England: Muslim cleric threatens to kill daughter for refusing marriage

Examiner:

“Follow my rules or I’ll kill you…”

Imam Abid Hussain is about to face Her Majesty’s judicial system as he faces trial in Manchester, England for threatening to murder his own daughter.

The victim, 16-year-old Rabiyah Abid, reportedly refused her father’s plan for an arraigned marriage to her first cousin, currently residing in Pakistan.

According to the Manchester Evening News, upon being told that his daughter was involved with someone else of her own choosing, Hussain reportedly:

“grabbed her by the throat and said, ‘follow my rules or I’ll kill you’, before hitting her on the head at the family home above the mosque he runs at Northmoor Road, Longsight, Manchester.”

The Muslim cleric denies assaulting and threatening the life of his child.

It’s a Family Affair…

Hussain also stands trial with two of his sons, Nawab Uddin, 23, and Bahaud Uddin, 21.

It’s reported that the duo:

“robbed their sister of the mobile phone she used to contact the boyfriend they disapproved of and to have beaten her until she was dizzy.

They deny assault and robbery.”

It was also alleged that the brothers beat the girl so badly, she had to wear a veil to conceal the injuries.

For the Prosecution…

Crown Prosecutor Henry Blackshaw said of Hussain:

“He is plainly a devout man retaining traditional values regarding family matters, which is the reason for what we say was the offending in this case, because his daughter was not going along with his wishes in following that cultural duty.”

  1. I don’t know why bring islam in to forced marriages. This has nothing to do with religion or culture,Islam don’t allow force marriage infact it’s against it. So please people do not think is to do with Islam, coz it’s not what the have done it’s againt the law and Islamic law even Islam would have punished them with Islamic shari’ah law.

The tragedy of forced marriage and honour killing could have been avoided if the poor girls were educated in a single sex state funded Muslim schools by female Muslim teachers. The tragedies are an eye opener for all those Muslim parents who send their children to state schools where they are exposed to non-Muslim teachers who have no respect for Islamic faith and Muslim community and do not understand the needs and demands of the Muslim children. Most marriages in the upper classes in the UK used to be arranged, but habits have changed. It is understandable that in today’s society with cohabitation and a very flexible view on the marriage vows an arranged marriage sounds “old-fashioned”. Just look at the abysmal divorce statistics: people have married because they believed they knew and and loved each other and they are soon onto their third, fourth marriage! This is not easy stuff to legislate.

  2. You really are stupid Iftikhar. You say it is not an Islamic problem and then say the remedy is Muslim schools with female teachers. Why bring Islam into it?

ALL the people who bring this sort of behaviour with them into western societies should be sent back home, they have no place in a modern country that respects individual freedoms.

  3. “could have been avoided if the poor girls were educated in a single sex state funded Muslim schools”
so funny to see muslims like our friend here Iftikhar tell us we’re not being dhimmi enough.
hey, heres a thought maybe its all our fault for making your children welcome in our society.

  4. Iftikhar Ahmad
Said, “Islam don’t allow force marriage infact it’s against it. ”

you keep telling yourself that Iftikhar.

That is why you need to prey 5 times a day and live ever second under Islam.
    To keep reminding yourself
