. Where is the country heading? Is Turkey turning away from the West? Is it shifting on its axis? Continue Reading →

Global Warming Summit in Cancun Opens with Prayer to Pagan Goddess Ixchel

From Newsbusters:

During a congressional hearing in March 2009, manmade global warming skeptic Rep. John Shimkus (R-Ill.) referred to God’s promise in the the book of Genesis to never again flood the entire Earth as one reason why he is dismissive of global warming alarmists.

“The earth will end only when God declares its time to be over. Man will not destroy this earth. This earth will not be destroyed by a flood,” Shimkus insisted, after quoting from Genesis 8:22.

Ever since then, the media have gone back from time to time to scoff at Shimkus’s statement, citing his religious beliefs as reason he should not considered credible when it comes to challenging climate change science.

But if the media think that’s fair game, shouldn’t they apply the same standard to religious language employed by climate change alarmists like Christiana Figueres?

After all, the executive secretary of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change literally offered up a prayer to a pagan moon goddess on Monday during her opening statement at a UN climate conference convened in Cancun, Mexico.

Here’s how Washington Post reporter Juliet Eilperin reported the story at the paper’s Post Carbon blog on Monday, November 29 (emphasis mine):

MULTI-CULTI EPIC FAIL: WHY OFFICIAL BI-LINGUAL COUNTRIES WILL NEVER HAVE A SINGULAR IDENTITY……..

Tundra Tabloids covers an issue that should resonate with Canadians.

The Finnish state broadcaster YLE2 this past Tuesday (30.11.2010) aired a live broadcast of a studio discussion group on “mandatory Swedish”, a topic that flares up now and then in the Finnish media. Swedish was made the 2nd official language of Finland and its status is recognized in the Finnish constitution. In the 70?s the learning of the Swedish language was made compulsory in schools, so the language of 5% of the Finnish population was forced upon the remaining 95%, and the angst over that decision has remained ever since.

The fact remains that there exists two distinct identities in Finland, predictably, based upon the languages of both groups. Such “identity” tension will always remain between the two groups because each side will always act, in what’s deemed to be, in their own self interests. It’s a highly logical, and as I said earlier, a predictable outcome.

Now add to that mix the thought of increased mass numbers of immigrants with a plethora of languages who will be demanding their own rights to use their own languages in Finnish society. But the Finnish-Swedish speakers have a plan, a few of their number (in the live broadcast) announced their party’s intention to grab as many foreigners as possible and steer them into speaking Swedish. They made a case for the Finnish government to get involved and make it possible for immigrants to choose which language to study and to identify themselves with.

One of the Finnish-Swedish participants mentioned the fact that in the late 1800?s, Jews who were allowed to immigrate to Finland by the Russian Czar, learned Swedish, so there’s history on their side of immigrants learning Swedish and integrating into society. But what was left unmentioned, was these Jews spoke Yiddish, a dialect of German and they found it much easier to learn than the host language (at first), and that every Finnish Jew is now fluent in three languages, Finnish, Swedish and English.

It’s just in the coastal areas of Finland and in the island archipelago of Åland that Finnish-Swedes are not learning Finnish, and for the most part, have a completely different identity to that of the Finnish speakers that make up 95& of the country. So now the party of the Swedish speaking minority is actively trying to pull immigrants to its party which explains the the Swedish speaking Minister of Immingration and of Europe, Astrid Thors, actions over the last few years.

This is bound to drive an even deeper wedge between the Swedish speakers and the majority of Finnish speaking Finns. It just highlights the fact that different language groups will do whatever possible in securing their future, which creates in the end, a divided society with competing goals. Hardly a recipe for a cohesive, functioning society. The video of the event (in Finnish) is still available here, for the next 30 some days. KGS

Finn-Swedes as a percentage of the Finnish population

NOTE: If multiculturalism fails miserably to produce a joint identity with people of shared history, how in the hell is it going to work with vast numbers of immigrants coming from the Middle East?

Some Swedish-Speakers ‘Foreigners’ in Own Country

Though not always in the public eye, Finland is home to many Finns who face a linguistic barrier in many aspects of their daily life. Some of the country’s 300,000 Swedish-speakers don’t speak any Finnish at all, leading to an array of difficulties.

Within the Åland Islands, Ostrobothnia and the Turku archipelago, there are pockets where Finnish is hardly spoken and society is wholly Swedish-speaking. Continue Reading →

Why Are Rich White “Left-Wingers” Megaphones For The Third-World Far Right?

Terry Glavin does what geniuses do. Point out the painfully obvious that everyone else missed. H/T Father Grace

For some long while, what was once a merely subtle pattern has been a thing so predictable you can set your watch by it. In Afghanistan, the “troops out” and “talk to the Taliban” slogans emerged on the crypto-fascist and Islamist far-right. In Canada, these slogans became the default position of the “left,” up to and including the official position of the New Democratic Party. On the Israel-Palestine question, the politics counselled by Hamas and Hezbollah – the politics of the Islamist far-right – now form the basis of “left-wing” activism (most recently, see “Fascists on Campus”, for example).

The pattern repeats itself today in The Guardian, which everyone in the English-speaking world is expected to apprehend as a clarion of proper left-wing analysis. Simon Tisdall writes: “Pakistan was already under the American hammer before the WikiLeaks crisis blew. But leaked US diplomatic cables published by the Guardian show the extraordinary extent to which Pakistan is in danger of becoming a mere satrapy of imperial Washington. The US assault on Pakistani sovereignty, which is how these developments are widely viewed in the country, is multipronged. . .”

Well, no, not unless “widely viewed” is meant as a euphemism for the Guardian view – the “left-wing” view of rich white people, which now precisely echoes and accurately reflects the lumpen view incited by right-wing Pakistani chauvinists.

“There is a deep abyss between the perceptions of the people of Waziristan, the most drone-hit area, and the wider Pakistani society on the other side of the River Indus. For the latter, the US drone attacks on Waziristan are a violation of Pakistani’s sovereignty,” writes Farhat Taj. “I have been discussing the issue of drone attacks with hundreds of people of Waziristan. They see the US drone attacks as their liberators from the clutches of the terrorists into which, they say, their state has wilfully thrown them.”

What do intelligent writers from the Pakistani Left have to say about Tisdall’s “dangerous” Yankee-imperialist incursions on Pakistan’s sovereignty? Azizullah Khan Khetran writes: “We should not heed rightist propaganda and empty slogans. Let the drones hover over the terrorists and terrorise them.” Further: “Civil society in Pakistan is well aware of the fact that the drones are cleansing us of terrorists but sometimes they fail to resist the temptation to speak out against them. This is caused by the extreme right trumpeting warnings of US encroachments on our sovereignty.”

Living in Ottawa? Support these guys December 7th

From The Blog Of Walker:

Show your support for Mark and Connie Fournier

If you’re in Ottawa, you might want to think about showing up in court for this. Via my inbox:

I am sending this email to my friends who are in the Ottawa area, and/or who are bloggers who might have readers in the Ottawa area because I am hoping to get people to come out to our Motion hearing on December 7th, and I hope that you will be able to come, or, at least, to help us spread the word.

In this Motion, Richard Warman will, once again, attempt to get personal information on Free Dominion “John Does” that he claims have defamed him. We intend to make some very important arguments about the culture of the internet and the context of forums and blogs that makes them different from other, “publications”.

We would REALLY appreciate having a lot of seats filled with our supporters at this hearing as this will be the first time the new law that was made in our Divisional Court hearing will be tested, and we think the precedent is going to be extremely important for freedom of speech on the internet, as it could raise the bar significantly as to what should be considered “defamatory”.

The hearing will take place at 9am on Monday, December 7th at the Court House at 161 Elgin St. in Ottawa.

Please pass this message along to anyone you think might be able to come.

And, if you are the praying type…please remember us on Tuesday!

Connie

Muslims protest Israel in Holland.

Here is the logical conclusion of multiculturalism. If you let in everyone and give all peoples value sets an equal weight, then the most numerous and least tolerant among us will dominate. This is a no brainer.  In fact it is embarrassing to actually type this out, as if anyone alive wasn’t able to reason this out. But 2 generations now or more of politically correct, leftist indoctrination has made this obvious truth a heretical act to say out loud.

The next logical consequence in what people commonly think of as a democracy, as since the death of civics classes in schools people imagine that democracy is simply a system where idiots vote on things (and not any of the fundamental things like institutions and rules that make a nation a democratic one) politicians are going to have to set policy not based on what is true, not based on what is just or even what is good for the continuance of liberal democracy, but will have to degrade into mob rule and the thin pretence of democracy.

I think this video is one good illustration of that.

NASA-Funded Research Discovers Life Built With Toxic Chemical

It has always been my suspicion that life is more likely than not. Deep sea life is a pretty solid indicator of that. This is a pretty sound confirmation as well.

From NASA:

Dec. 02, 2010

RELEASE : 10-320

NASA-Funded Research Discovers Life Built With Toxic Chemical

WASHINGTON — NASA-funded astrobiology research has changed the fundamental knowledge about what comprises all known life on Earth.

Researchers conducting tests in the harsh environment of Mono Lake in California have discovered the first known microorganism on Earth able to thrive and reproduce using the toxic chemical arsenic. The microorganism substitutes arsenic for phosphorus in its cell components.

“The definition of life has just expanded,” said Ed Weiler, NASA’s associate administrator for the Science Mission Directorate at the agency’s Headquarters in Washington. “As we pursue our efforts to seek signs of life in the solar system, we have to think more broadly, more diversely and consider life as we do not know it.”

This finding of an alternative biochemistry makeup will alter biology textbooks and expand the scope of the search for life beyond Earth. The research is published in this week’s edition of Science Express. Continue Reading →
