Taxpayers paid to cover the cost of placing two officers and a patrol car outside the house of Abu Rahin Aziz.
The zealot was part of a 40-strong mob who insulted Britain’s war dead on November 11.
We can reveal that the car was sent to his flat in Luton, Beds, last Sunday night and stayed at least 48 hours.
Outrage … poppy burning
A police source said the move came as senior officers began fearing for Aziz’s safety – adding: “They were just taking precautions.”
Aziz and his group, calling themselves Muslims Against Crusades, also yelled vile insults during the two-minute silence and held placards saying: “British soldiers burn in hell.”
He, mob leader Abu Assadullah and organiser Abu Ubaidah were named and shamed by The Sun after the demo near London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the poppy-burning outrage.
Two men were arrested for insulting behaviour after the flowers were set alight.
The suspects, aged 25 and 30, were bailed until mid-December pending further inquiries.

In one of those scenes that are becoming all too common in today’s Europe, a family of culture enrichers in Sweden attacked an emergency room doctor to prevent him from touching one of their women, even if it meant risking the patient’s life.
Our Danish correspondent Hans Erling Jensen has translated an article about the incident from Dagens Medicin (Today’s Medicine). He has added a bit of editorial embellishment, and follows the translation with his own commentary:
The doctor rushed to help a woman who went into violent hemorrhage after childbirth. But when the woman’s relatives discovered that the doctor was a man, they immediately went on the attack.
This incident took place at Örebro University Hospital in Sweden two weeks ago. According to René Bangshöj, head of the women’s clinic, the assaulted doctor had been called in to help a woman who had just given birth and who then underwent heavy bleeding.
“When the doctor came in, he was met by angry screaming: ‘We do not want a male doctor at the childbirth room’,” Bangshöj said to Swedish Radio in Örebro.
The doctor, however, took his medical vow seriously, and went towards the woman. That made her husband go berserk, and he violently attacked the doctor to stop him from touching his bleeding wife.
“And at the same time the woman’s brother came into the room and attacked the doctor from behind,” Bangshöj told the reporter. “The doctor tried to protect himself against the punches and kicks, but the two foreigners nevertheless gave him a sharp kick in the groin,” he said to Swedish Radio.
Several staff members had already alerted the police, who came in large numbers and had the two violent men quickly removed. Then the woman finally could be taken to the surgery room, and she was saved in spite of it all. [The question is now whether she jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire, now that a male doctor had touched her! — HEJ]
The doctor is now working as before on the ward, but the hospital has its security department working on the matter to determine if there exist continued threats against him after doing surgery to save one of those unfortunate women who have to give birth in a culture completely without decency.
According to the head of staff, Rene Bangshöj, it is not uncommon for patients’ male relatives to make demands on the department’s staff, advising them that women must be inspected by female doctors and not men. “We see it as discrimination against male doctors, if we should always have to be prepared to consider these kinds of wishes,” the doctor concludes his statement.

First the Saturday People, then the Sunday People. Such graffiti can sometimes be found in Muslim neighborhoods in the Middle East. The “Saturday People” are, of course, Jews, today nearly gone from Muslim lands. Now the Sunday people”—Christians— are in the crosshairs, and they, too, are fleeing at an alarming rate. Both religions are unwelcome in many Muslim-majority lands for reasons of Islamist ideology—the declaration of jihad, or holy war, against infidels.
Recent terrorist attacks against Christians in Iraq have spotlighted their desperate circumstances in the Middle East, characterized by threats of terror and bloodshed, and culminating in a silent exodus from their ancient homelands—an exodus that mirrors that of the Jews half a century before. Murders, rapes, beatings, extortions, the burning and desecration of houses of worship and mob violence are abuses are all too familiar to surviving Jews who remember their own perilous journeys. Meanwhile, global anti-Christian violence calls into question the conclusions reached at the Special Assembly for the Middle East of the Synod of Bishops which took place in Vatican City last month.
Despite the violent realities on the ground, where radical Islamic terrorists call the shots, the Synod’s bishops chose to focus their attention on the “Israeli occupation” of the Palestinian territories. To the consternation of Israelis, the greater Jewish community as well as many Christian groups and organizations, the Synod neglected to name the actual perpetrators of ongoing violence against Christians. As Jesuit priest Raymond J. de Souza commented: “Radical Islam is the elephant in the sacristy at the synod. Arab Christians are reluctant to speak critically of their fellow Arabs, and there is intense pressure in the Islamic world to put the blame on Israel, Jews and the Christian West. Christians in that milieu fear being considered traitors should they too loudly insist upon their rights.”
Before October ended, al Qaeda had “responded” to the Catholic Bishops’ message with a message of their own. On Sunday, October 31, eight terrorists stormed into the Syriac Catholic Church of Our Lady of Salvation in Baghdad. just as Fr. Wassim Sabih finished the mass. As the intruders started shooting, the priest fell to the floor, begging for the lives of his parishioners. His assailants silenced him with their guns. They held the rest of the congregation hostage, demanding the release of two Muslim women, supposedly held by Egyptian Coptic Christians. A team of Iraqi security forces tried to intervene, but in response the killers threw grenades into the crowd and detonated explosive vests. The total death count was 57, including two priests. BERLIN (Reuters) – German authorities are on guard against threats of armed attack on civilians of the kind that killed 166 in the Indian city of Mumbai in 2008, Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said on Thursday.
Police are taking added precautions, de Maiziere said, a day after Germany tightened security measures citing threats from Islamist militants.
“What we are basically preparing ourselves for, is that terrorists, coming from abroad, commit an attack soon after arrival, without warning, in a building or public place, knowing that they may not survive,” de Maiziere told broadcaster ZDF.
“In shop talk, we’d call that something similar to what happened in Mumbai,” he added.

“If we know anything,” former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, once observed “we know that weakness is provocative.” Mired in political correctness, Britain’s “elites” apparently prefer to think of displays of weakness as “outreach.”
Britain’s “elites” seem not to notice Islamism, but prefer to believe that if those protesting against Islamism could be silenced, the problem of radical Islam would disappear. It was this mindset that saw parliament introducing a religious hate speech law, aimed at silencing criticism of Islam and Islamism, in the aftermath of the 7/7 bombings. Britain’s establishment, in other words, has busied itself clearing a very large space in which the Islamists can operate.
Last month, the British coalition government unveiled The Strategic Defense and Security Review [pdf]. The defense budget will be slashed by 8% over the next four years. Britain’s flagship HMS Ark Royal, Harrier jump jets, replacement Nimrod spy planes will be axed, as will 42,000 jobs in the armed forces and the Ministry of Defense .
The cuts are so severe that top military officers are said to be considering threatening resignation if the budget cuts go ahead as planned. US Secretary if Stare Hillary Clinton has also aired the US administration’s concernover the size of the cuts.
The scrapping of the flagship aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal must surely have caused top navy brass to reflect on the decommissioning of the HMS Intrepid in 1982: only four months after decommissioning had begun, Argentina invaded the British territory of the Falklands Islands. In the ensuing 74-day war, Britain lost more than 250 servicemen, before reclaiming the territory.
Prior to the outbreak of conflict, it was almost universally believed that Britain could not defeat the Argentine forces. The HMS Intrepid had to be hurriedly brought back into commission, and sent to the Falklands to defend the islands.
Since British companies began oil exploration off the islands early in the year, Argentina has once again made clear its intention to bring them under Argentine sovereignty.
There is also the Spanish and British dispute over the British territory of Gibraltar.
Both are potentially serious situations, even if they do not rank very highly in the concerns of the British public. To them, unsurprisingly, terrorism is considered “a Tier One risk,” if not the major threat to British security.
In the words of the Strategic Defense and Security Review: “The most significant terrorist threat to the UK and its interests overseas comes from the Al Qaeda senior leadership based in the border areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan, and their affiliates and supporters.”
The risk sounds reassuringly far away.
It was, of course, intended to.
The sense that terrorism is a distant threat, however, is not only created by invoking the hinterlands of Afghanistan and Pakistan and “Al Qaeda senior leadership,” but by the complete absence of an acknowledgment of the ideology behind the threat. Nowhere in the report is Islamism, or political Islam, mentioned.
Much of Europe is now openly, if reluctantly, acknowledging the problems wrought by political multiculturalism, not least of all how it has facilitated the rise of Islamic radicalism in European states.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel recently said that multiculturalism has “utterly failed.” However, Britain’s “elite” – the government, media, and various protest groups – still insist on turning a blind eye to the new fascism. Rather than face down those calling for the destruction of Western civilization, their knee-jerk reaction appears to be to appease them.
Those who do speak up against Islamism are smeared. Some prominent anti-Islamist spokespeople claim also to have been threatened with arrest. With Britain’s establishment afraid to mention Islamism, Islam’s extremist radical adherents seem to have it easy in comparison to anti-Islamists.
Imagine what the group of Islamist radicals, calling itself Muslims Against Crusades, must have thought a few days ago. In Britain (as in Canada, New Zealand, and some other countries) it is a tradition to wear a poppy on November 11, to commemorate “Poppy Day,” or what the Americans call “Armistice Day.” The emblem comes from the poem In Flanders Fields by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae (1872-1918) of the Canadian army, when Flanders had been the site of continual warfare during World War I, and Lt. McCrae had invoked the poppies that grew wild in its fields to suggest the scale of the fatalities there. The poppy, with its red petals, and black center, is also reminiscent of a wound by a gunshot, and, as such, is worn with a certain mixture of pride and humility.
About 50 members of Muslims Against Crusades [MAC] turned up in central London carrying the black flag of Islam and banners reading “Islam will dominate,” “democracy go to Hell,” and “Allah is our protector; you have no protector.” They had come to burn a large poppy, a couple of feet square, and to disrupt the two minutes of silence for Britain’s fallen soldiers. Speaking ahead of a meeting of German state interior ministers in Hamburg this week, Schünemann also said known Islamists should be forbidden from visiting radical Mosques and problem areas.
He said state police should be given the authority to monitor the e-mails and telephone calls of such suspects before they had committed a crime.

A few weeks ago or more, I watched an IQ Squared debate perhaps four times trying to find what I felt was the defining moment in the ABC (I think it was) debate as part of their series, ‘IQ Squared’ where Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Douglas Murray took the negative on the proposition, ‘Islam is a religion of peace’. Below, is the footage I felt best summarized both sides. The positive side read a passage of Koran, and Ayaan Hirsi Ali read the next line of the same verse showing in fact, that the yes side had totally misrepresented it.
Amazingly, the Catholic Church seems to have come to the defence of Catholics. This must have felt like a 5.0 on the Richter scale over at the Vatican. In any case, it is not too late and they need all the support they can get. Lets hope this is the beginning of official recognition of often brutal and sometimes grotesque persecution of Christians and other ‘infidels’ in Muslim dominated lands.

Rome’s City Hall this week erected a banner pleading for the life of Asia Bibi, the Pakistani Christian woman sentenced to death for alleged blasphemy.
The banner, which features a large photo of the condemned woman above the slogan “Let us save Asia Bibi,” first appeared on Nov. 15.
It is the latest in a series of recent appeals by the City of Rome to spare the lives of prisoners, including Iranian woman Sakineh, Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit and former Iraqi foreign minister Tariq Aziz.
Two years ago, City Hall erected a similar banner calling for the release of Myanmar democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi, who was finally freed on 14 Nov.
“We want to ensure that the square of the Capitol is a place of human rights and religious freedom,” said Rome Mayor Gianni Alemanno endorsing the campaign launched last week by Italian TV station SAT 2000 and the Italian Catholic Bishops Conference.

Two Muslim schoolboys have been excluded for making death threats to a classmate on Facebook – because he posted comments supporting British troops.
The 12-year-olds threatened to attack Darius Gill, 13, with knuckle dusters and knives in revenge for not supporting Islamic extremists.
The boy’s mother immediately pulled him out of school after reading the message on Monday. But in a new posting today one of the excluded boys continued to brag about being quizzed by police and still threatened to attack Darius.

The threats came hours after Darius – whose father is Asian – posted a touching tribute to the thousands of soldiers who have lost their lives defending Britain.

One message, littered with spelling mistakes, said: ‘Fight on Monday gonna be heavy knuckle dusters nd knifes hopefully I don’t die.’ His pal added: ‘ill bang him ma slef am a terrorist.’

Carleton University’s official student association has banned the Ottawa institution’s anti-abortion club, offering it just one way to get back into good graces: support abortion rights.
On Monday, the Carleton University Student Association (CUSA), decertified Carleton Lifeline for its anti-abortion views. It told the club that being against abortion violated CUSA’s anti-discrimination policy, but that it could get recertified in a day or two.
“We invite you to amend your constitution to create one that respects our anti-discrimination policy as laid out above,” wrote Khaldoon Bushnaq, CUSA’s vice-president of internal affairs. “If you are able to resubmit a constitution that meets our criteria by Thursday, November 18th we will be able to certify your club for this semester.” Continue Reading →

QUETTA, Pakistan — A shootout inside a mosque in southwestern Pakistan wounded 18 people Wednesday in a dispute over who should lead prayers for one of Islam’s most important holidays, police said.
Followers of the two rival religious leaders pulled out weapons and started shooting Wednesday morning after arguing over which one should start the prayers at a small mosque in remote Khuzdar district of Baluchistan province, police official Javed Ahmed said. The district is about 550 miles (900 kilometres) southwest of Islamabad.
Many of the region’s ethnic Pashtuns typically carry rifles in daily life.
Millions of other Pakistanis peacefully celebrated Eid al-Adha on Wednesday, joining Muslims the world over for the three-day festival, known as the Feast of the Sacrifice, that involves slaughter of sheep and cattle in remembrance of Abraham’s near-sacrifice of his son.
Pakistan kicked off the holiday a day later than many other countries because of local authorities’ interpretation of when the new moon was sighted.
Celebrations were muted in some areas of Pakistan because of devastating floods that affected 20 million people, of whom 7 million remain homeless.
Most mosques also added additional security Wednesday to guard against attacks by the Taliban and other Islamist extremists. Earlier this month, at least 70 people died when a suicide bomber hit a mosque frequented by anti-Taliban elders and a grenade exploded at another place of worship in the country’s northwest.
