Momin Khawaja’s sentence on multiple terror convictions Thursday seems short: 10 1/2 years on top of the five years served, for an unrepentant devotee of mass bloodshed. In five years, the 29-year-old will be eligible to apply to the National Parole Board for full parole. Although it would seem unlikely that he’d be released at that point, who knows?
This is not to say that the Khawaja sentence is outrageous in strict, criminal-law terms. The outcome is plausible, based on the limited precedents available. But it highlights the grave suspicion that current criminal law and sentencing practices might simply not be up to the modern terrorist challenge.
For Khawaja represents a growing movement of Canadian dead-end Islamic extremists whose release into society could have repercussions of a sort generally unknown in more conventional criminal contexts.
By now, most know of Khawaja’s enthusiasm for electronics, detonators, high-test religion, and the mass-casualty slaughter of infidels. But, in its own way, a possibly bigger story is told by Mr. Khawaja’s remarkable “performance” — as one observer put it — throughout the trial. This was not anything the accused said. After all, he refused to testify on his own behalf, refused to show remorse. Rather, he sat, severe, soulessly-handsome, rigid, giving nothing away, his sleek, carefully-oiled hair parted down the middle. This was the picture and epitome of the disciplined soldier, maintaining the dignity of a righteous cause in the face of a determined but debased enemy — a court whose jurisdiction he did not fundamentally deign to recognize. A POW temporarily caged in hostile territory, sworn to return to combat. In sum, this was not a portrait of remorse, and hardly a prospect for rehabilitation. And this is why he is likely to be a menace for the hate he will spread in prison and, possibly, the more lethal hazards he could yet unleash upon society. Yet he will be among us in a decade, at most.
As a further suggestion that self-improvement isn’t in the cards, consider the anxiety expressed by those in contact with staff at Ottawa’s Regional Detention Centre, Khawaja’s home for the past five years. This anxiety is born of the open secret that Khawaja has been holding court at the centre, sermonizing and spreading his faith, presumably the version that underwrote his crimes.
As far as one can tell, Khawaja is a poisoned chalice now being offered to the prison system, a concoction whose lethality will only likely be concentrated further by the adulation of susceptible prisoners. So, expect more at the penitentiary, and more graduates of his penitentiary “lessons.”
Meanwhile, if the legal system is unprepared for what Khawaja represents, we must ask if this detention system is truly up to the task. Consider Justice Douglas Rutherford’s reference to the pitch on behalf of Khawaja by the director of the Islamic Centre of Ottawa, a man reported to have known the terrorist for 11 years. According to the sentencing report cited by Rutherford, there is the inevitable pre-sentence blather about how the cleric’s spiritual charge “has become a new person,” and that “he is talking much more and communicates effectively with others” — disturbing rather than encouraging, given the content of Khawaja’s past pathologically hateful conspiratorial “talk.” But then: the director “noted Mr. Khawaja has a positive influence on other inmates, helping them transition into the institution and was chosen by the chaplain of Ottawa Regional Detention Centre to represent inmates on ‘their provision of their spiritual and religious care of all denominations’.”
Those unfamiliar with the niceties of law and chaplaincy — but familiar with the evidence and shaheed-like figure cut in the courtroom — will be forgiven for asking whether we have gone mad. They will not like to contemplate a psalm-singing killer-aspirant being granted the legitimacy, status and influence of a religious social worker, licensed by officialdom to tend and recruit his highly vulnerable flock. Picture a Brylcreemed Charles Manson in vestments.
Lastly, spare a thought for the millions upon millions of dollars Canadians will spend monitoring Mr. Khawaja through his lifetime, once he is released from prison and among us. A few such cases, and the sheer weight of this on our budget and security manpower would bid fair to be called economic warfare — at virtually no cost to the enemy. Our government resources, already overwhelmed by floods of unscreenable immigrants and domestically radicalized youth, might well be too busy to stop other Khawajas, and catastrophe.
Against all this, and increasing warnings about Islamist infiltration of our society and institutions the question must be asked in deadly earnest: are we serious about protecting ourselves and our loved ones? The answer, thus far, should bring us deep shame.
David B. Harris is a lawyer and director of the International and Terrorist Intelligence Program, INSIGNIS Strategic Research Inc., and former CSIS chief of strategic planning. He served as counsel to an intervener organization at the Air India and Iacobucci terror inquiries. He observed the Khawaja trial and attended his sentencing.

CAIR-CAN board member seeks to pillory Tarek Fatah
Tarek Fatah, a well known Canadian Muslim and one who writes frequently to many Canadian newspapers on the dangers and issues of more conservative or orthodox Islam has found himself the target of what may be a smear campaign against him by a member both of the Canadian legal community as well as a former CAIRCAN associate. CAIR of course in the US recently was outed as a terrorist sympathetic group and probably more than mere sympathy as the FBI has now officially and publicly cut all ties with them and one can only wonder if the Canadian branch, CAIRCAN is similar in agenda.
Faisal Kutty, LL.B., LL.M. KSM Law, also was a central figure in attempting to have sharia law adopted in Ontario for civil and family matters has asked his network to start a campaign against Tarek speaking to DFAIT and accusing him of hatred to Muslims.
Below, please see a screen capture from a yahoo group where Mr. Kutty’s email was posted. I offer a link here but as it will likely be removed soon, it seems a good idea to use the screen capture as well.
Text reads:
Salams,He is now speaking to DFAIT as an expert….We can’t simply continue to ignore his opportunism, hate and targetting of Muslims…people should write to DFAIT expressing that he is entitled to his views but his credibility, agenda and qualification to speak on this topic should be challenged or at least balanced by qualified academics and experts…
On the surface its pretty harmless. But Tarek is not anti Muslim. He IS a Muslim. He merely isn’t a jihadi nor does he advocate any form of extremism. To one who wishes to implement sharia in Canada he would likely be seen as an apostate. It’s also noteworthy that Mr. Kutty is a former Vice-Chair of CAIR-CAN, and seems to hold a position at York University Law school as this link in the above email indicates.
As Commissioner of the Inquiry, Mr. Iacobucci’s mandate will be to determine:
- whether the detention of Abdullah Almalki, Ahmad Abou-Elmaati and Muayyed Nureddin in Syria or Egypt resulted, directly or indirectly, from actions of Canadian officials, particularly in relation to the sharing of information with foreign countries and, if so, whether those actions were deficient in the circumstances,
- whether there were deficiencies in the actions taken by Canadian officials to provide consular services to Abdullah Almalki, Ahmad Abou-Elmaati and Muayyed Nureddin while they were detained in Syria or Egypt, and
- whether any mistreatment of Abdullah Almalki, Ahmad Abou-Elmaati and Muayyed Nureddin in Syria or Egypt resulted, directly or indirectly, from actions of Canadian officials, particularly in relation to the sharing of information with foreign countries and, if so, whether those actions were deficient in the circumstances;
This Inquiry is expected to deal with sensitive national security matters. While public hearings are possible, it is likely the Inquiry will be carried out largely in private.
The report resulting from this Inquiry is now to be submitted on or before October 20, 2008.
List of foiled terrorist attacks against the USA
Here is a handy list. One I have needed in countless conversations about Bush the US and so on. Im confident on one thing; this list is probably incomplete. Someday perhaps we will know all or most of them. But at least we have this:

Muslim students assn. protest speech by ex terrorist at university
On Tuesday, March 10th two former terrorists are scheduled to speak at Western Michigan University on the subject of why Islamic terrorists want to kill. However, a poster (pictured) promoting the event appears to have generated some of its own controversy.
WMU group International Conservatives, led by president Chris McCann is coordinating and sponsoring the event and is finding itself embroiled in a free speech battle before the event has even taken place.
“This is beyond ludicrous,” says Keith Davies, executive director of the Shoebat foundation. “McCann’s group is being told to take down a poster because people are afraid of what it represents. It doesn’t take long to figure out they’re actually not afraid of the poster at all. They’re either afraid of what it represents or they are trying to use intimidation themselves to silence free speech.”
According to University officials, they have received complaints from students belonging to the Muslim Student Association, who claim the poster is offensive. The stance shared by both McCann and the Shoebat Foundation is that this is a 1st Amendment issue and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the poster.
Both McCann and Davies point to obstruction tactics by University officials intended to derail the event. “First, they tried to rescind the funding they themselves approved in writing, then they tell us the posters we had printed are too large by two inches. Incidently, the University has a poster that they posted themselves exactly the same size as the one in question. Now, after the posters have been re-sized to fit the required specs, they are alleging that students are pulling them down in acts of vandalism and the University is turning a blind eye,” Davies said.
Additionally cited as hypocrisy by both Davies and McCann is the fact that WMU has allowed the Muslim Student Association (MSA) to sponsor holocaust denier William Baker a recognized Nazi to speak at the university in the past, which should have alerted the University Administrators as to the true agenda of the Muslim Student group.
From Walid Shoebat’s internal intelligence they have known for some time that one of the most radical mosques in the country is right on campus – a staff member of the Shoebat Foundation and also a former Muslim, Zak Ezzat attended the mosque and can testify to the very radical nature of the people who attend it. This is one of the main reasons the Shoebat Foundation has chosen to stage this event to stare down the terrorist elements in America as well as to warn people of the all too under played risks of the terror threat that very much exists within America’s borders.

Smoking, selective enforcement, freedom and culture
Much of the western world from North America through to Europe has seen social engineers systematically destroy our culture through the introduction of pernicious laws which seem benign at first and end up as a joke of logical extremes.
Some years ago, basic right to private property was violated when smoking sections were introduced to privately owned restaurants bars hotels and coffee shops. At first there was little noise as it seemed reasonable in a way as well as considerate. As if consideration can be forced on people. Gradually these sections became larger and areas where one could smoke became smaller as well as regulations forcing owners to purchase expensive air treatment units and even special walls and other architectural changes had to be made to accommodate any smoking section at all. Eventually, privately owned and operated business’s had to act as police on their own customers and the mere possession of an ashtray became a crime. Now, patio’s have to have no permanent cover outside and any umbrellas cannot be more than a certain percentage of the total space even to smoke cigarettes outside. Some towns in Ontario do not allow any smoking on patio’s at all. In Holland, one may still smoke marijuana and hashish in cafes and bars which sell these materials but it is actually illegal to add tobacco into the mix. hence, the point about jokes of logical extremes.
All this on its own is a worthy topic for a serious essay on leftism and how it uses creeping state-ism to destroy more fundamental rights of property and freedom of its use. However when we compound this with multiculturalism, we get an interesting twist.
Various Arab and Islamic groups in Canada have demanded the right to allow tobacco smoking in their cafes and shawarma shops in the form of flavored tobacco in a hookah. This they claim, is their culture and so they should be able to supersede Canadian, Ontario and Ottawa laws on tobacco use in a ‘public’ space.
Of course, smoking cigarettes drinking beer and watching hockey in a bar in Canada was never actually our culture. But smoking this fake strawberry crap in a big brass water pipe is theirs so we have to allow this in flagrant violation of all the laws on smoking in ‘public’ places. To say this is infuriating would be understating the case. But its also a symptom of the suicidal path leftism has created for western civilization. Where we actually criminalize our own culture (for our own good of course) while making exceptions for others.
How do we fight this? well it would be supremely difficult. Inroads to freedoms on all fronts such as speech and thought crimes have been so well created over time that any real constitutional freedoms have so many exceptions that there is virtually no rational argument to be made for real rights. Political correctness, multiculturalism and public health have determined what laws may exist and what may be broken. And there lies the one possible loophole not to fight it but the second best thing, to at least make the enforcement temporarily even.
I plan to make the case that this exception is actually racist on the grounds that subjecting Arab or Muslim employees to second hand hookah smoke shows a contempt for, and less value of, the health and lives of Arab Canadians and therefore is racist and must not be made.
That allowing this to take place in a ‘public’ (I use single quotes as clearly all laws of liability show the onus on a bar or restaurant owner for the safety of all on his property often even after they leave his premises if they have been drinking, and therefore the property is indeed private in the universe of reason) space is in fact flagrant disregard for the health of Arab Canadians and the ‘danger of second hand smoke to the employees’, the initial excuse to ban smoking in business’s across Canada in the first place.
What a hollow victory this would be if I won though. It would just empower the state more and cheapen the cost of a gallon of sanctimony to the point where Canada’s main export would have less value than it already does.
National Post: Ottawa urged to review immigration cases
Ottawa urged to review immigration board cases
Arab group’s chief accepted 100% of refugees from Middle East
The government is being urged to re-examine all refugee cases heard by Khaled Mouammar, the current president of the Canadian Arab Federation, following the revelation that his acceptance rates were nearly twice the national average during a decade-long stint on the Immigration and Refugee Board.
Mr. Mouammar, an outspoken supporter of Hamas and Hezbollah, recorded an acceptance rate of 100% when it came to refugees from North Africa and the Middle East during his time with the IRB between 1995 and 2005, according to statistics obtained by the National Post. Although cases from the Middle East represented only a tiny fraction of his overall caseload, the 68-year-old orthodox Christian, who was born in Palestine, also accepted each claim he heard against Israel during the period, while the rest of the IRB accepted just 10% of Israel claims.
“I would like to see some close scrutiny of who this fellow accepted because his numbers are off the radar screen, even in comparison
to the generally questionable record of the IRB. Obviously no one was monitoring his performance because he was there for 10 years,” said Martin Collacott, a former diplomat who follows immigration and refugee issues for the Fraser Institute.
Alykhan Velshi, spokesman for Jason Kenney, the Minister of Immigration, said the government acknowledges those concerns.
“Without knowing the full details of the individual cases, I can’t comment beyond saying that the numbers speak for themselves,” Mr. Velshi said.
“I think it’s fair for Canadians to ask why Mouammar’s acceptance rate was so much higher than the IRB average for the same countries, as well as whether he was letting people in who he shouldn’t have.”
When contacted at home, Mr. Mouammar referred all questions to the IRB. “I have nothing to add to that,” he said. A spokesperson for the IRB said the board did not comment on the performance of past or current members. “However, statistics on individual acceptance rates cannot be used to draw conclusions or inferences.”
Mr. Mouammar has found himself in hot water in recent months because of his support for Hamas and Hezbollah. The CAF advocates both be taken off a list of banned organizations because they are “legitimate political parties,” while it considers Israel a genocidal regime, guilty of “war crimes.”
Mr. Mouammar also hit the headlines for calling Jason Kenney, the Minister of Immigration, a “professional whore” over his support of Israel, a move that prompted Mr. Kenney to say he intends to review the CAF’s public funding.
The Post reported this week that Mr. Mouammar spent much of the late 1990s and early 2000s sitting on the refugee protection division of the IRB. He was appointed when Sergio Marchi was the Liberal immigration minister in Jean Chretien’s first term in 1994 and reappointed on four successive occasions.
Sources have forwarded statistics on the number of cases he handled during that period and the number of refugees that were admitted to Canada as a result.
In his first few years with the IRB, the norm was for two or three members to sit on a panel and hear refugee cases. In those years, Mr. Mouammar heard 912 cases, recording an acceptance rate of 50%, compared to an IRB average of 30%.
One person who heard cases alongside Mr. Mouammar on the refugee board said that when he presided over a case, he routinely accepted claims, and it was only when the other member presided that he would agree to deny claimants.
After the IRB streamlined the hearing process to one member, Mr. Mouammar’s acceptance rate rose dramatically. Of the 1,092 cases he heard on his own, he accepted 88%, compared to a 49% average for the rest of the IRB. When it came to cases from Algeria, Iraq, Israel, Morocco and Tunisia, that number rose to 100%.
“My conclusion is that, statistically, you definitely wanted him in the room with you if you were from Algeria or Iraq, or if you were making a claim against Israel,” said immigration policy analyst and lawyer Richard Kurland.
Mr. Collacott noted that Canada accepts three times as many refugees as most other countries.

BREAKING: Pro-Palestinian security at Toronto university threaten and assault Jewish students: “Shut up or I’ll saw your head off”
Mar 3rd, 2009 by mikecg
An eyewitness:
Tonight at the U of T [Israeli Apartheid Week] event, two Jewish students were assaulted by the Palestinian “Security” team for being “disruptive” (asking a legitimate question “does Israel have a right to exist”) The Palestinian “security” smacked a student in the head and grabbed him by his neck, while another “security” officer told a second Jewish student to “Shut the F**ck up or he’ll saw his head off”…All of this was done in a crowded lecture room with over 100 witnesses!!
I was there, there are no pictures, filming and taking pictures was prohibited (they seem to have a problem with the general public hearing what they say) it was reported to the police who chose (as usual) to do NOTHING…
This is a DISGRACE.
Please send complaints to 51 division police and to U of T president David Naylor and (politely) demand that they do something about this!
National Post: Terrorist sympathiser on board of refugees in Canada
Sympathizer of terror groups was immigration board member
Comment
Nathan Denette/National PostKhaled Mouammar, National President of the Canadian Arab Federation speaks to the National Post editorial board, May 15, 2008 in Toronto.
It’s well known that Khaled Mouammar wants Ottawa to remove Hamas and Hezbollah from a list of banned organizations and replace them with the Israel Defence Forces.
It’s well known that the president of the Canadian Arab Federation recently called Jason Kenney, the Minister of Immigration, a “professional whore” for supporting Israel and criticizing the presence of Hamas and Hezbollah flags at a recent protest, prompting Mr. Kenney to say he would review the CAF’s federal funding.
But it is less well known that Mr. Mouammar spent the 11 years prior to February, 2005, sitting as a member of the Immigration and Refugee Board, deciding whether refugee claimants from such North African countries as Morocco, Egypt, Algeria and Somalia should be allowed to stay in Canada.
No details are available on how many refugees Mr. Mouammar waved through the Canadian system, although one immigration lawyer who remembers him from his IRB days says he was known to have a “very high” acceptance rate. Board members typically have sole discretion over whether to admit a refugee claimant.
But his public advocacy of terror groups should raise questions about how a known partisan could possibly pass the IRB’s screening process. How did someone who has long been sympathetic to terror groups come to hold a crucial position in the body designed to protect Canadians from terrorists? Phrases about foxes and chicken coops spring to mind.
The IRB has a code of conduct that requires members to conserve and enhance the organization’s “integrity, objectivity and impartiality.” Mr. Mouammar did not return calls seeking comment but readers can make up their own mind about his impartiality.
Since becoming president, the CAF head has shown a Robert Mugabe-like paranoia for blaming others, while ignoring the shortcomings of the side he supports.
Hamas and Hezbollah are “legitimate political parties”; Israel is a genocidal regime, guilty of “war crimes.” “One day the nightmare brought about by Zionism and colonialism will come to an end,” he wrote in a piece entitled Impressions of Palestine: 1948 and Today — a clear rejection of a two-state solution in the Middle East.
Mr. Mouammar, a 68-year-old orthodox Christian who was born in Palestine and emigrated to Canada in 1965, has become a magnet for controversy.
In 2006, he was accused of circulating a flyer at the Liberal leadership convention denouncing candidate Bob Rae because his wife was vice-president of the Canadian Jewish Congress, “a lobby group which supports Israeli apartheid.”
Last year, the CAF sponsored an essay-writing contest that encouraged Canadian high school students to consider “the ethnic cleansing of Palestine.”
An organization that used to work on behalf of all Arabs in Canada, promoting civil liberties and human rights, while combating racism and hate, has been transformed into a single-issue distiller of venom.
In the past, the CAF has documented anti-Arab incidents during the Gulf War; debated the pros and cons of the Oslo Peace Accord; and argued at the Arar commission that there is no contradiction between security and “the fundamental values we share as Canadians.” Now, it has been radicalized by its president and others.
Obama’s Muslim outreach program gets Muslims bleeding for him
From FOX news by way of The Religion of peace
A man from President Obama’s hometown of Chicago has been arrested for allegedly sending Obama and his staff envelopes containing HIV-infected blood, in the hopes of killing or harming them.
It’s only the second time ever that HIV-infected blood has been sent with malicious intent through the U.S. mail system, a spokesman for the U.S. Postal Inspection Service said.
In the weeks leading up to Obama’s inauguration, Saad Hussein, an Ethiopian refugee in his late 20s, sent an envelope addressed to “Barack Obama” to offices of the Illinois government in Springfield, Ill., according to court documents.
The envelope contained a series of curious items, including a letter with reddish stains and an admission ticket for Obama’s election-night celebration in Chicago’s Grant Park. Court documents said Hussein, who takes drugs to treat a mental illness, later told FBI agents he is “very sick with HIV” and cut his fingers with a razor so he could bleed on the letter.
Hazmat teams were called in after the envelope was opened, and offices of the Illinois Department on Aging and the Department of Revenue were locked down for nearly two hours, locking 300 staffers in their offices, court documents said.
Hussein, with his brother acting as an interpreter, told FBI agents he was actually “an admirer” of Obama and was “seeking help from the government,” according to court documents. He also told them he was hoping to obtain tickets to the Inaugural ceremonies in Washington, the documents said.
Days after sending the letter to Obama, Hussein allegedly placed two more letters in the mail, one addressed to “Emanuel,” an apparent reference to Obama’s current Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel. The two letters contained what appeared to be dried blood, the court documents said.
Hussein, who has never held a job in the three years he’s been in the United States, was arrested last month. He was charged with “knowingly” mailing letters “containing HIV-infected blood, with the intent to kill or injure another,” in violation of federal law.

Interview from CFRA with David Harris of INSIGNIS and formerly of CSIS Feb 21 2009
Here is the audio of a 2 hour interview with Nick at Night from Ottawa’s CFRA. This is an excellent interview by a member of the inteligence community who spoke about various threats from Islam in the west and infiltration of various institutions as well as Iran and its nuclear ambitions.
He also exposes the true agenda and numbers of the ‘immigration industry’ as being a fraud as it is a net loss to Canada to import hundreds of thousands of people with a mean average age of sixty five and many of whom need expeonsive medical care and take social benefits.

No to sharia
” Equality and respect are for real, live human beings, not for beliefs and certainly not for inhumane, political movements. Sharia is why so many of us have fled and continue to flee Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere; opposing sharia law in Britian as in Afghanistan or elsewhere is not an attack on people’s right to religion: it is a defence of people’s human rights”.
Those words were spoken by Maryam Namazie, a Muslim woman living in Britian. Countless others like her who dare oppose the stifling oppression, inherent misogyny and violence of Islamic law and seek it’s eventual demise do so at tremendous risk, often surrounded either by direct shunning or threats of violence from their own community or an ignorant, host polulace willing to concede to Islamists under faulty multicultural policy and religious relativism.
I do not write this to convice those of us already fully aware of sharia’s incredible cruelty but rather to the many more who have convinced themselves it as only a benign form of religious arbitration. For the women who have fled to nations seeking refuge from the barbarism, it is anything but benign and for the young girls and women left behind, a reminder of the need to challenge and disrupt the flow of hatred.
The following three stories illustrate sharia’s capacity for violence and death. All three crimes were committed in western nations. The first details the fifteen hour beating of the twenty-two year old wife of vice consul at the Afghanistan Consulate in Queens, New York. Mohammed Fagirad told police that his wife was ‘a dog and that he would treat her as such’. The beating resulted in hospitalization.
The second is the account of the trial of German-Afghan Ahmed-Sobair O, who has been convicted of the murder of his sixteen year old sister Morsal O. He stabbed her twenty three times for living her ‘western lifestyle’. After calling the judge a whore, Ahmed-Sobair O stated that ” if this trial had taken place in Kabul, I would have been released long ago”. Present at the trial were his family and relatives and in solidarity they wailed, threatened and assaulted a journalist, criticized the judge and claimed the girl bore the guilt for her own murder.
The third is the account of the beheading of thirty seven year old Aasiya Hassan wife of ‘moderate’ Bridges t.v. founder Muzzami Hassan. She asked him for a divorce resulting from ongoing domestic violence in which she sought to escape. Her decapitated body was found by police on the studio premises. Mr. Hassan has confessed to the slaying. She leaves behind two children 4 and 6.
I read this morning on www.islamqa.com a query from a Muslim man seemingly at wits end with his defiant wife. Seeking counsel from a scholar in sharia he asked ” what do I do with a woman who will not cover her hands? The scholar’s reply was simple: if persuasion does not work, reject her from your bed and if that fails, beat her”.
It is bad enough that sharia exists in Middle Eastern countries and clerics advise such fatwas, but it is wild beyond comprehension why western nations would entertain it’s existence, even in it’s most modest form. There is simply no place for sharia in any civilized society, regardless of the ribbons apologists and activists would dress it with. Movements across Europe, North America and to a lesser degree, the Middle East have sprouted by those who have fled sharia’s oppressive and dangerous nature with many speaking out against it’s further inception. Aayan Hirsi Ali, Noni Darwish and Phyllis Chesler are among those who would warn us of it’s dangerous consequence, particularly for the lives of girls and women. It is time to pay attention and to ultimately say a resounding no to sharia.

Phyllis Chesler examines another US honour killing.
Phyllis Chesler has written some of the very best material about feminism and Islam. I must say, that the mainstream feminist machinery is really disgustingly quiet on the matter of Islam which is without question the greatest threat to women’s rights and lets face it, safety overall. Phyllis as I understand it, was largely ostracised by the mainstream feminist community when she began to write on this subject some years ago. I find her work to be inspirational and important. Her article here on Vlad titled, ‘How Afghanistan Shaped my Feminism’ is truly an excellent work and should be read by all.
Here she examines an older honour killing in the US. She has of course been following the recent murder by decapitation of a women by her husband, a Muslim who ironically owned and operated a Buffalo NY TV station for the purpose of improving the image of Islam in the eyes of the west.
Please search this blog for Chesler’s work and visit her blog and sites she contributes to. She deserves recognition as truly one of the first feminist writers to deal with the reality of the threat to women by Islam and has suffered as a consequence.

She was an accomplished, professional woman, in her late thirties, a wife, and a mother. But her husband beat her. Terribly, and for a long time. Finally, after much suffering, she worked up the courage to leave him. That’s when, acting on his own, he killed her.
No, I am not talking about Aasiya Z. Hassan in Buffalo. I am talking about the 1999 St. Clairsville, Ohio case of Dr. Lubaina Bhatti Ahmed.
I know: All the major Muslim organizations, and the mainstream media, continually say that these deaths are examples of domestic violence. They say that domestic violence is a plague that afflicts women of all cultures and religions and which has nothing to do with Islam.
Homegrown Jihad trailer.
Here is the trailer for a new documentary film by the Christian Action Network. Go to gates of Vienna to get some background on this film. You will have to scroll up a bit from this link. This really is something everyone needs to know. Not just Americans although these terrorist training camps are in the US, but everyone as I doubt there are many nations that do not have these. Canada is a vast space. Surely something like this exists here as well. Probably inadvertently government funded for that matter. I wonder how similar these camps are to the ones we bomb in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Maybe the air-force needs to work closer to home for a while. Visit their home page as well. The full documentary appears to be available for the moment for a scant $10.00. This strikes me as the cheapest security investment one can make.
