The politically correct Lucy van Oldenbarneveld meets Tarek Fatah….

Yesterday, I went to see Tarek Fatah speak at the Writers Festival in Ottawa about his new book, “The Jew is Not My Enemy”.
He was terrific, to say the least. Funny, serious, and resolute in his defense of western values and the enlightenment. Scathing about radical Islam and pissed off that far too many people on the left don’t see the threat.
However, after his opening 15 minute talk, he then sat down for a discussion with Lucy van Oldenbarneveld, a CBC reporter.
She was horrible.
First Question: What’s wrong with women wearing a burka and other coverings?
Tarek answered that this was unacceptable for women to walk around in tents and that the thought process behind it was repugnant. Lucy’s second question was well, only a about one hundred women wear them, so why all the fuss. Fatah replied that you wouldn’t accept 100 people being kept as slaves -and that even one person being kept as a slave would be one too many.
Lucy wouldn’t give up. The next question was still on the same topic….perhaps we should recognize the courage these women have to wear the burka and show their independence.
By this time, Fatah was livid.
Van Oldenbarneveld decided to go on another tack – and the question was on Islamophobia in Canada. Fatah answered with a long list of Muslims who
have been elected to public office, and who have high positions in government, etc.
He wondered….where is all the Islamophobia??
She countered with a question about whether Muslims feel threatened because of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and threats against Iran.
Fatah answered that Muslims are killing Muslims in Pakistan, and that hundreds of thousands have died in Darfur. That’s real Islamophobia.
Not to be deterred, Lucy shot right back with a question about Islamophobia in Europe, and after Fatah answered that question, she came right back with a question about Islamophobia in Germany.

Once again the CBC shows contempt and scorn for Canada and democracy
The people at the CBC have crossed the line clean into treason at this point. They have assisted the people at Wikileaks, people who have published documents that will get many Afghans killed who cooperate with Western forces, Documents that are classified and now are in the enemies hands, CBC has actually indexed them for easier viewing and perusing. At least in terms of Canada’s participation. How is this not being a spy for the enemy? Why is the CBC or at least the people who are responsible for this post, not on trial for treason?

Stephen did in fact improve conditions for the Canadian military a great deal, undoing a lot of the damage from Chretien and Trudeau’s near obliteration of the Canadian military as a meaningful institution, and the Harper government continues to improve the equipment and resources available to our fine men in uniform.
The Myth of ‘stolen Palistinian Land’
It is my opinion that, as it has been said in the past, “Truth is the first casualty of war.” as such, the current war on the Jews waged world wide and especially hard at Western universities, it is widely accepted that the ‘Jews’ have perpetuated some kind of injustice on the Arab or Muslim peoples of the general area of Israel. Below, is a trailer for a fantastic documentary on exactly this subject. I post this as a kind of preview, as it is my expectation, that tonight or tomorrow, I will be uploading a documentary from French CBC in Canada, about the ‘Israel Lobby’ and how disproportionately powerful it is.
I have not yet seen it, but from what I have heard, it is the kind of ‘gas-in-the-truck on the way to Chrystal Nacht’ one would expect in pre war Germany.
This was shown on Canadian State TV, although granted, the sitting government does not directly influence what CBC shows when it is a conservative government.
In any case, its good to post a little truth now and again, and while we are still allowed to.

Government wants to help woman leave Saudi Arabia

Conservative and Liberal MP’s told CBC Radio’s Ottawa Morning Thursday that the federal government must continue putting pressure on the Saudi Arabian government to allow an Ottawa woman there to return to Canada.
Nazia Quazi, who graduated from the University of Ottawa and holds dual Indian-Canadian citizenship, alleges she has been unable to leave Saudi Arabia for two years because her father refuses to grant her permission.
Saudi law prohibits an unmarried woman from leaving the country unless she obtains her male guardian’s consent.
“We have to keep talking to both the Saudi government and to the father involved about why this just can’t continue in this way,” said Bob Rae, the Liberal foreign affairs critic Thursday.
Quazi, now 24, entered Saudi Arabia in 2007 on a visitor’s visa to see her family. She claims her father, an Indian national working in Saudi Arabia, sponsored her for a permanent visa without her knowledge, and took away her Canadian and Indian passports. Insurgent video shows Toronto student

CBC News has confirmed the identity of a Toronto man — believed to have joined an al-Qaeda-linked group in Somalia and killed in battle — on an insurgent group’s online video.
Mohammed Elmi Ibrahim, an English major at the University of Toronto, can be seen on the two-minute, nine-second video made in Saudi Arabia, in which he discusses the historical significance of his location.
According to a message that accompanies the video found on the al-Shabab website, Ibrahim was killed in battle, although his death has not been officially confirmed.
The message with the video, addressed to Canadian youth, says: “Dont be sadden [sic] but rather rejoice in the news of your dear brother and follow his foot steps and march forth in the ranks of the honest mujahideen, al Shabaab mujahideen.”
Ibrahim, who went by the nickname “Canlish” and was in his early 20s, disappeared at least a year ago and is believed to have joined the Somalian insurgent group al-Shabab. The group was recently added to the Canadian government’s terrorist list.
The designation came as members of the Somalian-Canadian community have reported that the group is trying to radicalize and recruit young Canadians.
Ibrahim had gone with a group to make the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca known as hajj. But he did not return with the group, and that’s when his family and intelligence agents in Canada concluded he had gone to fight with al-Shabab.

Does anyone remember ‘White Girl’?
The BBC Metropolitan elite hate and despise the Northern English working class. Their attitude (like Jack Straw and Harridan Harm-men) is that of the Party Members to the Proles in Orwell’s 1984.
‘White Girl’ illustrated this attitude to the extent that the programme virtually became a parody of itself. It was a crude exercise in Da’wa, Dhimmitude and Taqiyya. It started with the inevitable ‘It’s grim oop north’ opening cliche and then went steadily, tediously and predictably downhill for the next 90 minutes.
The Northern English were portrayed as squalid, drunken, junk-food eating, smoking, gambling, child-abusing, sex-mad, illiterate, intolerant, wife-beating, drug-dealing chavs – whereas the Muslims were simply wonderful.
The examination of the Death-Cult was minimal, with superficial references to Mohammed flying to Jerusalem and the 99 names of Allah.
A particulalrly naff scene was where the white girl ‘exorcised’ her vicious stepdad by repeatedly reciting the shahadah: “Ashadu an la ilaha illa-llah wa ashadu anna muhammadan rasulu-llah” – “I testify that there is no god worthy of worship but Allah, and I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”… Presumably this is based on the belief that you can get rid on one child-abuser by invoking the name of an even more depraved one.

Terry Glavin, one of Canada’s premiere journalists, and perhaps the person who knows more about the conflict in Afghanistan than any other Canadian reporter, is interviewed on Canada’s CBC program, Cross Country Check up. Terry speaks directly to some important misconceptions and rumors that effect public opinion and hence policy on Canada’s mission to Afghanistan. Agree with the mission and Canada’s role or not, Terry deserves to be listened to. His expertise and eloquence on this matter are required listening and reading on the question of Afghanistan and NATO’s mission there.

Here is a little video clip we threw together at Vlad showing how BBC the British state run media handles the same issue that Glenn Beck does. The issue is a rant done by a UK member of the European Parliament about the British prime Minister Gordon Brown and his handling of the economy etc. I made this video because the state owned TV BBC shows utter contempt for the British people and opposition to leftist government much like the CBC does to Canadian conservatives while ‘free’ media, meaning non government owned paid for and controlled, in this case Glenn Beck actually interviewed Daniel Hannon, the EUMP in question directly and showed a much longer clip for clearer context. I really enjoyed the snide cutting and contemptuous remarks about ‘the blogosphere’ from the BBC anchor. She must see her pension slipping away from her.

Izaiah Buksh is suffering from bruises and will need to undergo a root canal after what he says was a religiously charged fight that broke out at a ball hockey tournament in Burnaby, B.C., on Sunday.
The 20-year-old, who was playing in the B.C. Muslim Sports Association-sponsored event, said he was warned not to play in the tournament because, though he’s a Muslim, he is not a Sunni.
The mood of the game turned tense early on when his team took an early lead. Buksh said the opposing team, made up of Sunni Muslims, told him, “You guys shouldn’t even be here. You’re not Muslim.”
Violence ultimately escalated after a play where the opposing goalie swung his stick at Buksh.
Buksh said he went to tell the referee, and when he turned around, he was attacked by a player.
That’s when the fight broke out…
More on ‘Little Mosque on the Prairie’
At least one Canadian journalist has the stones to write something about this CBC travesty called ‘Little Mosque on The Prairie’ a patently absurd show which demonstrates just how much wishcraft is present in the Canadian political and media elite I say wichcraft because their seems to be a sentiment that if we wish that Islam was a nice fuzzy warm thing and depict it as such it will be.

At least this fellow did his homework and shows some of the brutal deliberate spin of the CBC and its attempt to make Islam look like a bunch of simple goat herds who decided to leave a thriving law practice in Toronto and become humble preachers of the religion of peace.

New low for the CBC or for Canada overall?
This may be the most horrifying story I have seen on the Canadian zeitgeist so far. My problem is, who do I direct my horror at. The CBC for possibly spinning it this way or the man quoted in the article for thinking as he does or for the lack of pure outrage this article should have caused nationwide.
The very idea that this man being stabbed to death unwarned by a stranger on a bus would have fought back in order to allow the rest of the passengers, also strangers to him, to escape unharmed is perhaps the most cowardly thing I have ever encountered as a thought process goes. This man is trying to turn what at least should be his guilt at not doing anything to stop this savage murder into a feaux tribute to his ‘saviour’ for as he intimates, consciously fighting back against his attacker for this purpose.
While its no surprise the CBC would run this story this way or hell just as likely created it this way its no less shocking and disturbing that they would. But mostly, its a sick twisted barometer of where the Canadian culture is at this time.
I would say more but I simply don’t have the adjectives necessary to express my contempt. This man should learn to live with his guilt and not assign fake thoughts to another who was murdered and he could have saved.
It’s just so nice that the rest of the passengers have formed ‘a support group’ for each other. I wonder if even a single one of them enrolled in martial arts or bought a weapon. Pathetic doesn’t even come close.

A witness to the gruesome stabbing of a Winnipeg man aboard a Greyhound bus said a final struggle between the victim and his attacker may have saved the lives of other passengers.
Stephen Allison of Fort Smith, N.W.T., said he and his wife, Isabelle, were sitting in a row across the aisle from Tim McLean, 22, and his alleged attacker, Vincent Weiguang Li, 40, on the Greyhound bus travelling from Edmonton to Winnipeg on the evening of July 30.
Tim McLean, shown in a photo taken from his MySpace page, struggled to escape his attacker and ‘was at one point fighting back,’ according to witness Stephen Allison. McLean was stabbed to death, then beheaded, in the incident. Li, of Edmonton, is charged with second-degree murder, and has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric assessment.
Early witness accounts of the attack suggested that McLean was asleep with his headphones on when the attack began and didn’t have a chance to put up much of a struggle before being killed.
But Allison said McLean fought for his life, struggling with Li in the aisle of the bus.
“Tim actually tried to get away,” he told CBC News from Winnipeg, in an interview that ran Tuesday.
“He jumped over Mr. Li, and was at one point fighting back.”
The 35 remaining passengers and the driver escaped from the bus. Li was arrested by the RCMP following a standoff lasting several hours.
Allison said McLean’s final struggle made all the difference to him, his wife and the other passengers.
“If it wasn’t for him, there could have been a lot more of us that never got off that bus,” he said.
“He made the ultimate sacrifice so that everyone else could get off and everyone else could live.”
The Allisons were travelling by bus from Fort Smith to visit family in Kenora, Ont., and to go to school in Winnipeg.
Stephen Allison said memories of the stabbing now keep them awake at night. He particularly recalls making eye contact with Li just moments before the incident began.
“Right when he pulled out the knife, he had looked at me first before leaning over to stab Tim,” he said.
“So in that second, I thought, this is the end for me.”
Allison said he has been in touch with some of the other passengers on the bus, as part of an effort to support each other and trying to cope with the horrific scene they witnessed that night.
