Jewish woman’s killer not criminally liable because he was high on marijuana, French judge rules

(JTA) — A Muslim man who killed his Jewish neighbor in Paris while shouting about Allah is probably not criminally responsible for his actions because he had smoked marijuana beforehand, a French judge ruled.

The preliminary ruling in the trial of Kobili Traore for the 2017 murder of Sarah Halimi came Friday from a judge of inquiry — a magistrate that in the French justice system is tasked with deciding whether indicted defendants should in fact stand trial.

Francis Khalifat, the president of the CRIF umbrella group of French Jewish communities, called the ruling “unsurprising but hardly justifiable.” He said his group and others will appeal in hopes of bringing Traore to trial.

He could be hospitalized for treatment of his psychotic lapses or made to attend a drug rehabilitation program, or he could be released.

Khalifat’s op-ed published Monday on the CRIF website follows a series of protests over perceived delays in Traore’s trial and the efforts, including by judges, that CRIF and others have condemned as attempts to prevent a murder trial.

Sammy Ghozlan, a former police commissioner and founder of France’s Bureau for Vigilance Against Anti-Semitism, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency in May that the handling of the Halimi case has made him “no longer have full confidence that anti-Semitic hate crimes in France are handled properly.”

In Canada in 2018, a Saudi got away with attacking a woman with a knife using a similar excuse.

A 14-year-old Syrian hit his female teacher five to six times — he had received negative attention in the past

The youth from Möriken-Wildegg talked a lot about the Quran, and during recess instructed girls to dress more modestly.

The case caused shock: last week the Argauer Zeitungpublished the news, that in Möriken-Wildegg a student from the Chestenberg school broke the jaw of a teacher by punching her with his fist.

He did this when she wanted to find out if the Syrian secondary-school student was carrying a knife — as he had already done in the past.

This time the case was taken up by the Weltwochejournalist Alex Baur. According to his research it is about a 14-year-old “M”.

He allegedly comes from a Syrian family with numerous children, who came to Switzerland exactly five years previously and allegedly lives on welfare. His German is good, and he is described as “quite intelligent, self-confident and quick-witted.”

Still, for a while “M.” had often allegedly been talking about the Quran. He also requested — “in Allah’s name”— that the girls from the area dress and behave more modestly. In this context he allegedly played with a knife on the Hellmatt School recess court. This, according to Weltwoche, resulted in his having to empty his pockets every time before being allowed to enter the classroom.

Two days in custody

Obviously, during such a search the attack against the teacher took place. She is said not to have touched the student, but instead only told him to show her the contents of his pockets. At that the teen has attacked her, and, according to eyewitnesses, on whose testimonies theWeltwocheauthor bases his story, he hit the 62-year-old female teacher five to six times with a fist and the edge of his hand.

Additionally, while she was fleeing he allegedly kicked her. The mother of two adult sons was about to retire. As Weltwochefound out from her environment, she is still in shock.

The Syrian was arrested shortly after the act. The youth has been released after having to spend two days in custody. The juvenile prosecutor is investigating.

It is not clear what will happen to him. He will not be going back to the Chestenberg district school. According to Weltwoche, one of his friends, also a Syrian, “had been expelled a year earlier from the Chestenberg district school due to discipline problems, and was put in special setting outside of the Chestenberg district school.”

André Schärer, the school district deputy from the Chestenberg school district, has neither confirmed nor contradicted the question from the Aargauer Zeitungabout the research, based on anonymous sources, by Weltwoche. He could only confirm that the Syrian stood out from the beginning. So Schärer also  heard that “M.” had allegedly told the girls on the recess court to dress more modestly:

“There are clearly certain signs that he doesn’t agree with the way we are cultivating our culture.”

In the media and in the village there’s a rumor that the wounded teacher had to spend a long time in the hospital. Schärer insists that this is not the case. “The Monday after the incident she was off. On Tuesday the incident was discussed in the class concerned with the school social worker. At that point the teacher was already present [in the school] for a couple of hours. From Wednesday to Friday she took care of the class.” Schärer did not want to be misunderstood, however: “I don’t want to downplay the incident; it is serious and should be most severely condemned.”

School district deputy: “We cannot give any more information.”

It took a week before the incident was made public. The school district deputy insists, however, that nobody wanted to sweep the case under the rug: “It happened on Friday June 28th. One day before the Youth Festival. Already that same evening we, with the [female] president of the school district, decided on a communication strategy; we decided to actively inform male and female students and the parents as much as possible.”

Of course, it was discussed during the Youth Festival, and the district had to listen to complaints that they wanted to hide something. “This isn’t correct. We wrote a letter to the parents during the week following the Youth Festival. Our hands are tied, because of the investigation by the juvenile prosecutor. Even if we wanted to give out more information, we are not allowed to.”

Kuwait City: Kuwaiti security authorities had arrested a terrorist cell linked to the Muslim Brotherhood wanted in Egypt to serve jail sentences on terrorism-related charges, the Interior Ministry said on Friday.

 

Members of the group had fled from Egypt to Kuwait, but were arrested in different places in the country.

They admitted in preliminary investigations to have mounted terrorist attacks in different parts of Egypt before escaping to Kuwait, the ministry said, according to the official Kuwaiti news agency KUNA.

 

“Investigations are still under to determine who helped them to hide and covered them up and collaborators with them,” the ministry said.

Islamic State released its first Turkey Province propaganda video, but ISIS has long had a significant presence in the country

ISIS released a propaganda video from ‘Wilayah Turkey,’ showing a small group of militants pledging bayah, or allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The eighth in the “And the best outcome is for the righteous” series, the video is the first from this new province, but ISIS already has a complex presence in Turkey.

 

The five-minute long video released on July 10 is typical of earlier bayah videos. It features three militants sitting in front of what appears to be a handmade, large black standard commonly used by ISIS. They are joined by two more when making the pledge of allegiance while a sixth presumably operates the shaking camera.

 

The speaker is identified as Abu Qatada at-Turki, and he reaffirms the militants’ allegiance to Baghdadi while also threatening Turkey and America.

 

A weapons researcher known as Calibre Obscura noted that the militants appear well-armed in comparison to fighters seen in other videos in this series. A Draganov sniper rifle, a PKM machine gun, an RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenade launcher, two AKMS assault rifles, a Glock pistol, and some grenades appear throughout.

The Minister of International Development and Minister for Women and Gender Equality Maryam Monsef made the announcement in G7 development ministerial meetings in France earlier this month.

 

The Global Affairs Canada said in a statement “On July 4 to 5, 2019, the Honourable Maryam Monsef, Minister of International Development and Minister for Women and Gender Equality, attended G7 development ministerial meetings in Paris, France, where she met with her development counterparts and with education ministers from other G7 countries.”

 

The statement further added “During the meetings, Canada announced a CAD 400-million commitment to women and girls’ education in fragile, conflict and crisis situations, in support of the G7 Charlevoix Declaration on Quality Education for Girls, Adolescent Girls and Women in Developing Countries.”

8. Rackete files suit against Salvini

(ANSA) – Rome, July 12 – Sea-Watch3 skipper Carola Rackete on Friday filed a suit to close Interior Minister Matteo Salvini’s Facebook and Twitter accounts because they allegedly stoked hate against her and the Sicilian prosecutor who released her after she defied the minister’s closed-ports policy, Alessandra Vella.

 In the suit, which attached rape threats against her from social media haters who allegedly responded to Salvini’s criticism, the 31-year-old German migrant rescue ship captain argued that far-right League leader Salvini, who called her “a rich Communist scamp who shops in Portofino”, spreads hatred and instigates people to commit crimes.

Salvini has dismissed claims, notably from 5-Star Movement (M5S) equal opportunities cabinet secretary Vincenzo Spadafora, that his comments on Rackete were sexist, saying he would have said the same things about a man.
    He has called on Spadafora to resign “if he can’t stand being in government with dangerous male chauvinists and fascists”.
    The anti-establishment M5S is the League’s partner in Italy’s populist government.
    Spadafora stands by what he said and refuses to resign.
    Salvini reacted to Rackete’s announced suit Thursday by saying “the German Communist, the one who rammed the finance guard patrol boat, has asked prosecutors to close my Facebook and Twitter pages.

Daniel Greenfield has revealed that Izmir Koch is a Turkish Muslim, hailed along with his two brothers by the Dayton Daily News in 2014: “They’re paying taxes on the property and created jobs for the area right here.” But they also brought crime. Greenfield notes, among other things, that “Izmir had already been facing two counts of felonious assault, one involving a deadly weapon, from 2016.”

10. Albanian Police Arrest Russian ‘ISIS Fighter’

A Russian national accused of fighting for the ISIS militant group against Syrian government forces was arrested in Albania and will be extradited to Russia, Albanian police said on Friday.

Police said the 34-year-old man, identified as R.M., who was born in and a resident of Norilsk in Russia, entered Albania illegally after a court in Russia’s Chechen Republic ruled in April 2015 he should be arrested for being part of a terrorist group.

“In June 2013, this citizen left Russia for Syria, joined the illegal armed group named ‘ISIS’ and was an active participant in fighting against government forces in Syria,” a police statement said.

A stunning display of hypocrisy at a “freedom of speech” conference

It is established that Twitter has agreed to conform to Pakistani blasphemy laws.

It is stunning that at a free speech event, RT is banned but the CBC and BBC are not although the reasons for banning RT (presumably) apply more to the CBC and BBC.

The Rebel managed to attend but they clearly attempted to stop Ezra from asking the only question that mattered. This was a stage managed event and no dissent was to be permitted, and the Pakistani censors must not be challenged.

This is a truly outstanding moment by The Rebel’s Ezra Levant, equalled perhaps only by his appearance as a defendant at the disgraceful Canadian ‘Human Rights Commissions’.

Freedom of speech is dying all over the world and the UK appears to be the vanguard of the new totalitarian push against freedom of speech.

This seems like a good time to restore the video of the RT presentation at OSCE last year. I find RT’s presentation fits the facts, and very often their reporting is far closer to an accurate representation of the facts in many cases than is the socialist media, BBC, CBC etc.

(I would like to have a close look at the metric used to determine this. The UK, stunningly and at the moment, has far more press freedom than Canada does. But that does not mean it has press freedom. Its like saying Poland had more freedom than the Czech Republic during the Cold War. Latest global ranking places Britain behind Uruguay, Samoa and Chile for restrictions on reporters

The UK has one of the worst environments for press freedom in western Europe, according to a global ranking that places Britain below the likes of Uruguay, Samoa, and Chile for restrictions on reporters as they seek to hold power to account.

 

Reporters Without Borders, which campaigns for journalistic freedoms, said the UK ranked 40th out of 180 countries on its annual World Press Freedom Index, leaving it ranked between Trinidad & Tobago and Burkina Faso.

 

The campaigning organisation cited proposals to introduce tougher press regulation, the government’s campaign to limit encryption on services such as WhatsApp, and restrictions by Labour and the Conservatives on journalists’ access to politicians during the 2017 general election as evidence of a “heavy-handed” approach towards the media in the UK.

(This was April 25th, 2018. Depending on how one views the events surrounding Tommy Robinson, I would think that ranking would now drop quite a bit. Somewhere approaching Turkey.)

Britain’s Foreign Office can’t keep its diplomatic secrets, but it has managed to keep its sense of irony, and banned RT from attending a conference on media freedom.

 

A spokeswoman told British

media: “We have not accredited RT or Sputnik because of their active role in spreading disinformation.”  

The accusation of ‘disinformation’ is the exclusive view of the Foreign Office, because it’s worth remembering that while RT has been censured by OFCOM (like every other broadcaster in Britain), it still operates freely under a license from the broadcasting watchdog, so this claim of disinformation is at best subjective.

 

After it was prevented from attending the Global Conference for Media Freedom: London 2019, RT replied:

“It takes a particular brand of hypocrisy to advocate for freedom of press while banning inconvenient voices and slandering alternative media.”

I think I can state with confidence that the left, is far more yolked with confusing the sexual identities of children than they are with islamic values. Islamic values are relatively stabilizing to a society in its own totalitarian way, which is antithetical to leftist ambitions.

The left seeks to use muslims and islam as its chief weapon against classical civilization. It will be damned if it will see its weapon used in any manner that does not advance its agenda of the total and complete collapse of Western civilization, and that collapse means the end of religion, certainly Christianity, the end of the Jews as a distinct people, and the end of the family by the war of men against women, and men against themselves, and every other possible permutation including but not limited to, the fantastical notion that there is no biological reality.
