Iraqi gays rounded up, tortured and mutilated

Militias in Iraq are rounding up gays, slitting and removing pieces of their throats, cutting off their genitals and gluing their anuses shut. Signs are then attached to their displayed, mutilated bodies reading ‘pervert’ in Arabic and their bodies then dumped into garbage cans. “Fears that Iraqi men’s masculinity is under threat” is the motivation for violent action taken against gays in Iraq. Victims families are also to blame for carrying out honour killings because ‘unmanly’ behaviour shames the family/tribe.

Rights activists say Iraqi gays targeted for death by militias

Aseel Kami and Mohammed Abbas, Reuters Published: Monday, August 17, 2009

BAGHDAD – Iraqi militias are conducting a campaign of torture and murder against men suspected of homosexual activity, a leading rights group said on Monday, adding that government security forces may be involved.

New York-based Human Rights Watch (HRW) said the killings began earlier this year in the poor Sadr City district of Baghdad, once ruled by Shi’ite Muslim militias, and had since spread to many cities across Iraq.

“The killers invade homes and pick people up in the street, witnesses and survivors said, interrogating them before murdering them to extract the names of other potential victims,” the rights group said in a statement. Continue Reading →

Cargo-bike imam. Music.

This is by far the creepiest one of the three I have subtitled so far. Is this Sasha Baron Cohen meets Andy Kaufman as a Moroccan Muslim? Or is this something much darker. Even if it is meant to lampoon Islam, those are real kids he is speaking to.

Somali Muslims throw rocks at gay people. In Minneapolis

Sooner or later people of the non Islamic world, you are going to have to make choices about what values you hold. Not making those choices or not fighting for the ones you have, is a choice. Remember that when they are throwing rocks at you. Do not imagine for a second this will end with homosexuals, Jews Christians, athiests, Hindus, Buddhists or women in public without full cover and a male owner. Sooner or later this will happen to you.

RCMP Outreach Follies?

RCMP Outreach Follies?

They say the Mounties always get their man. But do they sometimes get the wrong imam?

This is one of many questions coming out of the second annual “Muslims of Tomorrow 2009” conference sponsored in part by Canada’s Royal Canadian Mounted Police on June 13. A product of efforts by the RCMP National Security Program in British Columbia, and something called the “RCMP National Security Youth Advisory Council (BC),” the initiative reflects the shaky history of the Force’s involvement in Islamic outreach.

Mounties rushed into outreach following 9/11, and the results were not always pretty. The former head of the Force’s National Security outreach group was Inspector Wayne Hanniman, whose fondest hope – expressed in a public briefing – was to work as a traffic cop in British Columbia, a unique aspiration for one involved in the high-risk and subtle area of Islamic outreach and Islamist subversion. Consistent with this goal, he formed an RCMP ethno-cultural national security consultative group whose membership inadvertently included some of the more radical elements in Canadian society.

Moderate Muslims were shocked to find the Canadian Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-CAN), a chapter of the US unindicted co-conspirator outfit, CAIR, invited to participate. Under the Inspector’s wing, a CAIR-CAN official was even escorted around the Canadian Security Intelligence Service offices. The farce worsened as the National Security group’s public briefings eventually came to cite CAIR-CAN’s misleading studies of Muslim victimhood, thus doing the divisive propagandistic work of Islamists for them (For a reaction to Canada’s victimhood bandwagon, click here). Inspector Hanniman was last seen leading Canada’s UN police contingent in Sudan, where he was featured in a flattering Department of Foreign Affairs magazine article written by a journalist known for her accommodating coverage of CAIR-CAN and similar groups.

A similarly impulsive approach was taken in the creating of mirror “youth councils” by the National Security outreach group. The RCMP’s headlong rush to get into the outreach business resulted in the national security team’s hiring a bright young university graduate with suitable “diversity” credentials, but no noticeable familiarity with national security. Soon after coming aboard, Ms. Dahlia Nawwar announced in the course of a public presentation that she wanted to complete a study of the causes of youth radicalism. Singing from the “root causes” songbook, she made clear that she adhered to the apologist view that Islamic extremism was all simply a matter of reaction to oppression and alienation. Nawwar’s remarks showed no appreciation of the doctors, lawyers, engineers and other privileged classes that inspired, organized and underpinned extremism from the Muslim Brotherhood to al-Qaeda. But they did sidestep altogether the militant Qur’anic “sword verses” so routinely invoked by terrorists themselves as their sole motivation for violence.

Which gets us to “Muslims of Tomorrow.”

Although the national security outreach efforts claim to be aimed at heading off radicalism of all kinds, the conference shows a heavy concentration on Muslim concerns and perspectives – and not the most moderate among those. It is far from clear, for example, that similar resources and publicity have gone into preoccupations of other “at risk” immigrant groups, or that a federal police agency has any business getting involved in determining what tomorrow’s Muslims should look like, sound like, dress like or believe in. Even those who think government should be in the business of religion, will not soon expect similar quantities of RCMP dollars and prestige to flow into “Hindus of Tomorrow” or “Christians of Tomorrow” conferences.

In the meantime, compliant national security outreach functionaries once again seem inclined to preside over a Muslim conference premised on the discredited Islamist propaganda theme of Canadian Muslims as victims of their non-Muslim neighbors. So, as day follows night, the theme of this year’s gathering is the media portrayal of Canadian Muslims. RCMP publicity includes references to popular and largely-unsubstantiated Islamist themes: anti-Muslim bias, fear of backlash, and so on.

Two respected Canadian journalists are to figure on the “Tomorrow” panel, and the Islamic content is rounded out by panellist Imam Dr. Reda Bedeir. In some ways, Imam Bedeir’s selection reflects how tricky and ill-advised RCMP and Government involvement in religion can be.

Bedeir has a distinguished intellectual history, with an impressive list of credentials. He was even listed among the host of people attending the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference 2008. But in inviting Dr. Bedeir – or at least associating themselves with him through the “Muslims of Tomorrow” event – the RCMP’s national security outreach unit could be interpreted, in the name of the RCMP and Government of Canada, to confer legitimacy on his brand of Islam, and to commend its practice to young Muslim conference-goers. This may or may not be a comforting thought.

Like many Islamic scholars, Dr. Bedeir shares advice. In an article dealing with homosexuality, he declares the orientation “clearly sinful,” “a perverted deviation from the norm,” a matter of “choice”, and equates it to alcoholism, addiction and gambling. “[G]ay acts,” writes Dr. Bedeir, are “unlawful” in the eyes of all Islamic schools of thought and jurisprudence”. As for these schools:

“They only differ in terms of penalty. Some say that no physical punishment is warranted. Some see that severe punishment is warranted, while others require a minimum of 4 adult male witnesses before a person can be found guilty of a homosexual act.”

Bedeir appears not to rule out “severe punishment,” something that might assume major significance if one were to take seriously what is termed a “useful” web link appearing at the end of his article. The link is to advice on homosexuality by Dr. Taha Jaber Al-‘Alwani, President of the Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences in Herndon, VA, and then president of the Fiqh Council. Al-Awani also is past president of the International Institute of Islamic Thought, suspected of financing terrorist groups.

The President of the Fiqh Council concludes:

“Verily, the punishment here is the burning of both homosexuals (the actor and acted upon) or stoning them with rocks till death because Allah Most High stoned the people of Lut after demolishing their village.”

Is this the view of Dr. Bedeir? If so, would the RCMP National Security Community Outreach Program and the Government of Canada, support it? Would its proponents be appropriate role models for youth? Based on the Supreme Court of Canada’s same-sex constitutional decisions, even the cosmically-expanding cultural-sensitivity standards of RCMP outreach wouldn’t justify the burning and stoning of a Canadian minority. Yet.

This raises another issue and another minority.

Dr. Bedeir is an instructor at the AlMaghrib Institute, an Islamic educational organization with a presence across the United States and Canada – and a certain Saudi flavor. A fellow AlMaghrib instructor is Yasir Qadhi, reportedly a self-described terror watch listee. As David Ouellette, of the now-defunct Judeoscope website put it, “at least … one of his exegeses, combines traditional Islamic anti-Jewish moti[f]s with Western anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial.” A recording of Dr. Qadhi’s spine-chilling meanderings on Jews is offered in “Part 8,” here.

Dr. Qadhi is still with AlMaghrib. Does this mean that his public views reflect those of AlMaghrib? Would this mean that AlMaghrib instructors should not be lionized panellists before an audience of impressionable Muslim youth – and apparently more impressionable RCMP outreachers? Does Dr. Bedeir share the Qadhi take on those pesky Yahoods? If so, would the RCMP National Security Community Outreach Program agree with Bedeir – and Imam Qadhi? Did anyone bother to research the question before sending out the “Muslims of Tomorrow 2009” invitations? Are some outreach program organizers sympathetic to AlMaghrib-type views?

Meanwhile, the RCMP advertising of the “Tomorrow” event boasts that Dr. Bedeir is Imam of British Columbia’s Burnaby Al-Salaam Mosque. This Mosque appears to have been the site of “Parents of Today: Protecting the Muslims of Tomorrow,” a March 2008 forum that was, according to its publicity, “Sponsored by RCMP Advisory Committee.” A listed “key speaker” was Bosnia-born Imam Dr. Zijad Delic, National Executive Director of the Canadian Islamic Congress, ***@*********ps.com/msg27968.html” target=”_blank”>one of the most radical of Canada’s fraternity of Islamist organizations . Radical, maybe, but apparently good enough for an RCMP “Advisory Committee” dedicated to keeping youth away from, well, radicalism.

WHERE TO FROM HERE?

Canadians and their allies must ask whether RCMP outreach is undermining the country’s national security situation. Those who care about Canada have reason to fear that misconceived approaches and incompetently-managed programs have contributed to the Islamist goal of legitimizing interests that seek, at a minimum, to encourage division and alienation within the Canadian body politic while reinforcing Islamist-supremacist and other sharia norms.

In light of the weaknesses of these RCMP Islamic initiatives, Canadians and their friends abroad would do well to press RCMP Commissioner William Elliott, Canadian Public Safety Minister Peter Van Loan, and Prime Minister Stephen Harper, to:

– trigger an audit and investigation of all past and present RCMP Islamic-related “outreach” activity.

– assess whether RCMP outreach involvement with radical groups and individuals has made the Force vulnerable to infiltration by such persons, and whether radical or Islamist-sympathetic individuals are, or have been, employed by the RCMP in outreach or other RCMP units, whether as regular Force or civilian personnel or as volunteers. This assessment must indicate the relevant chain of command at all times during the life of the outreach program, as well as those persons within the RCMP who recommended, approved and influenced the accepting of specific groups and individuals as outreach partners.

– evaluate whether “youth advisory” or other Muslim-dominated groups are gaining special RCMP access unavailable to other youth groups, including religion-privileged access, to recruitment opportunities, and fast-tracking into the RCMP. There must be no religion-based preferences in federal employment.

– disclose the identities of persons involved in any advisory capacity with RCMP outreach officials, so that the public can observe for itself the nature of related activity.

– undertake that any information formerly or currently provided to members of any consultative or advisory group simultaneously be made available for public scrutiny. This should enable citizens to satisfy themselves of the appropriateness of outreach participants and activity. Disclosure must include any studies and other material relating to national security and defense that is shared with community “advisors.”

– shift the culture of “outreach” so that consultations with the RCMP are regarded within relevant RCMP units as the right of the general public, and not the result of possible “in-house,” selective and privileged religious interests and lobbies operating in the shadows.

– undertake that the RCMP have no dealings with the Canadian or other affiliates of Islamic entities listed by the US Justice Department as unindicted co-conspirators in the recent Holy Land Foundation trial. This exclusion would be subject to the clearing of such entities through scrupulous investigation, and certification of clearing by the Commissioner of the RCMP and the Minister of Public Safety.

– ensure that neither the name of the RCMP nor of any other government agency be attached to outreach or other consultative bodies – such as the “RCMP Advisory Committee” – unless these bodies and their members be authorized to speak on behalf of the government. It is a failure of public administration and contrary to the rule of law to allow ad hoc, unauthorized, unaccountable groups to be perceived to have an inside track on the making of national security policy.

– end irresponsible RCMP reliance on unwarranted, alienating and dangerous Islamist “victimhood” narratives. Government must aggressively counter such disinformation with readily available evidence of Canada’s exceptionally good treatment of Canadian Muslims in the face of extremist provocation. If RCMP outreach cadres continue to prove inadequate to the challenge – indeed, by negligence and lack of insight, continue to facilitate the spread of Islamist influence – the government must recognize that the RCMP’s outreach program is operating against the national interest and must be shut down. Fast.

Bruce bawer: Europe’s shift to the right.

Hat tip to Fred over at GAR for sending me this most excellent and important article from Bruce Bawer author of ‘While Europe Slept’. Bawer’s book is one of the first ones to analyze the effects of mass Islamic immigration to Europe and warn of its likely and current threat to western liberal democracy. It is a must read as is this article. Also, on the agendas and views of this site page on Vlad, at the bottom of the page is a link to a PDF of a speech given at Pim Fortyne’s memorial service which is also a must read. Bruce refferences Pim near the end of this article. Do read and pass on. Some articles are worth the effort to get through more than a few paragraphs and this is truly one of them even though I do not agree 100% with is assesment of the BNP or VLams Belang in belgium.

Europe’s turn to the right

By BRUCE BAWER

When the New Left emerged in the 1960s, something else was born that would mark American elites for decades thereafter: the notion that social-democratic Western Europe was far superior to the capitalist United States. Pity the poor American professor whose every junket to a European academic conference was marred by his continental colleagues’ sneering over cocktails about his nation’s shame du jour—Vietnam, Watergate, Iraq—or about American racism, capital punishment or health care. For much of the American left, Western Europe was nothing less than an abstract symbol of progressive utopia.

This rosy view was never accurate, of course. Europe’s socialized health care was blighted by outrageous (and sometimes deadly) waiting lists and rationing, to name just one example. To name another: Timbro, a Swedish think tank, found in 2004 that Sweden was poorer than all but five U.S. states and Denmark poorer than all but nine. But in recent years, something has happened to complicate the left’s fanciful picture even further: Western European voters’ widespread reaction against social democracy.

The shift has two principal, and related, causes. The more significant one is that over the past three decades, social-democratic Europe’s political, cultural, academic and media elites have presided over, and vigorously defended, a vast wave of immigration from the Muslim world—the largest such influx in human history. According to Foreign Affairs, Muslims in Western Europe numbered between 15 million and 20 million in 2005. One source estimates that Britain’s Muslim population rose from about 82,000 in 1961 to 553,000 in 1981 to two million in 2000—a demographic change roughly representative of Western Europe as a whole during that period. According to the London Times, the number of Muslims in the U.K. climbed by half a million between 2004 and 2008 alone—a rate of growth 10 times that of the rest of the country’s population.

Yet instead of encouraging these immigrants to integrate and become part of their new societies, Western Europe’s governments have allowed them to form self-segregating parallel societies run more or less according to Shariah. Many of the residents of these patriarchal enclaves subsist on government benefits, speak the language of their adopted country poorly or not at all, despise pluralistic democracy, look forward to Europe’s incorporation into the House of Islam, and support—at least in spirit—terrorism against the West. A 2006 Sunday Telegraph poll, for example, showed that 40% of British Muslims wanted Shariah in Britain, 14% approved of attacks on Danish embassies in retribution for the famous Mohammed cartoons, 13% supported violence against those who insulted Islam, and 20% sympathized with the July 2005 London bombers.

Anti gay attack in Seattle. Attacker claimed homosexuality “against his religion”

Hate crime charges filed in anti-gay attack

By LEVI PULKKINEN
SEATTLEPI.COM STAFF

Prosecutors have filed hate crime charges against an 18-year-old Seattle man accused of accosting another man on a Metro bus while yelling anti-gay slurs.

Abiazzizi I. Idris has been charged with second-degree attempted robbery and malicious harassment, the state’s hate crime statute, in the March 10 attack.

In court documents, police claim Idris was riding on a Metro coach near the 9000 block of Rainier Avenue South when he slapped the man in the back of the head. He then allegedly asked, using a slur, if he was homosexual.

The man disembarked the bus moments later, followed by Idris and an associate. Police say Idris again approached him, telling the man that homosexuality violates his religion.

Confronted by Idris, the man again said he was not gay. Idris then, police assert, “grabbed the victim around his neck and said ‘Give me $10 and your cell phone and I’ll let you go.'”

The owner of a nearby grocery store spotted the altercation and phoned 911. Police arrived and arrested Idris, who was later identified as the assailant, according to prosecutor’s statements.

Idris remains in King County Jail on $50,000 bail. He has not entered a plea in the case.

The victim’s sexual orientation is not noted in court documents. Under state law, malicious harassment occurs when a defendant threatens someone based on their perception of their sexual orientation or other factor.

Virginia: Bullying Mob Packs Govt Meeting in Support of Islamic Supremacist Institution

Imagine facing the overwhelming odds of fighting for equality in Islamic supremacist Saudi Arabia or in the 1960s-era white supremacist Mississippi.

These were the same odds faced by a handful of activists in challenging the estimated 600 supporters of the Islamic Saudi Academy at Northern Virginia’s Fairfax County Planning Commission on the night of March 18, 2009. Many hundreds of the Islamic Saudi Academy (ISA) supporters wore printed name tag badges reading “I Support ISA,” including ISA’s logo containing the emblem of Saudi Arabian government with its two crossed swords.

This is the same Saudi government that a few weeks ago the U.S. State Department condemned for its “significant human rights problems” in denying basic freedoms and human rights to men, women, and non-Muslims, and the same Saudi government whose courts recently sentenced a 75 year old woman to 40 lashes for “mingling” with men, and whose courts recently sentenced a pregnant gang-rape victim to 100 lashes for “adultery.”

The meeting of the Fairfax County Government Planning Commission was to consider a special exemption to a zoning regulation to allow for the building of an expansion to the Islamic Saudi Academy in Fairfax, Virginia. The Fairfax County government has been leasing space for the existing Saudi Academy facilities for years now. As a suburb of Washington DC, Fairfax, Virginia is slightly more than 20 miles away from our nation’s capital. The Islamic Saudi Academy has been frequently criticized for its reported use of textbooks promoting hate and violence, its former students associated with jihad plots, reports of negligence on reporting female child sex abuse, and ISA’s former valedictorian convicted of joining Al-Qaeda and plotting to assassinate the president.

All homosexuals should be stoned to death, says Muslim preacher of hate

By Sam Greenhill
Last updated at 12:34 AM on 21st March 2009

From The Daily Mail

All homosexuals should face stoning to death, a Muslim preacher of hate declared yesterday.

Anjem Choudary, the firebrand cleric who wants to see Britain ruled by Sharia law, said such a regime was the only way to fix the country’s ills.

Under it, adulterers and homosexuals would be killed by stoning. Asked if that would include anybody – even a Cabinet minister such as Business Secretary Lord Mandelson – Choudary responded with an astonishing diatribe.
Choudary

Hate, hate and more hate: Anjem Choudary (centre), flanked by two cohorts, prepares to give a press conference on Friday in which he says homosexuals should be stoned to death

He said: ‘If a man likes another man, it can happen, but if you go on to fulfil your desire, if it is proved, then there is a punishment to follow. You don’t stone to death unless there are four eyewitnesses. It is a very stringent procedure.

‘There are some people who are attracted to donkeys but that does not mean it is right.’

Choudary was speaking at a press conference in London arranged by Muslim extremists to justify their protest in Luton last week against soldiers returning home from Iraq.

  • Islamic hate preacher Anjem Choudary probed over call to ‘hide terror clues’
  • Britons who HATE Britain: The Muslim extremists hell-bent on segregation rather than integration
  • Swilling beer, smoking dope and leering at porn, the other side of hate preacher ‘Andy’ Choudary
  • His incendiary remarks immediately prompted calls for him to be investigated by police. Tory MP Patrick Mercer said: ‘These statements show the depravity of this man’s beliefs. They must incite hatred and encourage terrorism, and I would encourage the Metropolitan Police to investigate them as rigorously as possible.’

The Rev Sharon Ferguson, chief executive of the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement, said: ‘This is appalling. The police should look very closely at what has been said to see if there is any action they should be taking.’

Contempt: Muslim protesters at Tuesday's parade in Luton

Contempt: Muslim protesters hurl insults at the homecoming parade of British soldiers in Luton

Police were not at the press conference but a Scotland Yard spokesman said officers would investigate if a complaint was made.

Only last week, Choudary, a self-styled ‘judge of the Sharia Court of the UK’, was defending the shameful protests against soldiers parading through Luton after a tour of duty in Iraq.

Yet a week ago, the Daily Mail exposed fundamentalist Choudary’s student days when he was pictured swigging beer, cavorting with women and puffing on a cannabis joint – offences for which he would be lashed and stoned under his version of Sharia law. Yesterday he sheepishly confessed:

‘Yes, I was not always practising Islam. Certainly in my student days I was not a practising Muslim.’

    Muslim cleric Omar Bakri Mohammedi

Wake-up call: Omar Bakri has warned of another 7/7-style attack

Yesterday Choudary, 42, was flanked by two fellow firebrands at the press conference at the Express by Holiday Inn Hotel in Chingford, East London.

It started with warning from fellow hate cleric Omar Bakri, who warned that Britons should ‘wake up before it is too late’ or suffer another 7/7 terror attack.

The preacher threatened that ordinary Muslims living here would rise up and retaliate for the ‘evil’ acts of British soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bakri, banned from Britain four years ago, broadcast his threats from his Lebanon bolthole over a speakerphone.

In London, sitting alongside Choudary was Ishtiaq Alamgir, another ringleader of the Luton protests, who accused British soldiers of torture, rape and murder. He said: ‘Those British soldiers have blood on their hands.’

A third firebrand, Abu Abdullah, 30, branded the British Government ‘tyrannical’ and warned: ‘Do not relax, do not recline, or you will be touched by the fire of hell.’

shariah justice; a contradiction in terms

Vladtepes has decided to install a regular series on shariah. We felt it important to do so since there is some confusion surrounding the term itself;  it’s meaning, application, extension, foundation, history and narrative. Proponents of it in the west would have us believe it to be nothing more than a benign set of Islamic  judiciary laws dealing primarily with marriage and divorce, yet closer inspection reveals it’s all encompassing and immutable reality. Sharia must be understood in terms of it’s entirety and the far reaching implications and consequences it bears.

Shariah is the body of Islamic religious law, the legal framework by which all aspects of life are regulated based on Islamic principles of jurisprudence. It deals with all aspects of daily life; politics, economics, banking, contracts, family, sexuality, hygiene, and social issues. It is also the antithises of liberal secularism, a set of religiously pious and absurd constructs unparalelled in it’s opposition to democratic principle and fundamentals. The Muslim Brotherhood describes shariah as ” the real effective way out of all sufferings and problems”.

Patrick Poole of Frontpage magazine wrote in May 2006 of the discovery of the Muslim Brotherhood’s twenty-one year old document known as “The Project”. The contents clearly point to an intentional, long term and multi-pronged approach, a manifesto written to fulfill their desired plan of ‘cultural invasion’ to aid in the conquest of the west. The MBH established in 1928, is arguably one of the older organizations during modern times which has devoted itself in the re-radicalization process, with offshoot groups such as al-Qaeda and Hamas actively participating in jihad on it’s behalf. It clings to the credo: “Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Quran is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope”. Keeping this in mind, their endorsement of sharia isn’t exactly the mark of sterling rationale or collective sanity but is an ever faithful testament to their dangerous mandate of supremacy and domination, shariah sanctioned of course.

In 2004, Canada had been tested in terms of the proposed adoption of Islamic law. Syed Mumtaz Ali, the lawyer and shariah advocate who sought it’s implementation gleefully stated ” every act of your life is to be governed by shariah. If you are not obeying the law, you are not a Muslim.” He was referring clearly to the laws of Islam and not of Canadian law. Although the proposal was smacked down due in large part to national and international objection and it’s inclusion as a parallel system rejected, his statement offered us a glimpse of shariah reality.  Islam is shariah and shariah is Islam.

Of those opposing the creeping implementation of shariah two groups immediately come to mind. The first, Women Against Shariah are of the view that Islamic law cannot be allowed to flourish in any way. By virtue of it’s inherent discrimination of non-Muslims, appalling record of human rights abuses and open violations of equality it (shariah) calls for immediate ridicule and eventual abandonment. Women Against Shariah’s description is succinct:

it is our position that shariah law imposes second class status on women and is incompatible with the standards of liberal western societies and the basic principles of human rights that include equality under the law and the protection of individual freedoms. The sharia code mandates the complete authority of men and women, including the control of their movement, education, marital options, clothing, bodies, place of residence and all other aspects of their existence. Further, it calls for the beating, punishment and murder of women who do not comply with shariah requirements.” Women Against Sharia’s mission is “to prevent and outlaw the imposition of shariah law in the United States for both Muslim and American women as either a parallel legal system or a replacement for existing laws”.

The second, Muslims Against Shariah, is an Islamic reform movement. This group strives to educate Muslims of the dangers presented by Islamic religious texts and the need for reform, to instruct non-Muslims of the differences between moderate Muslims and Islamists and to reinforce the truth that increasingly moderate Muslims are also the targets of Islamic terror. Both organizations are solid in their committments and provide numerous articles relaying the oppression and cruelty that accompany shariah. Both are also brave in their refusal to be coerced and dominated by a centuries old legal system unfit for the 21st century.

Writing for American Thinker, James Arlandson writes one of the best articles I have come across on shariah. “Top ten reasons why shariah is bad for all societies” is a must read for anyone wishing to understand this complex issue. His writing is thorough, with well documented articles, quotations from the Quran and hadith and classical legal opinion. Also included are supporting articles which examine the historical and literary context of each Quranic verse that is cited.

I do believe that shariah is bad for all societies. I also believe that to support Muslims who fully understand it’s horror is not only an act of compassion but one of absolute necessity. Shallow excuses of inaction will only lead to more gratuitous cruelty, stifling oppression, religious decadence and death in the name of Islam.

Video on how homosexuals must be treated in Islam

This video from liveleak and found through The Religion of peace is a calm and ‘scholarly’ discussion of homosexuality in Islam. I post it not because readers here will not know Muslim intentions towards gay people, but because so very many gay groups are seemingly more committed to being adamantly leftist and pro terrorist than they are to their own survival. It’s one thing when a canary is brought into a coal mine and quite another when it flies in and insists there are no bad gasses.
What makes this video different, is the calm with which the imam speaks his truth. This isn’t some foaming nutbag as most of these things tend to be. This is advocating mass murder in cold blood.
