Man kidnaps woman to force marriage

A 28-year-old man has been arrested after kidnapping a mentally handicapped 63-year-old woman in Bordeaux in south-western France in order to force her to marry him and obtain a residence permit.
The sexegenarian’s ordeal began in August 2011 a few months after the man arrived illegally from Tunisia, according to a report in the local Sud Ouest daily.
The man moved into the woman’s apartment in the Grand-Parc area of the city and remained in her apartment for the proceeding two months. According to the report, the 28-year-old made the woman’s life hell, doling out regular beatings while he attempted to forcibly marry her in order to regularize his situation his France.
The woman was finally able to flee by taking refuge with a neighbour, who alerted the police.
A medical examination of the woman revealed a catalogue of bruises and physical abuse.

The perpetrator, who till that day had had no affairs with the police, fled using a fire escape. Aresch R. was brought to another room and after a while treated by the emergency doctor before being carried to the hospital. He is not in serious danger.
221 serious incidents per year in the schools of Hamburg
The teacher and the students who witnessed the events had to be treated by the crisis intervention team. Violent incidents happen continuously in the schools of Hamburg. Just in June (a youngster) stabbed another during a football match in the sports field of the School of Foreign Languages at Barmbeker street.
Last school year 221 specially serious incidents were reported in the schools of Hamburg, incidents like sexual assaults or violent/dangerous physical attacks. This means that according to the statistics there was no school day in Hamburg without a serious incident involving aggression.
The names of the schools specially affected by this trend are kept secret by the authorities in order to prevent them from being avoided. The school in Neustädter street (as it is called by the security services) had not been a matter of notice in the past.

The attack happened in a Debenhams store in Manchester city centreA boy was raped at a department store in Manchester after being taken from a lift by two men, police have said.
The 14-year-old had been going to the toilets in the Arndale Centre, near the entrance of Aldi and Subway, when he was approached by the men.
After threatening the boy, they led him to a nearby Debenhams, where one of them assaulted him in a toilet.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has released CCTV of two men they want to trace after the attack on 2 June.
‘Horrific attack’Police said one of the attackers was Asian and one white.
The victim was told by one of the men: “Come with us, do what we say and if you try to run we’ll get you.”
GMP said he had been grabbed by the arm, led out of the Arndale Centre and taken to Debenhams at about 17:45 BST.
Supt Stuart Ellison, of Greater Manchester Police, said the boy was “traumatised”
He was taken upstairs in the lift and marched to a toilet where he was raped by the Asian man.

As a minor, a restraining order had been placed on the woman’s family when she reported a difficult living situation to family services, according to the Gazzetta di Modena newspaper.
Trouble started when her refusal to don a veil and accept an arranged marriage, the paper said.

England: Muslim cleric threatens to kill daughter for refusing marriage

Imam Abid Hussain is about to face Her Majesty’s judicial system as he faces trial in Manchester, England for threatening to murder his own daughter.
The victim, 16-year-old Rabiyah Abid, reportedly refused her father’s plan for an arraigned marriage to her first cousin, currently residing in Pakistan.
According to the Manchester Evening News, upon being told that his daughter was involved with someone else of her own choosing, Hussain reportedly:
“grabbed her by the throat and said, ‘follow my rules or I’ll kill you’, before hitting her on the head at the family home above the mosque he runs at Northmoor Road, Longsight, Manchester.”
The Muslim cleric denies assaulting and threatening the life of his child.
