From last night in New York City, a demonstration is held for Hamas and Palestine. The police continue to side against anyone chosen to be harassed by the demonstrators. This video is about 4 minutes or so but worth watching right to the end. The NYCPD seems to have decided like police around the world to protect the enemies of freedom and the advocates of Islam and terrorism as the path of least resistance if not actual agreement with the goals, which I doubt at this point.
The main issue I believe though here, is that the Hamas supporters and leftists have realized they can act with impunity during the protests while operation cast lead was in progress. Now that the war is over, they will not stop pushing the agenda. Ezra Levant has written eloquently and prophetically on this matter as have many others. This is the new normal and which way it will progress should be obvious. But no action will be taken. A few bloggers and some mass media will point it out. But officialdom will change nothing. Huge thanks to the Gates of Vienna. One of the more prescient places on the net. We all should read it every day before its removed from the web.

A little fiction to help get some perspective on today’s reality.
There is a story this link leads to, which is a wonderful dialectic. One which reminds me of the wonderful writieng style of Scott Adam’s best known as the creator of Dilbert but less known perhaps for his most charming book, ‘god’s Debris‘, one of the most enjoyable reads I have ever had. This story I do not think was written by Adam’s and nor is it charming in other than style. But like brilliant fiction since the invention of the novel, is a good way of using literary devices to help us understand our own reality. This author uses a time traveler from the future to solidify our understanding of the present. Settle back with a drink perhaps and take 15 minutes and enjoy this 2 page short story. This writer, actually gets it. We all need to if we hope to survive the near future in any recognizable way.
Muslim doctor refuses lesbian patients. Human rights commissions face dilemma.
Well we know that the CHRC like Muslims as they hear every case brought to them by Muslims for ‘discrimination’ and we know that the CHRC likes sexual deviancy of all kinds as they destroyed a Canadian plastic surgeon for refusing to give a labiaplasty to man who had a sex change for reasons which actually had to do with the competency of the doctor. So what is the CHRC to do when lesbians take a muslim doctor to task? They must be in special session now on the verge of a melt down. The only solution will likely involve tens of millions of tax payer dollars. Really, check the story on the plastic surgeon. It’s in the too weird to be true category but typical of ‘human rights comissions’

A same-sex couple has filed a human rights complaint against a south Winnipeg doctor, claiming she refused to take them as patients and told them she doesn’t know how to treat lesbians.
Andrea and Ginette Markowski, who recently moved to Winnipeg from Yellowknife, were stunned last week when a family doctor at Lakewood Medical Centre suggested the couple look for another physician since homosexuality violates her religious beliefs.

Izaiah Buksh is suffering from bruises and will need to undergo a root canal after what he says was a religiously charged fight that broke out at a ball hockey tournament in Burnaby, B.C., on Sunday.
The 20-year-old, who was playing in the B.C. Muslim Sports Association-sponsored event, said he was warned not to play in the tournament because, though he’s a Muslim, he is not a Sunni.
The mood of the game turned tense early on when his team took an early lead. Buksh said the opposing team, made up of Sunni Muslims, told him, “You guys shouldn’t even be here. You’re not Muslim.”
Violence ultimately escalated after a play where the opposing goalie swung his stick at Buksh.
Buksh said he went to tell the referee, and when he turned around, he was attacked by a player.
That’s when the fight broke out…
Ezra Levant on Calgary marches and instigators.
Calgary anti-Semites Nagah Hage and Syed Soharwardy have been leading the pro-Hamas, pro-Hezbollah hate marches in the Jewish neighbourhood of Calgary. Neither Hage nor Soharwardy live anywhere nearby, of course; they truck in their foul-mouthed supporters — who fly the flag of the criminal organization, Hezbollah — to chant “death to the Jews”, and wave swastikas in the face of the local citizens.
The mob comes week after week.
At the last hate march, one of Hage’s followers declared — within earshot of a policeman — that he was ready to become a suicide “martyr” in Canada or anywhere else. Another one spat at a Jewish rabbi on the way to the next-door synagogue.
Soharwardy himself wrote a proud letter to the Calgary Herald, wishing that Hamas could see their rally. Soharwardy tends to say things like that. After the tsunami, Soharwardy claimed that Western aid agencies were actually kidnapping little Muslim children, not helping them.

From Sunday January 19. Ignore the images. I basically just threw a bunch on till the audio ended as I can’t figure out how to get the audio to play without it showing pictures. Ottawa Citizen: Man charged with Ottawa murder by beating
Sean Murphy was fan of Frank Zappa and the Montreal Canadiens and was buried with his Habs cap. The 51-year-old Ottawa man died last August from injuries he suffered in a mysterious beating. Five months later, an Edmonton man has been charged with second-degree murder.

OTTAWA — A 20-year-old Edmonton man accused of second-degree murder in the death of Ottawa resident Sean Murphy appeared briefly in an Ottawa courtroom Friday.
Wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, dark blue jeans and a bright yellow shirt draped around his neck, a shackled Mohamed Jama Yusuf was ordered by a justice of the peace not to communicate with 19 potential witnesses in the case, then was remanded in custody.
Mr. Yusuf was arrested on a Canada-wide warrant in Edmonton on Tuesday in connection with Mr. Murphy’s death.

Islamism Goes Mainstream My evening with Tariq Ramadan.

MANTUA, Italy—A literary festival in the ancient capital city of Lombardy is as good a place as any other to survey the question of whether there is such a thing as “Western civilization” and whether it is worth defending. Here the poet Virgil was born, and here you can see the frescoes of Andrea Mantegna, painted for his feudal patrons the Gonzagas. But the great sacking of the city, which left Mantegna’s work as almost the only surviving treasure, was undertaken by a Christian emperor. And it was here, in 1459, that Pope Pius II held a “diet” to proclaim yet another crusade—this time against the Turks.
I had come here to defend atheism and secularism in general but also to have a debate with Tariq Ramadan, an Islamist academic domiciled in Geneva, who has emerged as the most sinuous and dexterous of the “interpreters” of Muslim fundamentalism to the West. He eventually declined our original debate, but there was nothing to stop me from attending his event and trying to re-stage our canceled confrontation from the floor.
Osama Bin Laden may be softly “mainstreaming,” but someone forgot to tell the converts. Anne Applebaum praised Ayaan Hirsi Ali for her role in reconciling secular government with Islam. Lee Smith wondered if today’s moderate Muslim leaders were doing enough. Bin Laden isn’t the only one looking ridiculous trying to sell out to the American public: Bob Dylan was caught by Seth Stevenson in 2004.
French author Caroline Fourest has made an intensive study of Ramadan’s discrepant appearances in Europe and in the Muslim world, and has concluded that he speaks with a forked tongue and deliberately gives different impressions to different audiences. Having listened to him, I would say that the problem is not quite that. He possesses a command of postmodern and sociological jargon (of the sort that you may easily recognize by its repetitive use of the terms space and discourse to delineate the arena of thinkable debate), and he has a smooth way with euphemism.
Thus, he tells Egyptian television that the destruction of the Israeli state is for the moment “impossible” and in Mantua described the idea of stoning adulterous women as “unimplementable.” This is something less than a full condemnation, but he is quick to say that simple condemnation of such things would reduce his own “credibility” in the eyes of a Muslim audience that, or so he claims, he wants to modernize by stealth.
Maher Arar identified as terrorist by Omar Khadr by photo and name. I WANT MY MONEY BACK
Omar Khadr ID’d Maher Arar as visitor at al-Qaida facilities, agent testifies
The teenaged, Toronto-born Khadr immediately identified Arar from a black-and-white photo he was shown during two weeks of interrogation that got underway Oct. 7, 2002, at a U.S. base in Afghanistan, FBI Special Agent Robert Fuller told Khadr’s war-crimes trial in Guantanamo Bay.
“He identified him by name,” Fuller testified. “He said he had never seen him in Canada.”
Arar was on his way from Zurich to Montreal when he was detained Sept. 26, 2002, at JFK Airport in New York City. He was roused from his cell in the early hours of Oct. 8 and told he was being deported to Syria on suspicion of terrorist activity.
Arar has steadfastly denied any links to terrorism or al-Qaida, and says he has never been to Afghanistan. His 10-month ordeal in Syria became the subject of a commission of inquiry in Canada, which publicly cleared him of any terrorist links and paid him a $10.5-million settlement.
The U.S., however, has refused to clear his name and Arar is suing American authorities over his deportation.
Neither Arar nor his spokesman Richard Swain were commenting Monday on the Guantanamo Bay hearing.
Kerry Pither, who has written about Arar’s case and served as his spokeswoman when he returned from Syria, questioned the timing of the testimony.
“The real story here is, why is this happening now? It’s very clear that this is a gratuitous swipe against Maher Arar’s reputation at a time when his case is before the courts in the U.S.”
Calling Arar “one of the most investigated citizens in this country,” Pither noted then-public safety minister Stockwell Day saw the American file on Arar before Canada apologized to the engineer and compensated him.
No mention of Khadr’s testimony came up at the time, she said. “And if the RCMP, CSIS, the FBI, the CIA, anybody, had any proof of any wrongdoing on the part of Maher Arar, you can be sure that it would’ve been made as public as possible as quickly as possible, and it never has been. It’s always been baseless allegations.”
Lead prosecutor Maj. Jeff Groharing said the photograph Khadr was shown came from FBI files in Massachusetts.
Groharing said the prosecution did not talk among themselves about the possible impact Khadr’s evidence would have in Canada.
“We have not discussed that, no,” he said. “Our focus is not on what happened to Maher Arar. It’s what Omar Khadr did in Afghanistan.”
Lt.-Cmdr. Bill Kuebler, the Pentagon lawyer who is defending Khadr before a military commission, was blunt in his assessment of the situation.
“I guess as far as the U.S. government is concerned, (Arar) is still a terrorist,” Kuebler said.
However, Kuebler stressed, Khadr often lied to his interrogators to get them to stop abusing him.
Lorne Waldman, Arar’s former lawyer, dismissed Fuller’s testimony given Khadr’s mistreatment in Afghanistan, saying it “shouldn’t have been given any credibility at all.”
“I’m convinced that any reasonable person hearing this would treat it for what it is, an allegation that has no basis in fact.”
Added Paul Cavalluzzo, who served as chief counsel for the Arar inquiry, “Was the statement a product of torture? Because if it was it’s completely useless.
“I think we need a lot more information before we even consider it further.”
A military intelligence agent identified only as Interrogator 11 also testified Monday that Khadr recounted throwing the grenade that killed an American soldier outside an Afghan compound in July 2002.
The incident occurred after three other men at the bombed-out compound had been killed by American forces and Khadr, then 15 and partially blinded from shrapnel, cowered under a bush as the soldiers moved in, she said he told her.
“He pulled the pin and just chucked it over his shoulder,” Interrogator 11 told the hearing. “He had never thrown one before, so he just threw it over his shoulder, like he had seen in the movies.”
The intelligence agent interviewed Khadr about a dozen times – some sessions lasting as long as five hours – after he arrived at this infamous prison in more than six years ago.
“He explained that entire day in minute detail,” said the agent, the first witness to testify at the proceedings.
Now 22, Khadr was found under the rubble and badly injured with gunshot wounds following a four-hour firefight. The agent said Khadr initially expressed pride in having killed an American soldier, but later came to realize it was the Americans who saved his life.
Kuebler called Khadr’s account of the firefight “demonstrably false” and said it was proof Khadr’s stories were not to be believed.
Parts of a 27-minute video seized by U.S. forces after the firefight show a baby-faced, grinning Khadr in the company of al-Qaida leaders helping assemble and lay improvised explosive devices.
As the video played, Fuller said Khadr told him he was happy to be with the men.
The defence has maintained Khadr’s incriminating statements were the result of coercion and are trying to get the judge to throw them out.
Both agents, however, denied there was any abuse of Khadr or threats against him.
On the contrary, said Interrogator 11, Khadr was “very happy” to see her and she considered the information he provided reliable.
“When he would come to the room, he was always smiling. He would willingly speak to me,” she told Col. Patrick Parrish, who is presiding over the case.
While Khadr’s leg irons were shackled to the floor, the intelligence agent said she took off his handcuffs to make him feel comfortable and never felt that he posed a threat.
Khadr, dressed in the all-white uniform of Camp 4, where “highly compliant” prisoners are kept, appeared relaxed during the proceedings.
He smiled broadly, chatted with his lawyers, and read documents intently. Sporting a neatly cropped full beard, the six-foot Khadr looks far different than the now-familiar photo of him at 15.
Khadr described in detail how he had been trained by top al-Qaida figures – associates of his father – in surveillance techniques and in making and laying explosive devices aimed at American forces.
His father was killed in a 2003 raid in Pakistan. The Khadr family often stayed with terrorist financier Osama bin Laden.
The defence argues intelligence agents abused Khadr, while a “clean” set of law-enforcement interrogators later took incriminating statements from the Canadian.
“The fact that he could provide me with so much detail of everything . . . I thought that information was very reliable,” Interrogator 11 said.

Canada angers Islamists
It would appear that Canada has been scratched of the guest list to sit down to dinner with the Islamists. No more invites; we’ve pissed off the Arabs and Muslim world with one fell swoop. How? Canada officially declared her support for Israel in the Gaza conflict and Israel’s right to defend herself against terrorism.
And now the bony finger of extremism and twisted logic wags itself at Canada in…….. anger.
A January 14 editorial in the Arab News condemns Canada’s decision to vote against a motion by the UN human rights council to vilify Israel in the Gaza conflict, the only country out of 47 to do so, and to demand an investigation into Israel’s human right’s violations. Canada did so, realizing the slanted position of the proposal which clearly intended to discredit Israel’s stance while simultaneously rendering Hamas blameless.
” With a stroke, Canada has lost it’s credibility, honour and friends in the Arab and Muslim world”.
Funny, I didn’t know we had any ‘friends’ in the Arab and Muslim world.
Certainly, this ommission to defend Hamas is seen as repugnant only among those who would wish that peace replace violence in Gaza via submission to terrorist ideology. The many well meaning? union organizations whose stance for justice and peace rely on condemning Israel, the anti-semites who protest at weekend rallies shouting Nazi rhetoric and of course, the ‘moderate’ Muslim organizations who belittle Canada and the United States at every turn are seething with rage at both the Conservative’s and Liberal’s official stance; that Canada denounce terrorism. The NDP is too busy handing out spare shoes and hot cocoa at the rallies to comment. Not surprisingly, I found this article on the nation’s most prominent, Islamic, peace loving site, the CIC.
“Canada’s famed evenhandedness seems to have vanished. It has been replaced by blindness and hardheartedness. It is truly shocking”.
It IS a truly shocking and welcome turn, especially to Canadians who had all but given up on the government’s willingness to re-adjust it’s balls in the trousers of the nation and deligitimize terror states and their supporters through abject rejection. As for heardheartedness? The Arab and Muslim world have the monopoly on hardheartedness and heartlessness: just ask the innocent Palestinian people, the victims of Hamas and the countless other innocents around the world who have perished in the name of Islamic ‘peace and justice’.
There is a concerted push by Islamists to see Canada evolve into a safe haven for the imported hatred of Jews and sharia law that ensure intolerance, bigotry and misogyny. All one has to do is attend a pro-Hamas rally on any given weekend to witness the desire. The anger amongst them at Canada’s recent offical denunciation of Hamas combined with the ongoing willingness of Islamist sites and Muslim community newspapers to re-publish the sentiment should come as little surprise to anyone who understands the mandate. If we have indeed ‘thrown fairness to the wind’ as they claim, it is because our definition of fairness is a radically different one, as are the definitions of peace and social justice.
“Canada has, in the past rarely done anything to anger anyone”, states the Arab media editorial.
So be it. Time to eat at home with a big ham and swiss on rye and a cold beer.

Ezra Levant speaks brilliantly on the ‘new normal’ of anti semitism. read, spread.
I have copied this entire post from Ezra’s blog linked below. I think its a very important one and needs to be read by everyone. What he says here not only applies just to Canada but the evidence of it’s truth can be witnessed across Europe which is if not tomorrow’s newspaper for we in Canada it is next year’s newspaper. Clearly this process is taking place across the western world. Canada is behind the curve. This gives us a chance to actually see what has happened to other nations who employ the same strategy as we do and see it’s results. The question remains, do we have the collective wisdom to know the future and make new decisions? Or will we carry on with what momentum we have and imagine it won’t happen here cause we are somehow immune to the same forces at work.
Its worth a click to www.ezralevant.com and read up on his trials with the various bureaucratic institutions that ultimately protect hate groups in Canada if you are not already familiar with them.
Hamas and Hezbollah supporters return to Calgary’s Jewish neighbourhood
I don’t get it. Glenmore Landing is private property; with a word RioCan, the landlord, could demand that the pro-Hamas and pro-Hezbollah goons, who now gather there weekly, leave. That’s what mall security does when teens loiter on skateboards. How about foreign anti-Semitic provocateurs flying terrorist flags?
Here’s two photos from today. (Thanks to DS.)

I know for a fact that several merchants in the mall are appalled — not just by their lost business, but by the offensive display of anti-Semitism permitted by their landlord. I just don’t get it. The bigots said they’ll be back — I’m sure they will. And I’m sure there will be more anti-Semitic graffiti in the neighbourhood. Today’s graffiti was just a block away from the Jewish Centre, and a block and a half from the synagogue.
I bet there will be a swastika spray-painted on the synagogue within a month.
That’s what James Q. Wilson calls the “broken windows theory“. The anti-Semites at the hate march — most of them just off the plane from countries where freedom of assembly doesn’t exist, and if you dared to protest outside a government office, you’d be tortured — are testing what they can get away with. What’s acceptable in Calgary? What’s acceptable to Calgary’s Jews? To Calgary’s Gentiles? To the RioCan landlords? To the Prime Minister himself?
You can already see an escalation.
At their first hate march, the Hezbollah flag was only unfurled near the end, as a specific taunt to a Jewish rabbi.
The police did nothing, though Hezbollah is listed in the Criminal Code as an illegal terrorist organization.
The bigots are learning. I bet the terrorist sympathizer who showed the flag last time was pretty nervous about it. But now he knows that’s the new normal. And so, at this rally, the Hezbollah flag was flown for almost the entire event. Here are some pictures from today:

I imagine that, the first time the S.A. stormtroopers marched in Germany 80 years ago, they were the ones who were afraid — afraid of public excoriation, afraid of vigilantism in response, afraid of police. But once they realized they could get away with it, once they gathered momentum, once the community indicated that it would do nothing to enforce their behavioural standards, it was the community that became afraid.
Some statistics: there were about 150 Hamas supporters this time, and very few women and children. Almost all men now. There were about 20 counter-demonstrators, some with modest placards — and a small Israeli flag.
Again — as last time — the police told the pro-Israel counter-protesters that they risked being arrested for “inciting public disorder” if their tiny Jewish flag caused a conflagration. Did you get that? If the peaceful display of a Star of David “incited” the Hamas supporters to act violently, it would be the Israel supporters who would be charged. I wonder how much longer — months? years? — until police are telling people that wearing “provocative” Christian crosses is cause for arrest, too.

Found on Sheikyermami.com. What a great little site that is!
Jew-hating pathologies ultimately harm the Jew-hater, too.

In Toronto, anti-Israel demonstrators yell “You are the brothers of pigs!,” and a protester complains to his interviewer that “Hitler didn’t do a good job.”
In Fort Lauderdale, Palestinian supporters sneer at Jews, “You need a big oven, that’s what you need!”
In Amsterdam, the crowd shouts, “Hamas, Hamas! Jews to the gas!”
In Paris, the state-owned TV network France-2 broadcasts film of dozens of dead Palestinians killed in an Israeli air raid on New Year’s Day. The channel subsequently admits that, in fact, the footage is not from Jan. 1, 2009, but from 2005, and, while the corpses are certainly Palestinian, they were killed when a truck loaded with Hamas explosives detonated prematurely while leaving the Jabaliya refugee camp in another of those unfortunate work-related accidents to which Gaza is sadly prone. Conceding that the Palestinians supposedly killed by Israel were, alas, killed by Hamas, France-2 says the footage was broadcast “accidentally.”
In Toulouse, a synagogue is firebombed; in Bordeaux, two kosher butchers are attacked; at the Auber RER train station, a Jewish man is savagely assaulted by 20 youths taunting, “Palestine will kill the Jews”; in Villiers-le-Bel, a Jewish schoolgirl is brutally beaten by a gang jeering, “Jews must die.”
In Helsingborg, Sweden, the congregation at a synagogue takes shelter as a window is broken and burning cloths thrown in. in Odense, principal Olav Nielsen announces that he will no longer admit Jewish children to the local school after a Dane of Lebanese extraction goes to the shopping mall and shoots two men working at the Dead Sea Products store. in Brussels, a Molotov cocktail is hurled at a synagogue; in Antwerp, lit rags are pushed through the mail flap of a Jewish home; and, across the Channel in Britain, “youths” attempt to burn the Brondesbury Park Synagogue.
In London, the police advise British Jews to review their security procedures because of potential revenge attacks. The Sun reports “fears” that “Islamic extremists” are drawing up a “hit list” of prominent Jews, including the Foreign Secretary, Amy Winehouse’s record producer and the late Princess of Wales’ divorce lawyer. Meanwhile, The Guardian reports that Islamic nonextremists from the British Muslim Forum, the Islamic Foundation and other impeccably respectable “moderate” groups have warned the government that the Israelis’ “disproportionate force” in Gaza risks inflaming British Muslims, “reviving extremist groups,” and provoking “UK terrorist attacks” – not against Amy Winehouse’s record producer and other sinister members of the International Jewish Conspiracy but against targets of, ah, more general interest.
Forget, for the moment, Gaza. Forget that the Palestinian people are the most comprehensively wrecked people on the face of the Earth. For the past 60 years they have been entrusted to the care of the United Nations, the Arab League, the PLO, Hamas and the “global community” – and the results are pretty much what you’d expect.
You would have to be very hardhearted not to weep at the sight of dead Palestinian children, but you would also have to accord a measure of blame to the Hamas officials who choose to use grade schools as launch pads for Israeli-bound rockets, and to the U.N. refugee agency that turns a blind eye to it. And, even if you don’t deplore Fatah and Hamas for marinating their infants in a sick death cult in which martyrdom in the course of Jew-killing is the greatest goal to which a citizen can aspire, any fair-minded visitor to the West Bank or Gaza in the decade and a half in which the “Palestinian Authority” has exercised sovereign powers roughly equivalent to those of the nascent Irish Free State in 1922 would have to concede that the Palestinian “nationalist movement” has a profound shortage of nationalists interested in running a nation, or indeed capable of doing so. There is fault on both sides, of course, and Israel has few good long-term options. But, if this was a conventional ethno-nationalist dispute, it would have been over long ago.
So, as I said, forget Gaza. And, instead, ponder the reaction to Gaza in Scandinavia, France, the United Kingdom, Canada, and golly, even Florida. As the delegitimization of Israel has metastasized, we are assured that criticism of the Jewish state is not the same as anti-Semitism. We are further assured that anti-Zionism is not the same as anti-Semitism, which is a wee bit more of a stretch.
Only Israel attracts an intellectually respectable movement querying its very existence. For the purposes of comparison, let’s take a state that came into existence at the exact same time as the Zionist Entity, and involved far bloodier population displacements. I happen to think the creation of Pakistan was the greatest failure of post-war British imperial policy. But the fact is that Pakistan exists, and if I were to launch a movement of anti-Pakism it would get pretty short shrift.
But, even allowing for that, what has a schoolgirl in Villiers-le-Bel to do with Israeli government policy? Just weeks ago, terrorists attacked Mumbai, seized hostages, tortured them, killed them, and mutilated their bodies. The police intercepts of the phone conversations between the terrorists and their controllers make for lively reading:
“Pakistan caller 1: ‘Kill all hostages, except the two Muslims. Keep your phone switched on so that we can hear the gunfire.’
“Mumbai terrorist 2: ‘We have three foreigners, including women. From Singapore and China’
“Pakistan caller 1: ‘Kill them.’
“(Voices of gunmen can be heard directing hostages to stand in a line, and telling two Muslims to stand aside. Sound of gunfire. Sound of cheering voices.)”
“Kill all hostages, except the two Muslims.” Tough for those Singaporean women. Yet no mosques in Singapore have been attacked. The large Hindu populations in London, Toronto and Fort Lauderdale have not shouted “Muslims must die!” or firebombed Halal butchers or attacked hijab-clad schoolgirls. CAIR and other Muslim lobby groups’ eternal bleating about “Islamophobia” is in inverse proportion to any examples of it. Meanwhile, “moderate Muslims” in London warn the government: “I’m a peaceful fellow myself, but I can’t speak for my excitable friends. Nice little G7 advanced Western democracy you got here. Shame if anything were to happen to it.”
But why worry about European Muslims? The European political and media class essentially shares the same view of the situation – to the point where state TV stations are broadcasting fake Israeli “war crimes.”
As I always say, the “oldest hatred” didn’t get that way without an ability to adapt: Once upon a time on the Continent, Jews were hated as rootless cosmopolitan figures who owed no national allegiance. So they became a conventional nation state, and now they’re hated for that. And, if Hamas get their way and destroy the Jewish state, the few who survive will be hated for something else. So it goes.
But Jew-hating has consequences for the Jew-hater, too. A few years ago the poet Nizar Qabbani wrote an ode to the intifada:
so teach us madness.
You can just about understand why living in Gaza would teach you madness. The enthusiastic adoption of the same pathologies by mainstream Europe is even more deranged – and in the end will prove just as self-destructive.

The Muslim failure that is Palestine
Today’s National Post has published an article by veteran columnist George Jonas on the Gaza/Israel conflict. As usual, Mr. Jonas is succinct in his assertion that Gaza is a failed entity cradled in the hands of extremist ideology. I agree and further claim Gaza is yet another Muslim failure the rest of the world has to endure.
Judea Pearl, father of murdered son Daniel Pearl, speaks at a UN briefing for NGO’s: ” It may come as a surprise to some of you, but after a century of bloodshed, many negotiations, inter-faith dialogues, and countless UN-funded cultural programs, the majority of Muslims today still reject the idea that Jews deserve a state in some part of Palestine. Instead, Muslims perceive Israel to be a temporary outpost of western colonialism, hastily created out of guilt or greed”.
Mr. Jonas contends; ” If the Arab/Muslim world had a fraction of the interest in creating a Palestinian state as it has in destroying a Jewish one, the Palestinians would have had their country long ago”. Simply put, if the Arab/Muslim world were to relinquish their longs standing hatred of Jews, the Palestinian people would live in prosperity and peace.
“Hamas’s strongest supporters may be in the West, among left-wing activists and media types who have been wrong about everything in world affairs. I suppose it makes sense for terrorists to be sheltered mainly by errorists in the end”.
Hamas’s strongest supporters are indeed in the West, making a mockery out of peace and justice. To gain a glimpse of gross err, Islamist extremism and all those aboard the ‘peace’ train, attend an anti-Israeli protest in Canada, or France, or Belgium, or the United States, or Denmark, England, or…….

Hamas MP and Cleric Yunis Al-Astal in a Friday Sermon: We Will Conquer Rome, and from There Continue to Conquer the Two Americas and Eastern Europe |

|
Following are excerpts from an address by Hamas MP and cleric Yunis Al-Astal, which aired on Al-Aqsa TV on April 11, 2008. Yunis Al-Astal: Allah has chosen you for Himself and for His religion, so that you will serve as the engine pulling this nation to the phase of succession, security, and consolidation of power, and even to conquests thorough da’wa and military conquests of the capitals of the entire world. Very soon, Allah willing, Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was, as was prophesized by our Prophet Muhammad. Today, Rome is the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital, which has declared its hostility to Islam, and has planted the brothers of apes and pigs in Palestine in order to prevent the reawakening of Islam – this capital of theirs will be an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread through Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, and even Eastern Europe. I believe that our children or our grandchildren will inherit our Jihad and our sacrifices, and Allah willing, the commanders of the conquest will come from among them. Today, we instill these good tidings in their souls, and by means of the mosques and the Koran books, and the history of our Prophets, his companions, and the great leaders, we prepare them for the mission of saving humanity from the hellfire on the brink of which they stand. |
