FOUR key suspects who confessed to involvement in the bomb blasts were paraded before journalists yesterday.
Two of them, Edris Nsubuga and Haruna Hassan Luyima, cried over the pain their actions caused. Issa Luyima and Haruna Hassan Luyima are brothers, while Nsubuga is their friend. The fourth suspect was identified as Mohamood Mugisha.
“I am very sorry for the loss of life. I was hesitant to pick on Ugandans. My target was the Americans, who I think are responsible for the suffering in the world. I am very sorry to the people, who knew me,” Issa Luyima, described as the mastermind of the blasts, said without emotion. Continue Reading →

Mainstream Islamic organisations ‘share al-Qaeda ideology’
Many apparently mainstream Muslim groups have the same ideology as violent Islamists, according to a secret report from the think tank Quilliam. The Telegraph:
By Duncan Gardham, Security Correspondent
Published: 2:59PM BST 05 Aug 2010
The report, sent to the government’s Office for Security and Counter Terrorism (OSCT), was not intended for publication but has now been leaked on the internet.
Entitled “Preventing terrorism, where next for Britain?” it says the ideology of non-violent Islamists is “broadly the same as that of violent Islamists” adding “they disagree only on tactics.”
It produces a list of those it believes are “non-violent Islamists” and adds: “These are a selection of the various groups and institutions active in the UK which are broadly sympathetic to Islamism.
“Whilst only a small proportion will agree with al-Qaeda’s tactics, many will agree with their overall goal of creating a single ‘Islamic state’ which would bring together all Muslims around the world under a single government and then impose on them a single interpretation of sharia as state law.”
The document adds that if the government engages with such groups “it risks empowering proponents of the ideology, if not the methodology, that is behind terrorism.” Continue Reading →
US charges 14 Somalis with terrorism
US Charges 14 With Aiding Somalia’s al-Shabab: VOA News
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder announced charges on Thursday against 14 suspects accused of supporting the terrorist group al-Shabab in Somalia. Holder said the indictments reflect a “disturbing trend” of terrorist organizations recruiting in the United States.
Attorney General Holder announced four indictments charging suspects in Minnesota, California and Alabama with seeking to provide money, personnel and services to al-Shabab, which has links to al-Qaida.
Two suspects have been arrested, the rest are still at large with several believed to be in Somalia fighting for al-Shabab. The group, designated by the United States as a terrorist organization, has been battling the transitional Somali government for control of Mogadishu. It has also been blamed for recent suicide bombings in Uganda. Continue Reading →

British soldier forced to leave England with family for safety.
Sometimes you have to wonder if one is dreaming all this. If I had said to someone 15 years ago, that British soldiers would not be safe in their own country because of Britain’s own government, no one but no one would have taken me seriously and some would suggest I needed medical help. I might have thought so myself.
Eeyore.
From News.Com.AU By way of TROP
A SNIPER in the British Army submitted a legal challenge to the Ministry of Defence over a “catastrophic error” that put him and his family at risk of being kidnapped by al Qaeda.
The soldier received huge media coverage when it was reported he had shot dead several Taliban fighters at a range of 1.5 miles during his tour of Afghanistan.
The publicity, which he says he never agreed to, meant that police feared he could be the victim of a reprisal attack by British-based Islamists and he was forced to leave the country with his family.
He has now posted a “letter of claim” with the ministry, accusing it of failing in its duty of care to him by allowing his identity to become public, Britain’s Sunday Telegraph has reported
The soldier was interviewed during a parade at his regiment’s barracks. His story was picked up around the world and received millions of hits on the internet.
The solider claims he was given an undertaking by officials that his personal details would not be made public but that no such guidelines were detailed by Ministry of Defence media representatives present during the interview.
The letter of claim states: “Following the reporting of the story and the publication of our client’s photograph and personal details, he and his family suffered acute distress and anxiety. It was described to our client by the press liaison officer as a ‘catastrophic error.’ This was also accepted later by the Media Operations team within the MoD
Canada joins crackdown on “We are fighting for God” al-Awlaki
Canadian journalist Stewart Bell is one of the few with a thorough understanding of how western nations intentionally or otherwise, nurture jihad, exposing it’s threat and the lasting effects it marks on a free country. I urge everyone interested in the facts surrounding Islamic extremism in Canada to read his bestseller, ” Cold Terror: How Canada Nurtures and Exports Terrorism Around The World”.

The RCMP’s senior counterterrorism officer singled out radical preacher Anwar Al-Awlaki yesterday as a common thread among young Canadian extremists.
Assistant Commissioner Gilles Michaud said Awlaki, a Yemeni-American terrorist leader, had been popping up during investigations of “the individuals that are of concern to us.”
“He’s a major, major factor in radicalization,” Ass. Comm. Michaud, head of the RCMP’s National Security Criminal Investigations section, told the National Post in an interview.
“This individual, basically he’s born in the U.S., so he knows the Western culture and whatnot, he knows the words to use and how to get to the young people.”
The RCMP have been investigating radicalized Canadians who have travelled to such countries as Somalia and Pakistan for terrorist training.
His comments came a day after the Canadian government ordered financial institutions to look for property linked to Awlaki and, if they find any, to seize it and report it to the RCMP and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS).
The move followed similar measures enacted last week by the United States and on Tuesday by the United Nations Security Council, which placed Awlaki on its list of individuals associated with al-Qaeda.
The UN said in its summary of reasons for listing Awlaki that he is a leader of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and was involved in recruiting and training camps.
Since late 2009, he has “taken on an increasingly operational role in the group.”
In particular, he prepared Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab for his attempted bombing of a Detroit-bound Northwest Airlines flight on Christmas Day using explosives hidden in his underwear, it said.
Born in New Mexico to Yemeni parents, Awlaki preached in the 1990s at mosques in U.S. cities such as San Diego, where he was repeatedly arrested and fined for picking up prostitutes. He moved to Yemen in 2004.
Making use of his fluency in English, he began to exploit the Internet to introduce al-Qaeda’s worldview to the online generation. His recordings, in which he exhorts Muslims to commit terrorist violence, have made him popular among angry youths — and a target. In April, the Obama administration authorized U.S. agencies to capture or kill him.
“We seek to apply the rule of Koran, and make the word of Allah supreme over all other and God willing, we will strive to achieve these goals with all what we possess, and we will fight to the last man against whoever stands in our way,” he said in a recent online message. “We are fighting for God.”
From the Toronto 18 to the Somali-Canadians in Al-Shabab, many of those involved in terrorist groups share a fascination with Awlaki, who has been in hiding somewhere in Yemen since 2007.
“I disagree with him all the way,” said Saed Rageah, Imam of the Abu Huraira mosque in Toronto. He said he had listened to tapes of Awlaki and found he was taking Koranic verses out of context to justify his views. “I disagree killing innocent people, Islam disagrees with that,” Imam Rageah said.
On Wednesday, the police crackdown on Awlaki’s followers continued. Zachary Adam Chesser, 20, was arrested after he allegedly attempted to travel to Somalia to join Al-Shabab, the terrorist group behind the bombings in Uganda that killed 76 during the World Cup soccer final.
Mr. Chesser told the FBI that since converting to Islam in 2008 he had become “very extremist” in his beliefs, according to an affidavit filed in U.S. District Court in Virginia. He said he was a fan of Awlaki’s videos and had exchanged emails with the fugitive preacher.
When he was stopped at New York’s JFK airport on June 10, because he was on the U.S. no-fly list, he was travelling with his infant son. He later told the FBI he was using the child to cover up his true intention, which was to travel to Somalia.
Also known as Abu Talha Al-Amrikee, he had earlier come to public attention for supporting the killing of the creators of the animated television show South Park, which had depicted the Muslim prophet Muhamed wearing a bear costume.

Guards for Somali Leader Join Islamists
NEWYORKTIMES… NAIROBI, Kenya — Somali officials acknowledged on Thursday that members of Somalia’s presidential guard had defected to the Shabab, the radical Islamist insurgent group that claimed responsibility for the recent bombings in Uganda that killed more than 70 people watching the final game of the World Cup.
The defection of some of the president’s best-trained men is the latest setback for Somalia’s beleaguered transitional government, which has lost important pieces of territory in the past few days. Insurgents are now 300 yards — a rifle shot away — from the presidential palace.
The Shabab gleefully introduced three former members of the presidential guard at a news conference in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, on Wednesday. The soldiers said they quit working for the government because it was being protected by African Union peacekeepers, who they said were killing Somali civilians with indiscriminate shelling. N. Carolina Man Appears to Be Top Editor of Al Qaeda Magazine, U.S. Officials Say
FOXNEWS… A young North Carolina man who has moved to Yemen appears to be the editor-in-chief of a flashy new Al Qaeda magazine that features bomb-making instructions and an article by Usama bin Laden, U.S. officials said Monday.
Samir Khan, a 24-year-old American citizen who left the country last October, is believed to be the top editor of Inspire, a newly launched online magazine that seeks to recruit members of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula – the notorious terror group’s Yemeni branch that is linked to the attempted bombing of a Detroit-bound U.S. flight last Christmas.
The 67-page online publication, written in colloquial English and launched last month, features flashy graphics and punchy headlines like “Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom,” as well an article on global warming said to be written by Bin Laden. Continue Reading →
UK Muslim group targets Pope’s visit
From Sunday Mercury Net:
Pope’s Birmingham open air mass targeted by Muslim group
Jul 18 2010 by Adam Aspinall, Sunday Mercury
AN MP fears the Pope’s visit to Birmingham could be marred by violence after a fundamentalist Muslim group told followers to ‘convert’ Catholics attending an open air mass.
The sinister orders have appeared in an inflammatory article on a hardline website called the Islamic Standard – which also brands the Pontiff ‘evil’.
It is urging Muslims to disrupt Pope Benedict XVI’s appearance at Cofton Park in September when up to 80,000 Catholics will attend a live mass.
Last night, Perry Barr MP Khalid Mahmood called for a police probe into the Leicester-based website.
He said: “These supposed Muslims are doing all they can to incite violence. Sadly, if Muslims do turn up and preach at Catholics it could easily turn to violence. Continue Reading →
More insane appeasment of Muslims by Guantanamo
Thanks to Blazing Cat fur for the tip on this one.
Islam when it is asserting itself as dominant, and forcing infidels to feel themselves subdued and under willing submission, likes to destroy any representational art as its some form of superstition that any recreation of a living thing is insulting to thier god, who apparently cannot do anything for himself and has to have seventh century psychopathic lunatics do his work for him.
In that spirit… well watch the video.
From the editor of Inspire magazine.
There has been a lot of talk about the magazine Inspire. The one thing that some people are talking about is they can’t find it. Only makes sense for a rational person to want to see something before they comment on it.
So here is page one.
LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Allah says: (And inspire the believers to fight) [al-Anfal: 65]. It is from this verse that we derive the name of our new magazine. The word used in the verse is “harid” which is commonly translated as incite. However, the word should properly be translated as inspire, motivate, or encourage. The word harid in Arabic carries none of the negative
connotations that the English word “incite” carries. To the contrary, it actually has the opposite meaning. The authoritative Arabic lexicon “Taj al-Arus” quotes the classical Arabic language scholar al-Zajjaj as saying that the verb hari? comes from the adjective harid, which means “a person or a being that
is perishing.” Therefore, he says that when you inspire someone towards something using the verb harid, you are saying that unless they do what you are inspiring them to do they would perish. So the word harid is an inspiration that saves a person and guides them towards what is good for them.
‘Make A Bomb In The Kitchen Of Your Mom’
ABCNEWS… The Al Qaeda affiliate based in Yemen has launched a new English-language web site that features statements from Osama Bin Laden, Ayman Zawahiri and Anwar Awlaki, the radical American-born imam linked to numerous U.S. terror plots, and gives instructions on how to make a homemade bomb.
Inspire” magazine, aimed at Westerners and published by Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, includes such articles as “Make A Bomb In The Kitchen Of Your Mom,” written by someone called “The AQ Chef,” that gives step-by-step directions on how jihadis can make a bomb “from ingredients available in any kitchen in the world.” In addition to an interview with AQAP head Sheikh Abu Basir Nasir al-Wuhayshi, the magazine also republishes past statements by Bin Laden and Zawahiri, like an essay on climate change in which Bin Laden says that the earth is getting warmer because Al Qaeda has opened the gates of hell. A message from Awlaki praises accused underwear bomber Umar Abdulmutallab and accused Ft. Hood shooter Nidal Hasan, both of whom were reportedly in touch with Awlaki.
The magazine also quotes Noam Chomsky, David Letterman, and an email from failed Times Square car bomber Faisal Shahzad: “You would have to agree to the fact that there’s a force out there that’s fighting the West, and is defeating them.”
In an advice column called “What to Expect in Jihad – Part One, ” “Mukhtar” urges would-be jihadis to pack light when on the road, warns them not to become frustrated by language barriers, and notes that having a companion eases travel. “Having a friend makes a difference,” says a cheery yellow post-it note displayed next to a handful of bullets.
