Derby gay death call leaflet ‘was Muslim duty

BBC:

A man who handed out a leaflet calling for homosexuals to be executed has said he was just doing his “duty as a Muslim”.

Kabir Ahmed, 28, is one of five Muslim men on trial for stirring up hatred on the grounds of sexual orientation at Derby Crown Court.

The leaflet, named The Death Penalty?, was one of three distributed in Derby ahead of a gay pride event in 2010.

The literature was described in court as “frightening and threatening”. Continue Reading →

‘Gay people should get the death penalty’: Five Muslim men on trial for stirring up hatred after ‘handing out homophobic leaflets near mosque’

…and some people still insist that ‘multiculturalism’ is not an oxymeron.

From The Daily Mail:

  • One leaflet called The Death Penalty? showed image of mannequin hanging from a noose and said buggery led to hell, court hears
  • Jury told the ‘horrible’ leaflets were designed to stir up ‘hatred and hostility against homosexual people’
  • Prosecution of the group is first of its kind since new laws were passed

A group of Muslim men handed a leaflet out to the public that called for homosexuals to be ‘punished’ and given the death sentence, a court has heard.

The five men gave out the pamphlet, called The Death Penalty?, which showed an image of a mannequin hanging from a noose and said buggery was a great sin leading to hell, the court wast told.

It also said that it used to be punished by hanging and that people practising and allowing homosexuality would suffer, the court was told.

Ihjaz Ali, 42, Mehboob Hussain, 45, Umar Javed, 38, Razwan Javed, 27, and Kabir Ahmed, 28, are alleged to have handed out the document outside and near the Jamia Mosque in Derby, in July 2010.

They are also alleged to have put it through people’s letterboxes in the neighbourhood.

All five men are accused of stirring up hatred on the grounds of sexual orientation in the first prosecution of its kind since legislation came into force in March 2010.

Opening the prosecution’s case at Derby Crown Court today, where the five men are on trial after denying all charges, prosecutor Bobbie Cheema said the case was an example of a hate crime.

She told the jury of seven men and five women: ‘The essence of this case will come down to this – an allegation of a hate crime, that these five defendants were part of a small group of men who distributed horrible, threatening literature, with quotations from religious sources and with pictures on them, which were designed to stir up hatred and hostility against homosexual people.’

Miss Cheema showed the jury a series of three leaflets the men are said to have handed out, which included The Death Penalty? leaflet, and told them they would hear from witnesses who received them.

Luxury vacation destination caves in to sharia

From People of Shambhala.
As a destination for the rich and famous, the Indian Ocean’s Maldives islands depend almost entirely on tourism, which generates one billion dollars a year. That is now in jeopardy. Although the islands have traditionally practiced a more moderate form of Islam, in recent months, extreme Islam has been on the ascendent.

Now, on the back of protests calling for the enforcement of sharia as state law,and criticizing the Government for not being Islamic enough, it has ruled that spas and massage parlors must close. An essential aspect of luxury resorts, these are crucial to the… read more.

The Netherlands: Islamic extremists call for lesbian’s death

From LGBTQ Nation

AMSTERDAM — An Islamist group called for a Muslim lesbian author to be killed andinvaded a discussion on Islam in Amsterdam last week.

A December 8 debate, which included the Canadian Muslim lesbian author Irshad Manji and MP Tofik Dibi on a panel, was disrupted when extremists from the group Sharia4Belgium stormed the event, held at the De Balie theater in Amsterdam. The mob threw eggs and called for Manji’s neck to be broken.

The group of about 20 men and boys arrived halfway through the evening, chanted slogans and pelted the audience with eggs. A police mobile unit had to be called to eject the rioters, and two Belgian men aged 19 and 22 were arrested. Continue Reading →

Welcome to Tower Hamlets

From The New English Review:

H/T Snaphanen

by Esmerelda Weatherwax (September 2011)

Why I am going to Tower Hamlets on Saturday.

I am of an old East End family. We define the East End as the three old boroughs of Bethnal Green, Stepney and Poplar which since 1965 make up the current London Borough of Tower Hamlets, plus that area of Shoreditch around Shoreditch Church which since 1965 is part of the London Borough of Hackney. Although my mother was born in Hoxton (which is adjacent to, but not part of, the East End) where my grandfather had a market stall, her parents were born in Bethnal Green as were all of my father’s family. My cousins and I have traced many lines of our families back to the 18thcentury. We span 4 centuries and 10 generations in the area, at least. Welcome to my ancestoral homeland.

The East End encompassed London docks which meant that people have always arrived from all over the world and many settled nearby. Just in the relatively small circle of my own family history, through blood, marriage, kinship or family friendship I know of Irish, Welsh, Italian, Scottish, Jewish, Polish and Russian, French Huguenot, Indian, West Indian and Yorkshire. Every group that came to the East End brought their own customs. The Huguenot influence can be seen in our love of bright colours of clothing and the flowers of our little gardens, even if the only garden available was a yard or a veranda. The Jewish influence is famous and goes far beyond the food and the delicatessens (and bread). Limehouse was Chinatown for many years although it is now in Gerrard Street W1. They integrated while giving us the best of their culture. Until recent years.

Sylheti speaking seamen from the nation now called Bangladesh came through the docks even before the Second World War. During the war a mosque opened along Whitechapel Road for their use and that of other Muslims. From the late 1960s onwards more came and brought their families. But they didn’t integrate. The East London Mosque now covers the whole block between Plumbers Row and the Whitechapel Bell Foundry to the east, New Street to the west, Whitechapel Road to the north and Fieldgate Street to the south, other than the small and valiant Great Fieldgate Street Synagogue which the mosque covets but cannot have.

It isn’t the size of the Mosque complex (they are now building upwards, nine floors and counting) which is cause for concern, however, but the nature of their speakers and preachers, the malign influence of the Islamic Forum of Europe, the corruption of local politics and the imposition of Sharia law. The Telegraph Journalist Andrew Gilligan chronicles this regularly.

The following are a few the reasons why the English Defence League will be rallying in Tower Hamlets next week. The Home Secretary Theresa May, at the request of the Metropolitan Police, acting under the orders of the notorious Lutfur Rahman, the Mayor (for elected mayor, read Islamic dictator) has banned any march for a month through 5 London boroughs, Tower Hamlets, Newham, Waltham Forest, Hackney and Islington. So the demonstration will be a static one, which is our democratic right from which we cannot be banned.

Imposition of a Sharia controlled Zone.

I photographed these in Ford Square and nearby Sidney Street.

The treatment of Women

The hijab is near universal. The niqab is imposed on women in greater numbers than in Bangladesh itself.

In April a pharmacy assistant, not a Muslim and married to a Christian was threatened, as was the chemist shop where she worked under Hindu management, if she did not adopt a veil and Islamic dress code. “If she keeps working here and continues to dress like that, then we will boycott you because this is a Muslim area,” the chemist’s owner was told.

Advertising posters for swimming costumes have had burkas painted on to them. The same young man responsible for some of the anti gay stickers we spotted in October last year, about which more later, has also been convicted of criminal damage to advertising hoardings. But he is not alone.

The niqab is imposed as compulsory school uniform on girls as young as 11 at the Madani Islamic girls school in Mrydle Street behind the East London Mosque. I witnessed a young girl tearing off the face covering as she turned the corner of the road when I was there last year. At the time I thought she was waiting until she was out of sight of the mosque; I now suspect she was hurrying out of sight of her school.

I photographed these women entering and leaving the pupil’s gate of the school before the summer holiday began in July. Inset top left, the school address.

I can only conclude that this arrangement below which I photographed in Poplar in July is designed to allow the women of this ground floor flat to reach the veils and other garments just visible on the washing line at the far left above the curtains without having to don a previously laundered niqab before venturing into the sunshine.

These incidents do not stand alone. Others can be found by searching my blog articles going back to 2006.

Treatment of gays.

The most obvious example is the declaration, some months prior to the Sharia Controlled Zone, that Tower Hamlets is a “Gay Free Zone” My daughter spotted this sticker left at the Aldgate end of Whitechapel in October, and right in Sidney Street in August.

Western Complicity in the Rape of Boys in the Islamic World.

Recently and with much regret, the Australian Islamist Monitor ceased publishing.

The excellent writers at the Islam Monitor have not all hung up their keyboards, however, and Circe has written an incisive report on the rarely discussed position of boys in islamic societies.

Western complicity in the Rape of boys in the Islamic world.

Do we have any standards anymore? Do we stand for anything at all? What happened to the rights of the child or are they also suspended when Islam is involved? After all we say nothing about Islam’s legalised child marriage and sex with little girls or its violence to women and children and we never mention the rapes, murder, persecution etc against non-Muslims? Western soldiers fighting in Afghanistan look the other way as young boys are sodomised by Muslim soldiers, interpreters and war lords and this is passed off as a ‘cultural difference.’ Such violence against boys is certainly not limited to Afghanistan but seems spread across the Islamic world and has reared its ugly head in Australian detention centres.

BCF: TDSB Mosqueteria Cheerleader NAMF Hosts “Jews & Gays & Kaffirs Are Filth” Radical Cleric

Blazing Cat Fur, if the world today was remotely what it pretends to be, would be the recipient of a Pulitzer prize by now. All of Canada would be dozing at the switch to this day about the fact that all of Canada’s laws concerning religion in schools have been dutifully buggered by Muslims and leftists and that, ironically, ‘ultra conservative’ (as defined by the 1960s left) views like, ‘Jews and Gays are filth’ are about to be taught in Toronto publicly funded schools.

Please click over to BCF for the whole of this story reproduced below in part.

NAMF – the North American Muslim Foundation located in Toronto is hosting an Iftar & Lecture series during Ramadan.  NAMF has been an outspoken proponent of the Toronto District School Board’s “Islam First” mosqueteria policy, going so far as to have one of their “Volunteers” Omar Quyum, a TDSB teacher, write an article in “GTA Muslims”, “To Pray , or Not to Pray;  “Omar Qayum is a volunteer at the North American Muslim Foundation (NAMF ) and a teacher in the Toronto District School Board (TDSB).

“GTA Muslims” is an Islamist rag that has published justifications for the killing of gays, justification for the killing of  Salman Taseer,  terrorist screeds, and even an homage to a holocaust denier.

It’s OK to Kill Gays Once Sharia Implemented Says Local Muslim Crazy Person Jawed Anwar

Once again, from Blazing Cat Fur. The people that broke the story on the Toronto Mosqueteria which has caught fire in the MSM. At last.

Our good friend Jawed Anwar of  “TheMuslim.ca” never fails to surprise. Here’s his latest contribution to our multicultural mosaic of diversity. Once Sharia is implemented offing them Gays will be A OK!

Journey of Faith Conference: Zakir Naik to Bilal Philips

“Here Mr. Bilal Philips is suggesting a law for the future Islamic governments who will decide to implement Islamic law in their countries. Although, there is no clear-cut verse in Qur’an that categorically suggests killing of homosexuals, sayings of Prophet Muhammad suggests three types of sentences, and among that one is death. Bilal Philips is suggesting, based on his opinion on the Qur’anic/Prophetic principles of society. He is not advising the Islamic judiciary to kill any gay person they found, but what he is “suggesting” is judicial punishment of death sentence for those who confess or are seen “performing homosexual acts” by “four reliable witnesses without any doubt.”

Toronto’s fourth Journey of Faith Conference. Where you too can find tolerance through Islam’s Revelations and Prophetic Traditions!

Written by Grace

As the Toronto Star makes a brief mention of the Journey of Faith conference in Toronto this weekend, Xtra!, Canada’s gay and lesbian news offers a more in depth look into the organizations promotion of ” the understanding of Islam through the Revelations and the Prophetic Traditions.

While hundreds of thousands will be celebrating Pride this weekend, down the street the Metro Toronto Convention Centre an Ontario Crown Corporation, will play host to the popular, annual religious conference. Last year’s Journey of Faith conference saw over 10,000 Muslims and a scattering of non-muslims in attendance, all eager to take in themany speeches of renowned Islamic scholars from around the world.

If you’re at all confused by Islam, are a non-muslim interested in learning more about the faith or ever wanted to see what Islam truly teaches and what its values and principles are, the organizers at Journey of Faith extend a special invitation just for you! Forget Gay Pride-this is the place to be. Admission is free for non-Muslims and all are welcome to bring the kids, enjoy the crafts bazzar, assorted treats and who knows- maybe you’ll be lucky enough to sheikh hands with some prominent speakers imported from abroad.

So take some diversity time before lunch on Saturday or break away on Sunday to learn more about the most ‘misunderstood religion on earth’. Get to know some scholars and what they preach. Unsure of what to see first? How about taking in Dr. Bilal Philip’s lecture entitled Emman Town. The Journey of Faith site describes it as:

“Imagine a city of Faith, teeming with religious conviction, compassion, and cooperation. Dr. Bilal Philips will impart the blueprint of Madeenatur-Rasool (the city of the Prophet) to help us transform our homes, Mosques, schools and entire societies into powerhouses of Emaan, gleaming with and spreading the light of Islam. Join Dr. Bilal for the communal change of a lifetime”.

This esteemed popular scholar, teacher and author was born Dennis Bradley Philips in Kingston, Jamaica. At age 11 he moved to Canada settling down with his family. Before his conversion to Islam in 1972 he was a Communist Party activist. He graduated from the Islamic University of Medina with a BA and later obtained an MA in Islamic theology from the King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He now lives in Qatar and comes back to Canada to occasionally lecture. Continue Reading →

Antwerp: Sharia police patrols against gays, girls in short skirts

Via HLN, Lacquemant:

On Sunday night, June 12th, a gay guy was attacked by North African youth in Brussels. The youth beat him and tried to choke him. According to Bruno De Lille (Greens), Secretary of State for equal opportunities in the Brussels Region, most homophobic attackers come from the Muslim community, and that those acts are not linked to religion, but rather to a macho culture. He said there are also East-European homophobic attackers, and that those who express sentiments against women, often do the same towards gays.

According to Carim Bouzian, a gay immigrant from Antwerp, the situation in Antwerp is not much better than Brussels. Gays are reprimanded by the Islamic ‘morality police’, a group of older men and radical youth who feel they must warn gays about their ‘erroneous behavior’.

It starts off with various curses and ‘Don’t you know what the Koran says? You’re going to hell!’, and if you don’t answer right, you risk being punched.

Bouzian says that there’s no place in the city which is safe from this morality police. Gay couples who live in immigrant neighborhoods regularly get in their mail an envelope bearing verses from the Koran and containing a dead rat. But they also patrol the more upscale neighborhoods. A friend of his was attacked in broad daylight in the hip neighborhood of Antwerp South. Continue Reading →

East London Mosque breaks its promise on homophobic speakers after just eight days

From The Telegraph:

Earlier this month, reporting the East London Mosque/London Muslim Centre’s latest pledge to ban homophobic preachers, I described how the mosque has repeatedly lied and broken such promises before: waiting a couple of months until the coast is clear, then bringing the extremists back.

This time, however, it has only taken just over a week for the mosque’s bad faith to emerge. The day after tomorrow, 29 June, it welcomes to its premises an organisation called Sex and Relationship Education Islamic (SRE Islamic), one of whose main purposes is to campaign for “the unacceptability of homosexuality which is often portrayed as a lifestyle choice.” That’s a quote from the first sentence of SRE Islamic’s statement of values.

SRE Islamic is run by members of Hizb ut Tahrir, a racist and extremist group which believes that Muslims should not mix with non-Muslims. Hizb ut Tahrir says that Muslims who believe in democracy are “kafir,” or unbelievers. Hizb ut Tahrir works for a worldwide Islamic superstate, or caliphate (as does the Islamic Forum of Europe, which runs the mosque.) Continue Reading →
