Two EDL members stabbed in pub

I have written before on the soft totalitarianism of selective enforcement and other tactics of the modern British state. This one has me especially concerned. Even the most ardent detractors of the EDL admit rapidly, that had a number of EDL members walked into a building and stabbed several Muslim radicals or activists merely because they were Muslim activists, it would be front page news all over the UK and probably all over the world with Iran leading the way.

Meanwhile, several EDL members were followed into a public space yesterday and stabbed by Muslims while they were drinking and socializing and there is practically nothing at all about it in the media. The account given below is, as I have been told, disgracefully inaccurate.

England, you have a problem. You were offered a choice. Defend your culture forcefully or suffer humiliation. You have chosen humiliation. I hope that works out for you. (Paraphrasing Sir Winston)

Two men were seriously hurt when they were stabbed in clashes between the English Defence League and Muslim protesters after a 9/11 memorial service in London.

The two men are thought to have been on opposing sides during a pitched battle outside a pub in Edgware Road last night.

The groups staged rival protests outside the American Embassy in Grosvenor Squareduring a minute’s silence to mark the moment when the first hijacked plane hit New York’s World Trade Center 10 years ago.

About 100 activists from radical Islamist groups including Muslims Against Crusades set fire to a US flag while others shouted slogans including “USA terrorists”.

Sixty members of the far-Right group staged a counter demonstration and both groups then took part in an unplanned 90-minute march along Park Lane and Edgware Road toRegent’s Park Mosque.

A fight broke out outside the Tyburn pub in Edgware Road in which the two men were stabbed. More than 40 people were arrested during the day, 13 of them in connection with assaults during the brawl at about 6pm.

An eyewitness, who did not wish to be named, said: “There was a group of EDL guys drinking outside the pub when a large group of Muslims walked past. The EDL started hurling racist abuse at the Muslims who took offence. They got angry and were yelling back.

“Then the EDL guys picked up pub furniture and started throwing glasses and chairs and tables at the group in the street.

“It was chaos. At first it was just 10 EDL guys but that number quickly swelled to about 50 people.

“The police were on the scene really quickly. They separated the groups and just started arresting people.”

Earlier radical Islamists, including hate preacher Anjem Choudary, gathered in Grosvenor Square as families of British 9/11 victims prepared for a remembrance ceremony in the September 11 memorial garden.

A smaller group of Muslims staged a counter-demonstration nearby, holding up placards reading “Muslims Against Extremism” and “If You Want Sharia, Move To Saudi”

While many people died in the atrocities in 2001, we tend to remember most the Twin Towers falling.

Many of us watched it happening in real time, even myself here in Melbournistan, Australia.

Seven years after the event, the enormity of it is something that never leaves; perhaps that really was the end of history as we know it, rather than the year 2000.

For someone with the gift of the gab, this is one that renders me nearly speechless, and so I will just leave you with a comment of the frollicking mole’s from Tim Blair’s old blog:

I saw people jumping and never considered it suicide. It was a choice between the auto-de-fe of the islamists or the quick death of their own making.
They made a CHOICE not to die by burning, I only hope they closed their eyes and thought back to when they were 5 and could fly….

In the interests of tolerance, diversity and multiculturalism, and for those who think that America (we) deserved 9/11:

I hope you fucking rot in hell.

Libs, PCs dodge Muslim school prayer flap

To be clear, the prayers in school is banned by federal and provincial laws. This is not a matter of school boards deciding what is best for their students any more than domestic violence is about a man deciding what is best for his wife, or vice versa as the case sometimes is.

So the answers these politicians are giving is not only cowardly, but actually refusal to enforce laws and laws by the way, which to this day are still being enforced against Christians in Ontario public schools.

UK Conservatives send you best wishes for Eid-ul-Fitr

In case you were feeling excluded, Baroness Warsi has sent her best wishes to all those in the UK and around the world celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr.

She says, “Eid is a time for families and friends, a time of joy and happiness. It is when communities come together, celebrate the end of the month of Ramadan.”

Baroness Warsi “was instrumental in the launch of Operation Black Vote in West Yorkshire in 1996 and was for many years both an executive member of the Kirklees Racial Equality Council and a member of the Joseph Rowntree Trust Racial Justice Committee.”

She has said she believes that anti-Muslim prejudice is seen as normal and acceptable in the UK.

The baroness was appointed chair of the Conservative Party in 2010 after failing to get elected as an MP.

Over and over and over again, in spite of Iraq Body Count’s consistently lower numbers, (102,347 – 111,864) the media parroted the Lancet’s. Now the vaunted Lancet offers the similar numbers as IBC, and no media will take them to task for it, for they couldn’t care less, the damage has already been done, now move along. KGS

When a party shop owner put a mannequin dressed as Colonel Gaddafi on the run in his doorway, he thought passers-by would see the funny side of it.

But two heavy-handed PCSOs marched into the store – and told staff to take down because it was ‘offensive’.

The mock-Gaddafi – dressed in bright pink tights and clutching a sign which read ‘you ain’t seen me right’ – was meant as a light-hearted prank.

Owner Peter Tooley never dreamed that his store would be accused of stirring up tensions.

The startling extent to which Labour misled the world over the controversial release of the Lockerbie bomber is exposed today in top-secret documents obtained by The Mail on Sunday.

In public, senior Ministers from the last Labour Government and the Scottish First Minister have repeatedly insisted that terminally ill Abdelbaset Al Megrahi was freed on compassionate grounds in a decision taken by Scottish Ministers alone.

But the confidential papers show that Westminster buckled under pressure from Colonel Gaddafi, who threatened to ignite a ‘holy war’ if Megrahi died in his Scottish cell.

And despite repeated denials, the Labour Government worked frantically behind the scenes to appease Gaddafi’s ‘unpredictable nature’.

As recently as last month, a spokesman for Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond was insisting: ‘The decision was taken on the basis of Scots law and was not influenced by economic, political or diplomatic factors.’

Equally damaging, the documents also suggest that as well as sharing intelligence-gathering techniques, Britain gave Libya hundreds of suggested questions for Islamic militants detained in Libya in 2004.

This will inevitably cause widespread dismay because of the regime’s systematic use of torture during interrogation.

Australia  is to remove the birth of Jesus as a reference point for dates in school history books.

Under the new politically correct curriculum, the terms BC (Before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini) will be replaced with BCE (Before Common Era) and CE (Common Era).

The Archbishop of Sydney, Peter Jensen, yesterday condemned the move as an ‘intellectually absurd attempt to write Christ out of human history’.

Protests Against Turkish Violence Met with Turkish Violence

Turkey’s annual Peace Day is celebrated on September 1st rather than the UN’s international September 21st. But Turkey’s Peace Day did not grant anything of the sort to the 3,000 protesters who filled the streets of Istanbul in support of Kurdish rights and against the Turkish bombings and air strikes that have terrorized northern Iraqi Kurdistan  since early August.

The Turkish assault has led to the death of at least eight civilians. 389 people have been arrested. People have had to completely abandon seven Kurdish villages. And the Turkish government claims that 160 Kurdish rebels have been killed in the strike.

As if that wasn’t enough, Prime Minister Erdogan has promised that the supposed “restraint” Turkish forces have shown thus far because of the month of Ramadan will come to an end. The band played on, the audience inside the Royal Albert Hall loved it and screamed “More!”, so then why did the BBC pull last night’s live Radio 3 broadcast of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra at the Proms near to the beginning?

People around the world had tuned in to listen, but instead the BBC quickly switched to a recording of a past IPO performance.

The six or so anti-Israel disruptions (see clips below) didn’t really detract from the evening’s overall enjoyment.

The BBC would’t pull the live transmission of a big football match because 30 hooligans invaded the pitch, but this is the equivalent of what they did last night to the detriment of those who were not lucky enough to be there in person.

The BBC is broadcasting recorded exerpts of the concert next Wednesday at 2.30pm (BST), but the main beauty of an event is that it is live.

Then the BBC’s report of what happened handed a complete propaganda coup to the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, an organisation that recently invited Sheikh Raed Salah to speak, a man who has called homosexuality “a crime” that starts “the collapse of every society”.

According to Reuters, Turkey’s armed forces said on Monday that some 145-160 Kurdish guerrillas were killed in Turkish air and artillery strikes in northern Iraq this month. (http://uk.reuters.com/article/2011/08/29/uk-turkey-iraq-idUKTRE77S31620110829)

 

So why is Turkey bombing Kurds in Northern Iraq? After all, like the Turks, most Kurds are Sunni Muslims, fellow members of the Religion of Peace, and they’re neighbours of Turkey, living in a semi-autonomous region under limited self rule – so you’d think Turkey would make an effort to live in peace with them.

 

Actually, the peace is being broken by the Kurdish PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party), a terrorist organization recognized by Turkey, the United States and the European Union. Recently PKK assaults in Turkey have killed more than 40 Turkish security force personnel.

 

Turkey is simply defending itself from terrorists, which is why the Turkish airforce sent warplanes to bomb Kurdish towns which the Turkish intelligence say contain PKK bases and arms depots. As it happens regularly in such bombings, seven civilians were killed a week ago, though the Turkish General Staff said more than 100 PKK militants were also wounded.

“Your life is your life,” so the voiceover of Levi’s latest ad announces in a husky, somewhat frothy voice. We’re supposed to feel that we’re listening to someone wise; someone who’s lived life and contemplated its mysteries — beyond why some jeans make you look fat and others don’t, that is. Yet, these, the opening words of the company’s latest ad, are only the beginning of what turns out to be one long string of pret-a-porter-Zen inanities.

Against the visually-rich and politically-loaded footage of the ad, the words are like verbal wallpaper, made in the 1980s, and peeling at the edges. But its this juxtaposition that elevates the words from the banal to an almost Orwellian height.

In one scene, from the waist down, we see a group of Levi’s-wearing, immaculate, and slightly skinny men walk into a riot scene — a Leftist riot scene, to be precise. It’s toned down, but the… continue reading.
