In a new report presented to members of the European Parliament, NGO Monitor details the damaging impact of highly secretive European Union funding for radical political advocacy Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).

According to the Jerusalem-based NGO Monitor, EU funds are going to organizations involved in anti-Israel boycotts and violent demonstrations, which undermine the EU’s efforts to secure peace in the Middle East.

The report, Lack of Due Diligence and Transparency in European Union Funding for Radical NGOs, shows how EU-funded NGOs lead the campaigns to demonize Israel through the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) – actions that entirely contradict the EU’s proclaimed objectives of supporting peace and democratic development.

TAKE ACTION: CLICK HERE TO URGE UN LEADERS TO SUPPORT THE RESOLUTION TO REMOVE RICHARD FALK

GENEVA, May 9, 2013 – UN official Richard Falk, who was condemned for blaming the Boston terrorist attack on U.S. and Israeli policies, has once again justified the bombings as a form of “resistance” that was “bound” to result from U.S. “military undertakings,” in an interview he gave to The Daily Princetonian newspaper.

In an unprecedented move, UN Watch, a Geneva-based group with non-governmental observer status at the United Nations, today circulated a draft resolution to terminate Falk’s mandate, and called on the U.S. and the EU to endorse it.

UN Watch also urged UN rights chief Navi Pillay, and council president Remigiusz Achilles Henczel of Poland, to follow Ban Ki-moon’s example and condemn Falk’s latest remarks. So far, both have kept silent.

Dark Knight killer James Holmes ‘is now a Muslim who prays five times a day’

James Holmes, the gunman behind the Dark Knight massacre in Colorado last July, has reportedly turned Muslim and prays five times a day.

The killer showed off a lengthy, thick beard during a court appearance earlier this month, and a prison source has claimed it is a symbol of his new-found faith.

The source said Holmes has turned to Islam as a way of justifying his horrific murder spree in an Aurora, Colorado cinema on July 20 which left 12 people dead and 58 people wounded.

‘He has brainwashed himself into believing he was on his own personal jihad and that his victims were infidels,’ a prison source told the National Enquirer.

He now prays five times a day, sticks to a strict Muslim diet and spends hours each day studying the Qur’an, the source said. But his new routine has upset Muslim inmates.

KILLER LORD AHMED TARD OF LARD BLAMES DA JOOOOS FOR HIS JAIL SENTENCE

Repugnant a-hole.

This is the piece of crap who ran over Martyn Gombar, 28, a Slovak living in Leigh, Lancashire, with his car while texting on his cell phone, who ended up receiving only a 12 week sentence, of which he served only 16 days. And he’s still complaining. The man simply has no remorse whatsoever for the poor Slovak he murdered. Strip the jerk of his title, citizenship and send him packing.

NOTE: It can be safely assumed that Finland’s Pertti Salolainen, prone to believing anti-Semitic conspiracies, would feel sympathy for the Lord Tard of Lard.

LONDON – A British politician who was jailed after sending a text message while driving on a motorway, which killed another motorist, has blamed his fate on a Jewish conspiracy.

Lord Nazir Ahmed, 55, who became one of the first Muslim peers in the UK after former Prime Minister Tony Blair appointed him in 1998, has said that his prison sentence was a result of pressure applied on the court by Jews “who own newspapers and television channels,” the Times said on Thursday.

He also claimed that the judge in the 2008 case was appointed to his position after he helped a “Jewish colleague” of Blair during an important case. According to Ahmed, Justice Wilkie was hand-picked to carry out the sentencing because no other judge was willing to handle his case.

He also alleged that Jewish-owned media organizations pressured the courts to charge him with a more serious offense.

Ahmed maintained that the plot to stemmed from Jewish disapproval of his support for the Palestinians in Gaza. The Times said he repeated his comments during a television interview in Pakistan, which was said to have been broadcast last April.

“My case became more critical because I went to Gaza to support Palestinians. My Jewish friends who own newspapers and TV channels opposed this,” he allegedly said in the interview.

Hate-Crime Stats Deflate ‘Islamophobia’ Myth

National Review:

Islamists inflate the number of anti-Muslim crimes in order to silence critics.

By David J. Rusin

Police investigate anti-Semitic graffiti in Edison, New Jersey, in 2009

A detailed analysis of FBI statistics covering ten full calendar years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks reveals that, on a per capita basis, American Muslims, contrary to spin, have been subjected to hate crimes less often than other prominent minorities. From 2002 to 2011, Muslims are estimated to have suffered hate crimes at a frequency of 6.0 incidents per 100,000 per year – 10 percent lower than blacks (6.7), 48 percent lower than homosexuals and bisexuals (11.5), and 59 percent lower than Jews (14.8). Americans should keep these numbers in mind whenever Islamists attempt to silence critics by invoking Muslim victimhood.

The federal government defines a hate crime as a “criminal offense against a person or property motivated in whole or in part by an offender’s bias against a race, religion, disability, ethnic origin, or sexual orientation.” Though statutes mandating harsher punishments for hatred-inspired acts raise the specter of thought crimes, emphasize group identity over the individual, and seemingly favor certain victims over others, the FBI’s tracking of such deeds shines important light on the state of the nation. Annual reports assembled from local law-enforcement data are accessible on the website of the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting Program. Especially useful is Table 1 of each compilation, which summarizes the number of incidents, offenses, victims, and known offenders for hate crimes committed against members of different groups.

The United Nations in Pakistan has pulled all staff involved in the campaign off the streets, spokesman Michael Coleman said.

The government said immunization was continuing in some areas without U.N. support although many workers refused to go out. Women health workers held protests in the southern city of Karachi and in the capital, Islamabad.

A security expert says Canada needs to go beyond screening for terrorists landing on our shores and consider the religious beliefs of some prospective immigrants.

Scott Newark says Canada should be concerned about “Islamist” immigrants.

Newark served as executive officer of the Canadian Police Association and also worked as a security and policy advisor to both the Ontario and federal Ministers of Public Safety.

“We need to think hard about what I would call ‘Islamism’, the political Islam that has absolutely no interest whatsoever in integration, that is intolerant and unyielding and absolutely committed to eradicating Western values,” he said in an interview.

Newark says if Canada did a better job screening prospective immigrants, Omar Khadr might not be household name.

Canada knew of Omar Khadr’s father’s fundraising activities for al-Qaida, for example, and of his father’s taking his children to spend time with Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan, Newark says.

Police hunt man after woman horribly mutilated

The Local

Berlin police are hunting the boyfriend of a woman who was found tied to a chair in the family home with serious mutilations to her face and chest.

A man walking down the street in the Schöneberg district of the city on Tuesday afternoon heard cries for help, Berlin’s state prosecutor told The Local.

“She had managed to drag herself to the window and was calling for help despite being tied to a chair, gagged and having suffered terrible mutilating injuries,” said Martin Steltner, the prosecutor’s spokesman.

Her ten-year-old daughter had also been tied to a chair and gagged but was physically unharmed.

“It would seem we are dealing with a crime of jealousy. It’s horrific.”

Steltner said the 36-year-old woman was a refugee from Iran. “It’s a terrible situation, terrible,” he said. Her boyfriend had Dutch citizenship but was originally from Iraq, he said.

“He is on the run,” he added, confirming the 45-year-old was the main suspect in the case. The woman’s husband, who does not live in Berlin, is not a suspect.

Filmed unknowingly, Rached Ghannouchi drops his masque

France 24:

An original Translation by Michael Laudahn

Filmed unknowingly, Rached Ghannouchi drops his masque. The polemic rises in Tunisia after statements made by the islamist chief Rached Ghannouchi, asking the salafists to show ‘patience’ and ‘wisdom’, while the islamists may consolidate their power against the secular forces. Often accused of maintaining a double discourse, Rached Ghannouchi finds himself in the centre of a polemic presently raging in Tunisia, after a video was put online on october 9 showing the chief of the Tunisian islamist party Ennahda, filmed without his knowledge.

On the footage, he asks salafist visitors to show ‘patience’ and ‘wisdom’ while the islamists may consolidate their power against the secular forces. During all of his statements, Rached Ghannouchi [always] opposes the secular versus the islamist camp, insisting on the Tunisian society’s bi-polarisation. ‘The secular forces, although a minority, control the media and the economy’, he says in the video put online early this week and shot, according to the Tunisian media, last february.

The administration, although under the Ennahda’s control, is also in their hands’. Warning against the resurgence of the Rassemblement Constitutionnel Démocratique – RCD, former president Ben Ali’s party, dissolved in march 2011 -, he continues affirming twice that the army and the police ‘are not sure yet [with regard to their allegiance]’. Adding: ‘I say to our salafists to have patience […] Why precipitate? Take your time to consolidate what you have acquired’, obtained by the islamists since the revolution.

‘Today, we do no longer have a mosque, we do have a ministry of religious affairs, we do no longer have a shop, we do have a state’, he insisted. Explaining his ‘small steps’ strategy, Rached Ghannouchi cites as an example the case of the Algerian islamists. ‘Don’t you believe a way back is not possible? This is what we thought in Algeria in the 90s, but our judgement was erroneous: The mosques fell back into the secular forces’ hands, and the islamists were again prosecuted’, he argued.

Spread massively on the internet via social networks, the video has had the effect of a bomb with the political class and media in Tunisia, who rose against the content of this speech and the split-tongue displayed by the islamist chief. His opponents accuse him of maintaining a double discourse aiming at concealing a radical agenda which he never renounced to apply, while furnishing to the public the moderate and democratic image of his party.

The ‘Le Quotidien’ paper notes this thursday that ‘the most severe thing in his [Rached Ghannouchi’s] opinions is saying that the islamaists must absolutely discard the secular forces […] and put their hands on the Tunisian administration and all the state’s levers, in order to strike root and avoid reproducing the Algerian failure’. On its part, the arabophone daily ‘Le Maghreb’ evokes ‘a scandalous video recording’ and ‘the truth of the salafist project of Rached Ghannouchi’.

The opposition has qualified the video’s contents as ‘very severe’, displaying ‘the double discourse of Ennahda’.

Mr Ghannouchi ‘casts discredit on the institutions, this man owes them explanations’, reacted Issam Chebbi, Parti Républicain (centre) on Radio Mosaïque FM. This thursday, several deputies of the constituting national assembly have organised a reunion, in order to discuss means and actions to to take vis-à-vis this video. Ennahda, on its part, denounces a conspiracy, comparing the putting online of the video ‘to the spy and montage methods handed down by the ancien régime’. In a communiqué published october 10, the party denounces ‘cut and mounted sequences’, aiming at deforming the statements of its chief, specifying especially that Rached Ghannouchi referred to the corrupt minorities reattached to the ancien régime, when he indicated that the army or the police have not [yet] been conquered by the islamist cause.

According to the chief of the islamist party, the opinions of this latter ‘were in the framework of the attempts of the Sheikh to convince the salafists to avoid violence, and to participate pacifically in political life in Tunisia’.

For Salim al-Abyad, professor of political sociology at the Université de Tunis el-Manar, interviewed by FRANCE 24, ‘it is logical that Ennahda tries to minimise the impact of this video, trying to justify its contents, considering the fact that it has caused a vast debate in Tunisia and shocked a good number of tunisians’. According to him, the spreading of this video comes during a tense electoral context. The next elections are expected to be held in march 2013, after the adoption of the new constitution, presently edited by the constituting assembly which was the result of the ballot held in october 2011, which was dominated by Ennahda.

‘Tunisia is in the middle of an electoral campaign, putting this video online is part of the electoral battle which runs presently, and the political parties attempt to settle their accounts’. According to Salem al-Abyad, the video showing the conversation between the islamist leader and several young salafists could have several consequences.

‘This speech could provoke a descent in trust of the democratic intentions of Ennahda, while giving credit to those claiming that Ennahda pratcises a double discourse, and could at short-term disturb the process of democratic transition’, notes he. To conclude: ‘This party, which holds the power and which owes itself to represent all tunisians, should refrain from running charm operations with salafists, and on the other side stop to deny the existence of a heterogenous society in Tunisia, while evoking endlessly a bipolarisation between secular and islamist forces’.

Abu Hamza: High Court judge halts extradition to the US

BBC:

Abu Hamza Abu Hamza is accused of planning to set up a terrorism training camp

A High Court judge has halted the extradition of Abu Hamza al-Masri to the US on terror charges after the cleric launched a last-ditch appeal.

An injunction temporarily stops the removal of the radical cleric and another suspect from the UK and is the latest move in a long legal battle.

The European Court of Human Rights had earlier rejected attempts to block them being sent for trial in the US.

The pair will outline their appeals at a hearing next Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Monday, the European court ruled that the men and three other suspects should stand trial in the US.

The Judicial Office confirmed Abu Hamza and Khaled Al-Fawwaz were “seeking injunctions preventing their removal from the UK”.

A spokesperson said: “A High Court judge has considered the applications on the papers and adjourned the cases to a hearing in open court.

In Greece, assaults with a racist background are on the rise. Human-rights organisations report at least 200 incidents during the past two months.

In Greece, racist assaults are on the rise. During the recent case, an egyptian was dragged with a car through the streets of the town of Nea Manolada, on the Peleponnes.

After a dispute, two men clamped the egyptian’s head in their car’s side window, then dragged the man almost 1 km through the streets. On monday, police confirmed the incident which occurred last saturday, and talked about a racist background.

Eye witnesses alarmed police and called an ambulance. According to local media, the 22-year old migrant is no longer in critical condition. Police arrested one greek as the presumed perpetrator,  Another man is still wanted.

In recent days in Greece, many assaults have occurred based on a racist background. In Athens, an iraqi migrant was battered to death by men in black.

There were more incidents in the streets, arson attacks were carried out against apartments and accommodations of migrants. Human-rights organizations reported that during the last two months, there were at least 200 attacks with a racist background.

This country at the south-eastern external EU border has for quite a while been the drop-in centre for migrants from mostly Asia and Africa. In the last ten years, more than one million people looked for shelter there. Extreme right-wing parties and groups make racist and anti-foreigner propaganda.

At the June 17th elections, the extreme right-wing and racist party ‘Golden Dawn’ managed to enter parliament, receiving almost seven percent of the votes, equalling 18 deputies.
