Islamists out to destroy Britain beneficiaries of large funding

Islamists who want to destroy the state get £100,000 funding

Members of a group regarded as an ‘organisation of concern’ by the Home Office has secured large government grants for schools , reports Andrew Gilligan.

Published: 6:00AM GMT 25 Oct 2009

Leading members of a group that wants to bring down the British state and replace it with a dictatorship under Islamic law have secured more than £100,000 of taxpayers’ money for a chain of schools.

Accounts filed at the Charity Commission show that the Government paid a total of £113,411 last year to a foundation run by senior members and activists of Hizb ut-Tahrir — a notorious Islamic extremist group that ministers promised to ban.

The public money helped run a nursery school and two Islamic primary schools where children are taught key elements of Hizb’s ideology from the age of five.

Chris Grayling, the shadow home secretary, last night described the disclosure as “astonishing and outrageous” and accused the Government of “sleeping on the job”.

Hizb regards integration as “dangerous” and says that British Muslims should “fight assimilation” into British society. It wants to create a global Islamic superstate, or “caliphate”, initially in Muslim-majority countries and then across the rest of the world.

It says that “those [Muslims] who believe in democracy are Kafir”, or apostates. It orders all Muslims to keep apart from non-believers and boycott “corrupt” British elections and political processes. It has a tiny following and its views are rejected by most British Muslims. Continue Reading →

While the whole speech is excellent, I think my favorite part is the accusation that Obama uses ‘underpants gnomes‘ logic in terms of terrorism. Phase 1. we can use other means to get the information we need from hardened terrorists. Phase 2 (shrugs shoulders) phase 3. we win the war on terror!

Toronto Imam who spewed damnation of infidels attempts spin speech

“Allah protect us from the fitna [sedition] of these people; Allah protect us from the evil agenda of these people; Allah destroy them from within themselves, and do not allow them to raise their heads in destroying Islam.”

Two days ago we posted the story of Toronto Imam Said Regeah of the Huraira Centre, in which he delivered a hateful, 35 minute speech to a full, 800 male congregation. The speech was nothing more than a diatribe, an attack, on those who have called for a ban on the burqa and niquab in Canada complete with derogatory language leveled against Jews and Christians, a damnation of the infidels, and a call upon Allah to destroy the enemies of Islam.

The National Post attempted to reach Regeah several times for comment before publication of the article but was unsuccessful. But now, from his ” little corner of the beautiful city of Toronto where he contemplates the course of his life” the Imam responds. Notice the attempt to whitewash his remarks as benign ‘ operational definitions” and the invitation to ‘share’ faith.

“May God’s peace and blessings be upon us all” he concludes.

(Addition by Eeyore)

I have taken a 10 minute excerpt of his diatribe for those without the patience to listen to the whole ‘sermon’ where he attacks the Jews, the secularists, and of course foams with indignation that in Canada, infidels do not avert their gaze when a muslim passes. I think that’s my favorite part.

Imam Said Rageah responds

Posted: October 23, 2009, 6:30 PM by Ron Nurwisah

Oct 23rd, 2009 –5 Dhul Qa’dah, 1430

Dear Congregants and Visitors of Other Faiths,

Recently, there was a news article describing my sermon and my practice of Islam as one that seeks to incite hatred.  Usually, seeking to answer agenda-driven critics would only serve to distract me from my work of proclaiming the Shahadah, applying what it means in my personal life and also attempting to teach others in a practical and appropriate manner in an environment where practicing Islam can sometimes be portrayed unfairly as a threat.

In my little corner of our beautiful city of Toronto, I sometimes sit back and contemplate the course of my life. I live in a multicultural melting pot with a personal reality that is unique and diverse in many ways. For example, my father-in-law and mother-in-law are Christians, with whom I have a very respectful and loving relationship.  When I talk with them, I reflect and ponder on the nature of the lives of my children and their development.  Our unique Canadian montage will allow them to live in a society, where in spite of the circumstances of their birth or their heritage, they will find their own footing in the Canadian mosaic.  They will carve out their own Islamic identity, an identity that will be free from persecution and enslavement of thought.

As stated in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law. And among the fundamental principles which are the cornerstones of this society are the right to free speech, free thought, free expression and the ability to practice one’s own religious beliefs, all within reasonable, justifiable limits. I share and promote these values as they are also Islamic values.

I will be delivering a sermon today that will touch upon these issues and the recent controversies.  What can be explored in 30 minutes cannot be easily compressed into a one-page statement, but let me try:

1. The expression “kuffar” is based on an operational definition, of what people do to hide something, like the truth about God (“Allah” in Arabic).  In Arabic/Islamic terminology, it does not categorically refer to Christians and Jews, nor does it exclude Muslims.

2. Muslims are closer in belief and practice to observant Christians and Jews than they are to each other and Muslims respect each people as having received Revelation from the same God, and are correctly referred to as “People of the Book”.

3. Men and women in Islam are required to act and dress modestly.  There are a range of interpretations, including hijab and niqab for women.  The choice whether to veil, and the type of veil, should be entirely for each individual Muslim woman to make of her own free will.

4. Politics are shaped by public opinion and public opinion is shaped by the media.  Rather than leaving ignorance to fill the vacuum, Muslims must fully engage in Canadian society with wisdom and the best of speech, to foster mutual respect and understanding and shape an even better country.

I invite you all to learn and share more about your faith and yourselves.

May God’s Peace and Blessings Be Upon Us All

Australian grade 12 students blind sided by exam questions on Islam

DISTRAUGHT HSC candidates have accused the Board of Studies of setting an unfair exam by including questions about subject matter not included in the syllabus.

Students who sat one of the Studies of Religion papers yesterday said they were shocked to find the exam asked them to provide answers they had not covered during the year in class.

Teachers also complained that part of the paper sat by almost 14,000 candidates across NSW on Thursday afternoon was unfair.

The Daily Telegraph’s website was deluged with complaints by angry Year 12 students but the Board of Studies denied the exam was unfair or contained misleading material.

A school master said: “Our students found section one and section two of today’s Studies of Religion HSC very fair but were upset with section three . . . as were the teachers.”

Question four on Islam, worth 20 marks, gave candidates a quotation referring to the Qur’an and the prophet Muhammad. Then it asked candidates: “With reference to the quotation, analyse the role played by the revelation through the Prophet in the life of Muslims.”

One student identified only as Clare said: “When we reached section three I think most students in the state had a communal heart attack as we discovered obscure and obtuse questions which were from absolutely no part of the otherwise very straightforward syllabus.

“I just lost 20 marks from a paper I studied very hard for.”

As a number of schools called for an explanation, Newington College student Nick Grogin said he was stunned by one question.

“I had never seen anything like that in the syllabus,” he said. “Nothing about it related to what I had studied and been taught.”

Board of Studies chief executive Carol Taylor said she was aware of students’ concerns.

” I’d like to reassure them that the question was based on the syllabus and that it was looking for their knowledge of their mandatory depth study of a religion,” she said.

“The quotations used in the questions seem to have thrown some students – they were intended as a prompt or stepping stone into their answer and they will not be expected to have studied the quotations themselves.”

Police to no longer use ‘subjective’ greetings, words, for fear of confusing different cultures

What the f**k? No wonder British police forces are having trouble keeping law and order; they are too busy fussing over what ‘appropriate’ language to use when communicating with the public. ‘Morning ma’am is out. So is evening, child, boy, girl, homosexual, afternoon, businessman and housewife. Youth, youngster and ‘the tax man’ are also on the linguistic chopping block. Madness, sheer madness.

From The Telegraph U.K.

Police told to avoid saying ‘evenin’ all’

Police have been urged to avoid using greetings such as “evening” and “afternoon”, because the words are “somewhat subjective” and could cause confusion among those from different cultural backgrounds.

Police have been urged to avoid using greetings such as

Jack Warner in Dixon Of Dock Green

The official guidance means the salutation “evenin’ all”, which marked the start of each episode of Dixon of Dock Green, could be under threat.

The instructions form part of lengthy guidelines issued by police forces and fire services across the UK on what language their staff should use. Critics have accused the guides of “lacking common sense”.

Other words now discouraged include, “businessman”, “housewives” and “child”, which the organisations argue have negative connotations and could cause offence.

Confusingly, staff are also barred from using the word “homosexual”, for which they are instructed to use the term “gay”, while they are warned against using the phrase “straight”, and told to say “heterosexual”.

The instructions have emerged in response to a Freedom of Information request to police forces and fire services about the guidance they give their staff on their use of language. One force urging caution over the use of “evening”, is Warwickshire Police.

Under a section entitled “Communication, Some Do’s & Don’ts”, in its “Policing Our Communities” handbook, it gives advice to officers on communicating with people from different ethnic groups. It states: “Don’t assume those words for the time of day, such as afternoon or evening have the same meaning.”

A spokesman added: “Terms such as ‘afternoon’ and ‘evening’ are somewhat subjective in meaning and can vary according to a person’s culture or nationality. In many cultures the term evening is linked to time of day when people have their main meal of the day.

“In some countries including the UK, the evening meal time is traditionally thought of as being around 5-7pm but this might be different say for a family say from America who might have their main meal earlier and thus for them ‘evening ‘ may be an earlier time.

“The point is there is an element of subjectivity leading to a variation between cultures that we need to be aware of – taking steps as far as possible to ensure our communication is effective in serving the public.”

A number of organisations, among them Essex Police and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, now instruct staff to avoid the phrases “child, youth or youngster”.

The 52-page guide used by both organisations states that such phrases could have “connotations of inexperience, impetuosity, and unreliability or even dishonesty”. It also states that addressing someone as “boy” or “girl” “may cause offence”. Instead, officers and firemen are instructed to use the phrase “young people”.

The same guide also warns against the phrases “manning the phones”, “layman’s terms” and “the tax man”, for “making women invisible”.

The Metropolitan Police warns its staff about “common errors” to watch out for in their language. It says “homosexual” should be avoided and “gay” used, but that “straight” should not be used and “heterosexual” should. “Homosexual” should only be used in connection with legislation, according to the force.

London Fire Brigade instructs its staff not to use the terms “businessmen” or “housewives”, because it says they “reinforce outdated stereotypes”.

For the same reason, it tells workers not to call themselves “firemen” – they are “firefighters”. Other organisations have discouraged using the terms “postmen” and “binmen”.

Marie Clair, spokeswoman for the Plain English Campaign, said: “I have never heard of anyone being confused as to what part of the day it is. When the police need absolute accuracy over when something happened, then I am sure they use the exact time. There comes a point when common sense must prevail.”

She also criticised the decision to avoid phrases like “child” and “youth”. “Do you call a two-year-old a young person? Surely we can get greater accuracy in the language we already use, which is non-offensive,” she added.

Polygamy has ‘no place in Canada’: justice minister

The federal justice minister says polygamy has “no place in Canada,” after calls for clarity on the issue from the British Columbia attorney general.

“The prohibition on polygamy is certainly consistent with Canadian values,” Justice Minister Rob Nicholson told reporters Friday at a news conference

He said the federal government is prepared to defend the law, which prevents people from being married to more than one person at one time.

His comment comes the day after B.C.’s attorney general said Canadians and the justice system need clarity on whether or not polygamy is a crime.

On Thursday, the B.C. government said it decided to seek an opinion rather than appeal a court ruling that quashed polygamy charges against Winston Blackmore and James Oler. Both are leaders of breakaway sects of the Mormon Church in Bountiful, B.C. The mainstream church banned polygamy more than 100 years ago.

Blackmore was accused of having 19 wives and Oler three. Continue Reading →

MOORHEAD, Minn. — A 33-year-old man from Canada won’t face prison time after being found not guilty by reason of insanity for stabbing a Montana trucker at a Moorhead rest stop.

Harmit Bhangu will instead be deported after he’s sentenced to jail time already served on a separate assault charge. He’ll go to either Canada, where he’d been working, or to his native India.

Clay County Attorney Brian Melton did not oppose a doctor’s determination that Bhangu didn’t know what he was doing last Jan. 11 when he stabbed Dale Morigeau, a truck driver from Ronan, Mont. Morigeau survived the attack.

Psychologists testified in April that Bhangu believed he heard God order him to kill Morigeau.

Muslim ‘spiritual leader’ busted for sending hate mail to families of deceased troops

Self-styled ‘cleric’ ( really, what other kind is there?) Sheik Haron has been arrested by Australian authorities for sending the families’ of deceased soldiers letters filled with vulgarity and hatred. Calling them killers, murderers and criminals engaged in a war of invasion, Haron went on to further write of Private Greg Sher, ” he is 1,000 times worse than a pig and, why should we call a pig a hero?”

Breanna Till, girlfriend of Sergeant Bill Till who was killed in March, was confronted at his funeral by a supporter of Sheik Haron who handed her one of the hate-filled letters. In addition to the mail sent to the seven families, Haron had scores of such mail which he posted on his website which has since been suspended.

Of course the spiritual leader proclaimed his innocence claiming ” I can explain everything”…….

Muslim ‘cleric’ arrested for sending hate mail to families of dead Australian soldiers

A self-styled Muslim cleric is facing up to 14 years in jail after he was accused of sending hate mail to the families of Australian soldiers killed fighting in Afghanistan.

Police charged a 45-year-old man from Sydney, named in local press as Sheikh Haron, with sending “harassing and offensive letters to family members of soldiers killed whilst serving in Afghanistan.”

One letter was reportedly delivered to a grieving widow at her husband’s funeral. Another, allegedly written to the family of a commando killed in January, read: “I feel bad that you have lost your son but I don’t feel bad that a murderer of innocent civilians has lost his life.”

Mr Haron is accused of sending letters to the families of seven soldiers who died in Afghanistan, calling them “criminals”, “murderers” and “killers” who were fighting a war of invasion.

He described one of the deceased soldiers, a Jewish man, as a “1,000 times worse” than a pig and a “murderer of innocents.”

“Some people don’t eat the meat of a pig but they are dirtier than (a) pig,” Mr Haron wrote of Private Greg Sher, according to The Australian newspaper.

“What’s the point if some people don’t eat pork while their behaviour is worse than dirty animals? Why should we call a pig a hero?” he allegedly wrote.

Felix Sher, Greg’s father, said the letter deeply shocked his family.

“Anti-semitism isn’t something that is strange to us,” Mr Sher said.

“However, what really affected us was when we found out it went to people like Breanna Till, and people like that – that’s what hurts more. Why would these people be subject to such abuse?”

Miss Breanna Till, the girlfriend of Sergeant Brett Till who was killed while defusing a bomb in March, was allegedly confronted by one of Mr Haron’s supporters during Sgt Till’s funeral.

There, the supporter presented Miss Till with one of Mr Haron’s letters, the Australian reported.

After the claims of harassment and hate mail emerged, Mr Haron, reportedly an Iranian-born immigrant who describes himself as an Islamic spiritual leader, told the Sydney Daily Telegraph he was innocent and “can explain everything.”

The outspoken cleric posted scores of letters, including those to the soldiers, on a website under his name. The site has since been suspended.

Australian politicians were quick to condemn the letters.

Kevin Rudd, the prime minister, said news of the hate campaign would make “people’s stomachs turn”.

Mr Rudd also said he would consider whether Australia’s immigration laws should be changed to allow citizenship to be revoked in such cases.

“Every decent-minded Australian should be giving those families not just a thought but a prayer and their support, in any practical way, when these horrible things are brought back to their memory,” he said.

The Australian Federal Police would not comment on the matter, but said their inquiries were “ongoing”.

Australia has about 1,500 troops in Afghanistan – the ninth-largest contingent of foreign troops – and 11 of its soldiers have died there since 2001, most of them in the past 12 months.

Earlier this week John Faulkner, the defence minister, said he wanted Australian soldiers out of Afghanistan in the “shortest time frame possible”.

Labour wanted mass immigration to make UK more multicultural, says former adviser

From The Telegraph

By Tom Whitehead, Telegraph Home Affairs Editor

Labour threw open Britain’s borders to mass immigration to help socially engineer a “truly multicultural” country, a former Government adviser has revealed.

The huge increases in migrants over the last decade were partly due to a politically motivated attempt by ministers to radically change the country and “rub the Right’s nose in diversity”, according to Andrew Neather, a former adviser to Tony Blair, Jack Straw and David Blunkett.

He said Labour’s relaxation of controls was a deliberate plan to “open up the UK to mass migration” but that ministers were nervous and reluctant to discuss such a move publicly for fear it would alienate its “core working class vote”.

As a result, the public argument for immigration concentrated instead on the economic benefits and need for more migrants.

Critics said the revelations showed a “conspiracy” within Government to impose mass immigration for “cynical” political reasons.

Mr Neather was a speech writer who worked in Downing Street for Tony Blair and in the Home Office for Jack Straw and David Blunkett, in the early 2000s.

Writing in the Evening Standard, he revealed the “major shift” in immigration policy came after the publication of a policy paper from the Performance and Innovation Unit, a Downing Street think tank based in the Cabinet Office, in 2001.

He wrote a major speech for Barbara Roche, the then immigration minister, in 2000, which was largely based on drafts of the report.

He said the final published version of the report promoted the labour market case for immigration but unpublished versions contained additional reasons, he said.

He wrote: “Earlier drafts I saw also included a driving political purpose: that mass immigration was the way that the Government was going to make the UK truly multicultural.

“I remember coming away from some discussions with the clear sense that the policy was intended – even if this wasn’t its main purpose – to rub the Right’s nose in diversity and render their arguments out of date.”

The “deliberate policy”, from late 2000 until “at least February last year”, when the new points based system was introduced, was to open up the UK to mass migration, he said.

Some 2.3 million migrants have been added to the population since then… Read More

It claims that the carbon footprint left by domesticated animals is out of proportion to the size of their paws.A medium-sized dog has the same impact as a Toyota Land Cruiser driven 6,000 miles a year, while a cat is equivalent to a Volkswagen Golf.

But rabbits and chickens are eco-friendly because they provide meat for their owners while a canary or a goldfish has little effect on the environment.

At the same time a pair of hamsters do the same damage as running a plasma television, suggests the book Time to Eat the Dog: The Real Guide to Sustainable Living.

New Zealand-based authors Robert and Brenda Vale base their findings on the amount of land needed to grow food for pets ranging from budgerigars to cats and dogs.

They say an average Collie eats 164kg of meat and 95kg of cereals a year, giving it a high impact on the planet.

But a pair of rabbits can produce 36 young annually, which would provide 72kg of meat and help decrease the owner’s carbon footprint.

Mr Vale, an architect who specialises in sustainable living, said: “There are no recipes in the book. We’re not actually saying it is time to eat the dog.

“We’re just saying that we need to think about and know the (ecological) impact of some of the things we do and that we take for granted.”

He explained that sustainability issues require us to make choices which are “as difficult as eating your dog”.

Mr Vale added: “Once you see where cats and dogs fit in your overall balance of things, you might decide to have the cat but not also to have the two cars and the three bathrooms and be a meat-eater yourself.”

Jason Kenney, issued the following statement re: desecration of Jewish graves

Statement on the Desecration of Jewish Memorial Gardens in Ottawa

The Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism issued the following statement:

I am outraged by this cowardly act of vandalism and I express my sympathy for the families of those whose graves at the Jewish Memorial Gardens were desecrated.

Ottawa Police report that Swastikas, anti-Semitic threats and other NAZI imagery were spray-painted on the walls that mark the entrance to the cemetery, and that several headstones were also defaced. Anti-Semitism continues to be a threat. Even here in Canada, anti-Semitic attacks are on the rise.

We must remain vigilant against this sort of hate. That is why we must continue with the Security Infrastructure Pilot Program for communities at risk, we must continue standing up against anti-Semitism by boycotting international conferences like Durban, and we must continue to delegitimize those who peddle anti-Semitism both in Canada and abroad.

Thank you Rt. Honorable Minister Kenney,

British Muslim turned away from school for burka

At last someone is forcing a Muslim to actually make a choice. For the rest of us, we are all familiar with the notion that each choice may and will preclude other ones. For example, a nudist will have several places where he or she may not practice their lifestyle while simultaniously in public. It is something we all accept. Muslims however have been on a very deliberate world wide campaign to force the rest of humanity to adapt to Muslim choices, many of them arbitrary and not even in effect in fully Muslim nations, to show that no choice to practice Islam needs to limit any other choice, no matter how counter-productive those choices may be to any other activity.

So at last, a school has said enough. If you wear a burka you cannot come here. While many may object to this rule certainly none should object to the notion that we also have the right to set rules and limits for whatever institutions we may control, and that people may chose our institutions or their own. We do not nor should we have any obligation to adapt. Existence itself is one of choice. Make the right ones and prosper. Make the wrong ones and go extinct, either as a people, a germ line, or as a culture.

From The Sun UK:

A COLLEGE has banned a Muslim woman from becoming a student – because she will not take off a veil hiding her face.

Shawana Bilqes, 18, was turned away after trying to enrol on a course.

Staff asked her to remove her burka – which covers everything but her eyes – for identity fraud purposes.

But she told them she could not because of her religious beliefs, and was forced to abandon plans to sign up for the Access course to Higher Education Diploma.

Yesterday Shawana, from Burnley, Lancs, said: “It is my choice to wear the veil.

“I live around the corner from the college in an area where there are so many practising Muslims.
