Lecture on nuclear weapons manufacture.

I have posted this before on Vlad a long time ago and made reference to it several times since. However with Iran so much in the news it seems like the right time to repost this rather lucid lecture on what exactly is involved in the making of a nuclear bomb. In fact, once you see this lecture, the headlines will make less sense and the negotiations more. For example, Iran’s newest proposal to trade low enriched U235 for high enriched is absurd and no one is going to accept it and  you are about to learn why. However it may look to the useful idiots that the west is not being fair to Iranian concessions. Watch and enjoy and spread it around. This is the best thing I have seen so far on the subject. Also, I took 6 youtube videos and made one continuous one here on Vimeo so please feel free to embed on your own websites or blogs.

Bomb-sniffing dogs on Vancouver transit worry Muslim leader

I have an idea! Don’t wear a bomb on to a subway. See that’s the thing. Muslims are objecting to bomb-sniffing dogs cause Muslims have the same pathological hatred for dogs as they do for anything good in this world. But the solution for them is so easy. Don’t wear a bomb or any explosives and no dog will slobber all over you. Then, there is the annoying use of the term ‘have to’ as if people choosing to obey seventh century arbitrary religious edicts actually constitute something one has to do, in a manner that requires others to accommodate them. A person with a heart condition has to take medication or they will die. Tiger Woods has to by an entire orchid farm or greenhouse if he wants to keep his marriage intact. But a Muslim doesn’t HAVE to wash after he is near a dog. He just feels he should or it effects the degree to which his prayers are received, by someone for whom there is no evidence ever existed.

From the CBC by way of Gates of Vienna:

Passengers stepping off the SkyTrain could soon be greeted by explosive-sniffing dog patrols.Passengers stepping off the SkyTrain could soon be greeted by explosive-sniffing dog patrols. (Mike Laanela/CBC)Specially trained bomb-sniffing dogs might soon be patrolling Metro Vancouver’s buses and SkyTrains just in time for the Olympics, but that has some Muslims concerned.

The Metro Vancouver Transit Police Service is in the process of selecting the handlers and dogs that will be part of the two-year pilot project, said deputy chief George Beattie.

Once the teams are trained, the dogs will work on the entire transit system, including buses, SkyTrains and SeaBus ferries.

But the idea of being sniffed up and down by a slobbery pooch — no matter how well trained — has already raised concerns among some members of Metro Vancouver’s Muslim community.

Some devout Muslims consider dogs to be unclean animals and try to avoid any contact with them. Some Muslim cab drivers in Vancouver have even refused to take guide dogs in their vehicles and will call for a second vehicle to take the fare instead.

Shawket Hassan, the vice-president of the B.C. Muslim Association, says he wants to make sure the dogs will not touch passengers during searches, which could lead to problems, particularly for Muslims heading to a mosque to pray.

“If they touch the body, then there is a probability they will leave some saliva on the clothes,” said Hassan.

Israel: Iran now capable of building multiple nuclear bombs.

Stratfor today sent out a report from a closed door security session in Israel where it was claimed that Iran is now capable of building more than one nuclear bomb and that all which is required for these bombs to be built is the descision from Tehran and not any technical obstacles.

According to Israeli Brig. Gen. Yossi Baidatz, Iran has refined over 1800 kilos of uranium and has the missiles capable of delivering these weapons to Israel.

However, according to Stratfor:

These statements are much more an indication of Israeli intentions in dealing with Iran than an accurate reflection of Iranian nuclear capabilities. That the statements of this closed Knesset session were leaked in the first place is particularly revealing of the message that Israel wishes to send Iran and the international community at this point in time. That message, to put it bluntly, is “time’s up.”

Stratfor also makes the point:

Israel is also operating on a different timeline than that of the United States. Whereas U.S. President Barack Obama would much rather avoid a military conflagration in the Persian Gulf while he attempts to sew up Iraq, make over the Afghanistan war and nurse the U.S. economy back to health, Israel is dealing with a matter of state survival. And that, from the Israeli point of view, takes precedence over its relationship with the United States. This statement from Baidatz is thus likely one of many signals Israel will be sending in the coming weeks to accentuate the Iranian nuclear threat.

Stratfor SITREP: Chavez buys missiles, plans war

Hugo cannot help himself can he? He simply must follow the age old pattern for leftist tyrants.

1. Acquire power

2. Destroy your nations economy

3. Forcibly take control of all the nations industries claiming that will fix it.

4. Blame it on an uninvolved neighbour and declare war on them

Venezuela: Thousands Of Missiles Acquired – Chavez

December 8, 2009
President Hugo Chavez said Venezuela received thousands of Russian-made missiles and rocket launchers as part of his government’s military preparations for a possible armed conflict with neighboring Colombia, AP reported Dec. 8. During a televised address Chavez said Colombia is planning a war against Venezuela and preparing is the best way to neutralize it. The former paratrooper-turned-president did not specify what type of missiles, but said Venezuela’s growing arsenal includes Russian-made Igla-1S surface-to-air missiles and rocket-propelled grenades. Chavez added that Russian tanks, including T-72s, will arrive to strengthen the armored divisions.

Meanwhile, a Muslim woman is charging someone in the US with a hate crime because someone tugged at her headscarf. The Headscarf was taken to the linen hospital where it received the best possible attention and is out now but is under close observation. Seems like Muslims have murdered over 150 people in Russia alone this week though. Of course the real crime, was someone tugged a scarf in the US at a supermarket.

“Pulling a woman’s head scarf is clearly a hate crime and should therefore be investigated as such,” said Christina Abraham, the Chicago civil rights director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Good to see CAIR has its priorities in order. Wouldn’t want to see them try and stop Muslims world wide from trying to kill everyone all over the place. Clearly they are needed to protect bits of cloth in the USA.

Dec 5 8:33 AM it would appear at this moment that the deaths and injuries at this club were the result of a pyrotechnical error, very similar to what happened some years ago at a New York club with the band ‘White Snake’. However I did not rush to report this last night as the train bombing in Russia was first reported as “a domestic anti immigration group”. So I didn’t feel it was necessary to put every report of cause in as political correctness was invented by Russians after all. In any case at this time it does appear to have been a tragedy rather than an emergency to quote stratfor.

Stratfor’s George Friedman on Iran, Israel and nuclear negotiations

Stratfor has done much better stuff than this on Iran, some of which, that which is public, is here on Vlad. In a nutshell, Iran is dicking around everyone on the issue until they have exactly what they want. My guess is they already do, but its fun to mess with the US and the longer they can stall everyone, the better their military position is and the greater the degree of damage to all when it finally comes to what it is going to come to. Can Israel allow a nation who gives speeches about it’s utter annihilation weekly to posses atomic weapons? If I were the IDF I would be very close to action by now.

Todays Iran positions

Two stratfor SITREPS on various nations position concerning the Iranian nuclear weapons program. At least few if any governments are in denial about what it is at this point. To be honest I do not understand the French one at all. If it is not a typo, Iran should be holding a party over that one. Hopefully Stratfor meant to say “Is NOT out of the question….

Israel: All Options On Iran Being Prepared – IDF Chief

November 10, 2009
The chief of general staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Gabi Ashkenazi, said Nov. 10 that Israel is “readying all the options” to try to get Iran to end its nuclear program, Reuters reported, citing an unnamed official as quoting Ashkenazi. Ashkenazi reportedly said that Israeli “decision-makers will have to consider which paths to take.” The official said Ashkenazi added, “If the Iranians understand they will have to pay a steep price, it wouldn’t be illogical or unreasonable to say they may change their current direction.”

2. France

France: FM Rules Out Military Option Against Iran

November 10, 2009
French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said Nov. 10 that the military option against Iran is out of the question, if talks regarding Iran’s nuclear program are not resolved quickly, KUNA reported, citing France’s Inter Radio. Kouchner said it would be a catastrophe to resort to the military option and efforts are being made to avoid the use of force. He urged returning to the U.N. Security Council in December to discuss sanctions.

Israel to send out missile warnings by cell phone:  h/t Fred

cell phone rocket alert

From Brietbart

Israel is working on a warning system that will calculate the precise location of where a rocket will hit and alert residents in the area using cell phones, a newspaper reported on Sunday.”The rocket sensor will create a virtual ellipse (of the predicted impact zone) and all phones in that area will receive a warning,” the Jerusalem Post quoted Chilik Soffer, a senior official at the Israeli Home Front Command, as saying.

“We will use communications technology to send the signals and we are now working with the communications ministry to make the alert available,” he said.

The alert will come in as a vibration, audio alert, light flash or text message, he added.

The aim is to make more specific the air raid systems that Israel currently has in communities near the border with Lebanon and Gaza, which have in the past come under regular rocket fire from Hezbollah and Palestinian militant groups.

Israel: Iran’s Qom Nuke Facility Not For Civilian Use – Yadlin

November 3, 2009
Israeli military intelligence chief Maj.-Gen. Amos Yadlin said Iran’s nuclear facility near Qom has “no possible civilian use,” The Jerusalem Post reported Nov. 3. Yadlin said Iran is “competent in enrichment technology,” and he added that Israel wants to prevent any of Iran’s 3,000 centrifuges from being installed at the uranium enrichment facility near Qom. He also said Iran wants to be able to advance to nuclear weapons capability in the shortest possible period of time, once it decides to do so.

Mystery deepens over Vienna UN death

h/t Islam in Europe

By David Rogers. The Austrian Times:

UK Nuclear scientist

A British nuclear expert who fell from the 17th floor of a United Nations building did not commit suicide and may have been hurled to his death, says a doctor who carried out a second post-mortem examination.

Timothy Hampton, 47, a scientist involved in monitoring nuclear activity, was found dead last week at the bottom of a stairwell in Vienna.

An initial autopsy concluded that there were “no suspicious circumstances”. But it is understood that Mr Hampton’s widow Olena Gryshcuk and her family were deeply unhappy with that verdict.

Now a doctor who undertook a second post-mortem examination on behalf of the family believes she has found evidence that Mr Hampton did not die by his own hands.

Professor Kathrin Yen, of the Ludwig Institute in Graz, Austria, which specialises in traumatology research, told the Mail on Sunday she had more tests to complete on Mr Hampton, who had a three-year-old son with Ms Gryshcuk.

But she said one possible theory was that Mr Hampton was carried to the 17th floor from his workplace on the sixth floor and thrown to his death. Continue Reading →
