PARIS – FRENCH intelligence officers have arrested 12 suspected Islamic extremists in a series of raids in Paris and the surrounding region, judicial officials told AFP on Tuesday.
The detainees were picked up over the weekend and on Monday before being remanded in custody under anti-terrorism legislation, which gives police up to four days to question them, one of the officials said.
The magistrate Thierry Fragnoli ordered the arrests and is, according to the website of news magazine L’Express, hunting a network that recruits militants in France and sends them to fight in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Officers from the French domestic intelligence service DCRI carried out the raids. Some of those arrested were Tunisian-born, the official said. — AFP
South Korea will formally blame North Korea for launching a torpedo that sank a South Korean warship March 26, killing 46 sailors, The Washington Post reported May 18, citing unnamed U.S. and East Asian officials. South Korea concluded that the warship was sunk by a torpedo identical to a North Korean torpedo previously obtained by South Korea after investigators from Australia, Britain, Sweden and the United States helped piece together portions of the sunken ship.

When a Saudi religious policeman questioned a young couple walking together in an amusement park he got a painful surprise – when the woman suddenly attacked him.
The officer, from the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, asked the pair to confirm their identities and relationship to one another.

Today the English Defence League Website has been suspended, apparently because of an article that describes, using suras from the Quran, how Islam looks on the Kuffar (non-Muslims). This latest act of censorship is reminiscent of the way Geert Wilders’ short film, Fitna, has been demonised for revealing truth. Wilders juxtaposed Quranic quotes with acts of terror, the article in question did not even go that far. It seems that the thought police are about their work again, suppressing debate, denying reality, and bolstering established interests.
Apparently the reason provided for this blatant act of censorship was that the article ‘contravenes UK racism laws’. If this is the case then it means one of two things, that the Quran itself contravenes UK racism laws or Islam has an exemption from UK racism laws, and is treated as a special case. Since the Quran is still available for sale on the shelves of UK bookshops it must mean that the latter is true. That being so effectively means that the UK is already under a form of Sharia law which demands that Islam is above criticism and completely outside the realm of rational debate. When the Racial and Religious Hatred Act was put before Parliament the British people were assured that freedom of expression would not be a casualty. It would appear that the British people were seriously misled and that the Racial and Religious Hatred Act was nothing other than a Sharia enabling act designed specifically to usher in a period of Islamic rule. The formation of a Con-Dem coalition has left millions of British voters disenfranchised – no-one voted for this unworkable hybrid.
So straight talking UKIP is offering disaffected Conservative, Lib Dem and Labour voters the chance of a FREE year’s membership to give voice to their discontent and a chance to show the old failed parties that you believe in honesty and transparency in politics, not shabby deals made behind closed doors.
Members receive personal invitations to area events in advance, a regular digital newsletter, and access to an exclusive members’ online resource and forum. However, members joining under the FREE scheme, do not have internal party voting rights.
I dunno what to say about this. It’s like the O admin out clever’d itself. It knows exactly who what and why these terrorist attacks are taking place, but has conjured a myth that it can be defeated by stolidly refusing to admit the facts on the ground.
For the record, this has been tried, and it has never, ever, worked.
Iran Nuclear Swap Deal Signed – Original Document
May 17, 2010 | 0944 GMT
Final document as obtained by CNNTurk from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
JOINT DECLARATION BY IRAN, TURKEY AND BRAZIL
(17 May 2010)
Having met in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran, the undersigned have agreed on the
following Declaration:
1. We reaffirm our commitment to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear
Weapons and in accordance with the related articles of the NPT, recall the right of all
State Parties, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, to develop research, production
and use of nuclear energy (as well as nuclear fuel cycle including enrichment
activities) for peaceful purposes without discrimination.
2. We express our strong conviction that we have the opportunity now to begin a forward
looking process that will create a positive, constructive, non-confrontational
atmosphere leading to an era of interaction and cooperation.
3. We believe that the nuclear fuel exchange is instrumental in initiating cooperation in
different areas, especially with regard to peaceful nuclear cooperation including
nuclear power plant and research reactors construction.
4. Based on this point the nuclear fuel exchange is a starting point to begin cooperation
and a positive constructive move forward among nations. Such a move should lead to
positive interaction and cooperation in the field of peaceful nuclear activities replacing
and avoiding all kinds of confrontation through refraining from measures, actions and
rhetorical statements that would jeopardize Iran’s rights and obligations under the
NPT.

“As I’ve previously suggested, George W. Bush’s “you’re with us or against us” had serious flaws, but Obama’s “if you’re against us we’re with you” is worse.”
Hypocrisy thy name is the Canadian Jewish Congress. The CJC is in a lather because the Toronto Police Services Board listed “non-jewish shikse” as a new category of victim group. Shiksa is a pejorative term for gentile women. We had fun with that in my earlier post.
I speculated that the CJC was up in arms over the emergent Shiksa Rights Movement simply because it was an embarassment to the Jewish Community and could in fact be used against the community itself. Now I know I’m right.
The Toronto Police Services Board have evidently also included “Pedophiles” as a new victim group in their latest report, which is not yet public, according to this article in the National Post.
It would appear that the second arsonist arrested in the attempt on Lars Vilks life was the younger brother of the first, who is currently in hospital suffering burns from a Molotov cocktail he mishandled.
If the British government has seen fit to allow Muslims to throw shoes as a legitimate form of ‘traditional ritual protest’ including but not limited to, ski boots and wooden clogs, then why could a Texan who might have had a shoe thrown at him shoot the mother fucker in traditional Texas form? I mean is it not a law and a culture within Texas as a sacred aspect of their individualism that they have the right of lethal self defence? My guess is, the Brits would tell them to stay home if they like their culture so much. One commenter from the originating site said something rather interesting as well…
“Peter Reid wrote:
“Shoes, and particularly the soles of shoes, are regarded as ritually unclean in the Islamic world.”
This is disturbing, because there is a saying in Islam: “A woman’s heaven lies beneath the soles of her husband’s feet.”
Protesters throw shoes at a placard of Barack Obama in Jakarta, Indonesia

SCOTLAND YARD has bowed to Islamic sensitivities and accepted that Muslims are entitled to throw shoes in ritual protest — which could have the unintended consequence of politicians or the police being hit.
News of the concession by the Metropolitan police has come to light amid a series of trials of more than 70 mostly Muslim demonstrators who were charged with violent disorder after last year’s Gaza protests outside the Israeli embassy in London.
Aquib Salim, 21, an IT student at Queen Mary, London University, who was involved in a shoe-throwing incident, is almost certain to avoid a prison sentence as a result.
Chris Holt, Salim’s solicitor, said he was likely to get a suspended sentence after he pleaded guilty to a single charge of throwing a stick at police lines.
“The court accepted that the earlier shoe-throwing incident was simply a ritual form of protest and therefore not a criminal act of violence,” Holt said. Continue Reading →
Vlad did a post earlier when it was first reported that Somali pirates had taken a Russian oil tanker and demanded ransom for it. Our suspicion was, that Russia may not feel the same contraints the US does when it deals with violent, civilization-destroying crime. I would guess the obvious was true this time. Sorry, I have sat on this link for ages and just now got around to it what with all the Lars Vilks stuff etc. But if anyone does not already know, here is how a nation that wishes to remain a nation handles matters of piracy.

MOSCOW – A Russian official claimed Tuesday that 10 pirates seized by Russian special forces aboard an oil tanker last week were quickly freed but then died on their way back to the Somali coast.
The unidentified high-ranking Defense Ministry official did not elaborate on how the pirates died, deepening a mystery that has prompted speculation the pirates were executed by commandos who had freed a Russian oil tanker seized in waters 500 miles (800 kilometers) east of Somalia’s coast. NEW Tory chairman Sayeeda Warsi has been slammed by Islamic fundamentalists who warned she could be in physical danger if she visits Muslim communities.
The 39-year-old baroness is the first female Muslim to be given a full Cabinet position.
But controversial preacher Anjem Choudary accused her of “betraying” her religion.
He told the Daily Star Sunday: “Sayeeda Warsi is not a Muslim in my eyes.
“She may look like a Muslim and have a Muslim-sounding name but she does not represent Islam or anyone in this country who is a Muslim.
“She is a ‘coconut’, brown on the outside but white on the inside.
“In fact, she is whiter than most of the other white people in government.
“How can she be a Muslim and support the military involvement of the British Army in Islamic countries?
“She is somebody who pretends to be a practising Muslim but, from her views and statements, she is clearly against Sharia.
“She is a disgrace and many true Muslims are angry that she claims to stand for Islam despite betraying Allah.”
Choudary – whose group Islam4UK was banned by the last government – predicted that Baroness Warsi would become the focus of hate.
He said: “She will be attacked by eggs every time she goes near a Muslim community.
“Some more extreme protesters may take the attacks further. There is no doubt she is in danger.”
Meanwhile, Choudary and his supporters will head to Brussels on Saturday to join a mass protest against Belgium’s bid to ban the burka. He stormed: “There will be hundreds of Muslims from Britain heading to Belgium to join with thousands of our brethren to fight against this tyranny.
“We will fight all attempts to destroy Islam.
“There will be blood on the streets.”
Baroness Warsi, who was born in Yorkshire of Pakistani parents, has already experienced hostility. She was pelted with eggs by Muslim protesters when she visited Luton, Bedfordshire, last year.
Married with one daughter, she describes herself as a “northern, working-class-roots mum”. She gave up her job as a solicitor in 2004 to stand for parliament in her home town of Dewsbury, losing out to Labour’s Shahid Malik.
She was also a special adviser on community relations to then Tory leader Michael Howard before becoming the party’s vice-chairman.
She says her admiration for Conservative principles was inspired by her father, who rose from mill worker to running a £2million-a-year bed manufacturing firm.
In 2005, she had to apologise after gay rights group Stonewall slammed her campaign leaflets for being anti-gay.
The controversial pamphlets said: “Labour has scrapped Section 28, which was introduced by the Conservatives to stop schools promoting alternative sexual lifestyles such as homosexuality to children as young as seven years old.
“Labour reduced the age of consent for homosexuality from 18 to 16, allowing schoolchildren to be propositioned for homosexual relationships.”
Here is a post from Gates of Vienna that needs to be read to get a proper context for the video that Vlad subtitled and posted here about a week or so ago.
This story is a year old, but it’s still important and relevant to what we discuss here every day.
In 2009 the Oslo police reported that rape statistics for the past three years showed that none of the rapes in the city were committed by native Norwegians — all were committed by immigrants. The video below is from a report aired on a Norwegian TV news program. Many thanks to TTL for the translation
Our Norwegian correspondent Zylark has translated a contemporaneous newspaper article. Zylark adds these observations:
The article is a good one, but it’s a bit misleading. It states non-Western immigrants are behind all assault rapes, which is true enough, but it is not quite exact. What it should say is: immigrants from Muslim countries are behind all assault rapes.
I dislike the tendency for the mainstream press to lump all non-Western immigrants into one big sack. Non-Westerners from non-Muslim countries integrate perfectly well into our societies. They have their quirks and culture, and that is fine. Quite exciting actually, rather enjoy it. They are decent people, unlike many of the Muslims, who are not.
I would love it if the press managed to grow the [manly equipment] to make that distinction. But I guess it would be racist to say that Indian Hindus are no problem, but Pakistani Muslims are. Never mind that they are essentially the same, ethnically speaking. Only the creed differs.
Immigrants behind all reported assault rapes in Oslo
For the last three years according to the police.
All 41 reported assault rapes in Oslo for the last three years were committed by non-Western immigrants, according to the police.
“The perps are relatively young men who come from other countries. They are often asylum-seekers and often from traumatized countries or countries with an entirely different view on women than we have here in Norway,” says Hanne Kristin Rohde, leader of the violence and vice section at the Oslo precinct to NRK [Norwegian Broadcasting Company].
She says the perps are either traumatized or psychologically damaged, or from countries where violence towards women is ordinary.
Brute violence
Men with Kurdish or African background dominate the statistics.
None of the reports involves ethnic Norwegians.
What distinguish the assault rapes are threats or use of brute violence.
The police think more preventative measures towards men of immigrant background are needed.
[Yes, a course is needed, where one need to tell people rape is wrong. *Sigh*. — translator]
Ole Morten Lyng with the Nordbybråten asylum-reception center agrees.
He emphasizes that nothing can excuse such actions, but that it is important to understand the situation the assailants are in, in order to prevent such incidents in the future.
“Politicians are afraid”
The leader of the resource center for immigrant and refugee women, Fakhra Salimi, passes the ball to the politicians.
She claims preventative work amongst men with minority background is entirely lacking, and says the politicians are afraid to tackle the problem. Continue Reading →
