At least three individuals, including two Pentagon Force Protection Agency officers, were shot at about 6:30 p.m. EST when shots were fired at the Pentagon Metro Station, which is just outside the Pentagon’s main entrance, The Washington Post reported March 4. At least two of the victims were alert and conscious while being transported to a nearby hospital. One person is in custody, and the Pentagon metro station has been closed.
U.S.: Pentagon Releases Statement About Shooting

A statement released by the Pentagon regarding the metro entrance shooting said that an unknown suspect fired at two Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) officers who returned fire on the suspect. The officers’ injuries do not appear to be life threatening, but the condition of the suspect — who is in custody — is unknown. All Pentagon entrances were briefly secured, but have since been reopened save for the metro entrance. The incident is under investigation, and more details will be released when available.
2 Pentagon police officers shot

WASHINGTON — A gunman coolly drew a weapon from his pocket and opened fire at the teeming subway entrance to the Pentagon complex Thursday evening, wounding two police officers before being shot and critically wounded, officials said.

The two officers suffered grazing wounds that were not life-threatening and were being treated in hospital, said Richard Keevill, chief of Pentagon police.

The suspect, believed to be a U.S. citizen, walked up to a security checkpoint at the Pentagon in an apparent attempt to get inside the massively fortified Defense Department headquarters, at about 6:40 p.m. “He just reached in his pocket, pulled out a gun and started shooting,” Keevill said. “He walked up very cool. He had no real emotion on his face.” The Pentagon officers returned fire with semiautomatic weapons.

Of the suspect, the chief said, “His injury is pretty critical.”

The assault at the very threshold of the Pentagon — the U.S. capital’s ground zero on Sept. 11, 2001 — came four months after a deadly attack on the Army’s Fort Hood, Texas, base allegedly by a U.S. Army psychiatrist with radical Islamic leanings. In the immediate aftermath Thursday, investigators did not think terrorism was involved but were not ruling that out and did not discuss possible motives.

Law enforcement sources identified the suspect as John Patrick Bedell, 36. They also said they were investigating whether a second person was somehow involved. No further information was available.

The subway station is immediately adjacent to the Pentagon building, a five-sided northern Virginia colossus across the Potomac River from Washington. Since a redesign following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the Pentagon, riders can no longer disembark directly into the building. Riders take a long escalator ride to the surface from the underground station, then pass through a security check outside the doors of the building, where further security awaits.

After the attack, all Pentagon entrances were secured, then all were reopened except one from the subway, said Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman.

Keevill said the gunman gave no clue to the officers at the checkpoint about what he was going to do.

“There was no distress,” he said. “When he reached into his pocket they assumed he was going to get a pass and he came up with a gun.”

“He wasn’t pretending to be anyone. He was wearing a coat and walked up and just started shooting.”

A Pentagon official working late in the building said people inside first heard of the shooting on television. They were later told the building was locked down and to stay in place.

Then at around 7:30 p.m., they heard an announcement on the public address system that they could leave through Corridor 3 — one widely used to get access to one of the parking lots.

“We really don’t know anything, just that we can leave now through that corridor,” one official said on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak about the incident.

Khaled Abu Toameh was formerly a senior reporter for The Jerusalem Report, and a correspondent for Al-Fajr, which he describes as a front for the PLO.[1] He has produced several documentaries on the Palestinians for the BBC, Channel 4, Australian, Danish and Swedish TV, including ones that exposed the connection between Arafat and payments to the armed wing of Fatah, as well as the financial corruption within the Palestinian Authority.[1]

Abu Toameh was born in the West Bank city of Tulkarem in 1963 to an Israeli Arab father and a Palestinian Arab mother from the West Bank.[2] Abu Toameh received his BA in English Literature from the Hebrew University and lives in Jerusalem with his wife and three children.

Hundreds of illegal migrants were regularly smuggled to Britain from France as part of a discounted “bulk service” provided by the “Baghdad ring” of people smugglers, a Paris court heard on Wednesday.

The £7000-a-head scam saw 1,000 foreigners transported to Channel ports like Calais and Cherbourg, where they were encouraged to jump aboard lorries heading for England and other parts of northern Europe between early 2007 and mid-2008.

Once they arrived in the UK, migrants, primarily Iraqis, but also Iranians, Afghani s, Pakistanis and Chinese, would claim asylum, or else disappear into jobs in the black economy.

Some migrants desperate to reach Britain paid up to £14,000 for a “bespoke service”, which involved travelling with false papers inside a camper van.

Details of the ease with which the smugglers, mainly Pakistanis and Afghanis nationals, regularly evaded British customs and security checks emerged as the 28 suspected smugglers went on trial in the Criminal Correctional Court in Paris.

Police from 10 European countries in June arrested 105 people in the biggest joint operation against illegal immigration staged by the European Union.

The defendants, who deny the charges, face up to 10 years in prison for criminal conspiracy and working as an organised gang to facilitate illegal entry and residency in France.

The Paris trial is set to run until March 26, with similar ones being held in Belgium, Germany and Holland.

Eric Besson, France’s immigration minister, has pledged to make ports like Calais “watertight” to illegal migrants, but there are currently some 1500 people sleeping rough in the area as they try to get to Britain.

Fritz Gelowicz, the ring leader, got 12 years, his German sidekick Daniel Schneider – both converts to Islam – 11 years while two accomplices were sentenced to five years each for their roles in a plot to detonate explosives 100 times more powerful than those used in the London Underground bombings of July 2005.

The four men, known as the “Sauerland Cell” after the tourist region where they stockpiled massive amounts of chemicals for the bombs, were jailed at the end of a nine-month trial.

In a rare move, prosecutors allowed them to plea-bargain their guilt in return for what the defendants hoped would be far shorter sentences.

Fundamentalist-infiltrated council steps back from the cliff edge – just

At the eleventh hour, Tower Hamlets has drawn back from an act of stupidity stunning even by its own standards. The council’s initial response to our revelations that it has been infiltrated by Islamic fundamentalists – revelations which the council leader refuses to deny – has been not to investigate the matter, but to attack one of the people who helped expose it.

In the ongoing takeover process of the council by the Islamic Forum of Europe (IFE), one of the key moments was the appointment of Lutfur Ali, a man with close links to the IFE, to the second most important job at the Town Hall – despite his palpable unfitness for the £125,000 post.

Apart from his IFE links, there wasn’t that much else going for Mr Ali. The council-appointed headhunters who considered applicants described him as “rather limited,” “superficial,” and “one-dimensional” and said he might “struggle with the intellectual challenges [of] a highly strategic role.” And the headhunters didn’t even know that Mr Ali had submitted a misleading CV, which gave false dates for a previous employment and omitted the fact that he had been forced to resign from that job for breaching the local authority code of conduct.

Mr Ali is responsible for council grants. Since his appointment, a lot more council money has started going to organisations closely linked to  – you guessed – the IFE. These organisations include a very generously-funded youth training project, Brick Lane Youth Development Association, or Blyda. Part of the purpose of this project, according to critics, is to take vulnerable young people off the streets and imbue them with the values of the IFE. Continue Reading →

Turns out CTV and CBC not surprisingly have sanitized this story quite a bit, omitting more onerous demands that men not face her etc. in the class. This women clearly went in with the intention of agitating and eventually going to the HRC. The plain fact is, this was tactical. The women never intended to go there to learn French, but to teach sharia for control and profit. Another thing that really annoys me about the Canadian attitude. In the CTV video below, you see some professional Canadian from some Multi-Culti board or another use the usual platitudes of compromise and balance. Utterly emetic.. To these spoiled civil servants, when a Muslim demands that all Jews in Canada be dead, they believe that it would be a satisfying decision just to make them all really really sick.

Quebec Immigration Minister Yolande James authorized the expulsion of a Muslim woman from a government-sponsored French class at Cégep St. Laurent, a report said Tuesday.

The student, an Egyptian who is a permanent resident of Canada and who wears a veil over her face known as a niqab, apparently refused to reveal her face in class and insisted male students not face her, according to La Presse.

The Cégep tried various ways to accommodate the woman between February and November 2009. But the situation became tense and created problems at the school.

Roger Giroux, the director of francization with the Quebec Department of Immigration, made several requests to the woman for her to remove the veil at the risk of being expelled. She refused and insisted that Giroux’s ultimatum be confirmed in writing. Giroux informed the woman in a letter that she was indeed required to remove her niqab in order to participate in the class, since part of the objective of the class is to encourage interaction with other students.

The woman was informed, however, that she could take the same class on the Internet.

The woman has since then apparently complained to the Canadian Human Rights Commission, which will study the complaint in the coming months, La Presse said.

The woman initially agreed to remove her niqab when meeting with a female student advisor and when posing for her school ID card. She also agreed to receive some instruction without the niqab from a female teacher in an isolated area of the school.

The school’s accommodations extended to allowing the woman to give an oral presentation at the far end of the classroom facing away from other students. It became difficult to provide the woman with the instuction that is part of the curriculum, the La Presse report explained, because it involves teaching proper elocution and seeing how a person pronounces words in French.

The report notes that although there are regular requests for special accommodations in French classes for cultural reasons – some of which are deemed acceptable and some not – the cases rarely lead to expulsion. This was the only student expelled because of that among 39,000 students last year.

As we reported earlier this evening, Geert Wilders and the PVV did well in the Dutch municipal elections today, especially in Almere. Our Flemish correspondent VH has been beavering away all night, translating news articles as well as Mr. Wilders’ speech in Almere.

ALMERE — “Today the Hague and Almere, tomorrow all of the Netherlands!” That was what PVV leader Geert Wilders told his supporters during the election rally in Almere. According to the preliminary results of the local elections, the PVV in one blow is the biggest party in Almere and the second biggest party in The Hague.

“When some six months ago we decided to participate in the municipal elections in Almere and the Hague, we were laughed at: ‘oh, they will surely not succeed in that.’ The leftist press thought it would not work anyway. We were cursed and intimidated, but we are the largest party.”

State owned media and incitement to murder

Vlad Tepes blog in cooperation with many fine people and organizations, coordinated by Gates of Vienna, has posted quite a few recent-history videos of and about Pim Fortuyn recently. There is a reason for it.

The government sponsored a campaign of demonization of former Member of Parliament, Pim Fortuyn and used the power of state owned media to create such a powerful and distorted image of him, that some ‘left wing activist’ eventually murdered him, despite the fact that he was a (to quote Mark Steyn) “Gay hedonist” and a classical liberal if not an actual socialist. Whatever he was, he was not a “far right wing politician” as he was reffered to by Dutch media constantly.

The exact same thing is being done to Geert Wilders and for the same reasons. He is running against the modern multicultural narrative and prefers free market economics as well as individual rights. Essentially classical liberalism as spelled out by people such as Thomas Jefferson.

When you see a set of events as we did with Mr. Fortuyn once, we can say ‘oh yes I can see how this may have led to that but who could have expected it.’

Well please have a look at the cartoon below published on state owned Dutch media and keep in mind, the bird is the symbol of Geert Wilders political party, the PVV

It doesn’t take a Derren Brown to see how this may influence the more suggestible of the Dutch population.

Now how about this for subtlety?

Any ideas who they are comparing Mr. Wilders, the man who frequently visits Israel and talks about protecting the now threatened Jewish and gay populations of the Netherlands from Muslims who preach the death of individuals from both groups, as a matter of common policy?

The eldest son of a founding member of the Palestinian militant group, Hamas, has said he worked as a spy for Israel for more than ten years.

In a new book, Mosab Hassan Yousef said that after being released by the Israelis following his arrest in 1996, he began to supply intelligence to Israel’s internal security service, Shin Bet.

He gave them information about suicide bombers and key leaders of both Hamas and its rival, Fatah.

Mosab Hassan Yousef now lives in exile in the US, where he spoke to the BBC’s Lyse Doucet.
