Links for Dec 21 2010

It is stunning how long it took, and how many resources to announce the bloody painfully obvious. What this article says, is what was known for all of human history till the various Frankfurt school variant ‘scientists’ started trying to remake reality in Marx’s image. Check out this link for reassurance that what you always knew, was right and the crap you have been spoon fed by SOB’s like Dr’s Money is commie nonsense.

Here is an article which really should get it’s own post. It is on the sentences handed down to some EDL members and in stark contrast to how illegal Muslim rapists and violent criminals are treated. This is worth the effort to read.

Here is a cool story about an ancient Druid site, older than the pyramids and set up so that the burial chamber lights up brilliantly only one day a year on the winter solstice. Over 35,000 people are expected to show up to witness the spectacle. I wish I was one of them.

Here is a BBC bit about a UN report on how Christians are fleeing Iraq by the thousands for safer areas where they are not being slaughtered by Muslims.

From Winds of Jihad:

The elimination of Western culture & civilization is  a done deal according to these documents from the planned Euromediterranean Process, of which few have heard.  In reality, this is the biggest treason in history – and the most intelligent, done by stealth, lying/concealment, demoralization, dechristianisation, and corruption.

More Christians murdered in Iraq for being Christians

From Breitbart

A string of anti-Christian bombings has cost six more lives in the wake of the Baghdad church bloodbath, sowing panic in Iraq’s 2,000-year-old minority on Wednesday, many of whom now want to flee.

“Since Tuesday evening, there have been 13 bombs and two mortar attacks on homes and shops of Christians in which a total of six people were killed and 33 injured,” a defence ministry official said. “A church was also damaged.”

An interior ministry official earlier gave a casualty toll of three dead in 12 of the attacks across the Iraqi capital early on Wednesday.

The attacks come less than two weeks after 44 Christian worshippers, two priests and seven security personnel died in the seizure of a Baghdad cathedral by Islamist gunmen and the ensuing shootout when it was stormed by troops.

On November 3, Al-Qaeda claimed responsibility for the cathedral hostage-taking and warned it would step up attacks on Christians.

As Christian converged on their churches on Wednesday to seek counsel from their religious leaders, a Syriac Catholic archbishop made an emotional appeal for Western countries to come to their rescue.

“It would be criminal on the part of the international community not to take care of the security of the Christians,” Athanase Matti Shaba Matoka said inside the church targeted on October 31 where he tried to console his flock.

“Everybody is scared,” he said. “People are asking who is going to protect them, how are they going to stay on in Iraq. We are trying to encourage them to stay patient.”

The scarred church in the central district of Karrada became a focus of the fears of Christian families.

“For the past two years now my wife has been trying to persuade me to leave the country, but I didn’t agree,” said 42-year-old labourer Raed Wissam from the Dora district of southern Baghdad.

“Today, I feel sure she’s right because I don’t want to feel guilty if something bad happens to one of my children.” Continue Reading →

Failed Al Qaeda plot involved sewing bombs inside dogs

See Spot explode!

Al Qaeda operatives in Iraq tried to unleash deadly terror in the skies by deploying a pair of kamikaze canines on a US-bound plane, a French newspaper reports.

The diabolical plot failed because the bombs were so badly stitched inside the poor pooches that they died, said the respected Paris daily Le Figaro.

“This case illustrates the determination of al Qaeda militants, who are trying to circumvent terrorism controls by any means,” French criminologist Christophe Naudin, an aviation security expert, told the newspaper.

Curse the judge, shout fanatics as the Muslim girl who knifed MP smiles as she gets life

The Independant:

A judge was subjected to a tirade of abuse in his own courtroom yesterday as he jailed an Al Qaeda-inspired Muslim woman for attempting to assassinate an MP.

Islamist protesters harangued Mr Justice Cooke from the public gallery at the Old Bailey, shouting ‘Allahu akbar’ (‘God is great’), ‘British go to hell’ and ‘Curse the judge’.

The outbursts came as Roshonara Choudhry, 21, was sentenced to life imprisonment for stabbing former minister Stephen Timms. Choudhry smiled broadly as the judge told her: ‘You said you ruined the rest of your life. You said it was worth it. You said you wanted to be a martyr.’

Outside, a second group demonstrated as the judge told the high-flying student – who stabbed the politician twice in the stomach as ‘punishment’ for voting for the Iraq invasion – that she must serve at least 15 years behind bars.

The chaotic scenes unfolded as Home Secretary Theresa May dramatically revealed that the Al Qaeda gang behind last week’s ‘Lockerbie-style’ cargo plane bomb plot are already working in the UK.

In court the judge pointedly contrasted Mr Timms’ Christian beliefs with the ‘distorted thinking’ of his attacker, who refused to recognise the court and appeared by videolink for her sentencing.

“We will open upon them the doors of destruction and rivers of blood,” said a statement posted on a militant website by the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI), an al-Qaeda front.

The ISI claimed responsibility for an attack on a Roman Catholic church in Baghdad on Sunday evening which left 42 worshippers, at least six police and all nine assailants dead.

Al-Qaeda or other Sunni militants are also presumed to be responsible for a wave of bombings across Shia districts of the city that killed 76 people on Tuesday night.

The failure of the main political parties to form a government since March has meant no united face has been put against violence.

The political grouping backed by most Sunnis, Iraqiya, is also threatening to abandon talks and accept an opposition role, which could lead to more discontented followers being tempted to join militant groups.

While Iraqi Christians have been under siege since the fall of Saddam Hussein, the sudden public threats mark a new development. “All Christian centres, organisations and institutions, leaders and followers are legitimate targets for the muhajedeen [holy warriors] wherever they can reach them,” the ISI said.

It called the Pope, who issued a letter of condolence over the killings, “the hallucinating tyrant of the Vatican” and said Christians would be “extirpated and dispersed” from Iraq.

Half of all the 800,000 Christians who remained in Iraq by the time of the 2003 invasion have since fled the country after waves of bombings and shootings. The threat of more violence appeared to confirm fears in a Washington report that stability in Iraq might be “years away”.

Iraq al Qaeda more lethal as homegrown insurgency

By Suadad al-SalhyPosted 2010/10/26 at 8:43 am EDT

BAGHDAD, Oct. 26, 2010 (Reuters) — Al Qaeda’s Iraqi branch has evolved into a homegrown, more lethal and bolder insurgency comprised of Iraqi fighters hardened in U.S. prisons and posing a challenge to Iraqi forces, military officials say.

The insurgency has been strategically weakened by the deaths of leaders, and both its numbers and the territory in which it can maneuver have shrunk since 2006-07, when Sunni tribal chiefs turned on it and joined forces with the U.S. military.

But what Iraqi officials call the “third generation” of al Qaeda in Iraq may be more difficult to fight than before because its fighters can blend in, know the weaknesses of Iraqi society, and are more interested in making a spectacular splash with their attacks than in battlefield victories.

Their assaults are aimed at grabbing attention and rattling the population at a time when sectarian tensions are fraught because of the failure of politicians to agree on a new Iraqi government seven months after an inconclusive election.

“We face the third generation of al-Qaeda now, a generation that mostly graduated from (U.S. detention camps) Bucca, Cropper and other such places,” said Major General Hassan al-Baidhani, chief of staff for the Baghdad operations command.

Al Qaeda has shown “a new type of boldness,” attacking heavily protected targets and security forces head on, Baidhani told Reuters. “This strategy depends basically on shock. They are not looking for success as much as looking for attention.”

Shi’ite Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki is battling to retain his job, opposed by the Sunni-backed, secular Iraqiya alliance of ex-premier Iyad Allawi and some erstwhile Shi’ite allies.

If Iraqiya ends up being sidelined, the Sunnis who voted for it in March may react in outrage and return to supporting the Sunni Islamist insurgency, security officials say.

In the run-up to the 2003 U.S.-led invasion, the Bush administration accused Saddam Hussein’s regime of having links to al Qaeda as part of its campaign to bolster support for war.

No ties were ever proven but al Qaeda was quick to take advantage of the post-invasion chaos to establish a presence in Iraq.

Iraq: Aziz urges Obama to not ‘leave the country to wolves’

This is a very interesting article. Thanks Gates of Vienna for the tip

Iraq: Aziz urges Obama to not ‘leave the country to wolves’

Baghdad, 6 Aug. (AKI) – Tariq Aziz urged the United States to not withdraw its troops from Iraq because doing so would signify “leaving Iraq to the wolves.”

In an interview with The Guardian newspaper from his prison cell, Saddam Hussein’s former loyal deputy expressed his disappointment with American president.

“I thought he was going to correct some of the mistakes of Bush,” the paper quoted Aziz as saying from his jail cell in north Baghdad. “But Obama is a hypocrite. He is leaving Iraq to the wolves.”

“We are all victims of America and Britain,” Aziz told the British daily, in his first interview since being captured following the fall of Baghdad around seven years ago. “They killed our country in many ways. When you make a mistake you need to correct a mistake, not leave Iraq to its death.”

Aziz said he kept the world guessing about the possible existence of an arsenal of weapons of mass destruction more to appear strong to Iraq’s regional rival Iran than to taunt the US and Britain. Continue Reading →

Rules of Engagement and Col. Allen West

Here is a campaign video from Lt. Col. Allen West, a name readers of Vlad I’m sure will be familiar with for a variety of reasons.

This video says a great deal about how the rules of engagement even in Iraq basically made the job difficult as well as dangerous for allied forces. Sooner or later, we need to decide to win wars if we are to enter them.

Man sells own daughter into sex slavery. Escaped daughter does 2 years jail.

H/T to Bill Warner’s excellent newsletter on the oppression of women world wide.

From Assyrian Intl. news agency

Baghdad, Iraq (CNN) — At one of Baghdad’s two female juvenile prisons, the young Iraqi girls live in limbo, sadness and desperation permeating every aspect of their interrupted lives.

Some face punishment for prostitution. Others are charged with ties to terrorism. And then there are the victims, also behind bars.

Fifteen-year-old Zeina’s sad journey to prison began two years ago when she says was sold into sex slavery. “My father came and took me to go visit my grandfather in Syria,” says Zeina, “and I went with him.”

The family trip turned out to be a cover story, and Zeina found herself faced with the most horrific possible reality. She says she was then forcefully taken from Syria to the United Arab Emirates and sold into sexual slavery.

But Zeina refused to surrender to such a horrendous fate. And when the opportunity presented itself, she ran away. “I’m proud of myself,” explains Zeina. “I turned myself into the police and decided not to stay in that situation.” Continue Reading →

Iran begins to exert its military might on the region

June 1, 2010 STRATFOR:
Iranian forces moved about five kilometers (three miles) into the Kurdistan region in Iraq and established military camps on June 1, PNA reported. Bases were established in the Weze and Kani Rash villages in the town of Choman. An unnamed Iranian source said the troops will remain in the area for an unknown amount of time and had fired on civilians to force them to leave. Approximately 220 families in the Iran-Iraq border villages have fled.

Iraqi women on the margins of the election

From Foreign Policy. By Zainab Salbi, founder and CEO of Women for Women International.

Another political event takes place in Iraq without much mention of women. And in the rare occasion that women are mentioned, it is often with the token spirit about how wonderful it is that they now have 25 percent of political seats in the Iraqi parliament.

The fact that most women were comfortable in using their images and names in public billboards for their nominations reflects some comfort with women’s mobility in the public space in Iraq. Pictures of women in billboards were diverse-from artistic pictures of women without headscarves, to pictures of women covered head to toe, to even a picture of a woman with her entire face covered.  The lack of vandalism on these billboards shows the more accepting attitude of this election.  The fact that there is now an all-female political party, founded by Jenan Mubarak in her own name, also says a lot about a level of comfort in the country, despite the inconsistent security-or rather the more consistent insecurity-of Iraq. Food poisoning plot at U.S. military base might be linked to wider network

HT jdamn

CANADAFREEPRESS… Reports are emerging that up to five Muslim Arabic translators who are part of an Arabic translation program identified as “09 Lima” at the Fort Jackson, SC U.S. Military training facility were questioned and detained last December regarding a plan to poison the food supply at the military base.  The program consists of individuals whose “first” language is Arabic. They are categorized, according to the U.S. Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) code, as translators/interpreters.

News reports cite Chris Grey, a spokesman for the Army’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID), speaking to Fox News and local affiliates that the investigation began two months ago although so far, “there is no credible information to support the allegations.”
According to a military source at the installation speaking to this investigator on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitive and ongoing nature of this investigation, however, paints a somewhat different picture. According to this source, “hints of an alleged plot to poison the food supply at the military installation was uncovered during the course of another, unrelated investigation into the disappearance of five Washington, DC area Muslims who went missing in late November, and who are believed to have traveled abroad for Islamic jihad training.”
Initially, one of the Arabic translators at Fort Jackson was believed to have been in contact with at least one of the five missing Muslim students. The investigation developed from there, and ‘some level of communication’ was discovered to suggest a plan to poison the food supply at the base. Although never put into action, the investigation widened as it appeared to involve at last three to four additional Arabic translators, all Muslims specifically recruited for the army’s translation program,” stated this source.

This source added that while the plan “was discovered at it’s most early stages, it is still a matter of grave concern”.

News of the alleged plot comes on the heels an extensive reports of Islamic jihad infiltration in American prison and military installations.

Iran uses ‘enemies of God’ charge on protesters

(CNN) — Iran hanged two men at the end of January — the first political prisoners known to be executed in Iran since the demonstrations protesting the re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, according to Amnesty International.

It’s still not entirely clear what Arash Rahmanipour and Mohammad Reza Ali-Zamani’s crime was. Rahmanipour’s lawyer said he was already in jail on election day in June 2009, so he couldn’t have been involved in the post-election uprising, she said.

But whatever their earthly crimes were, the two men executed last month were also accused of another offense far more serious than simply protesting against a government.

They were convicted of being “mohareb,” enemies of God.

That is the worst possible crime in Shiite Muslim law, according to Abbas Milani, the director of Iranian studies at Stanford University.

The legal implications are clear, he said.

“A mohareb, according to Shiite law, is executed,” he said.

That the regime is labeling its opponents enemies of God is a sign of how rattled it is by the protests, he said. Continue Reading →
