Why does this story matter? Don’t Jewish people also have proprietary methods for slaughtering animals and preparing foods?Why be so uptight just because Muslims also are doing it.

The above questions show a kind of false equivalence. What I call, the ‘intellectual slight of hand of moral relativism.’ Find the right layer of abstraction and make a comparison that has nothing to do with the issue. In this case the issue is two fold. 1. that local animal cruelty laws are being broken to satisfy the Muslim population’s requirements for food and 2. that they, food producers, distributors and retailers are allowed to do this without informing the public, and thereby removing any option of making moral choices about how animals are to be treated. Funny that PETA is not front and centre of this debate but PETA of course was never about animal rights and treatment so much as for the narrative.

Jewish laws probably also violate animal cruelty laws and probably should not be allowed in nations that have chosen to abolish certain animal practices as cruel. But at least Kosher products have always been clearly marked so that at least, if someone looked at a steak in a grocery store, they could choose to not-buy it as it was in opposition to how they, and for that matter I, want agricultural animals treated.

Chicken McHalal: McDonald’s denied using halal meat… now it admits meat IS in one of its most popular meals


Fast-food giant McDonald’s has admitted selling halal chicken without telling its customers. The poultry was used in popular menu items such as Chicken McNuggets and the McChicken Sandwich in its 1,200 British outlets.
The admission comes three weeks after the company categorically denied to this newspaper that it used any halal meat. Now McDonald’s has revealed that the firm that supplies its poultry, Cargill, produces halal chicken at one of its abattoirs.

In a statement to The Mail on Sunday, McDonald’s said: ‘As a result of your enquiries, our investigation has confirmed that some halal chicken has entered our supply chain without our knowledge, and we apologise to our customers for this.

‘While is it not a quality issue, halal chicken is outside of our specification. We have received assurances from Cargill that halal meat production from this abattoir has now stopped.’
McDonald’s says  all the chicken in its restaurants comes from poultry which has been stunned before slaughter. Meanwhile, Asda,   Britain’s second-largest supermarket chain, has admitted that much of its lamb and chicken is slaughtered according to Islamic ritual.

Already last year, the young Parisian “identitares” of the Apache Project had rung the alarm bells on anti-white violence. But it would seem that the Authorities, Paris Town Hall in the forefront are reluctant to see the truth.

DFAIT (Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada) made the news recently for its role in the decision to invite the extremist Canadian Islamic Congress to speak at an absurd DND event purporting to celebrate Islamic History Month. Bad enough I’d say but it always seems to get worse.

If you think Amsterdam is the gay capital of Europe, you’re half-right, but 10 years out of date. Today it’s the gay-bashing capital of Europe.

Because Amsterdam isn’t just gay. Now it’s Muslim, too. A million Moroccans and Turks have immigrated to the Netherlands, and sharia law rules the streets.

If you doubt it, then you haven’t been paying attention. Actually, that’s not fair. Gay-bashing is front-page news only when it’s committed by a straight, white male.

The media is terribly uncomfortable writing about gay-bashing by minorities. It’s the same reason why Canadian feminists are so eerily quiet about honour killings of Muslim girls.

According to an “offender study” by the University of Amsterdam, there were 201 reports of anti-gay violence in that city in 2007 — and researchers believe for every reported case there are as many as 25 unreported ones. Two thirds of the predators are Muslim youths.

The violence couldn’t be more brazen. It’s not in the back alleys in the dark, it’s in the heart of the city, often in broad daylight. It’s a direct dare to the Dutch government to show who rules the streets.

In 2008, 10 Muslim youths broke into a fashion show, dragged gay model Michael du Pree off the stage and beat him bloody. Last month, several lesbians were hit by beer bottles thrown at their heads as they marched in a parade of thousands to protest violence against gays. There’s a gay community centre in Amsterdam — you’d think that would be safe. Wrong. It’s a target, with home-invasion style beatings. No one is immune. This last one gives some sense of the magnitude of what the EDL is becoming. Make no mistake, the EDL could become, and perhaps already has, a real geopolitical force. Add to that the police made very deliberate efforts to cause groups of EDL people to not meet. Most who went to the rally where deliberately held up so that they arrived hours late. Others were taken hours early and some never made it to the location because of the arrangement that the police made, to transport EDL members on specific buses, which of course, acted on a hidden agenda.

I would like to post this 37 minute video here in response to some comments made by ‘Yahya’, who I believe is the key person of the blog that appears to have taken over for, or is at least connected to, a site Vladtepesblog has quoted from time to time, ‘Montreal Muslim News’. A site which published all sorts of highly illiberal fatwas, or Islamic rulings on, pretty much every single aspect of life and how a Muslim should do it, and often, how to impose that ideology on all the rest of us in Canada and by extension the rest of the Western, non-Islamic, world as well.

In a recent comment, Yahya made the statements:

Well, first of all, Muslims are in fact not trying to supplant what you call “our millennium old system of jurisprudence” by advancing a 7th century sharia code. I honestly don’t know where you come up with these fantasies. Many Muslim scholars and intellectuals have said there is no contradiction between western laws which are just and Islamic jurisprudence. The unifying principle is justice, and if a western law adheres to that principle then it is in accordance with Islamic law. Do you have something against justice?

Speaking of Islamic jurisprudence, what does anyone know of it here other than a small sampling of the penal code which is much more complex that how you may understand it. Once would have to study Islamic jurisprudence for years to address this topic in an educated way, yet people here cut and paste statements they get from a google search.

Ignoring the close call with the Clay Pot Logical Fallacy Yahya makes here, Muslims use the word Justice in a dramatically different way. Justice of course means, under the sharia, or that Islam is supreme while others “pay the jizya with willing submission and feel themselves subdued”.

Justice in no way means what Muslims know we think it does when they use the word. Less obtusely, Muslims use the word Justice, much like they use the concept of womens rights. Further, it is no fantasy that England has over 100 legal sharia courts operating now, and have hundreds more illegal ones. It is no fantasy that girls who run away from home because they are afraid of being killed by their families in England for adopting British culture, are being returned to their families by Muslim police from women’s safe houses so often, that women are now afraid to call emergency services for help.

It is no fantasy that in many western nations, illegal sharia ‘police’ patrol Islamic neighbourhoods making sure that women dress according to code and other aspects of sharia are observed to the extent they can get away with it. It is also no fantasy that many nations now find that food is halal and unmarked so that people cannot know that they are eating meat that has been butchered in a way that violates all cruelty to animal laws that our civilization has built over centuries. This means that people are violating their own principles often each day and are not even allowed to know it.

So in that light, I offer you this video.

Under the cover-up

A bikini ban for a Ramadan event at a public pool should not be taken lightly as it puts fundamental freedoms of Western society on the line.

A COUPLE of weeks ago a report surfaced about families being ordered to cover up before attending a public event to avoid offending Muslims during next year’s Ramadan in August. It involved VCAT approving a bikini ban for a community event to be held at Dandenong Oasis, a municipal pool. Dandenong Council, and pool managers YMCA, successfully sought an exemption from the Equal Opportunity Act to compel ”participants aged 10 and over” to ”ensure their bodies are covered from waist to knee and the entire torso extending to the upper arms”, and to refrain from wearing ”transparent clothing”.

Controversy erupted: tabloid TV lapped it up, talkback callers fulminated, bloggers pontificated, politicians, including Premier John Brumby, were quizzed. Amid the outrage came the predictable and inflammatory warnings that the ruling was evidence of a sinister plan to ”Islamise” Australia.

The ruling enforcing what VCAT described as ”minimum dress requirements” for Muslims was certainly novel. I’m not aware of any other instance in which the tribunal has made a religious dress code mandatory at a public venue – as opposed to a place of worship – let alone at the local swimming pool. In fact, the ruling was so novel that for some it simply couldn’t sink in.

Perhaps this is why some of the fair-minded people in my orbit initially doubted the story’s veracity. After reluctantly conceding it was indeed true, they still thought the thunderous response over the top. We’re talking about a one-off, two-hour event, they argued. It will be held when the pool is closed to the public and normally used for a women-only swimming session, the attendees of which are almost all Muslims. And hey, aren’t we all covering up to be sun-smart now anyway? (OK, maybe not in the middle of August.) Let’s keep things in perspective, they said.

Well, I agree perspective is crucial. And seen from a wider and deeper perspective, the Dandenong pool episode is neither trivial nor insignificant. It is but one example of human rights laws producing outcomes that restrict rights. It raises tough questions about how far public authorities ought to go in accommodating cultural practices that sit uneasily with mainstream Western values.

And it exposes some disturbing and hypocritical currents in progressive thought, a point best and fittingly made by a Dandenong-based Muslim women’s group, set up to help newly arrived Afghan migrants integrate into Australian society. ”I’ve spoken to a lot of women; they don’t want this,” Women’s Better World president Mandy Ahmadi told the Dandenong suburban newspaper, flagging her campaign to overturn the ruling. ”Enough is enough … why run from the Taliban to come to this?”

The largest council in the country is to stop providing homes for asylum seekers – so it can offer the properties to locals.

Birmingham City Council said last night that it had seen a surge in the number of existing residents who found themselves homeless in the aftermath of the economic slump.

Currently, nearly 200 homes are handed to asylum seekers who have been sent to the city while their applications are being processed by the UK Border Agency.

But the council is to cancel its contract with UKBA so the homes can instead be given to those who hail from the city.

Councillor John Lines, Birmingham’s cabinet member for housing, said the decision was ‘in the interests of local people’. He explained that the council expects nearly 8,000 applications for homes this year alone.

‘Over the last year, we have seen a sharp increase in the number of homeless people in Birmingham and we must help the citizens of this city first and foremost,’ he said. Continue Reading →

Which public servants should be paid more than the Prime Minister? Some might argue for an outstanding police chief or NHS executive. But not even the most devout defender of the status quo would nominate someone whose work is at best pointless and whose advice apparently given to the Government is potentially dangerous. Mohammed Abdul Aziz is a senior adviser within the Department for Communities and Local Government, working on, among other things, the “Prevent” strategy to curb home-grown extremism. He has visited several countries on our behalf, via such initiatives as “Projecting British Islam”.

This one seems to be a great deal better than the recent ABC one that was aired last week. Despite the all star cast, it fell somewhat short of expectations. This one which was recorded today in New York, although I have not seen it all in its entirety yet, seems much better and to the point. it also features Ayaan Hirsi Ali for the ‘not’ side as well as Douglass Murray.

Ottawa Imam and token president of the Canadian Islamic Congress, (I say token as Mohamed El Masry’s name, writing and influence was felt long after he was supposed to be gone) was invited and then un-invited to speak at Canada’s DND because his illiberal and extreme views and the views of his organization was exposed. He then did this damage control video. I hope this undoes it at least a little. Delic is An anaesthetist. He would have us believe that he does not want sharia law in Canada and that he holds other groups as equals. A closer look may show otherwise.
