Islam Vs. science. A two hour debate.

For those who have a little extra time over the holidays, check out this debate between a world renowned theoretical physicist/cosmologist and some trite little tard who juggles various sophistries and simple rhetorical tricks to try and placate his mostly religious islamic audience for even allowing this kufar in the room.

I must say though, at least his arguments did not end with, “Believe this or we kill your family”. Yet.

For those who would like to skip the opening argument by the sophist, go to the 30 minute mark to hear the cosmologist rip him, and islam, a quantum black hole.

Forum on Islam sparks heated debate at Orland Park Library

What a southwest suburban library had promoted as an educational forum this week on Muslim life in America quickly turned into a contentious debate about Islam.

The tone for the Thursday evening event was set while the three panelists at the Orland Park Library were still introducing themselves. In the first of many interruptions, a half-dozen audience members stood up and demanded that everyone recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

Library Director Mary Weimar denied their request. She explained that it wasn’t standard practice to recite the pledge at library events and requested that the attendees show more respect for the panelists.

PRESS RELEASE: Conway Hall cancels hall booking for debate event with Tommy Robinson, head of the English Defence League

Now this is interesting. If you think about this article, even just the headline for less than one minute it becomes obvious that this is a debate more easily won by the cancelation than had it taken place.

When reading it, it is 100% clear to all parties involved that the danger to the public would be by Muslims. Not by the EDL, or ‘fascist’ groups or anyone other than Muslims who would attack this event.

Everyone knows it and no one would even deny it if you allowed them to word it in a slimy way.

So as the debate question was,

‘Islam and Islamophobia: which is a threat to Britain?’ 

The answer is a clear clear win for Tommy Robinson without even showing up.

The danger is Islam.

MDI regretfully announces that the venue for our public debate with Tommy Robinson on ‘Islam and Islamophobia: which is a threat to Britain?’  – the Conway Hall – has cancelled our booking for 4th October 2012.

Conway Hall, has decided based upon advice from the Police, and under pressure from various anti-fascist organisations and at least one MP, that the event may put the public at risk to public health and safety concerns under the current climate. Despite the security procedures of MDI within the building, the Venue Director was concerned about the safety of attendees outside the hall when going to, and leaving the event. Therefore, Conway Hall has informed Muslim Debate Initiative that for the time being, they will have to cancel the hire of the hall to MDI for this public event.

We regret the decision of Conway Hall to not allow MDI at this time to host Tommy Robinson of the English Defence League as part of an open public debate.

We at Muslim Debate Initiative believe strongly in the need for debate, as a means to discuss and express intellectual and political difference of opinion, and thereby facilitate the public to reach a educated conclusion and judgement upon any matter. MDI believe that there should be no limits to what can be sincerely debated, and no restrictions as to what intellectual or political position can be enunciated for the deliberation of the public and the pursuit of truth and clarity.

This is a repost of a portion of a significant debate between Dr. Wafa Sultan, Syrian born psychologist now living in the USA, and an influential muslim jurist who was an inspiration to the London 7/7 bombers among other affronts to civilized society.

I repost it as, on request by the ABN, I re edited the video using much higher resolution files supplied by the station itself and upon completion realized it was probably worth reposting in case anyone has not already seen it yet.

This is one of the clips that really, everyone needs to see. It is Islam as it really is.

Rally for Free Expression: One Law for All

The One Law for All (OLFA) campaign will be holding a rally for free expression in London on 11 February between 14:00 and 16:00. OLFA campaigns against the encroachment of religious laws, in particular the rapidly growing reach of Sharia within the UK, and for the observance of the principle of one secular law for all. This principle provides the necessary preconditions for freedom of thought and expression, but alas of course does not necessarily guarantee them (e.g. witness the many pieces of legislation regarding thoughtcrimes against ‘diversity’, etc).
The reason for calling this protest at this point in time is explained by its organisers Maryam Namazie and Anne Marie Walters as follows:
The call follows an increased number of attacks on free expression in the UK, including a 17 year old being forced to remove a Jesus and Mo cartoon or face expulsion from his Sixth Form College and demands by the UCL Union that the Atheist society remove a Jesus and Mo cartoon from its Facebook page. It also follows threats of violence, police being called, and the cancellation of a meeting at Queen Mary College where One Law for All spokesperson Anne Marie Waters was to deliver a speech on Sharia. Saying ‘Who gave these kuffar the right to speak?’, an Islamist website called for the disruption of the meeting. Two days later at the same college, though, the Islamic Society held a meeting on traditional Islam with a speaker who has called for the death of apostates, those who mock Islam, and secularist Muslims.

US presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich (whose Lazarus-like trajectory to the Republican nomination I flagged up here a month ago) has recently demonstrated yet again Melanie’s First Rule of Modern Political Discourse – the more obvious the truth that you utter, the more explosive and abusive the reaction.

For Gingrich said the Palestinian Arabs were ‘an invented people’ – and the world promptly started hurling execrations at him, as if such a statement proved beyond doubt that Gingrich was indeed a dangerously extreme individual who, when it came to political positioning, was just off the graph altogether.

Muslim students, including trainee doctors on one of Britain’s leading medical courses, are walking out of lectures on evolution claiming it conflicts with creationist ideas established in the Koran.

Professors at University College London have expressed concern over the increasing number of biology students boycotting lectures on Darwinist theory, which form an important part of the syllabus, citing their religion. 

Similar to the beliefs expressed by fundamentalist Christians, Muslim opponents to Darwinism maintain that Allah created the world, mankind and all known species in a single act.

Steve Jones emeritus professor of human genetics at university college London has questioned why such students would want to study biology at all when it obviously conflicts with their beliefs.  Continue Reading →

Dawkins attacks ‘alien rubbish’ taught in Muslim faith schools

So glad to hear some atheists speaking up on issues which they should be the front and center of, but are usually more politically correct than the other religious people.

Richard Dawkins has attacked Muslim faith schools, saying that they teach students ‘alien rubbish’.

The noted atheist claimed that pupils were being taught to ignore scientific evidence in favour of following the Koran.

He said that he had even met a science teacher who believed that the earth was only 6,000 years old.

Mr Dawkins, a former Oxford professor who found fame as an evolutionary biologist before becoming a vocal opponent of religion, is a longstanding critic of all faith schools.

But he has said that Islamic schools are worse than others, as their teaching is more likely to be influenced by a religious agenda. Continue Reading →
