  1. The Air Force is experimenting with a hyper velocity drone that can reach any place on earth in a couple of hours, they might be used a launching platforms for the “flying crowbars” which is the name I heard them called a decade or two ago.

  2. Richard, that gadget can send the madhi quickly back to hell as soon as he climbs out of his well. After Obama’s single term, of course.

  3. You got it, and if they can build enough of them you could take out entire armored divisions by adding a small computer that will look for the tank that is on their hard disk. Or you can use GPS homing or the laser homing we use on some bombs, I hear rumors that we have a lot of SF type weapons under development, or ready for deployment. The new 25mm “rifle” that fires a grenade that explodes over the heads of the enemy. And then a couple of years ago the Brits said they had managed to develop an anti-Gravity unit that was powered by Dark Energy, derived from the Dark Matter that makes up the missing weight of the Universe. Those reports were out there for about 2 days and then stopped with no paper or website I visit saying anymore about them. If you want to speculate about some cool weapons read David Weber, David Drake and John Ringo. As far as I know we aren’t close to most of the ones they talk about but who knows what is going on at Area 51 and other closed research facilities.

  4. Here is a true story about intelligence, just before WWII started a Jewish exile in Britain published the entire order of battle for Nazi Germany (a listing of what officers and NCO’s were assigned to what units). The Nazi’s lured him to Switzerland and kidnapped him, they then tortured him to find out who the traitor was, there wasn’t one, the man had gone to the British libraries and read the German papers making notes on the announcements of officers, NCO’s and enlisted personal being assigned to certain units. (All nations release this data to local papers) The German intel people said that he was the best natural intelligence man they had ever seen. Read SF, pay attention to news announcements and you will be surprised at the way things will occasionally ring bells and tie together with what you have been reading in the hard science, science fiction.

  5. Actually the Stratfor book, The Future of War I think its called, has a pretty excellent history of weapons and war and details what is possible now and what is in the immediate future. Quite a good read.

  6. I will have to see if I can lay my hands on it, I don’t know that the Air Force is working to mate the flying crowbars with the hyper-velocity drone but it seems to be a good combination. Just as if Bush II ordered the Army to reopen the Delta Clipper research, this was a single stage returnable reusable launch vehicle. The Clintons canceled the program after a crash of the remotely controlled half sized test model. It used off the shelf technology and was suppose to reduce launch costs to somewhere between$10.00 to $50.00 per pound. Granted it couldn’t carry as much weight as the shuttle but it was suppose to be reusable within 24 hours of landing. I really hope the research on this vehicle was restarted.

  7. Yes. The best way to stop terrorism is to kill milions of innocent people.

Good job Vlad Tepes. Good job.

  8. Muslims are bad guys:

Are you learning disabled? These are weapons that target hardened underground facilities and do not even explode. They would PREVENT the deaths of millions of people. I suggest you take a remedial reading course and take a few less sanctimony pills before breakfast.

  9. Flying crowbars aren’t WMD’s, they are weapons that are aimed at one specific target and have a very small footprint, if we had some major space presence and could move asteroids around then you would have a kinetic kill weapon that would be a WMD.

The problem you are having is the one the left always has, lack of familiarity with weapons and their effects, and a visceral hatred of any person or nation defending themselves. Pardon me if I think you need to take Eeyore’s advice.
